The Role of Capitalists DBQ
Many capitalists worked to shape post Civil War America through building new businesses to employ
many people and create new jobs as well as change America through creating new inventions such as
a faster and cheaper way of producing steel and discovering the uses and increasing demand for oil.
All of these inventions would change America, with the faster and more efficient method of steel
production massive skyscrapers rose in the nation s great cities and as oil refining rose so did the
popularity of the automobile. With these businesses exploding it created many new jobs and allowed
for those who controlled these industries to become some of the richest ... Show more content on

Another time we see these Robber Barons using their money all for themselves is in document F
titled,
Vanderbilt Summer Cottage showing a massive mansion in Newport Rhode Island. This mansion is
enormous and is only used as as a house for a quarter of the year. Vanderbilt spent enormous amounts
of money on this mansion that he would barit ely even use instead of using it to raise the pay of his
workers or just share with the less fortunate. With all the money he spend on his own pleasure he
could have impacted hundreds of lives of those who work for him who struggle every day to allow for
him to achieve his fortune. This image of a summer cottage shows how Vanderbilt and the Capitalists
of this time were not Captains of industry but infact Robber Barons. In document H Clement
Studebaker gives a testimony to the Chicago Conference on Trusts stating, No true monopoly is
possible in this country except that enjoyed by a virtue of a patent granted by the United States . This
quote suggests that these Robber Barons have partially achieved their fortune through luck as nobody
had gotten to the patent before them allowing for them to create a monopoly. The Capitalists if the
time should have recognized their luck and allowed for other businesses to start up as theirs had and
have a fighting chance instead of destroying the opposition in the fight towards a
monopoly.

Reality Versus Perception in the Kasdan Films, Grand Canyon and Mumford
All of knowledge is founded on axioms: assumptions that are agreed upon for stability. However,
since those axioms are assumptions and cannot be proven without a doubt, nothing ca truly be known
with absolute certainly. Still, in order to carry on with life, assumptions have to be made. Knowing
this, the task becomes making assumption that are more educated and, given the lack of certainty, ones
that matter. Furthermore, the assumption of others can be examined more accurately with this
knowledge in mind. The most important of these assumptions, and in many cases points of debate, is
the nature of reality. The old world thought the matters of the spirit to ... Show more content on

The interlacing strands of themes in both films are much like those of time. Each event triggers
another in a continuum of interrelationships between factors of co and counter stimulus. The following
exposition focuses on articulating how those films portray the endeavor to determine, if not true
reality, then certainly some forms of realities. More specifically, attention will be drawn to the variable
perception of these realities in Grand Canyon, and the notion of reality being variable in the first place
from a look at Mumford.
A number of events occur within Grand Canyon, which are interpreted differently by different
characters. In the beginning Mac is being harassed by a gang and thus gets, in a manner of speaking,
saved from a worse fate by Simon. Mac believes this to be some sort of blessing or even divine
intervention. Though if not, he certainly attributes some greater force than random occurrence to the
favorable turn of events. Mac and Simon s conversation following the incident shows that Simon may
have a more rationally slanted perspective. Simon s telling of a story about the shark illustrates that
Mac s meeting of the gang is a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that these
things happen as a way of the way things are. Though Simon does question whether or not it is the
way things are supposed to be.
Later in the story, the money minded movie producer Davis gets shot.

Clinton Vs Hillary Clinton
Ask not what the country can do for you, but what can you do for you country. John F. Kennedy. Our
two main candidates this presidential election this year are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Hillary
Clinton was elected into the Senate in 2001, becoming the first lady to ever win a public office seat.
She later became the 67th U.S. Secretary of State. To this present day Hillary is the only women in
history to become the presidential nominee of a major political party. Donald Trump is a billionaire in
real estate business. He became the Republican nominee for the presidential debate.
Each candidate holds different ideals and beliefs on certain topics which keeps the flow of argument
going. One of the biggest issues that politicians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As with abortion, both Trump and Clinton continue to have their own solutions to the health care
issue. Clinton has the most experience with the issue, as she has been arguing for a fix to this problem,
her entire career. Clinton proposes she keeps the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), building on the
success and reducing the cost for the program. She also proposes to handle excessive price setting for
medical companies, out of pockets costs, and providing credit to those facing higher health expenses.
Trump, on the other hand, wants to completely get rid of the Obamacare, and focus on a more patient
centered health care system. Trump wants families and doctors to be the main decision makers in
medical situations, as well as pushing to make affordable health care across state lines. Both
candidates have a helpful improvements that could be used to improve healthcare. Though, I feel as
though the removal/improvement of Obamacare should really be up to the people. Trump wants to get
rid of Obamacare, but we have yet to hear of a substitute plan/program for people to use or have.
Clinton has a nice eye for improvement, but many people have suffered from Obamacare. Clinton s
idea will most likely take time, and time is of the essence. It s easier to improve something that has
already been laid out, but it can also be a risky move, as it can put more people into poverty by the

Flood Case Study
Other Factors Contributing to the Flood
The Arun and Sunkosi sub catchments of the upper catchment area contribute to the intensity of
floods, with the former possessing highest surface runoff potential (Wakode et al., 2013). As the Kosi
River exits at the base of the mountain, the ability to transport sediment is dampened, leading to
deposition of sediment and aggradation (Kale, 2008). High silt content in the river was due to soil
erosion and landslides and the presence of narrow gorges (Wakode et al., 2013). The construction of
the eastern embankment increased aggradation on the western side of the river, making the
embankment vulnerable to breaching (Sinha, 2009). Furthermore, Chakraborty et al (2010) noted that

