The preschool activities for 15-26 June include continuing to practice for the play by encouraging children to follow instructions and say their lines, as well as math groups discussing shapes and measuring heights and weights. Parents are asked to go on a shape walk with their children and have them compare and order objects by weight or height. Notices include bringing sunhats and sunscreen for outdoor time, the summer production on July 17, the end of summer party on July 15, and relaxed days on July 20-21 for children already on holiday.

Activities we will be doing in Preschool
 As we continue practising the play this week we will be encouraging the
children to follow instructions as well as using their ‘big voice’ to say their
lines. Not all children choose to say a line in the play but all are enjoying
joining in the actions and singing the songs.
 In maths groups, and throughout free play activities, we will be talking to
the children about different shapes as well as measuring a variety of
heights and weights.
Activities to do at home
 Go on a shape walk with your children seeing what shapes you can see in
everyday objects. Get a selection of objects which weigh different
amounts. Can they tell you which is the heaviest and which is the lightest.
Can they order 3 or 4 objects according to their weight or height?
Notices
 Please bring in named sunhats for your children and remember to put sun
cream on them before you bring them to Preschool. We are hoping for a
long sunny spell to enjoy the outside area!
 Don’t forget that the summer production will be on Friday July 17 at 9.15
am. Parents, grandparents etc all welcome but please no children or
babies. Please let us know if you are away on this date.
 The end of summer party will be on Wednesday 15 July.
 Monday and Tuesday (20-21 July) will be relaxed chill out days as some
children may have already gone on holiday by then and we didn’t want
them to miss out.
