textile. Love for tailoring and a passion for dressmaking are key aptitudes handed down by the
great grandmother of the founder, Marina Rinaldi, who in 1850 owned and managed an important
atelier in the centre of Reggio Emilia: everything was done by hand with great attention to detail and

Benefits Of A Pension Plan
their pension plan will be there for them when they retire (5). In terms of reform the following
factors can help to make DB plans more attractive again: Risk shared plan where the cost is
explicitly shared between participants and sponsors; Target benefit plan (TBP) where accrued
benefits can be increased or decreased according to experience, and Plans where indexation of
pensions is conditional (Bakvis and Skogstad 2008, 144). The second tier consists of the CPP
and QPP, which is an earnings related program for the employed and self employed that provides
retirement, disability, and survivor benefits as well as benefits for children of deceased and
disabled contributors (Pierlot 2008, 3). The plans provide a retirement benefit of 25... Show more

This matter is not discussed in this paper. In general any reform to the CPP is meant to apply to
both the QPP and CPP. The context in which the CPP/QPP operates refers to as joint decision
federalism; although made for the purpose of mutual negotiation, it is harder to reach
agreements over important matters in the CPP (Bakvis and Skogstad 2008, 143). The federal
government and the provinces jointly administer the CPP whereas the OAS works within the
domain of only federal jurisdiction (Beland and Myles 2012, S78). First, any changes to the
CPP must have the consent of two thirds of the provinces having two thirds of the population,
which implies that any four provinces can, in concert, block a change to the CPP (Dyck 1986,
55). Second, the federal government has the authority to block any change that it disapproves
(55). These rules create a system where multiple vetoes can overpower changes to the CPP. This
makes it difficult to reach a common consensus on urgent issues and reform, since there is a
diverse range of governments with different ideologies and viewpoints (Bakvis and Skogstad
2008, 144). The requirement that assenting provinces represent two thirds of the population gives
a special veto to the larger provinces. Ontario has a veto in its own right, and will continue to
retain that power as long as more than one third of the population continues to reside within its
borders (Dyck 1986, 55) In addition; Quebec is included in

Dialectical Journal Of Ephesians
For you were once murkiness, however now you are light in the Lord. Live as offspring of light
(for the product of the light comprises in all decency, nobility and truth) (Ephesians 5: 8 9). Here
Paul develops the difference in the middle of obscurity and light (Wood, 69). They were not
oblivious and after that in the light. They were the dull and afterward they were the light.
Obscurity alludes to when they were lost and did not know the Lord. They were the light when
they were spared and got to be one in Christ. The entire passage plays on the rich imagery of
dimness and light, obscurity speaking to lack of awareness, blunder and shrewd, light speaking to
truth and exemplary nature (Stott, 199). The word, you, alludes to the Christians

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Robotics
Last hundred years robotic technology has developed in many areas such as industry, military,
medicine, domestic and science. According to Koren (1985, 2) in Czech word robot means forced
labor , therefore the main purpose of creating robots is making work easier, so in the modern world
labor robots are the most popular one. At the end of 2013 quantity of industrial robots in the world
belongs to span between 1.332 and 1.600 million units. (International federation of robotics, n. d.)

Even fifty years ago government carried about increasing of unemployment by reason of
automation rising in manufactories (The Automation Jobless 1961 quoted in Borenstein 2009).
Big factories prefer use robots to labour. An increasing of price of handmade production, when
using of manipulators costs extremely cheaper, may have been an important factor in this choice.
(Ebel 1986, 49) For human worker it means that their job is becoming less necessary, and they get
high risk to lose their workplace. (Borenstain 2009, 88). For instance, Winner (1980 quoted in

employment status of 32000 worker. On the others hand, machines are not always take away

The Theories Of The Labeling Theory
Historical Theoretical Conceptualization The labeling theory is a theoretical development
within the field of criminology, it is a theory that is used to determine self identity and behavior
of individuals. The theory is also used to classify and or describe the identity and behavior of
individuals. It is connected to the concepts of self fulfilling prophecy and stereotyping
(Paternoster Bachman, 2013). The primary authors of labeling theory are Howard Becker and
Edwin Becker. The works of these authors were started in the 1950 s. Edwin Lemert made a
distinction between primary deviance and secondary deviance, while Howard Becker focused
on the conditions under which labeling takes place. Howard Becker coined the phrase moral
entrepreneurs (Becker, 1963, p. 179), as individuals who take the lead in getting a specific
behavior negatively labeled or getting the label removed. The labeling theory s conception is
considered by many scholars to be an innovative area of research and development in the field of
criminogenic. This theory s inception was in 1963 and in 1960 the United States found itself in the
midst of a great degree of political and cultural conflict magnified by the civil rights movement, the
Vietnam War, and the expressions of love, peace, and happiness. The role that governmental
entities, such as the courts and human services agencies played in the creation of delinquency and
crime was highlighted by Howard Becker. In many accounts, the labeling theory was

Canada Target Market Segmentation
Firms that utilize market segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategy have recognized that
their product can be focused on specific portions of the market. Thus enabling the most successful
marketing of their product. These firms operate under a consideration that they are not marketing
their product onto the entire market but just onto specific portions, in order to tailor their marketing
and their products. While this type of market can be successful for some brands and products it is
not an approach that all firms can rely for success as their products must fit within the requirements
for that desired market segments. The 3 firms discussed below, Southwest Airlines, NetJets and
Target have chosen to utilize this approach to market... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

established itself within a market segment, expansion of that segment is a not a guaranteed success.