They are more deadly than ordinary floods because they intensify the moment the dams and
embankments experience failures and breaches respectively (Singh and Kumar (2013); Singh and
Kumar, 2017). The high discharge of water from rivers can cause extensive damage to life and
property (Singh Kumar, 2017), both of which include livestock, croplands and public utilities (i.e.
electricity, telephones, and roads) (Singh Kumar, 2013). For instance, a lot of agricultural land was
rendered uncultivable because the flood had transported and deposited excess sediment (Chakraborty
et al., 2010).
Singh and Kumar (2013) noted that millions of people in India are affected by flash floods yearly. In
this regard, it can be deduced that countless people were displaced, many villages were flooded, and
Bihar s infrastructure was compromised (Kale, 2008). While there have been no reliable estimate of
deaths and loss of properties for the flood event, it can be said that more than 30 million people were
affected (Sinha, 2009). The 2008 flood was an unprecedented human misery due to increased
population density (Kale, 2008).
Short term Solution Set in Motion
Sometime in January 2009, the breach in the eastern embankment was repaired (Sinha et al., 2013).
On the 26th of January 2009, the Kosi River returned to its former stream channel, with the river
being once again confined (Sinha, 2009), as if the flood had never

Improving The Performance Of Rapid Re Housing Programs And...
Alternative 3 Home to Stay One way D.C. can enhance the performance of Rapid Re Housing
programs and lower the rate of individuals/families returning back to homelessness is to emulate the
model that NYC has been following for the past few years. A few years ago NYC launched the Home
to Stay program (Bornstein, 2014). Home to Stay is a partnership between New York s Department of
Homeless Services and four other organizations committed to fighting homelessness (Bornstein,
2014). Home to Stay uses an evidence based protocol known as Family Critical Time Intervention
which is intended to motivate individuals and heads of families over nine months to take an advantage
of support services, such as addiction and mental health counseling, conflict mediation, and
improvement of job prospects (Bornstein, 2014). The program follows an extensive and rigorous
screening procedure in order identify and select the most vulnerable and needy homeless individuals
and families who must have access to the supportive services the program provides (Bornstein, 2014).
Though Home to Stay does not target the homelessness population as a whole, program expansion is a
future possibility. While there is no concrete data that measures the performance of Home to Stay,
testimonies from individuals and families that participated in the program indicate that there is a
promising future (Bornstein, 2014). Individuals and families that were previously homeless believe
that Home to Stay is a

Dc Is Better Than Marvel Research Paper
Why is DC better than Marvel? Here are some reasons why DC is better than Marvel. The reason you
should listen is because the DC universe is becoming into the coolest place ever because of all of the
characters and scenes and themes and fighting scenes. DC is better than Marvel. These will be some of
my main points: DC has better characters, DC is more serious than Marvel is at fighting, DC is darker
than Marvel. I will compare each Universe to each other and see why DC is better than Marvel. As I
compare look carefully at the facts and carefully notice that DC is better than Marvel. The first
character I am going to talk about is Superman. Superman is the most powerful alien out there in the
DC world. Superman has the coolest powers on earth. Superman has a lot of powers such as lasers, x
ray vision, flight abilities, super speed, super breath, freeze breath and he is invincible. Other heros
don t really have that many powers like Superman does. Marvel s Iron Man has a cool suit and the
cool powers from the suit but Superman s powers are real and he was born with his. Iron Man aka
Tony built his powers/suit. As Superman has strong powers, Iron Man is encouraging science and
technology education. And for Wonder Woman, she is a role model for women and girls all over the

How Did Charles De Gaulle s Political Changes

Political Change during the 4th and 5th French Republics The political infrastructure and status of
European states has inspired discussion and sparked debate among political scientists for many years.
However, no other state has inspired comparative research and analysis more than France s political
culture and the numerous attempts of French leaders to implement a stable and effective democracy.
Although there had been a long tradition of republican politics in the country, Charles De Gaulle, the
first elected president by means of popular vote, was successful in democratizing France. It is

According to Anthony Downs, economist and author of An Economic Theory of Democracy, a system
of proportional representation, gives voters more options in regards to choosing a president and
political party, and influences the formation of coalitions which allows for an increase in voter turnout
(142). However, this system caused a different outcome among the French people. In fact, voter
turnout was at all time low due to dissatisfaction with the government. Members of parliament were
forced to form coalitions with smaller parties that they had nothing in common with. It was very easy
for the small parties, which were usually poorly organized, to hold the balance of power because there
had to be compromise in order for important decisions to be made. There was a predominance of the
MRP, Socialists and Communists in the party system. This made it even more difficult for political
stability to ensue. In addition to miscommunication and a lack of compromise among the parties
within the coalition governments, tensions created by the cold war allowed for the rightist, RPF party
to rise to power, tearing the leftist coalition

For hundreds of years the story of The Lost Colony has been told to children for

people believe that Roanoke were killed by the Spanish. However, because of recent discoveries.
Roanoke must have been forced to relocate because of a drought in route to Chowan River and

During, Roanoke and Jamestown there seemed to have been a drought that became problematic to the

John White returned back to Roanoke in 1590 after leaving his daughter, Eleanor Dare, and

Rooibos tea is a highly consumed hot beverage by many worldwide for its sweet flavor and great
aroma. The tea is prepared from a South African endemic plant Aspalathin linearis. The escalation of
Rooibos consumption over the years paralleled the rise of consumer concerns of the importance of
food and beverages in prevention of health threats and diseases (Joubert et al., 2013). The study by

The Extermination Camp At Chelmno Concentration Camp
During the Nazi Holocaust, multiple working and death camps were created to hold the captured Jews.
While the Jews lived in this camp, they were tortured, mistreated, worked to death and eventually
were put to death by either execution by firearm or were put into a death camp which exterminated the
Jews using poison gas. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the central european area
including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno, Sobibor, and
Majdanek.
Little has been published on Chelmno due to its significance as the first extermination camp to
become operational death camp. Chelmno concentration camp was established in November 1941 and
was exclusively used for the executions of Soviet prisoners and Jews, most of whom were Polish. The
extermination camp at Chelmno demands special attention, because during the German occupation
only a very few people in Poland ever knew of its existence and the hundreds of thousands of its
victims. Chelmno introduced the most deadly phase of the Holocaust. Its victims were from 36
communities in western Poland, along with 88 children from Czech town whose population was
decimated as a collective reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in May of 1942. The
facilities at Chelmno included three gas vans and two crematoria. Gassing at Chelmno began on
December 8, 1941 just hours before Pearl Harbor was struck by Japanese planes. By June of 1942,
Chelmno has produced 20 gas chambers from

