Essay Against Same Sex Marriage
Writing an essay on a topic that goes against one's personal beliefs or societal norms can be a
challenging task. In the case of an essay against same-sex marriage, it may require a writer to
navigate through sensitive and controversial territory. Expressing opinions that go against the
prevailing tide of acceptance and support for LGBTQ+ rights can be emotionally charged.
To construct a compelling argument against same-sex marriage, one must delve into a variety of
perspectives, historical contexts, and cultural beliefs. The difficulty lies in presenting a coherent
and persuasive case while respecting opposing viewpoints and avoiding the reinforcement of
harmful stereotypes. The writer may encounter internal conflicts, as they are tasked with
articulating opinions that may contradict their own values or contemporary societal norms.
Moreover, this type of essay demands extensive research to provide factual information and
statistical data. While maintaining an unbiased tone, the writer must avoid perpetuating
discrimination or prejudice. Striking a balance between presenting a well-structured argument
and acknowledging the diverse experiences of the LGBTQ+ community is essential but
challenging.
Ultimately, writing an essay against same-sex marriage requires a delicate and thoughtful
approach to ensure the piece is intellectually rigorous while remaining respectful of the
sensitivities surrounding the topic. The writer must be prepared for potential backlash or
criticism and be open to engaging in constructive dialogue.
For those who find this task daunting, it's worth noting that various writing services, like

Almost all stories have plots, and authors employ plots in many different ways. If
you can show the particular way in which an author makes use of plot to further his
or her story, you have said something substantial. We are interested in learning about
the particular way that Hawthorne uses colors and names as character symbols in
Young Goodman Brown, or the specific way that Updike in A P shows the world of
the grocery store society as a way to enable Sammy s character to hopefully mature.
Try to develop your discussion by focusing on a particular strategy the author uses and
what effect that strategy has on the reader. Why did the author choose this particular
strategy over other options that might have presented themselves? Does the strategy
enable the author to do anything? Are there any constraints in using the strategy?

The Problem Of A Relapse
A relapse is probably one of the worst feelings someone could have because of all
the negative emotions that come with it. When someone relapses it is often seen as
a failure to them and an incredible sense of guilt, it s normal to feel guilty that you
weren t able to keep up with your recovery, shame that you ve let others and you
down (Facing Yourself After Relapse
). These negative emotions come up because so
much effort has been made to not make these mistakes, but addictionis not an easy
thing to overcome. The third scene of the video starts with Noodle hiding in the

In the fourth scene of the video the helicopters come back for a second attack,
representing the addicted using right after the initial slip up. What causes this
assault is the mindset of not being able to recover from the first use of the drug.
Instead of treating the first use of the drug as a moment to learn from one s
mistakes and move on with recovery; the error is viewed as the end of recovery
and a complete relapse occurs, For others, that first drink is the start of a major
slide into total relapse (Relapse). The negative emotions get the best of the addict
and they begin to use again in order to cope. The video does a very good job at
representing this visually. Previously stated the first attack seems to come out of
nowhere since it is not known where the helicopters come from. This attack on the
other hand is different; the helicopters are circling the island the entire time after
the first attack. By circling it is evident that this assault is not coming out of
nowhere, but rather from the addict s own mind and emotions. The first use of the
drug can be unpredictable; possibly occurring by attending a party or hanging out
with friends who also use the drug. The second round comes from the recovering
addict to decide to go against his or her treatment and use again causing a full blown
relapse. Once this happens the user goes back to old habits and erases all their
progress
The Life Of Heinrich Himmler Essay
The Life Of Heinrich Himmler
When one thinks of the most evil and powerful person through history, one often
thinks of Adolf Hitler. However, most of the feats accomplished by Hitler would
have been impossible without the help of his lesser known right hand man, Heinrich
Himmler. Deemed the second most powerful man in Germany during World War II
(United States Holocaust Memorial Museum), he helped Hitler carry out his brutal
genocide of the Jewish religion. Heinrich Himmler played an extremely important role
in the Holocaust. On October 7, 1900, Gebhard, a school teacher and principal, and

served for the Eleventh Bavarian Regiment as an officer cadet, although he did not
experience any combat due to the signing of the Versailles Peace Treaty, which

Himmler s hope of becoming a soldier was shattered, so he decided to return to
school. In July of 1919, Himmler graduated from a high school in Landshut,
Germany, and decided to continue his education and attend college. He enrolled at
the Technical University in Munich, Germany as an agriculture major. While taking
classes at Technical University, Himmler joined a German nationalist student

reject many of the beliefs that had been bestowed upon him by his parents and

did not believe or respect any of the beliefs of the Christian doctrine. Influenced by
peer pressure, Himmler began to drift away from his Catholic past, becoming
extremely critical of sermons given by priests that
Comparing Job And J. B. The Book Of Job
In the book of Job, Job walks through life making sure his actions and words are
carefully chosen, and even goes as far as to burn offerings for sins yet committed.
The book of Job, and then later the modern take titled J.B., was a new display from
God, showing that bad things can happen to good people. The book of Jobmade it
clear in the biblethat God was not giving or taking anything because of our own
achievement, but that all things good and bad are from God. Archibald Macleishtries

