2. Opening
The music videos main themes will revolve around memories and
leaving something behind.
The start of the video will show one person packing their things away
into boxes. The room will be empty and there will be hints of where
she is going for example a university prospectus in one of the boxes.
She will also be looking at a photo of her friends - something to
indicate that she's leaving and there is people that she will miss. The
video will then cut to a memory of her and her friends on a road trip.
3. First segment
The first part of the road trip will show them in the car, looking out the
window, driving, laughing and messing around. They will go to
multiple destinations such as the beach, a wax museum, a concert,
Blackpool lights, the Christmas markets. These destinations have
been chosen as they fit in with the specific age range of the people in
the video as well as this they go with the sense of a journey we are
trying to show throughout the video. In these destinations the main
characters will be taking photo's, laughing, singing, etc. This is
stereotypical behaviour for older teenagers.
4. Second segment
The video will be filmed mainly from a point of view of the characters -
almost like a vlog - as if they're filming it themselves. This doesn't
mean a range of shots won't be used. Long shots and establishing
shots will be used to show new destinations, outfits and atmospheres.
Close-ups will be used to highlight emotion, facial features and
important/significant props (For example the photograph at the start).
Zooming will be used to emphasise the main character and possible
significant destinations.
5. Ending
The video will be shown as if the road trip lasted two or three days. To
show this the characters will be shown sleeping in the car and the
next shot will show their new outfits to show that they have changed
clothes for the new day.
The video will end with the group returning home and saying goodbye
to the main character. Who will then be seen in their university
accommodation, sticking up a photo of her and her friends up on the
wall.