The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History Essay
The Importance of Harry Hoveden in Making History
In making history, Brian Friel uses Hugh O Neill to define the characters in the play, and the way in
which his actions affect them gives the audience some characteristics to decide on the personality of
particular characters.
Harry Hoveden is obviously an important character in the play because he plays a major part in the
play, and appears in most of the major scenes. It is also clear that he is important to O Neill because he
is often the one person he turns to in times of crisis.
Harry is presented as a very loyal and sober character by, he serves to balance out some of the other
characters almost like a buffer. His calm nature in times of distress or excitement ... Show more

This calming and soothing effect also reflects on the audience because if he was not included, the play
would be a lot more negative and the audience would be more likely to feel insecure about the flow of
the play. His character contrasts so much with most of the other characters that it adds diversity to
making history. It makes some scenes more interesting because of the presence of this calm and
obviously intelligent character and his political soundness can mock characters like O Donnell. When
compared to characters like O Donnell
Harry is a very likeable character and appears as someone to be trusted and relied upon.
Brian Friel also uses him and his overwhelming loyalty towards O Neill to show a weakness in O
Neill s character. O Neill uses Harry to portray certain characters via contrast and particularly O Neill
by the way he treats Harry. It often appears that O Neill takes Harry for granted showing another side
to his character that can be thought of as weakness. Also the fact that whenever O Neill puts Harry
down he regrets it almost immediately shows that O Neill is insecure and sometimes does not think
before he speaks, so Brian Friel uses Harry to show a very important side to O Neill that could have
affected his judgment during the wars he fought and led.
Harry is also an expositional character, and Brian uses him to expose

How Does Polonius Deserve To Die
In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, while Hamlet is the protagonist, the main antagonist is
arguably Polonius. He is portrayed as a cunning, bothersome character who is always submissive and
obedient to Claudius, the king of Denmark and also the uncle of Hamlet, as he is the councillor of the
king. Yet, at the same time, he is not completely malicious as he is a caring father for his son and
daughter, Laertes and Ophelia. In Act 3, scene 4, Polonius is murdered by Hamlet, who mistakens him
for Claudius. This death of Polonius is the most controversial death in the play in that some argue he
deserved to die for his wrongdoings to Hamlet, and some claim the opposite that he did not deserve to
die. Although from Hamlet s perspective Polonius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After hearing Ophelia s description of Hamlet s abnormal behavior after he gets rejected by her,
Polonius concludes that his neglected love hath made him mad (2.2.122). Therefore, in order to
confirm the origin of Hamlet s madness, Polonius constantly spies Hamlet. He looses [his] daughter to
purposely arrange an encounter between her and Hamlet and secretly listens to him hiding behind the
scene; then further on, he again spies him in Gertrude s bedroom and observes his conversation with
his mother (2.2.176). Thus, Polonius keeps tries to manipulate Hamlet s life and interferes with his
privacy in order to see his madness. This is a clear wrongdoing of Polonius, as his actions would be
considered immoral, and, therefore, Polonius spying on Hamlet shows more evidence why Hamlet
would justify Polonius death. However, although Polonius actions seem extreme and might have
caused Hamlet deteriorate more, they, in fact, were simply to help the people he sincerely cared for:

an attack on lookout mountainn and then captured it after six hours of fighting! The battles went on

But the last time Sherman was ordered to lead the troops in an initial attack was a failure. A second

Women Should Be Integrated Into Combat Positions
Women should be integrated into combat positions such as infantry, artillery, and Special Forces. If a
woman chooses this kind of challenge, then she is more than capable. Women are as tough as men.
They can do what a man can do, and if that is going into combat then yes, why not? Women can fight,
shoot, run, work hard, and win for this country like the men of this country do. Women have been in
combat for a long time, but now women are actually in combat rather than helping the men out with
injuries, being a laundresses, a cook, and a nurse. Women can go into combat, just like a man.
Women should be let onto infantry and artillery positions. Women have been involved in our nation s
military since the Revolutionary War, serving not only as nurses and cooks, but also supplying water
to thirsty soldiers on the battlefield. Throughout history, men have always fought our battles while
women stood by, but what if I told you that in some countries, women are fighting alongside men
inside combat zones? Here in the U.S., there is an immeasurable disagreement about equality in the
military. One of the supporting arguments is that several other countries outside the U.S. already have
women serving on the front lines. Countries such as Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, all have
allowed women to serve in any type combat that they qualify in and or meet requirements. While there
are several countries that don t allow women in combat, the U.S. has recently had the biggest sparring

Analysis Of A Poison Tree By Langston Hughes
The song Miss Missing You by Fall Out Boy states Sometimes before it gets better / The darkness gets
bigger/The person that you d take a bullet for is behind the trigger (16 18). These three lines speak the
message of, life is not easy, sometimes it gets difficult before it gets easier. In the same fashion, the
poems A Poison Tree by William Blake and Mother to Son by Langston Hughes both have this same
message that life is not easy and mistakes will be made, but do not become bitter, instead, keep going
forward, and things will get better.
Through A Poison Tree, William Blake shows that life is not easy and mistakes will be made, but if
people do not move on, things will not get better. In this particular poem, the author uses
personification to show their anger growing by giving it the characteristics of a plant. Blake uses
personification in phrases such as my wrath did grow. / And I watered it in fears and it grew both day
and night. / Till it bore an apple bright (4 5 and 9 10). This shows how this person becomes angrier
over time, fueling their feelings with fear and sadness. The poem ends with the person using their
anger to hurt someone else, only making things worse. This device expresses the theme because the
person in the poem did not do what they should have done. What they should have done was let things
get better on their own, instead they chose to let their feelings take over. In turn, they became bitter
and thirsty for revenge. Another device Blake uses is imagery because it shows again how this person
let their anger grow. Blake combines the use of personification and imagery in stanza two by saying,
And I watered it in fears, / Night morning with my tears: / And I sunned it with smiles, / And with soft
deceitful wiles (5 8). By using these two literary devices, he creates an image of someone watering
this plant with evil, while also having a Grinch like smile on their face. One could even go more into
detail and say that the nutrients in the soil are the evil ideas that the plant thrives off of to grow. This
shows that people should not let their anger get the best of them, but instead should move on to better
things. Similarly in Mother to Son, Langston Hughes conveys