Tiny Moments
In The Epic of Gilgamesh food and drink appear in tiny moments and events with huge
significance and symbolism. If you delve deep into the details and themes of food in The Epic of
Gilgamesh, you will discover symbolism with profound meaning. One of the most obvious
examples is how Enkidu wandered the wilderness as a beast surviving on only grass and water. He
is transformed by his first taste of bread and beer. Food and drink represent much more than
sustenance, it is what separates humans and animals, the underworld from the above and it serves
as a transformative metaphor for life.
After his encounter with Shamhat, Enkidu is introduced to sexuality gaining a

Delacroix Liberty Leading The People Analysis
Scholars all agree that EugГЁne Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People (1830) represents a
commemoration of the July Revolution with an allegorical figure of Liberty guiding French
citizens over a barricade. While nobody offers an alternate reading of the subject, the methods used
vary between scholars. The hybridization of formalism, biography, and social history can be seen
as the standard approach to this work. While this approach on its own has lead to successful
readings of the painting, some of the best analyses come from scholars who included other
methodologies in their approach to the painting. The inclusion of feminism and Marxist in
readings of this work allow scholars to address the obviously present themes of gender and class.
However, some additional approaches are more successful than others, as scholars who attempt
to implement psychoanalysis are less successful due to their evidence being based in the artist s
own writings. While there have been a wide range of approaches used in the study of Delacroix s
Liberty Leading the People, there is a severe lack of a postcolonial lens. Considering how
prevalent this methodology is in studies of other works by Delacroix, a postcolonial analysis
combined with the standard hybrid approach used in all other studies would be a worthwhile
addition of the current collection of scholarship.
It is important to note that iconography and semiotics also play a major role in the scholarship on
Liberty Leading the People. Because

Profitable industries that yield high returns will attract new company s. This results in many new
entrants, which eventually will decrease profitability for all companies in the industry. Unless the

its market. JCB is a company that holds a similar place to Caterpillar in the market place, producing

The existence of products outside of the realm of the common product boundaries increases the

Logical vs. Physical Network Design
Logical vs. Physical Network Design The typical Top Down approach to network design uses a
systematic method to plan, design, and implement a new network. Generally, the Top Down
methodology involves analysis of the business requirements and goals, development of the logical
design based on such goals, development of the physical design, and a phase for testing,
optimizing, and documenting the network design. This paper focuses on the activities performed
to create a logical design of a network and then goes on to explain how the physical design is
created.
Logical Network Design It is difficult to discuss the principles of the logical design without first

Figure 1. A three layered hierarchal design model
Physical Network Design Whereas the logical design of the network most accurately reflects the
needs of the business by depicting network structure with regards to the organizational units and
requirements, the physical design is more concerned with distance, cabling, and connectivity issues.
Generally, a physical network is tied very closely with the building infrastructure and floor plan. It
depicts the physical connections of the devices and no other relationships among them. In contrast,
the logical network establishes the boundaries of subnets as a concept, not a physical connection,
using switching and VLAN techniques. The physical network design would normally follow the
logical design in a typical top down approach. The decisions made during the physical design of the
network involve the implementation suggestions of specific equipment and technology. One such
choice is the overall LAN technology such as Ethernet, FDDI, or Token Ring. The topology chosen
in the logical design usually makes this decision apparent. Also, the determination of devices such
as whether to use hubs or routers is made, how many are required, how many

which make up the organ s so called gray matter (National Geographic, n.d.). That the cerebellum
which is the second largest part of the brainis responsible for coordinating muscle movement and
controlling our balance, and the cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and other parts

largest part of the brain and it has two halves that divides into four region or lobes in each half.
The frontal lobes are involved with speech, thought, learning, emotion, and movement. The parietal

OBJECT:
The object of this experiment was to determine the density of a fluid by performing three different
methods and use that determined density to calculate the surface tension of the fluid.
THEORY:
The density of any substance is defined as the mass per unit volume and is denoted by ПЃ.ПЃ = m
/ V (1) m is the mass of a substance and V is the volume occupied by the mass. The density of a
liquid remains sensibly constant because the volume occupied by a given mass of a liquid is
almost invariable. From this it may be noted that a liquid may be taken as ... Show more content on

The apparent surface tension must undergo correction to obtain the actual value for the surface

ratio found on the ring container specific to the type of metal used to form the ring. Once the
correction factor is obtained, the actual surface tension for the liquid can be found by Пѓ = F * Пѓa

Oryx And Crake Sparknotes
Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood
As I first started to read Oryx and Crake , I was somewhat skeptical of whether or not I would
enjoy reading it. The first chapter confused me with unusual words that I have never heard or

or that is based on actual facts on a certain subject such as history or sports related. This book
came as a surprise as I started to read it because it was not as hard to understand as I thought it
would be and was actually quite enjoyable. The symbols in this book can mean many different
things based on what the reader believes since religion plays a big part in it. Margaret Atwood

Jimmy had been troubled throughout his life especially during his childhood. His parents didn t

