The student wrote a fantasy story called "In Hell" about a main character who did bad things before going to hell but became good after. They enjoyed creating the setting but found plotting notes difficult. During drafting, idea generation was hard but they were proud of the story's structure. Through workshops, their dialogue improved. For the digital version, they drew pictures for the storyboard but found shortening the long story challenging. They were happy with the soundtrack and learned new technology skills in iMovie. Collaboration was sometimes enjoyable for building friendships but other times less so if only one person provided feedback. Overall, the group improved in drawing, sound, and scriptwriting through the project.

1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called In Hell.
The Planning Phase:
I chose to write a fantasy genre because it is fun to create a maincharacter who has super
powers.The most interesting thing about my main character is that he did bad things before
he went to hell and he becamea good guy after he went to hell.I enjoyed creating the setting
becauseit was fun to think of a setting for our story.
While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to write in note form.My best idea during
planning was the title and credits.While planning this story I learned how to be a good
member of our group.
The Drafting Phase:
It was difficult to write my story because it was hard to get ideas.
I am proud of my story because there was a good start, good climax, and good
conclusion.During the Writing Workshops, I became better at using dialogue.If I wrote it
again, I would improve my story by using more verbs and dialuogue because it makes a
story more interesting.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie because it has good pictures.I found it difficult to create the
storyboard because we had to make a long story to really short story.My role was to be the
script illustrator.I worked especially hard at drawing good pictures. The thing I am most
happy with is the sound track.While making the movie, I learned many new technology skills
in iMovie. I became much better at making pictures or sound tracks longer or shorter.If I
made the movie again, I would try to make the movie time shorter because our story is a bit
boring.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because it helps to make good friendships.Other times, I
didn’t enjoy group work because just jake was checking on our movie.While working in a
group, I learned how to give others a job.During the unit, our group became better at
drawing, making sounds and writing scripts.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed making the movie and drawing images for
the movie.After this unit, I might continue to draw pictures for other movies.
