1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called “Blaze Saves the World”
The Planning Process:
I chose to write a historical fiction genre because I think the story like this
genre will be fun to include facts. I was inspired by books like Magic Tree
House and Time Warp Trio.The most interesting thing about my main
character is that he can use fierece lighting bolts.We chose to the set the
storyin the middle of the the desert because there are gods and goddess but
they are Egyptian gods and goddess.While making my plot diagram, I found it
enjoyableto make it because its fun to make a plan for the story.My best idea
during planning was to make the Blaze throwa lightning bolt.While planning
this story I learned how to develop a character.
The Drafting & Revising Processes:
It was difficult to write my story draft because we need to think carefully and
write the story.I am proud of my story because it’s fun to read and listen to.
During the Writing Workshops, I learned how to make story soundbetter and
I became better atusing dialogue.While talking to Jacqueline Harvey, I
learnedabout the most important step at making the story and how she gets
her creative ideas.If I wrote it again, I would try to improve my story by
making a better plan at the beginning so we can make an even better plot.
Digital Production and Editing:
I am proud of my movie because it moves very well and it has no problems.I
found it enjoyable to create the storyboard because it was fun to draw some
pictures and it was fun to plan to make a movie.My role was to be the
illustrator.I worked especially hard at drawing and coloring pictures for the
screen. The thing I am most happy with is that the pictures looked good.While
making the movie, I learned many new technology skills in iMovie. I became
much better at effects in imovie like Ken Burns.If I made the movie again, I
would try to use more new technology, such as sound effects and transitions.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work becauseits faster than working alone.Other
times, I didn’t enjoy group work because we argued with each other.While
working in a group, I learnedthat we need to communicate and decide what
to choose.During the unit, our group became better at getting ideas and
planning a story.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed making a movie using
imovie and garage band.After this unit, I will continue to make historical
fiction stories because I written it now so I think I can do it better than any
other genre.
