My classmate Genjiro is the hero of my fantasy and adventure story called "The Villagers' Hero". I enjoyed creating the setting and choosing sounds but found it difficult to develop the plot. In drafting the story, I worked to make it more fun but was proud to have written my first movie. I felt most successful in choosing music that matched the storyboard scenes and learned new technology skills in iMovie and GarageBand. While group work was sometimes faster, differing ideas made collaboration challenging, but I learned the value of teamwork. Overall, I most enjoyed crafting the story and may continue writing in the future.

1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called “The Villagers’ Hero”.
The Planning Phase:
I chose to write a fantasy and adventure genre because my favorite genres are fantasy and
adventure.The most interesting thing about my main character is that he is my
classmateGenjiro.I enjoyed creating the setting because I like to make some programs on the
computer.While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to think of ideas.My best idea
during planning was listeningand choosing good sounds.While planning this story I learned
how to make a movie.
The Drafting Phase:
It was difficult to write my story because I needed to think about how to make the story
fun.I am proud of my story because in Korea I never made movies.During the Writing
Workshops, I became better at writing skills.If I wrote it again, I would improve my story
by making the script funny.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie because it is my best work. I found it easy to create the storyboard
because we just draw pictures to match the story. My role was to be the soundtrack
engineer.I worked especially hard at choosing music and connecting it to the pictures.
The thing I am most happy with is the sounds I chose. While making the movie, I learned
many new technology skills in iMovie. I became much better at using Garage Band and
transferring music to iMovie.
If I made the movie again, I would try to write a more fun story.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because it is faster than working by myself. Other times, I
didn’t enjoy group work because our ideas were not the same as each other. While working
in a group, I learned that teamwork is easier.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed making the story.
After this unit, I might continue to write my own stories.