The Big Data Is Preserve Privacy Information Of The...
The most important and significant challenge in the big data is to preserve privacy information of the
customers, employees, and the organizations. It is very sensitive and includes conceptual, technical as
well as legal significance. Any collected information about a person, when combined with other sets
of data, can lead to the finding of persons secret and private information. As big data expands the
sources of data it can use, the trustworthiness of each data source needs to be verified, and techniques
should be explored to identify maliciously inserted data (Jaseena K.U. Julie M. David). Big data gives
us a significant opportunity in the field of national security, a breakthrough of diseases, medical
researchers, marketing and business analysis, urban planning, and so on. But these exceptional
advantages of big data are also restricted by the privacy concerns and the data protection. On the other
side, privacy is a huge concern. Critical pieces of information of users are collected and used in
furtherance to add value for any businesses. This is done by exploiting the insight in their personal
information, and in most of the cases, users are totally unaware of it. The user might not want to share
his/ her information. But, it is already being known to the data owner without the consent or even

South Syrian City Of Deraa Devolved Into A Full Blown...
In March 2011, peaceful protests in the southern Syrian city of Deraa devolved into a full blown civil
conflict. Within the last five years, more than 12.2 million people have been impacted, with 7.6
million people displaced inside Syria and more than 3.8 million displaced in neighboring nations. The
majority of refugees are now living in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and Iraq. The current concern
about the humanitarian crisis is whether the aid is reaching refugees or being diverted in ways that
bolster a prolonged civil war. For this essay s purpose, aid is defined as aid and action designed to
save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain and protect human dignity during and in the aftermath of
man made crises and natural disasters, as well as to prevent and strengthen preparedness for the
occurrence of such situations.
Although the current aid set up is intended to cover all existing needs inside Syria, national and
international aid is being highly controlled by the Bashar al Assad regime, and aid beyond the
Damascus borders is extremely limited. Recently, there have been numerous reports issued by the
Syrian government that opposition rebels are seizing international aid, and rebels responded with
accusations of regime forces starving besieged towns. Thus, humanitarian aid organizations are
required to distribute aid through local non governmental organizations (NGOs) that are already
operating at full capacity and have a limited geographical scope. This atmosphere

Custom House in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter...
In the quot;Custom House, quot; written as an introduction to The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne gives an
autobiographical description of his life and times. The detailed descriptions of the scenes and people
not only prepare the reader for the author s style, but also aim at recreating the author s past. The
preface concentrates on the author s period of service at the Custom House during which time he came
into contact with several people and had the opportunity to study human behavior. The description of
his co employees and others shows the author s deft hand at characterization, which is revealed during
the novel. Further, the preface serves the purpose of giving a background to the novel and introduces

CHAPTER 1: The Prison Door
The first chapter gives a description of the dark and gloomy nature of the prison that was established
in the quot;vicinity of Cornhill quot; by the early settlers. The prison is described as an quot;ugly
edifice quot; and quot;black flower of civilized society quot;. Weeds grow in front of the gloomy
structure, where a group of Puritans, dressed normally in their dull clothing, has gathered. The only
positive image in the whole setting is a single rosebush that stands beside the weeds. It foreshadows
that there will be some brightness amidst this quot;tale of human frailty and sorrow. quot;
Notes
The purpose of this opening chapter is to set the scene for the novel in seventeenth century
Boston. A crowd of Puritans has gathered at the prison and as always, they wear quot;sad colored
quot; clothing. The description of the dark and gloomy prison sets the mood for the entire story and
foreshadows the situations of Hester Prynne and Arthur Dimmesdale. She is outwardly
quot;imprisoned quot; for her sin through her alienation and isolation; he is inwardly quot;imprisoned
quot; by his mental anguish and deterioration. Hawthorne obviously chooses to begin his

Why The US Needs An Official Language Summary
In the article Why the U.S. Needs an Official Language, author Mauro E. Mujica talks about the
importance of the US having an official language. The author provides many statistics to persuasive
the audience that there are so many costs associated with the US not having an official language.
According to the author, there are two main arguments why the US should have an official language.
One of the arguments is that multilingualism is something that has a very high cost. The second reason
is that the author believes that the lack of an official language is causing a lot of divide amongst the
Americans.
In this essay the target audience are the people around the world, but she mainly focus on the people

Narrative Experience Of Ramadan
The tutorial class was filled with anticipation. Something was going to happen. Every Muslim friend
of mine lamented at how slow the clock was ticking or so it seemed. As the time drew nearer, many
just halted their tasks and began to countdown. Suddenly, the clock struck five. The quiet and dull
atmosphere was transformed into a noisy and exciting one. This marked the class ended and they were
ready to break their fast soon. I was invited by my course mates to experience Bazaar Ramadan. A
thought of Jalan Masjid India and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman Bazaar Ramadan came to my mind.
Thus, I suggested bringing along my friends from Penang to witness the exciting and fun filled

