1. Finite Resources Reflection
Global Inquiry:
I learned that “finite” means something that can be used up. Some
examples of finite resources include coal, oil and gas. It is important to
conserve fossil fuels because they will run out, make pollution and
destroy the habitats of wild animals.Some alternative energy sources are
wind energy, solar energy and water energy.
While investigating the wood industry, the most interesting thing I
learned was how many trees the loggers cut each day.
Local Inquiry:
During our BISS Energy Audit, we discovered many problems, such as
some teachers don't turn off the light when they was not in the
classroom and some of the classes don't have recycle bins. So, we set
a goal to make recycle bins for each class that doesn't have recycle bin.
Taking Action:
School Conversation Campaign
It is important to reduce, reuse and recycle paper because it will save
the trees and save environment First we made a recycle bin for each
class. Then we took it down and we taught each class why we need to
recycle paper. Finally, everyday we went to the class and collected the
recycle paper. It was difficult to put the recycle paper in to the recycle
bin because when the plastic bag is narly full the paper will go to the
ground. I enjoyed this action because we are going to sell all the recycle
paper. If I took a different environmental action, I would like to save
more energy to save the environment.
Environmental Music Video
I think the most persuasive line in the lyrics is “Don't you wanna save
the earth. Don't you want a greener world.” Because this part is very
easy to remember. While working on the movie, I learned about the
shoot, the lyrics and the movement.
I enjoyed making this video because it is very fun. If I did another
music video, I would change the song then make a song by my self
because I like to make song by my self.
What else?
During this Finite Resources unit I especially enjoyed doing the
researching because I learned more about wood. After this unit, I will
continue to find more about wood.