Jimmy, you cannot have a cat. We ve been over this before. Cats might carry diseases that would
be bad for the pigoons. Jimmy did not seem to get the love that he should from his parents but
seemed to get through it. Atwood never really explained what the importance was to Oryx being

Jimmy even until the end of the story where he fights to survive when he believes that he is the

more interested towards the end of the novel as all of the clues from the beginning started to

A Summary Of The Apocalypse Of Adolescence
Introduction
Adolescence is popularly known to be a very tumultuous stage in a person s life. In the adolescent
stage (also coined the identity vs. role confusion stage by theorist Erik Erikson) bodies are changing
rapidly, emotions are unfamiliar and unexplainable, and refraining from succumbing to peer
pressure is more challenging than ever.
Erikson theorizes that in such a period, adolescents have certain tasks, one of which is identifying
who they are. An individual successfully completes the task by staying true to his or her self,
whereas when a person fails that stage, it leads to role confusion; consequently creating a weak
sense of self. (Block 2011). The stage also entails a variety of personal challenges and limitations
faced as well as a series of needs to be met, including: attention, guidance, independence, stability,
and acceptance, among other needs. Meeting an adolescent s needs is fundamental to their healthy
development and personal growth. Nevertheless, adolescence remains as puzzling of a period in
time for both the teens experiencing it, as well as for the individuals surrounding them, watching
them as they navigate through the trials that adolescence brings them.

The Snows of Kilimanjaro and The Short, Happy Life of...
Ernest Hemingway was an intricate and dedicated writer who devoted a significant portion of his
life to writing multiple genres of stories. Throughout his stories, the similarities in his style and
technique are easily noted and identified. Two of the short stories he wrote contain themes and
motifs that specifically explain the plotline. The first story, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, sets its
scene in the depths of a desolate area in Africa, where the main characters, Harry and his wife,
decide to make their home. After living there for a few years, Harry ventures out and falls into a
thorn bush, thus infecting his leg with gangrene. A few weeks later, he finds himself on the brink
between life and death, unable to treat such a severe... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber also contains the theme of arduous moral situations
for the characters. Margot, the wife of Francis, is challenged by the temptation to have relations
with their tour guide. Eventually, she commits the crime of adultery, and her husband finds out
about her crime and is deeply shaken. Well, why doesn t he keep his wife where she belongs?
What does he think I am, a bloody plaster saint? Let him keep her where she belongs. It s his own
fault (Hemingway 13). By the tone of Wilson thoughts, it is inferred that he is not able to find
fault in himself and decides to blame it on the most vulnerable person, Francis. In spite of
Wilson being the only man to blame for this whole incident, Margot can also take part of the
blame. She appears to be a faithful and caring wife, but her actions do not justify this statement.
As stated in Short Stories for Students: The phrase well kept is particularly revealing in its
multiple meanings. On one hand, Margot is fashionable and presents herself well. Furthermore,
she is kept by her husband in a state of luxurious affluence. Ironically, she is not well kept by her
husband at all, as she freely and unapologetically commits adultery. Her marriage to Francis
Macomber is obviously not a happy one. ( Short Happy 214) Margot is a fundamental aspect in the
sense that her decisions affect

Analysis Of Documentary Storytelling By Sheila Curran Bernard
The novel Documentary Storytelling by Sheila Curran Bernard delves deep into the behind the
scenes of the development of documentary. She writes powerfully and informatively on the
structure of documentary and how time on screen can be used. In the chapter entitled Planning
and Pitching, Bernard discusses the importance of selecting a cast of experts with a wide range of
viewpoints (Bernard 148). I agree with Bernard that having a diverse range of opinions may add
credibility to the film, but I must argue that having too large an amount will undermine the
direction of the film. While having a wide range of viewpoints may balance the film, those
viewpoints may contradict each other and make the concept of the film difficult to understand.

Thesis on Infant Mortality
1
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Children are vital to the nation s present and its future. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are
usually committed to providing every advantage possible to the children in their families, and to
ensuring that they are healthy and have the opportunities that they need to fulfill their potential. Yet
communities vary considerably in their commitment to the collective health of children and in the
resources that they make available to meet children s needs. This is reflected in the ways in which
communities address their collective commitment to children, specifically to their health. In recent
years, there has been an increased focus on issues that affect children and on improving their health.

was 1.3 times higher than in male infants. Discrimination, which may lead to increased mortality
among female children, has been the subject of many previous studies. The World Health
Organization has reported that the sex disparities in health and education are higher in South Asia
(Khanna et al. 2005).
The human society even having acknowledged this universal truth has been continuously trying to

under developed countries have failed in declining mortality especially infant mortality rates. The

Montana Tribe Research Paper
I felt that it was incredibly important to learn the background in all Montana Tribes and history
first before choosing a tribe to learn more about. Long before Montana became known as the last
best place, Indian people knew this area as the first best place (Whitford, p.2). The Native
Americans were promised many things. That they still have not received to this day. Later in the
1800 s, treaties started to begin between the U.S. Government and the Native Americans (Whitford,
p.2). The treaties were over the land.
In Montana, there are twelve tribal nations. Only eleven have their own homelands. This is
because they have either treaties set or have an order. The only Tribe that doe not have their own
homeland is Little Shell Band of Chippewa (Whitford, p.3). I think it is very important to
understand that each Tribe has its own story about what happened between them as a tribe and the
U.S. Government (Whitford, p. 3). How that particular tribe has overcome things that happened in
the 1800 s and today. The tribe/reservation that I have chosen to learn ... Show more content on

