2. THE SONG CHOICE
The song we have chosen to film a video for is Soundtrack to
my life by Kid Cudi.
3. OUR IDEA
The type of video we will film is a narrative based with some performance based elements as
the main character will mime some lyrics. The idea we have to go with this song is about a
school kid who often feels quite depressed due to issues at home and sometimes at school and
how we covers up his feelings and acts as if nothing is wrong. We will display this by filming 2
sides to the character: one of him in school uniform and showing his emotions to the audience
by seeming lonely and depressed. And the 2nd side will be of a much happier version of him
enjoying life and the company of his friends.
4. THEMES
The themes our video will explore range from loneliness,
depression, friendship, relationships and happiness.
The main character will be seen going through these themes to
show how a typical teenager who is struggling in life tries to
look at the bright side and try to feel happy by being with
friends or by his own outlook on life.
5. COSTUMES AND PROPS
We will be using 2 different types of costumes in our video and
both will be shown on the main character. The first will be his
school uniform which will be the easier of the two to use as we
wont have to plan ahead and can just film during any lesson. The
second will be casual clothing such as jeans and a shirt. These
costumes will be used to show the different moods and
emotions of the character as well as his story.
We wont require many props as we will be filming mainly on
streets and parks and wont include any cars or other types of
props.
6. LOCATION
There will be around 5 - 6 different locations of where we will
be filming our video and they will all be in windsor close by to
the school. One of the main locations is the skate park as it is
close and also a typical location where a teenager may hang
out. Other locations will be certain streets near the school to
be shown as the home of the character. If need be we will also
consider filming a scene in town but this will probably be a last
resort.