A Game Of Balls And Bats
Similar Sports This is a game of balls and bats played by two teams, each consisting of nine players.
The object is to score runs by hitting a fair ball with the bat. The field is a diamond shape with bases
in each corner with an order of first, second, third, and home. After the ball is hit, the runner runs
counterclockwise around the bases. When a batter gets to home plate, a point is scored. The batter
waits at home plate to receive a pitch from the opposing team s pitcher. The pitcher is set up equally in
the middle of all four bases. There is an outer field on the opposite side of home plate where the ball
can also be hit to. Each defensive player has a position in the field. The batter gets three chances to
make contact with a good pitch. For each good pitch missed, the batter receives a strike. For every
pitch that is not good, or outside the strike zone, the batter receives a ball. If the batter gets three
strikes it counts as an out. If a batter receives four balls they are allowed to proceed or walk to first.
When a ball is hit foul, it will result as a strike, though a batter cannot receive a third strike from a foul
ball. When the ball is hit, the fielders are expected to get the ball and throw it to the closest base of
which a runner is heading to. If the ball is caught in the air by the fielders, the runner is called out.
There are three outs per inning, then the teams switch sides. If a pitch is hit over the outfield fence it
results in a homerun and the

7 Features Of Macro Photography
To put it simply, macro photography is a fancy way of saying extreme close up or magnified image.
These objects are magnified to their actual life size or even greater.
WHAT IS MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY?
Have you ever wondered what that little flower symbol is on your camera? Who said you had to be a
professional photographer to take extremely close photos? The Macro mode will surprise you with its
incredible features. Taking photos so extremely close to an object is like entering a different world in
photography. Macro photos bare a real uniqueness that no other genre of photography can show. The

The first lens creates the image and the second enlarges the object.
Tripod
Having a tripod is important in macro photography because it helps keep the camera stable while
being so close. This helps prevent the picture turning out blurry or unfocused.
7 steps on how to capture that perfect Macro shot
MACRO MODE
1. You will need to turn your camera on to macro mode . There should be a small symbol that looks
like a tulip flower on the settings that will switch it to macro. Doing this will change the zoom and
allow you to capture images at its actual size.
STABILITY
2. Set your tripod up in a position that is stable and not moveable. Macro photography requires no
camera movement and a lot of focus. The closer you get to the object, the more it will shake while
trying to take the picture. To avoid this, make sure your tripod is sturdy and will not shake.
LIGHTING
3. If there is not enough natural lighting or you re in a dark room, you will need to use flash or you can
make your own artificial lighting. You can create a golden effect by using gold tinfoil to reflect onto
the object. Natural lighting is always going to be a better option rather than using flash or artificial

Religion And Its Role Of A Peace Keeper By French...
Religion, as described by French Sociologist Émile Durkheim, connotes a unified system of beliefs
and practices, relative to sacred things (Durkheim, 1965). The word unified suggests religion plays the
role of a peace keeper, presenting individuals with a shared sense of understanding through the rituals,
as well as the belief in a higher power or God. Within a contemporary society, religion is arguably
playing a different role to that which it played during the early 20th century, a time throughout which
Durkheim s sociological influence and research was prominent. Contemporary, postmodern societies
are far more likely to use and exploit religion in a varying way, for many reasons technological
advances and media takeovers, not to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Figures show that religious participation rates are indicative of a generational effect involving religion,
in which 48% of children tend to follow either their mother or (a little less often) their father into their
religion (Voas, 2005). In this case, the influence from parents is arguably the main factor leading them
into religion. Voas goes on to state that for children with no religious influence from parents, the
chance of the joining a religion is significantly lower. To me, this shows that the role of religion in
contemporary societies Is not necessarily about the individuals own needs, rather it stems from family
and continues across generations. However, as Voas (2005) then goes on to outline, with each
generation comes less religiosity. Certain factors overtake the importance of religion, and thus as a
new child is born, so is another consumer of capitalism. However, one downfall of Voas research is
that It is only based on contemporary society in Britain. This factor hinders otherwise strong stand
alone statistics, which would be far more comparable had other contemporary societies been
considered.
Postmodernism and interlinking theorists are important to bring into this discussion of religion. In
recent years, postmodern researchers such as Lyon and Davie have produced inquisitive and relevant
studies on religion within the modern world. Firstly, I will outline the theory of Jesus in Disneyland
and the McDonaldization of the Church

The Use Of Spyware Into The Diabetes Foundation Website

case, ALAC is the least important moral agent because it possess vicarious moral sensitivity and

The first question presented in the case is whether or not Jake should embed the spyware. If Jake

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Scaffolds
As previously defined, a composite material consists of two or more materials where polymers are
used as matrix materials usually. These materials behave together to produce the best properties of the
scaffold, duplicating the same composite features of bone. In particular, polymer based composite
scaffolds may mimic the structure of natural bone which is mainly made of HA and collagen. Showing
better osteoconductivity, HA can be considered the inorganic reinforcing phase of the composite
scaffold, while polymers such as PCL, PLLA, PGA, PLGA function as the organic matrix. Bioactive
phases creating reinforcement in the polymer based composite can also change the degradation
behavior. Composite scaffolds made of polymer reinforced with HA seem to be promising substrates

ATLANTA Critique
Ever heard of the show ATLANTA? Probably not, on the spectrum of things, it s a show on FX that

preparing for battle with NBC news. It was a whole new experience, but I think the soldiers were glad
they were being recorded. It shows what the government refuses to show, the harsh reality and
treatment of war. The difference in two is detail, the article is way more detailed in what happened
with the camera crew, while the song is just a catchy tune but also reality. Also, the song may just be
what the artist heard about the war, but to me since the name is Handsome Johnny. I feel as though it s

The main goal of this article was to evaluate how voters participated on the internet during the 2004
election. Unlike previous years, the 2004 election saw an increase in voter participation amongst the
younger crowd. One of the contributing factors to this increase was the Internet. The internet as a
whole has helped restructure how political campaigns are run and set forth a new objective: to gain the
young vote. The problem was that young voters, when compared to older generations, were not as
active in the presidential campaigns and lacked the motivation to participate. The solution to this
problem was to redefine how the internet connected with the voters and to encourage involvement
with the campaign itself. The traditional television

Conflict Theory And Social Learning Theory
Fruitvale Station
Jenna Shirley
University of New England
Fruitvale Station is a movie that has the capability to bring many emotions to the surface. This movie
can foster critical thinking, but it can also draw the viewer in to experience the raw emotions and
suspenseful moments of this real life story. Unfortunately, Oscar Grant s life was ended abruptly after
he spent the night celebrating the New Year with his friends and girlfriend, Sophina. From this story, it
is clear that Oscar was attempting to change his story by being a better father to his daughter, Tatiana,
thinking about marrying Sophina, and better providing for his family by getting a stable job and being
a man that his mother and sister could rely upon. While the incident that occurred at Fruitvale Station
could be analyzed from any variety of theories, this paper will examine these events from the lens of
Conflict Theory and Social Learning Theory. These theories intertwine in many ways, but they also
differ from each other in very important aspects. Fruitvale Station is a cinema depiction of a true story
involving the death of Oscar Grant in a train station in Oakland, California during the early morning
hours of January 1, 2009. This incident has sparked many civil rights related protests and discussions.
Oscar Grant was survived by his mother, who has been very vocal since the incident, fighting for
equal rights for minorities, his sister, and his daughter, Tatiana (Johnson).