Essay about Gi Joe
G.I. Joe has been a brand in the market for toys since its launch in 1964 with $3 billion in sales
over the last 20 years, with 16% of the market share. Despite the brands success the GI Joe is
positioned as a physical product, as appose to an all encompassing brand and the toy market has
volatile sales depending upon trends created by consumer demand. Hasbrois now challenged to take
the G.I. Joebrand to the next level and market it in such a way that will allow the brand continues
to thrive while preserving the brands legacy.
One major issue facing G.I. Joe besides their competitor Barbie (Mattel) is that the industry has

Joe story which in turn will sell more toys. One key to Hasbro s future success will rely heavily
on its ability to develop new toy technologies conducive to growing the G.I. Joe brand by
providing an array of different products for all age groups. Another facet of the new strategy will
be to align with Hollywood and the gaming industry through exclusive licensing agreements.
Intellectual property is another critical element to G.I. Joe maintaining and increasing market share,
as it gives 3rd parties rights to popular characters for motion pictures, video games and other forms
of popular media. This helps alleviate marketing expenses while helping G.I. Joe achieve
blockbuster success. For example, toys associated with Star Wars, Spider Man, etc. have all
averaged four year returns over $130 million in sales.
The potential for success is huge because even the strongest advertising and promotion campaigns
can t compare to the increase from having a strong movie franchise and even though this option
will require a significant amount of effort to work with Hollywood to maintain the vision of the
brand, this strategy is appealing nonetheless. Hasbro would also bear no licensing fees or cost for
the movie, in fact, most films typically earn annual royalties in the several.
It is my opinion that this option will maximize the potential of the brand while preserving the rich
history of G.I. Joe and securing its

Art Therapy History
Six months ago a new record was made for the most expensive work of art sold at an auction. A
painting crafted by Pablo Picasso was sold in New York City for almost 180 million dollars. This
masterpiece was crafted by an artistic genius that has impacted almost every field of art that we
currently practice. He famously said, Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life
(Voorhies, 2015). If this is true, and art does have an impact on our very soul, it is essential for us
to educate ourselves on the topic that this paper will be focusing on, which is Art Therapy. Using
scholarly sources this paper will discuss how to integrating art therapy into the Christian faith,

From the 1940 s to the 1960 s this form of therapy grew immesnly in the United States. In the
1960 s art therapy was an idea whose time had come (Junge, 2010). All the hype did not last long.
In the 1970 s a split between the once unified body of art therapists was seen. Two lines of
thinking came about. The first was art as therapy and the second was art as psychotherapy. The first
focuses on the results during the actual process, while the second focuses on the knowledge
learned from the process. This split still continues and can even be seen in the original definition
given by the American Association of Art Therapy. Now that a definition and background of art
therapy has been given, deeper questions can be asked, such as, Is art therapy effective? Art
therapy is hard topic to find direct research on, however art therapy deals primarily with the
impact that images have on us. This is a main idea that is agreed upon by almost all art therapists,

Essay on Carbon Footprint of Coca-Cola Company
Coca Cola: Steps Toward a Greener Future
Abstract: Global climate change is a critical, environmental issue plaguing our planet. Greenhouse
gas emissions from fossil fuels have skyrocketed since the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution
thus contributing increases in average global temperature. Thus, numerous organizations and
individuals have taken action to reduce their carbon footprints in order to lessen their impact on the
environment. Coca Cola, the ever popular, soft drink corporation is one of these organizations that
is taking action to curtail its carbon dioxide emissions in order to create a greener reputation. One of

Coca Cola acquired the juice brand Odwalla in 2001 since PepsiCo had already began acquiring

consumer. Odwalla is an all natural juice brand, which sells popular juice drinks, smoothies, and
nourishment bars, which are produced, from all natural and the best quality ingredients without
any artificial additives or preservatives. Moreover, Odwalla boasts that all of its processes are eco
friendly. Thus Coca Cola may inevitably benefit a great deal from the acquisition of such an earth

that we present and analyze throughout this investigation is, whether Coca Cola the all American
company has succeeded in reducing its carbon footprint with the procurement of a greener motto.

Rhetorical Visual Analysis of Chanel Advertisement
Few people realize the true impact of product advertising, but the truth is that the modern consumer
is severely affected and often subconsciously influenced by advertisements, especially if it is a
quality and persuasive advertisement. But how does one create an effective ad? That is literally the
million dollar question that keeps the advertising industry so competitive and prosperous. The
French fashion house, Chanel, has constructed a striking and persuasive image to lure the public
into desiring and ultimately purchasing its product through the appeal of ethos and effective visual
tools.

