Our group chose to create activity bags for preschool students at the Early Childhood Center in Springdale to borrow and do with their parents. The teachers, Mrs. DeYoung and Mrs. Pascual, wanted something to encourage more parent involvement. Our group designed 8 activity bags centered around storybooks. Each bag includes materials for fine motor, literacy, math and other skills related to the story. The goal was to help parents spend quality time with their children and support learning at home.

The preschool closes for Easter holidays on April 2nd and returns on April 20th.

Summer term week 5+6 29th june 10th july
- 1. Summer Term, weeks 5+6 29th June-10th July. Dear Parents, Activities we will be doing in pre-school: Singing our rhyme of the week which is ‘There’s a tiny caterpillar on a leaf’. We will put the words on our noticeboard for you. Mark making in different ways e.g. painting, using paints and brushes outside, chalking. Making caterpillar pictures. Activities to do at home with your child: See if you can spot any butterflies in the garden or when you are walking to preschool. Make a picture of a butterfly to bring in for our wall. Get some chalks and do some drawing or writing on a path or patio in your (or grandparents’) garden. The rain will soon come and wash it off! Notices: Please remember to bring a named sun hat for your child and put suncream on them before the session as we are unable to apply this for you. We shall be enjoying some messy play in the garden over the next few weeks so please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately and not worried about getting their clothes dirty. Remember… 16th July is the date of our performance/stay and play session. You should have had a letter about this but if you are in any doubt about arrangements, please ask your key person.
