1. Story-telling Reflection
My Story is called Alien Destiny.
I chose to write a fantasy/adventure genre because I like magic and doing missions.The most
interesting thing about my main characters are that they turned into monsters and then they
came back to people in the last part.I enjoyed creating the setting because I liked to work
with computers.While making my plot diagram, I found it difficult to make the climax and
conclusion.
My best idea during planning was making panning and zooming.
While planning this story I learned how to make stories with computers and how to pan and
zoom.
The Drafting Phase:
It was difficult to write my story because before making stories we found songs to design
pictures and it was hard to record and color.
I am proud of my story because I did my best and I did teamwork.
During the Writing Workshops, I became better at coloring, finding music and recording
voices. If I wrote it again, I would improve my story by coloring better and I would make a
better sound with my voice in the recording.
The Digital Phase:
I am proud of my movie because the song was great and I recorded it well.I found it difficult
to create the storyboard because it was hard to put all of those words into a short script.
My role was to be the soundtrack engineer.I worked especially hard at finding songs for the
soundtrack. The thing I am most happy with is the sound recording.While making the movie,
I learned many new technology skills in iMovie. I became much better at putting pictures
and cutting pictures.If I made the movie again, I would try to make the picture better and I
will make the coloring better.
Collaboration:
Sometimes, I enjoyed group work because I didn’t have many friends in Grade3.Other times,
I didn’t enjoy group work because I wanted to do it by myself.While working in a group, I
learnedhow to not complain.During the unit, our group became better at coloring, drawing,
and story making.
What else?
During this story-telling unit I especially enjoyed coloring pictures and finding songs.After
this unit, I might continue to make stories.