In order to maintain its credibility, Chanel has had a number of illustrious celebrity endorsers,
including model Kate Moss, actresses Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou, and now Keira Knightley.
By having such a renowned face for its latest fragrance, Chanel has not only accomplished the feat
of maintaining its credibility, but it has enticed the viewer.
Though the advertisement is already very strong because of this prior ethos, it is even further
enhanced by its selective visual implementations. The medium of this advertisement is
photography. This was chosen because only photography is able to portray a completely realistic
image. By expressing a realistic image, Chanel suggests that this image, look, beauty, and glamour
is achievable for any woman. Chanel makes the assumption that every woman wishes to have such
qualities and will go to many lengths in order to achieve them, such as buying their product. In
order to affectively convey these desired qualities, Knightly is photographed wearing light makeup,
except for the dark smokey shadow encompassing the flesh around her eyes, suggesting drama and
allure. Knightly has a sensual yet penetratingly powerful and confident expression. The composition
of the photograph is mapped so that Knightley s eyes first capture the viewer and then their
attention is pulled up to the text in the top right corner, then down towards the fragrance bottle in
front of Knightley s bottom

Orion Magazine Based On Environmental Activism
Although Orion is a magazine based primarily on environmental activism, it also often incorporates
scientific thought and evidence. Sometimes the articles do roam into the world of eco extremism,
but I genuinely feel that by reading this website, audiences lives are enriched by its content. The
editors clearly care as much about the message each issue sends as the authors of the pieces
presented therein. The layout provides the respect to the articles and photography that they deserve.
Thus, the website Orionprovides an effective translation of science by displaying inspiration relating

The objective of Orion magazine is to not only providing valuable information to numerous

magazine s design, one sees that it is consistent with all the pages. There are many graphics

Arguments Against Capitalism
Capitalism is defined as an economic and political system in which a country s trade and industry
are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state. Base on the reading and the
fading of the word freedom in the background, the term Capitalism is portrayed in a negative light
affecting its connotation. I comprehend that the private sector is recognized as a critical driver of
economic growth, which contributes significantly to poverty reduction and higher living standards
for poor people, Although, the fading of the word freedom emphasizes that capitalism, controlled by
private sectors who provides majority of jobs to Americans, contradicts its representation of the free

This type of argument is evident in the picture because it ridicules the term freedom with our
rights by placing it as a faded concept in the background, meanwhile emphasizing on the word

system based on the principle of individual rights, and the free market, known as the system of
Laissez faire. The picture most appropriately responds to the first question of the Stasis Theory
which state, Did something happened? The choice of words used by the author created a sarcastic
tone resulting in the reader wondering if something happened. The question responds correctly to
the statement because it causes one to question and acknowledge that capitalism represents the free
market, the principle of individual rights, and the system of Laissez faire, therefore, the word
freedom being faded in the background demean the value and importance of the word when the

Many investigators have tried to solve some peculiar questions about UFO s, but many of their
conclusions cannot be proven. In 1968 the United States Air Force asked Edward U. Condon, a

crafts. (Unidentified Flying Objects, Encarta encyclopedia) The committee s final report was
reviewed by a special committee of the National Academy of Sciences and released in early

physical and photographic evidence. The report, also known as the Condon Report, concluded

Police Chief Job Application Examples
1.Given your previous experience, please explain why you feel The City of North Port is a
good fit for you. I researched this position extensively, including reviewing current and past
events involving the Police Chief, the Assistant Chief, internal issues within the department,
issues in the community, and crime issues. While some of the specifics are unique to North
Port, it is ironic that the overall issues and dynamics are very consistent with issues I have faced
and dealt with successfully in Dayton. My experiences, working a multitude of assignments and
supervisory positions in a very diverse community, have prepared me for the next level. My goal
is to be the North Port Police Chief and I am confident I can lead this department in a direction
that maintains positive morale within the department and provides a positive image within the
community. 2.All leaders at some time have made mistakes. Please provide an example of when
you have made a mistake in your role as a leader and what, if anything, you did to resolve it. I
have never been afraid to make a decision, be it in my personal life, the Military or Police work. I

Analysis Of Severus Snape
Severus Snape is one of the most beloved, and yet most despised, characters in the history of
literature. Appearing in the famed novel and movie series, Harry Potter, Snape has touched,
warmed, and broken people s hearts since the summer of 1997. When readers first met Snape in
Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, he was hated and feared as the teacher with greasy
black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin. However, it is not until the series nears its end in Harry
Potterand the Deathly Hallows, that the readers learn that Severus Snapewas cruel and brutal for
many reasons. One of the most controversial topics in literature is whether Snape was a villain or
a hero. In agreement with the latter, I believe that Snape was a hero because he was selfless and
brave. Severus Snape, although appearing ghastly and gruesome, was extremely selfless. The way
he treated Harry Potter and a number of other students made him hated and disliked by many.
Snape, a strict and feared teacher, appeared to be a very unpleasant person. However, not
everything is what it seems. Behind the monster, was a selfless man who would do anything for
love. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the readers learn that Snape did everything in his
power to shield Harry from Lord Voldemort. After his death on the second of May in 1998, Snape
s memories were transported via tear yo the Pensieve, which animates one s memories. His
memories revealed that he loved Harry Potter s mother, Lily. He and Lily

