Table of Specification is a table that
helps teachers to align objectives,
instructions and assessment.
Table of specification is a plan
prepared by a classroom teacher for
test construction.
It is a two way chart which describes
the topic to be covered by a test and the
number of items which will be
associated with each topic.
 TOS is a representative sample of course content
 Representative sample of cognitive level across
content
 Total number of questions to be included in the
test
 Marks of questions to be associated with each
content area
 Identify the key subject areas, topics or units that
are to be examined.
 The next column contains the objectives
associated with the teaching of that topics /units
or content.
 The next column will contains which of the
cognitive level is applying
 The next column contains the number of items per
topic or content area
 In next column type of Question
(subjective/objective) have to mention
 The marks allocated to each item

  • 2. Table of Specification is a table that helps teachers to align objectives, instructions and assessment.
  • 3. Table of specification is a plan prepared by a classroom teacher for test construction.
  • 4. It is a two way chart which describes the topic to be covered by a test and the number of items which will be associated with each topic.
