1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called Monster Challenge
The Planning Process:
I chose to writeadventure and fantasy genres because adventure can make
story more exciting and fantasy can make the story more fun.The most
interesting thing about my main character is that Alex goes into the computer
game’s world and has to fight evil bats and dragon bosses.We chose to the set
the story grassland, desert and forest because the rock monster lives at the
grassland, the pyramid monster lives in the desert and the tree monster
livesin the forest.While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult because
our story had many problems to write. My best idea during planning was Alex
going to the game’s world because I think going to the game’s world is very
cool and exciting.
The Drafting & Revising Processes:
It was enjoyable to write my story draft because it was very fun to write a
climax and I learned how to make my story more exciting.I am proud of my
story because I wrote 3pages.During the Writing Workshops, I learned how to
start with dialogue, flash- back onomatopoeia and action scenes. I became
better at write stories that are more exciting and fun.While talking to
Jacqueline Harvey, I learnedthat one story can have 60,000 words.If I wrote it
again, I would try to improve my story by starting with dialogue.
Digital Production and Editing:
I am proud of my movie because we recorded our speaking, put pictures inthe
movie and we also used music in the movie. I found it difficult to create the
storyboard because it was hard to think of pictures.My role was to be the
illustrator.I worked especially hard at coloring the pictures so there was no
white in the pictures. The thing I am most happy with is drawing pictures
because I like to draw characters.While making the movie, I learned many
new technology skills in iMovie. I became much better at zooming in and
zooming out.If I made the movie again, I would try to speak louder when we
were recording the story.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because when I was work with group the
work can be finished faster.Other times, I didn’t enjoy group work because we
had different ideas. While working in a group, I learned aboutteam work.
During the unit, our group became better at collaboration.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed using iMovie because I think
choosingmusic, recording sound and putting picture in the movie is fun.
After this unit, I will continue to make stories and movies because I am good
at it.