Boundaries Of Freedom Of Speech
Are there boundaries of freedom of speech and expression? If free speech is provocative, should
there be limits? Freedom of Speech means, broadly, that you are welcome to express any opinion
without being punished for having done so. Freedom of the Press respects the right to publish and
distribute factual information and opinion. Again, this can come in many forms; newspapers, TV,
social media, etc. Freedom of Speechis about what you can say; Freedom of the Press is about to
whom you can say it. In both cases, as long as people are not making up lies, it is explicit that the
government may not restrict you. Freedom of speech is the freedom to listen to others also, is
necessary for a democratic government. The Supreme Court of the United Stateshas referred to

Just being an unbiased person and listening to what others say just either agree or disagree, you
do not have to agree with what these people are saying, but just taking it in, critisizing and
educating yourself about what other opinions there are out there is important. I might not
believe in what people are saying but I will defend their right to say. In a truly free and open
society, people have the right to say pretty much whatever they want to say as long as they are
not directly harming others. Free speech is more than just a legal philosophical or political term,
it is a princibled way of life. There s a difference from being skeptical and outright denying a fact.
We see this especially in Europe where sensitivity based censorship attempts to ban deemed hateful
or even just hurtful, and to ban criticisim of

Religious Tolerance In Chaim Potock s The Chosen
Religious Tolerance in The Chosen Religious tolerance, one of the major topics of the world
today, rarely shows itself honestly. Yet, what is religious tolerance and what qualities does it
display? Honestly, Religious tolerance means holding true to one s own beliefs, while tolerating
others beliefs. Perfectly demonstrated religious tolerance does not mean agreeing with someone s
views, but instead tolerating them, if it causes no hurt toward others. Acting intolerantly of another
ideas does not include speaking about one s own ideas, but instead of hating and persecuting
others because of their ideas. Beautifully is religious tolerance demonstrated by the characters of
Chaim Potock s classic, The Chosen. The Characters who demonstrate religious tolerance include
David Malter, Reb Saunders, and Reuven Malter. Firstly, David Malter, the father of Reuven
Malter, beautifully demonstrates religious tolerance. David is a rabbi, a teacher, a zealous Zionist.
Zionism is the belief that the Jews should rebuild Jerusalem to create a Jewish state. However,
many Jews such as Reb Saunders hate Zionism and slander Zionists like David. Courteously, David

Motor learning, particularly in the early stages of learning a skill, involves attempts by learners to
acquire an idea of the movement, (Gentile, 1972) or understand the basic pattern of coordination
(Newell, 1985). To achieve these goals, learners must acknowledge; the way their muscles work
together, the subroutines of a skill, their individual practical learning process, and the way the

3.0 Information Processing Theory
There are many different models that define the Information Processing Theory, all of which
describe how we think critically. Welford s model (Welford, 1968) suggests that we take in
information through our senses and temporarily store all of these inputs prior to sorting them out.
(Figure 1) A decision is made by comparing the information in the short term memory with previous
experiences stored in the long term memory. The first stage in the information processing model is
called stimulus identification (see figure 1). The person starts off by detecting the stimulus, such as
seeing the basketball approach them from a chest pass. The next stage is the initiation of their
response. The action of catching the ball and deciding what to do from their current position comes
into play in this section of the model. If the action of a lay up is chosen, they will then complete the
movement and organise the

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
Television has been one the most influential pieces of technology as a source for entertainment.
During the earliest days of Televisions introduction into society, there were always shows
highlighting the portrayals of mothers cooking and cleaning their homes for their husbands and
children. Although, as time moved on, televisionand the shows that were channeled on it took a
dramatic turn, leaving the days of drama free entertainment as a vast memory. Today, however,
when a person turns on a television and flips through the vastness of channels on their cable
network to eventually a channel like Bravo, the screen goes on to glisten and proceeds to
portraying ritzy socialite women dealing with their everyday lives as housewives . The Real
Housewives of Atlantadeals with the everyday lives of modern day housewives living in Atlanta,
Georgia. Upon thought of these women and their family life, the reality series displays to its

millions of people around the world with the promise of authenticity and representations of

A Career In Leah Remini s The King Of Queens
Some people say that life is all about family. If something goes wrong in your life, it doesn t

right? However, when some people reach a certain age, they forget about family. Family goes from
being a top priority, to being last on a list. These people alter their priorities and they become their

Essay on The Positive Relationship Between Science and...
The Positive Relationship Between Science and Religion Introduction: Throughout history we can
find many instances where religion was strongly opposed to scientific research. For example, the
Catholic Church s objection to Galileo s defense of Copernicus heliocentric model where he offered
his observations that he felt furthered the theory that the planets revolved around the Sun. At that
time, the belief that the Holy Scriptures were perhaps inaccurate was one thing, but attempting to
confirm it as Galileo tried to do was a completely different issue and resulted in Galileo being
forbidden by the Church to write or teach his findings. Another example is the opposition to Darwin
s theory of evolution by the majority of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When reading specific verses of the Qur an it appears that in fact these scientific studies in
astronomy would serve to confirm God s greatness and the validity of the Qur an. For example;
Qur an (10:101)2 states: Behold all that is In the heavens and on earth ; But neither Signs nor
Warners Profit those who believe not. Ibn al Haytham s research into astronomy was celebrated
as a way to follow the Qur an s directive concerning prayer and religious observance of Ramadan
(Gingerich 1986) which was dependent on the correct interpretation of the phases of the moon
to correctly determine when the holy month was to occur. The study of the skies allowed
Muslims to create a calendar that would reflect in more detail how observant Muslims should
practice the Qur an commands including the direction prayer should be toward, what time of
year should Muslims participate in the Haji, and where to position the entrance for a mosque.
The Christian and Hebrew calendars did not correlate the new moon with the beginning of the
month as the Muslims did and therefore did not allow adherence to the Qur an when it stated
They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time
in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It
is virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter houses through the proper doors: And