Into Thin Air Themes
Mortality had remained a conveniently hypothetical concept, an idea to ponder in the abstract. Sooner
or later the divestiture of such a privileged innocence was inevitable, but when it finally happened the
shock was magnified by the sheer superfluity of the carnage
This is the most important quote because in the book Krakauer realizes his mortality and the others
around him. The mortality is a common theme and is explored through the narrative of the hiker Jon
Krakauer in this story. He realizes while on the climb the mortality of us and recounts his experiences
and the difficulties he had to face while on the climb.. Into thin air chronicles the story of a group of

The people died because they were caught in the middle of a storm while on the highest peak in the
world.
The song chosen was appropriate because of the lyrics and tone. The lyrics reflected someone getting
caught up in a storm and having a very difficult time like Krakauer. The song s tone is somber and
melancholy, reflecting how many of the climbers felt during the incident. The only issue with the
sounds is that it is country and that it doesn t blend well with the book. However the writing and tone
of the song fit very well.
Phase 3: Chapter 11 is the most important chapter of the book. This chapter is so important because
this is where the first person dies. Until this point no one has died and everyone is doing relatively o.k.
The reason why this first person dying is so important is because it marks a shift in the book. Things
start to take a turn for the worst for the climbers. The climber Chen falls 70 feet and survives. Only
after he back up and O.K. does he go unconscious and pass out and then he actually dies before the
crew to help save him can get to him.
The reason why the turning point is important is because this is where Krakauer starts to develop his
themes and idea on mortality. The fact that Chen dies so quickly surprises Krakauer, one minute the
person is standing right there in front of you and the next minute he falls unconscious and dies. The
strange part about it is that the Taiwanese leader after Chen s death got over

(Posner). Their primary source was Glenda Grabow, a 53 year old living in Booneville, Tennessee
(Posner). She knew Raoul when he was younger and later said that he bragged about killing Martin

The Effects Of Anime And Related Products On The American...
Anime over the past few decades has decade increasing important in American society. This is
important as anime and related products generate over 1/3 of international media revenue (Shirong Lu,
2009). For example, the English release of the Japanese mobile app, Pokémon GO, has gone viral in
the United States, with people young and old playing and catching Pokémon. Every year in California,
Anime Expo was held bringing over people from all around the world. This year there was overall
turnout of over 300,000 people to the convention. Funimation, a leading supplier of anime across
North America, has convert several animes since 1994, creating an English version for viewers to
enjoy and broadcasting newly release shows. People daily cosplay, designing and creating outfits,
dressing as different anime characters and attend different events. Anime has a huge impact today not
only in the United States, in the several other countries around the world, converting into over 30
languages (Shirong Lu, 2009). It is important to see how people view race in anime since it has an
international audience.

Highwaymen of the Superhighway Essay
The internet is an unregulated and chaotic environment that is only loosely governed by social norms
that have been established by the more well respected users leading the rest over many years. The
anonymity of these billions of users allows them to break these rules and conventions with little risk of
negative consequence. One of the biggest problems that stems from this is the pirating of media.
Internet pirates will make media such as movies, television shows, and music available on websites
such as The Pirate Bay, where users can download this content this free. This system takes money
away from creators and designers and gives it to the advertisers on pirating websites.
There are two reasons that people pirate media: either the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If everyone pirates their material, they won t make enough money to pursue their dream, and so
pirates ironically run the thing that they enjoy into the ground.
The first real attempt at public policy against internet piracy began with SOPA and PIPA, twins bills
introduced in early 2012, that were designed to give the government the right to block the domain
names of infringing sites and allow rights holders to seek court orders requiring payment providers,
advertisers, and search engines to stop doing business with an infringing site. (Newman) In layman s
terms, the bills gave them the power to take down any website they believed to be committing piracy
and to cut off that website from any advertisers or search engines, and any site accused would have
five days to appeal its case.
The problem with these bills was that they were extremely broad and gave the government too much
power, as well as not actually solving the problem. The majority of internet pirates are well versed in
computer programming, and the bills only allowed the government to shut down a websites domain,
not it s IP. A website s domain is it s web address, be it google.com or wikipedia.org. However, every
place on the internet has an IP address, which is most easily relatable to a social security number. If a
website was shut down by SOPA or PIPA, it could no longer be accessed by its domain, but it would
still exist and could

