1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called “ The Witches’ War.”
The Planning Phase:
I chose to write a fantasy genre because my group wanted a wizard, a witch,
and a unicorn in the story.The most interesting thing about my main character
is that he had a pet unicorn.I enjoyed creating the setting because it was fun
thinking about all the different things that you would find in an imaginary
land.While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to put many details
because it was as if my head had gone blank. My best idea during planning was
to call the main character Ozwick because I wanted to call him Oz, but Xella
wanted to call him Spiderwick, so I came up with the name Ozwick, that made
everyone happy.
The Drafting Phase:
It wasdifficultto write my story because everyone wanted the story to be their
way(including me).I am proud of my story becauseit is very interesting. During
the Writing Workshops, I became better at writing and using adjectives. If I
wrote it again, I would improve my story by writing a better, more
excitingbeginning.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie becauseI love the music and I like the images a lot! I
found it easy to create the storyboard because we agreed quite easily.My role
was to be the script writer and the narrator.I worked especially hard at talking at
the right speed while recording.The thing I am most happy with is the
soundtrack. While making the movie, I learned many new technology skills in
iMovie. I became much better at managing the pictures around the screen.If I
made the movie again, I would try to convince the artist to use a different style.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because we had brilliant ideas.
Other times, I wished that all my group-mates were dead because we kept
getting into fights.During the unit, our group became better at working
together and reaching agreement.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed making movies because it was
really fun.After this unit, I will continue to write stories.