Stylistic Devices In The Opening Ceremony
Another tendency noted in the British newspapers is the frequent use of stylistic devices such as
oxymoron, antithesis or paradoxes, in order to describe the opening ceremony and Britain. Most of
them were retrieved from The Guardian, but they were present in all the newspapers:
The latter sentence suggests that the opening ceremony, and by extension the country itself, tends
to be described as a contradictory entity. This tendency is confirmed above all in The Guardianand
in The Times. As far as the adjectives are concerned, one can see that The Guardian is more
objective than The Independent, which only showcased Britain and the opening ceremony under a
very positive light. However, a majority of positive qualifications were used, and Matthew Caines,
from The Guardian, pointed out that the newspaper was pretty much all out of adjectives to
describe the spectacle.
On the other hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reaction to Boyle s Socialist Vision of the United Kingdom
Whereas the majority of the audience praised the opening ceremony, some did not agree with the
general burst of enthusiasm. As mentioned in a previous section, one recurrent negative adjective
that was used in all of the newspapers that have been analysed is the word leftie .
That controversy ensued from a series of tweets posted by the British Conservative Member of
Parliament for Cannock Chase, Aidan Burley, on July 27, 2012, during the London 2012 opening
ceremony. The MP fiercely denounced the social and multicultural aspect depicted in the spectacle,
labelling it leftie, multicultural crap . The actual tweets were:
The most leftie opening ceremony I have ever seen more than Beijing, the capital of a Communist
state! Welfare Tribute next?
Thank God the athletes have arrived! Now we can move on from leftie multicultural crap. Bring
back red arrows, Shakespeare and the Stones!

