Year 1 At Home sheet 25th-29th April.
The preschool will be listening to the story of The Owl Babies and talking about emotions over the next few weeks. They will also experiment with colors as they paint and mix primary colors. Parents are encouraged to continue talking about colors at home and look at seasonal changes in the garden with their child. The preschool letter outlines activities for the summer term from the 16th to the 27th of May. The children will plant sunflower seeds to take home and grow in a competition, practice drawing shapes inside and outside using different materials, and listen to the story of The Three Little Pigs with associated activities. Parents are encouraged to read the same story at home and take their child to the library to choose books together. There will also be 'stay and play' sessions on the 25th and 26th of May for parents to attend with their child, and preschool will be closed the following week for half term holidays, resuming on the 6th of June.

Autumn term 2016 21st nov 2nd dec
The preschoolers will be practicing pouring skills and singing Christmas songs. Parents are encouraged to get jugs and bottles for bath time play and practice singing rhymes at home. A stay and play Christmas sing-along will be held on the last day of term and parents should dress children in nativity outfits.
Spring term wk 5 6 23rd March-2nd April
Over the next two weeks, the children will continue learning about France and French words like "oui" and "bonjour". They will also hear the Easter story from Andy and his sheep Basil. In preschool, the children will work on shape recognition by identifying circles, squares, and triangles in number groups. They will make Easter crafts and paint pictures of famous French buildings. At home, parents can do shape activities with their child and encourage them to talk about what they like doing at preschool. The preschool closes for Easter holidays on April 2nd and returns on April 20th.
Week one
This weekly newsletter from a kindergarten class provides updates on the lessons and activities from the past week, and information about upcoming lessons and reminders. In the past week, students in reading learned new high frequency words, practiced rhyming words and the letter D. In math, they played a new game called Roll and Record and made pattern necklaces. Summer term week 5 18th 22nd may 2015

- 1. Summer Term 2015 week 1-2, 20th April-1st May Dear Parents, We hope you all enjoyed the Easter break and are looking forward to the Summer Term. Hopefully we will get some lovely sunny weather and be able to have a lot of fun both inside and out. Activities we will be doing in pre-school: Listening to the story of Owl Babies by Martin Waddell. We shall be using this to encourage the children to talk about their own emotions e.g. happy, sad, and scared. Singing our rhyme of the week which is ‘If you’re happy and you know it’ using the verses; clap your hands, stamp your feet, nod your head. Experimenting with colours as we draw and paint. We will be looking at, and talking about how we can change them by adding other colours to make them darker and lighter. Activities to do at home with your child: Look in the mirror and pull appropriate faces for different feelings and moods. Draw some pictures of happy and sad faces to bring in to pre-school for our wall. Sing our rhyme of the week and see if you can make up some different verses with different actions. Notices; Please keep collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers for us. Your key person will be asking you to sign your child’s plans for this half term either at the end or beginning of the session. Remember that Monday 4th May is a bank holiday and preschool will be closed for one day.
