This document provides information on game reserves and wildlife sanctuaries located across Pakistan. 5.  INTRODUCTION
A game reserve is an area where shooting
and hunting of wild animals is regulated
under permit.
Many game reserve are located in Africa
Besides National parts and Jungles there
are many a wetlands and water reserves
that serve as wild life sanctuaries and
game reserves for many species of birds ,
mammals and reptiles

8. KPK / Northern Area Wildlife
Sanctuaries and games reserves
 Tanda dam wildlife reserve, Spread over 408ha is
a small water storage reservier.
 Supporting irrigated agriculture and a small
fishery.

9. Thanedar wala game reserve
It is a 4,407 ha stretch of the kurram river.
Assoaiated flood plain, consisting of braided river
channels
And seasonally flooded island.
The site support small numbers of various species of
breeding and wintering waterbirds.

10. Aster wildlife sanctuary;
Covers 416 sq km on the north side of the aster
valley.
This area contain a small population of the aster
Markhor.

11. Baltistan wildlife sanctuary
BWS covers 415 sq km in Baltistan.
It lies south of the indus river b/w randu and shengus
villages.
Important wildlife includes snow leopand,brown
bear, lynx,Tibetan wolf, Tibetan fox, markhor, blue
sheep, and Asiatic ibex.

12. Tooshi game reserve
TGR covers 1000 heactares.
It has a large (about 100) and readily.
Viewable markhor population.

13. Kilik/mintake game reserve
Kilik/maintake game reserve lies along the border
with china, east of the kkh and the khunjerab
national park.
It includes 65,000 hectares of important marco polo
sheep habitat.

14. Karagh wildlife sanctuary;
 KWS covers 445 sq km of the kargah valley.
 This area contain a small population of the aster
Markhor .
 The current population is approximately 75—150.

15. Nalter wildlife sanctuary
It covers 273 sq km of the nalter vally.
A small population of aster markhor is found here.

16. Sind wildlife sanctuaries
Game reserve;
 SUKKUR AND GUDDU. Barrage dolphin reserve.
 The dolphin reserve was declared for the indus
dolphin in 1974.
 A stretch of about of 135 km of the indus river
from sukkur barrage upstream to guddu barrage.
 The river area between sukkar and guddu barrage
contains the largest population of the endangend
indus blind river population.

17. Mahal Kohistan Wildlife
Sanctuary.
 It is situated in the south of Kirthar National Park.
 Wildlife include common fox, Jackle, Jungle Cat
Chinkara Gazelle, Urial Monitor Lizard & Indian
Cobra.

18. Nara Desert Wildlife Sanctuary &
Game Reserve.
 The Nara Desert provide refuge to a large number
of Wildlife in Sindh province.
 The largest population of the Mugger Crocodile in
Pakistan is found here.
 Other animal life includes Jackal, Fox, Pangollian,
Honey Badger and Wolf.

19. Ram of kutch Wildlife Sanctuary
 Lies in the south east of the province Sindh
boarding India.
 This area is Known to be a Breeding ground for
flamingoes and staging ground for pelicans,
cranes, Starks and many species of water fowl.
 This are used to have the only population of the
Indian Wild Ass or Onangen in Pakistan.

20. Baluchistan Wildlife
Sanctuary/Game Reserve
 Cholistan Wildlife sanctuary:
 Cholistan Wildlife sanctuary is a part of
Cholistan Desert in the South coaster of the
Province of Punjab.
 Contain some of the most rare and interesting
wildlife in Pakistan.
 Some of the rare animals in this region are:
 Desert Wolf, Indian fox, Red fox, jackal and
Small Indian Mangroves.