In terms of reform the following factors can help to make DB plans more attractive again: Risk shared plan where the cost is explicitly shared between participants and sponsors; Target benefit plan (TBP) where accrued benefits can be increased or decreased according to experience, and Plans where indexation of pensions is conditional (Bakvis and Skogstad 2008, 144). The second tier consists of the CPP and QPP, which is an earnings related program for the employed and self employed that provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits as well as benefits for children of deceased and disabled contributors (Pierlot 2008, 3). The plans provide a retirement benefit of 25... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This matter is not discussed in this paper. In general any reform to the CPP is meant to apply to both the QPP and CPP. The context in which the CPP/QPP operates refers to as joint decision federalism; although made for the purpose of mutual negotiation, it is harder to reach agreements over important matters in the CPP (Bakvis and Skogstad 2008, 143). The federal government and the provinces jointly administer the CPP whereas the OAS works within the domain of only federal jurisdiction (Beland and Myles 2012, S78). First, any changes to the CPP must have the consent of two thirds of the provinces having two thirds of the population, which implies that any four provinces can, in concert, block a change to the CPP (Dyck 1986, 55). Second, the federal government has the authority to block any change that it disapproves (55). These rules create a system where multiple vetoes can overpower changes to the CPP. This makes it difficult to reach a common consensus on urgent issues and reform, since there is a diverse range of governments with different ideologies and viewpoints (Bakvis and Skogstad 2008, 144). The requirement that assenting provinces represent two thirds of the population gives a special veto to the larger provinces. Ontario has a veto in its own right, and will continue to retain that power as long as more than one third of the population continues to reside within its borders (Dyck 1986, 55) In addition; Quebec is included in ... Here Paul develops the difference in the middle of obscurity and light (Wood, 69). They were not oblivious and after that in the light. They were the dull and afterward they were the light. Obscurity alludes to when they were lost and did not know the Lord. They were the light when they were spared and got to be one in Christ. Even fifty years ago government carried about increasing of unemployment by reason of automation rising in manufactories (The Automation Jobless 1961 quoted in Borenstein 2009). • 7. The Theories Of The Labeling Theory Historical Theoretical Conceptualization The labeling theory is a theoretical development within the field of criminology, it is a theory that is used to determine self identity and behavior of individuals. The theory is also used to classify and or describe the identity and behavior of individuals. It is connected to the concepts of self fulfilling prophecy and stereotyping (Paternoster Bachman, 2013). The primary authors of labeling theory are Howard Becker and Edwin Becker. The works of these authors were started in the 1950 s. Edwin Lemert made a distinction between primary deviance and secondary deviance, while Howard Becker focused on the conditions under which labeling takes place. Howard Becker coined the phrase moral entrepreneurs (Becker, 1963, p. 179), as individuals who take the lead in getting a specific behavior negatively labeled or getting the label removed. The labeling theory s conception is considered by many scholars to be an innovative area of research and development in the field of criminogenic. This theory s inception was in 1963 and in 1960 the United States found itself in the midst of a great degree of political and cultural conflict magnified by the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and the expressions of love, peace, and happiness. The role that governmental entities, such as the courts and human services agencies played in the creation of delinquency and crime was highlighted by Howard Becker. In many accounts, the labeling theory was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If you delve deep into the details and themes of food in The Epic of Gilgamesh, you will discover symbolism with profound meaning. One of the most obvious examples is how Enkidu wandered the wilderness as a beast surviving on only grass and water. He is transformed by his first taste of bread and beer. • 10. Delacroix Liberty Leading The People Analysis Scholars all agree that EugГЁne Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People (1830) represents a commemoration of the July Revolution with an allegorical figure of Liberty guiding French citizens over a barricade. While nobody offers an alternate reading of the subject, the methods used vary between scholars. The hybridization of formalism, biography, and social history can be seen as the standard approach to this work. While this approach on its own has lead to successful readings of the painting, some of the best analyses come from scholars who included other methodologies in their approach to the painting. The inclusion of feminism and Marxist in readings of this work allow scholars to address the obviously present themes of gender and class. However, some additional approaches are more successful than others, as scholars who attempt to implement psychoanalysis are less successful due to their evidence being based in the artist s own writings. While there have been a wide range of approaches used in the study of Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People, there is a severe lack of a postcolonial lens. Considering how prevalent this methodology is in studies of other works by Delacroix, a postcolonial analysis combined with the standard hybrid approach used in all other studies would be a worthwhile addition of the current collection of scholarship. It is important to note that iconography and semiotics also play a major role in the scholarship on Liberty Leading the People. Because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Generally, the Top Down methodology involves analysis of the business requirements and goals, development of the logical design based on such goals, development of the physical design, and a phase for testing, optimizing, and documenting the network design. Generally, a physical network is tied very closely with the building infrastructure and floor plan. It depicts the physical connections of the devices and no other relationships among them. In contrast, the logical network establishes the boundaries of subnets as a concept, not a physical connection, using switching and VLAN techniques. The physical network design would normally follow the logical design in a typical top down approach. The decisions made during the physical design of the network involve the implementation suggestions of specific equipment and technology. One such choice is the overall LAN technology such as Ethernet, FDDI, or Token Ring. The topology chosen in the logical design usually makes this decision apparent. Fluid Properties Density and Surface Tension Expirement 1 Fluid Properties: Density and Surface Tension Table of Contents: OBJECTIVE1 THEORY2 3 PROCEDURE4 6 RESULTS7 8 DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION9 APPENDIX10 OBJECT: The object of this experiment was to determine the density of a fluid by performing three different methods and use that determined density to calculate the surface tension of the fluid. THEORY: The density of any substance is defined as the mass per unit volume and is denoted by ПЃ.ПЃ = m / V (1) m is the mass of a substance and V is the volume occupied by the mass. The density of a liquid remains sensibly constant because the volume occupied by a given mass of a liquid is almost invariable. From this it may be noted that a liquid may be taken as ... In the adolescent stage (also coined the identity vs. role confusion stage by theorist Erik Erikson) bodies are changing rapidly, emotions are unfamiliar and unexplainable, and refraining from succumbing to peer pressure is more challenging than ever. Erikson theorizes that in such a period, adolescents have certain tasks, one of which is identifying who they are. An individual successfully completes the task by staying true to his or her self, whereas when a person fails that stage, it leads to role confusion; consequently creating a weak sense of self. (Block 2011). The stage also entails a variety of personal challenges and limitations faced as well as a series of needs to be met, including: attention, guidance, independence, stability, and acceptance, among other needs. Meeting an adolescent s needs is fundamental to their healthy development and personal growth. Nevertheless, adolescence remains as puzzling of a period in time for both the teens experiencing it, as well as for the individuals surrounding them, watching them as they navigate through the trials that adolescence brings them. What does he think I am, a bloody plaster saint? Let him keep her where she belongs. It s his own fault (Hemingway 13). I comprehend that the private sector is recognized as a critical driver of economic growth, which contributes significantly to poverty reduction and higher living standards for poor people, Although, the fading of the word freedom emphasizes that capitalism, controlled by private sectors who provides majority of jobs to Americans, contradicts its representation of the free enterprise system. Appearing in the famed novel and movie series, Harry Potter, Snape has touched, warmed, and broken people s hearts since the summer of 1997. When readers first met Snape in Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone, he was hated and feared as the teacher with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin. However, it is not until the series nears its end in Harry Potterand the Deathly Hallows, that the readers learn that Severus Snapewas cruel and brutal for many reasons. One of the most controversial topics in literature is whether Snape was a villain or a hero. In agreement with the latter, I believe that Snape was a hero because he was selfless and brave. Severus Snape, although appearing ghastly and gruesome, was extremely selfless. The way he treated Harry Potter and a number of other students made him hated and disliked by many. Snape, a strict and feared teacher, appeared to be a very unpleasant person. However, not everything is what it seems. Behind the monster, was a selfless man who would do anything for love. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the readers learn that Snape did everything in his power to shield Harry from Lord Voldemort. Yet, what is religious tolerance and what qualities does it display? Honestly, Religious tolerance means holding true to one s own beliefs, while tolerating others beliefs. Perfectly demonstrated religious tolerance does not mean agreeing with someone s views, but instead tolerating them, if it causes no hurt toward others. Acting intolerantly of another ideas does not include speaking about one s own ideas, but instead of hating and persecuting others because of their ideas.
