In order to break the illusions Brecht used various techniques. Only the necessary
props are used during the play to portray themes or ideas to help indicate a character
s status or profession. This technique helps the audience acknowledge the idea of
watching a play rather being emotionally attached to the play. When there are few

about the situation. The performance seems realistic if minor props are also used

The High God Di and The Shang The Shang Dynasty are the first recorded dynasty
to rule over Ancient China. They were people of intellect, higher power, and
prophecies. What they are most known for are their oracle bones. These were
either made of tortoise shell or cattle scapula. As to why they chose these specific
animals and bones, whether it was a religious, or symbol for a deity or could have
been a large population of these animals, no one knows. The king would attend the
ritual of the divination by fire, where he would ask the deities a question as to why a

would then answer the question or demand translated through the cracks after setting

purpose of a nursery rhyme is to teach language to children by using different
techniques helping to stimulate their imagination, while at the same time introducing
the skill of memorization and comprehension of simple words (Zuralski). Many
nursery rhymes are fashioned as short poems with metrical rhythms, rhyme schemes

still words that a child can easily follow because of the matching syllables.
Changing slightly to examine the repetition of words in this poem, it is quite similar

in the first, ninth, and thirteenth lines of the poem. What is interesting in the
placement of the word river in the first line is that it answers the question posed in
the title Where Go the Boats? The repetition of the word river allows a child listener
to associate it with the idea that boats can be found at the river, while at the same
time identifying the question being asked in the poem. A child will become familiar
with the connection made between the boats and the river through this constant
repetition.
Another significant word that Stephenson repeats throughout this poem is the word

s use of manipulation in life changing decisions. What helps Hemingway convey this
theme is by using an objective third person point of view, which helps give the
readers an unbiased interpretation of the story. Hemingway also blends in symbolism
into his writing with using elephants and the actions of drinking that hold together
the overall theme of the story. By using these styles of symbolism and objective point
of view, Hemingway is able to convey the theme of manipulation throughout the story.
In this short story, the main characters are an American man and a woman named Jig.
The readers are able to obtain an accurate account of the motions that proceed
throughout the text. Hemingway s third person narrative helps reassure the theme by

The most common way to be physically affected by the abuse is to have a bruise
from being pulled by the arm too hard. Also, an abused partner deals with the abuse
by denying they were abused and cover up for what had happened to them. In the
text Effects of Domestic Violence it says Given the nature of the crime, it is
extremely common to retain bruises on the arms from being gripped, broken bones
or other physical injuries from abusive incidents. People experiencing domestic
violence often cover up their injuries to avoid being questioned by others. Walking

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE MOVIE
Freedom Writers is a poignant film based on the book, The Freedom Writers by
Erin Gruwell and her students from Room 203. I really like how the movie captures
the stories of the people from Room 203. The film also shows the different
perspective of the stories written by the students, it help theviewers undertsnad the
problems that they were facing at the moment. Furthermore, the narration of Eva
Hernandez story in the film gave a powerful impact to me. The role of Erin Gruwell
was given justisce by the acting of Hillary Swank and the role of Eva was by the
acting of April Lee Hernandez. Overall, the film is successful in showing its message
and it left deep impression for me.

Erin Gruwell gave to them. In the film, we are given an insight to the different
perspective of each students. Each of them has a different way of interpreting
which shows the difference of how they use the language and it s a reflection of
the culture which they came from. For example, some use story to tell their
personal experience, some use rap to express what they feel and some uses poem

Minor, seemingly insignificant quality of life crimes, they said, were Tipping Points
for violent crime (292). These real life examples also helped Gladwell advance his
claim that social context can change the behavior of the larger population. Gladwell
uses this example to help support his claim by showing that unlike Bernie Goetz who
was only one man, changing small things in our environmental context can lead to a
large systemic change in society. Gladwell strategically uses the Zimbardo Prison
Experiment, because this shows that with the two previous cases that the possibility
of the subject being a criminal was eliminated. This experiment shows that even
educated Stanford students in a monitored and controlled atmosphere are at the
mercy of the social context around them. In the Zimbardo six days in because of the
effect it was having on the prisoners. I realize now, one prisoner said after the
experiment was over, that no matter how together I thought I was in my head, my
prison behavior was often less under my control than I realized (296). This study
shows that under a controlled atmosphere that educated Stanford students are not