  • 2. The Role of Capitalists Essay Nick Reynolds 12/4/14 U.S History G Block The Role of Capitalists DBQ Many capitalists worked to shape post Civil War America through building new businesses to employ many people and create new jobs as well as change America through creating new inventions such as a faster and cheaper way of producing steel and discovering the uses and increasing demand for oil. All of these inventions would change America, with the faster and more efficient method of steel production massive skyscrapers rose in the nation s great cities and as oil refining rose so did the popularity of the automobile. With these businesses exploding it created many new jobs and allowed for those who controlled these industries to become some of the richest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another time we see these Robber Barons using their money all for themselves is in document F titled, Vanderbilt Summer Cottage showing a massive mansion in Newport Rhode Island. This mansion is enormous and is only used as as a house for a quarter of the year. Vanderbilt spent enormous amounts of money on this mansion that he would barit ely even use instead of using it to raise the pay of his workers or just share with the less fortunate. With all the money he spend on his own pleasure he could have impacted hundreds of lives of those who work for him who struggle every day to allow for him to achieve his fortune. This image of a summer cottage shows how Vanderbilt and the Capitalists of this time were not Captains of industry but infact Robber Barons. In document H Clement Studebaker gives a testimony to the Chicago Conference on Trusts stating, No true monopoly is possible in this country except that enjoyed by a virtue of a patent granted by the United States . This quote suggests that these Robber Barons have partially achieved their fortune through luck as nobody had gotten to the patent before them allowing for them to create a monopoly. The Capitalists if the time should have recognized their luck and allowed for other businesses to start up as theirs had and have a fighting chance instead of destroying the opposition in the fight towards a monopoly. ... • 3. Reality Versus Perception in the Kasdan Films, Grand... Reality Versus Perception in the Kasdan Films, Grand Canyon and Mumford All of knowledge is founded on axioms: assumptions that are agreed upon for stability. However, since those axioms are assumptions and cannot be proven without a doubt, nothing ca truly be known with absolute certainly. Still, in order to carry on with life, assumptions have to be made. Knowing this, the task becomes making assumption that are more educated and, given the lack of certainty, ones that matter. More specifically, attention will be drawn to the variable perception of these realities in Grand Canyon, and the notion of reality being variable in the first place from a look at Mumford. A number of events occur within Grand Canyon, which are interpreted differently by different characters. In the beginning Mac is being harassed by a gang and thus gets, in a manner of speaking, saved from a worse fate by Simon. Mac believes this to be some sort of blessing or even divine intervention. Though if not, he certainly attributes some greater force than random occurrence to the favorable turn of events. Mac and Simon s conversation following the incident shows that Simon may have a more rationally slanted perspective. Simon s telling of a story about the shark illustrates that Mac s meeting of the gang is a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that these things happen as a way of the way things are. Though Simon does question whether or not it is the way things are supposed to be. Later in the story, the money minded movie producer Davis gets shot. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She also proposes to handle excessive price setting for medical companies, out of pockets costs, and providing credit to those facing higher health expenses. Trump, on the other hand, wants to completely get rid of the Obamacare, and focus on a more patient centered health care system. Trump wants families and doctors to be the main decision makers in medical situations, as well as pushing to make affordable health care across state lines. • 5. Flood Case Study Other Factors Contributing to the Flood The Arun and Sunkosi sub catchments of the upper catchment area contribute to the intensity of floods, with the former possessing highest surface runoff potential (Wakode et al., 2013). As the Kosi River exits at the base of the mountain, the ability to transport sediment is dampened, leading to deposition of sediment and aggradation (Kale, 2008). High silt content in the river was due to soil erosion and landslides and the presence of narrow gorges (Wakode et al., 2013). The construction of the eastern embankment increased aggradation on the western side of the river, making the embankment vulnerable to breaching (Sinha, 2009). They are more deadly than ordinary floods because they intensify the moment the dams and embankments experience failures and breaches respectively (Singh and Kumar (2013); Singh and Kumar, 2017). The high discharge of water from rivers can cause extensive damage to life and property (Singh Kumar, 2017), both of which include livestock, croplands and public utilities (i.e. electricity, telephones, and roads) (Singh Kumar, 2013). For instance, a lot of agricultural land was rendered uncultivable because the flood had transported and deposited excess sediment (Chakraborty et al., 2010). Singh and Kumar (2013) noted that millions of people in India are affected by flash floods yearly. In this regard, it can be deduced that countless people were displaced, many villages were flooded, and Bihar s infrastructure was compromised (Kale, 2008). While there have been no reliable estimate of deaths and loss of properties for the flood event, it can be said that more than 30 million people were affected (Sinha, 2009). Alternative 3 Home to Stay One way D.C. can enhance the performance of Rapid Re Housing programs and lower the rate of individuals/families returning back to homelessness is to emulate the model that NYC has been following for the past few years. A few years ago NYC launched the Home to Stay program (Bornstein, 2014). Home to Stay is a partnership between New York s Department of Homeless Services and four other organizations committed to fighting homelessness (Bornstein, 2014). Home to Stay uses an evidence based protocol known as Family Critical Time Intervention which is intended to motivate individuals and heads of families over nine months to take an advantage of support services, such as addiction and mental health counseling, conflict mediation, and improvement of job prospects (Bornstein, 2014). The program follows an extensive and rigorous screening procedure in order identify and select the most vulnerable and needy homeless individuals and families who must have access to the supportive services the program provides (Bornstein, 2014). Though Home to Stay does not target the homelessness population as a whole, program expansion is a future possibility. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the central european area including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno, Sobibor, and Majdanek. Harry Hoveden is obviously an important character in the play because he plays a major part in the play, and appears in most of the major scenes. It is also clear that he is important to O Neill because he is often the one person he turns to in times of crisis. It makes some scenes more interesting because of the presence of this calm and obviously intelligent character and his political soundness can mock characters like O Donnell. When compared to characters like O Donnell Harry is a very likeable character and appears as someone to be trusted and relied upon. Brian Friel also uses him and his overwhelming loyalty towards O Neill to show a weakness in O Neill s character. O Neill uses Harry to portray certain characters via contrast and particularly O Neill by the way he treats Harry. It often appears that O Neill takes Harry for granted showing another side to his character that can be thought of as weakness. Also the fact that whenever O Neill puts Harry down he regrets it almost immediately shows that O Neill is insecure and sometimes does not think before he speaks, so Brian Friel uses Harry to show a very