Wood comes from rainforests where loggers cut down trees using chainsaws or machinery. Lumber is wood from cut trees that is used to build houses, make furniture, and produce paper and pencils. The logging industry can damage forests by clear cutting, which removes all trees and damages animal habitats and the environment. A more sustainable alternative is strip logging, which removes trees in a way that mimics natural forest growth.

How is wood collected & modified?
Wood comesfrom rainforests. Loggers collect by usingchainsaws or large
machine to cut down trees. After they finish collecting wood, they take away
the branches from the trees. Some of the loggers are interested in all typesof
wood. Some of the peopleuse it to build houses.
Lumber is wood from trees that have been
cut down to be use for building things and
making things. Everyday we use something
that has come from trees like paper, pencil,
and some the chiars that we sit on it is also
made from trees. Wood is also used as fuel
to cook.
We used it to make house and we make a home for animals. We used it to make paper
pencil and table.

How could this resource be managed better?
What is the impact of this industry?
The loggers cut a lot of trees can damagethe moretrees. When the loggers
use large equipmentto cut down specialtrees it can damage moretrees.
When all the trees dies it just onetrees that get cut down.
When the loggers use clear cutting can damage the whole rainforestsand
there will never have morefood and trees in the world and wewill have no
oxygen from the trees. When the whole rainforests get damage the animals
will get no home and no food to eat and no place to stay.
If the loggers cut down many treesit will have flood then the peoplewill
get in the flood. If cutting to many trees willcause globle warming.
Do you know that trees breath in corbon dioxicle, which is a gas causes
global warming?
There is a different kind of logging it will be called Strip logging.
This type of logging tries to copy the natural way a forestgrows.
