3. Research
In general my research was pretty useful.
Finding out about āThe Documentary
Structureā and theāTypes of
Documentariesā massively helped my
project.
When writing my script the documentary
structure helped me organise all the
information I gathered and structure it the
right way.
Analysing existing products in my research
powerpoint is something I could have definitely
improved. I mainly generalised and pointed out
some basic things instead of being a bit more
detailed regarding the producers reason behind
their final product.
Going in more depth in my research could have
potentially helped me improved my final
product. I could have gotten a lot more
interesting and creative ideas .
4. Planning
Planning my work really helped my product. It was easy to get started on Production
Week because I knew excacly what to do and where to begin.
I already knew what the most suitable website was for my project and how to work
my way around it.
However, I didnāt really plan theAudio part of my project.Throughout my planning all
the way up to my final week of production I had in mind that I would be the one
talking in my documentary without even recording my self to see if I could do it.This
had a big impact in my final product as the person that was doing it instead of me
only had a week to practise and send me the final audio. This is why a few mistakes
could be heard but I think that it still came out pretty well.
5. Time Management
As far as time management I think that I couldāve definitely managed my
time a lot better.
When itās remote week and I have to work at home I tend to fall behind
because sometimes I donāt feel motivated to continue my work so I
sometimes end up having to finish that work the week where Iām in
college.Although this doesnāt happen often it still ended up affecting my
whole project as I slowly started falling behind. However I still managed to
send my work in on time.
If I had more time to do my work I would go back over all my Powerpoints
to try and improve them. I would add a lot more details and try to explain
myself a lot better.
6. Technical Qualities

ozE
ā¢ In this video the topic they were
talking about was very easy to
understand.This is mainly because
they mainly put one word on the
screen that would describe what
theyāre talking about which keeps
the audience focused and less
confused. However in my video I
showed a lot of full and
complicated sentences while trying
to still make it easy to understand
ā¢ Just like in the video shown below I added
some anecdotes and small relatable things
that would help the audience feel involved
and make it easier to understand what Iām
talking about.
ā¢ In my video every scene had a
āSlide to any directionā transition
where as the producer of the the
existing product mainly used the
āFadeā transition which keeps the
video plain and simple.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
My final product was not as creative as I wanted it to be as I was first planning of doing my
animation on Adobe Animate or illustrator but when I started watching tutorial videos on
Youtube and trying it out myself, it became harder than I thought .This is mainly because I donāt
know how to draw and have little experience surrounding these softwares. I knew that 3-4
weeks of production wouldnāt be enough for me to come out with at least something decent.
ā¢ I think that my final product came out
pretty good. I like the fact that I had access
to different animations for my character, it
helped me express my topic a lot better.
the thing I would improve is the amount of
words I put on the screen. I shouldāve put a
lot more one word sentences or simple
words that would easily describe what Iām
talking about. This would have made it look
a lot less cramped
8. AudienceAppeal
ā¢ I appealed to my target audience by adding
relatable scenarios and events that could make
them feel a lot more involved.
ā¢ I think that the teenager doing
the voice over could also be
something that would appeal to
my audience as my target
audience is mainly teenagers so
they could be more likely to
listen to theyāre age mate than
someone older
Drill music and crime is a topic a lot
of teenagers are generally
interested about which is why I
decided to talk about it towards the
end of the video. This could keep
them focused and interested until
the end of the video
10. Feedback 1 ā Jessie
ā¢ What did you like about the product?
- I like how the animation was simple yet entertaining to listen to. I also like
the use of images that where used to represent the different aspects of
the video. The music in the background is good and the voice actor gave
me Shakespeare vibes which is good as he became a world known writer
and poet in the theatrical industry.
ā¢ What improvements could have been made to the product?
- I think that the video could have more colours instead of just simple blue
and white all way through and a design that can help the character pop out
and catch the viewers eye as you can listen to it without watching it.
11. Feedback 2-Tegan
ā¢ What did you like about the product?
ā I liked how it explained how music can influence a range of mood and
how facts were used to help support the information used. I also liked
how the text, animation and the speech all went well together and was
well timed that it made the whole thing constant and interesting.
ā¢ What improvements could have been made to the product?
ā¢ I donāt think there is any improvements to be made as i believe this is
faithās first animation and overall I think it looks good as it doesnāt
really look like itās the first time someoneās made an animation.
12. Peer Feedback Summary
ā¢ What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
ā My main idea in my video was to keep it simple which is why I left it
blue and white all the way through but I do agree that from an
audienceās perspective it might just come out as plain and maybe
repetitive.
ā¢ What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
ā¢ I donāt think that the voice over gave off a Shakespeare vibe
