2. Strengths
• Time management is a strength as I try not to leave things too late so
that I don’t get too overwhelmed.
• Technology should be another strength as my phone camera is goof
and I have filmed on it before so I know how to make it work and look
good.
• Organisation is another strength as I am doing research in advance so
that, when it matters, I am ready to start filming.
• I am also committed which is useful as I will always be there in plenty
of time if we have organised a day to film on.
• I have good communication skills which will make it easier when I am
trying to explain things to the cast.
3. Weaknesses
• Sorting out the cast may be harder as the brief has a specific target
audience so I will have to ensure that the cast reflect that.
• Finding a song may also be difficult as we are being advised not to
use a song with an existing music video so choosing a song that suits
the brief will be difficult.
• Money is also a weakness because I do have a limited budget as I am
funding this myself.
• I am still quite new to the editing software that I will be using so that
may delay me when it comes to editing the footage of the music
video.
4. Opportunities
• Developing my editing, filming and Photoshop skills.
• Making a music video that meets the requirements of the brief.
• As I am new to filming music videos, it will allow me to seek advice
from people that are more familiar with it. For example, when the
Year 13’s gave us some ideas of what we should/shouldn’t do.
• I will be able to do research regarding where the good places are to
film as long as it is relevant to the brief. This may also make my music
video stand out as I may be filming in more unusual, unique places.
5. Threats
• The weather will be one of the main threats as, if I have decided to go
out and film on a certain day and ensured that all of my cast are able
to go, the weather could ruin the idea. Therefore, I will have to make
sure that my shots will be versatile so that I don’t waste time whilst
out filming.
• Illness of either me or a cast member is a possible threat as that
would mean that I may not be able to work.
• Another possible threat is that my phone batter could die/I could run
out of storage therefore I would have to make sure that I had enough
room for all of the footage and also bring a charger so I could go into
a café and charge it up if necessary.
• A cast member dropping out would also be a threat as I would have
to re-think the whole music video and maybe even change my initial
idea so that it would work with a new cast member.