important side to O Neill that could have affected his judgment during the wars he fought and led. Yet, at the same time, he is not completely malicious as he is a caring father for his son and daughter, Laertes and Ophelia. In Act 3, scene 4, Polonius is murdered by Hamlet, who mistakens him for Claudius. If a woman chooses this kind of challenge, then she is more than capable. Women are as tough as men. They can do what a man can do, and if that is going into combat then yes, why not? Women can fight, shoot, run, work hard, and win for this country like the men of this country do. Women have been in combat for a long time, but now women are actually in combat rather than helping the men out with injuries, being a laundresses, a cook, and a nurse. Women can go into combat, just like a man. Women should be let onto infantry and artillery positions. Women have been involved in our nation s military since the Revolutionary War, serving not only as nurses and cooks, but also supplying water to thirsty soldiers on the battlefield. Throughout history, men have always fought our battles while women stood by, but what if I told you that in some countries, women are fighting alongside men inside combat zones? Here in the U.S., there is an immeasurable disagreement about equality in the military. One of the supporting arguments is that several other countries outside the U.S. already have women serving on the front lines. • 16. Analysis Of A Poison Tree By Langston Hughes The song Miss Missing You by Fall Out Boy states Sometimes before it gets better / The darkness gets bigger/The person that you d take a bullet for is behind the trigger (16 18). These three lines speak the message of, life is not easy, sometimes it gets difficult before it gets easier. In the same fashion, the poems A Poison Tree by William Blake and Mother to Son by Langston Hughes both have this same message that life is not easy and mistakes will be made, but do not become bitter, instead, keep going forward, and things will get better. Through A Poison Tree, William Blake shows that life is not easy and mistakes will be made, but if people do not move on, things will not get better. In this particular poem, the author uses personification to show their anger growing by giving it the characteristics of a plant. Blake uses personification in phrases such as my wrath did grow. / And I watered it in fears and it grew both day and night. / Till it bore an apple bright (4 5 and 9 10). This shows how this person becomes angrier over time, fueling their feelings with fear and sadness. The poem ends with the person using their anger to hurt someone else, only making things worse. This device expresses the theme because the person in the poem did not do what they should have done. What they should have done was let things get better on their own, instead they chose to let their feelings take over. In turn, they became bitter and thirsty for revenge. Another device Blake uses is imagery because it shows again how this person let their anger grow. Blake combines the use of personification and imagery in stanza two by saying, And I watered it in fears, / Night morning with my tears: / And I sunned it with smiles, / And with soft deceitful wiles (5 8). By using these two literary devices, he creates an image of someone watering this plant with evil, while also having a Grinch like smile on their face. One could even go more into detail and say that the nutrients in the soil are the evil ideas that the plant thrives off of to grow. This shows that people should not let their anger get the best of them, but instead should move on to better things. Similarly in Mother to Son, Langston Hughes conveys ... The most important and significant challenge in the big data is to preserve privacy information of the customers, employees, and the organizations. The majority of refugees are now living in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and Iraq. Although the current aid set up is intended to cover all existing needs inside Syria, national and international aid is being highly controlled by the Bashar al Assad regime, and aid beyond the Damascus borders is extremely limited. Recently, there have been numerous reports issued by the Syrian government that opposition rebels are seizing international aid, and rebels responded with accusations of regime forces starving besieged towns. The prison is described as an quot;ugly edifice quot; and quot;black flower of civilized society quot;. Weeds grow in front of the gloomy structure, where a group of Puritans, dressed normally in their dull clothing, has gathered. The only positive image in the whole setting is a single rosebush that stands beside the weeds. A crowd of Puritans has gathered at the prison and as always, they wear quot;sad colored quot; clothing. • 28. A Game Of Balls And Bats Similar Sports This is a game of balls and bats played by two teams, each consisting of nine players. The object is to score runs by hitting a fair ball with the bat. The field is a diamond shape with bases in each corner with an order of first, second, third, and home. After the ball is hit, the runner runs counterclockwise around the bases. When a batter gets to home plate, a point is scored. The batter waits at home plate to receive a pitch from the opposing team s pitcher. The pitcher is set up equally in the middle of all four bases. There is an outer field on the opposite side of home plate where the ball can also be hit to. Each defensive player has a position in the field. The batter gets three chances to make contact with a good pitch. For each good pitch missed, the batter receives a strike. For every pitch that is not good, or outside the strike zone, the batter receives a ball. If the batter gets three strikes it counts as an out. If a batter receives four balls they are allowed to proceed or walk to first. When a ball is hit foul, it will result as a strike, though a batter cannot receive a third strike from a foul ball. When the ball is hit, the fielders are expected to get the ball and throw it to the closest base of which a runner is heading to. If the ball is caught in the air by the fielders, the runner is called out. There are three outs per inning, then the teams switch sides. • 31. Religion And Its Role Of A Peace Keeper By French... Religion, as described by French Sociologist Émile Durkheim, connotes a unified system of beliefs and practices, relative to sacred things (Durkheim, 1965). The word unified suggests religion plays the role of a peace keeper, presenting individuals with a shared sense of understanding through the rituals, as well as the belief in a higher power or God. Within a contemporary society, religion is arguably playing a different role to that which it played during the early 20th century, a time throughout which Durkheim s sociological influence and research was prominent. Contemporary, postmodern societies are far more likely to use and exploit religion in a varying way, for many reasons technological advances and media takeovers, not to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Figures show that religious participation rates are indicative of a generational effect involving religion, in which 48% of children tend to follow either their mother or (a little less often) their father into their religion (Voas, 2005). In this case, the influence from parents is arguably the main factor leading them into religion. Voas goes on to state that for children with no religious influence from parents, the chance of the joining a religion is significantly lower. To me, this shows that the role of religion in contemporary societies Is not necessarily about the individuals own needs, rather it stems from family and continues across generations. However, as Voas (2005) then goes on to outline, with each generation comes less religiosity. Certain factors overtake the importance of religion, and thus as a new child is born, so is another consumer of capitalism. However, one downfall of Voas research is that It is only based on contemporary society in Britain. This factor hinders otherwise strong stand alone statistics, which would be far more comparable had other contemporary societies been considered. Postmodernism and interlinking theorists are important to bring into this discussion of religion. In recent years, postmodern researchers such as Lyon and Davie have produced inquisitive and relevant studies on religion within the modern world.