J.B s comforters add nothing meaningful to the conversation of suffering and why
God has acted in the ways he did, and one might even question the role of the
comforters in J.B except mimicking the book of Job. The book of Job keeps itself
continuous and even though the comforters miss the overall point of the testing,
they still root themselves in the word and use past examples of God and how he
acts to attempt to aid Job during his state of suffering. This distinction between
comforters is critical as one story truly adds meaning to the reader s life and has a

Deforestation In China Essay
Deforestation affects the Wild Birds China, as a developing country, is now
suffering from serious deforestation. While researching, it shows that North China,
is one of the places that have been destroyed a lot in the recent decade. From my
perspective, it is critical to raise the awareness of the general public in China as our
environment is rather more fragile than before. Deforestation in North Chinahas been
a serious threat to native wild birds. China is a country with low forest coverage and
a fragile ecology. The forest coverage rate is far below the global average of which is
31%, the per capita of forest area is only at 1/4 of the world s average, per capita of
forest stock only at 1/7 of the world s average пј€
Forest resources 2016пј‰. Due to
serious deforestation in China, the destruction caused a reduction in biodiversity.
There are approximately 1200 species of birds identified in China, and a large
number of them live in the forest. There are 70% of birds living in the forest all
year round, or in a certain season of the year. Forest destruction that cause by human
activities and influence the lives of wild birds to a great extent. The range of birds
activities dropped sharply than before; frequent human activities led to the imbalance
of the biological clock of birds and increased the nestlings mortality. Similarly, the
indeterminacy of the birds breeding season will cause the reduction of the
reproductive fecundity and affect the
Free Will In Dostoevsky s The Grand Inquisitor
In this paper I will argue that although one may perceive Ivan to be against
organized religion in Dostoevsky s The Grand Inquisitor, he is actually against
humans having free will. Ivan Karamazov advocates for the negative liberty of
freeing humans, however it may be unclear as to what he wants humans to be free
from. It may seem as though Ivan wants humans to be completely free of organized
religionand Yeshua, but he is actually advocating for humans to be free of the free will
given by Yeshua. So in a sense, he is against freedom and prefers organized religion
without the free will aspect. Ivan seems to be against organized religion and God
because he directs all of his anger toward Yeshua. It isn t Yeshua that Ivan is mad at,
he is discontent with the fact that Yeshua allowed humans to have free will. By
giving humans free will, Yeshua ultimately caused destruction to humanity due to
human nature and the lack of morality of humans when they were given the ability to
have free will.
In Dostoevsky s The Grand Inquisitor, organized religion is explored through the lens
of freedom and human nature by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually freedom and liberty hold positive connotations, however in The Grand
Inquisitor, free will is a burden on human beings that has caused destruction to
humanity. ...for nothing has ever been more insufferable for man and human society
than freedom! (Dostoevsky, 252) The reason why free will has been a burden on
humans is because Ivan Karamazov believes that humans need three things to keep
them satisfied: miracle, mystery, and authority. The Grand Inquisitor tells Yeshua that
he had the ability to acquire these three powers but he chose not to, instead desiring
love that people chose to give. But because Yeshua desired followers by choice and
not obedience, humans have been conflicted with making the choice of whether or
not to follow
Child Labour In Colombia Essay
The child labour is a serious widespread social problem for the rural and urban
Colombia. There are many reasons why the children in this country are submitted to
work either by their own or an obligation.
Until some years ago, in the rural zone the families were numerous specially to
ensure a cheaper workforce showing a well known growth of the population in these
zones instead of the urban ones where one didn t see this problem and increasing the
incident of poverty. So, the principal reason of child labour in Colombia is that the
children meet forced to help economically their families according to an investigation
of the Dane.
Accessing to education is a challenge for many Colombian children, especially
indigenous and Afro Colombian because is hindered by internal armed conflict,
impassible routes and long distances between the children s homes and the school in
rural areas.
Domestic work is an issue that Colombia began to address relatively in 2014, in
consultation with the ILO. More work is needed to change the cultural belief that
domestic work doesnВґt constitute child labor, a belief that particularly
disadvantages girls, who are the majority of those who labor in the privacy of the
home where child labor is more difficult to detect. Household chores are classified
among the worst forms of child labor (servitude, domestic work), and accidents in the
home are the fourth most common cause of death and injury in Colombia.
This issue affects in diverse ways around the
Unit 8 D1 Essay
Unit 8 Impact of War, Conflict Terrorism on the UPS
D1 Evaluate the impact of war, conflict and terrorism on one UK Public Service
For this assignment I have decided to specifically look at how the British Army are
affected.
WAR
If there is a war and NATO decides that the UK needs to provide direct military action
then the British Army will have to be prepared.
War affects the army as an organisation because it means they will lose soldiers and
have to retrain new ones. An example of this would be the crash of Nimrod XV230
which killed everyone on board, that highlighted the cost pressure of the war. The
training and recruiting of troops is expensive enough but to constantly sustain the
high amount of soldiers that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could lead to a lack of morale from the service men and women as they are being
asked to do more but for fewer advantages.
Another key issue from personnel at war besides physical injuries would be the
mental damage they suffer. Statistics from the MOD show that between April and
June 2013 there was 1367 new cases of personnel suffering with a mental disorder in
the Armed Forces, putting them at the highest amount of mental disorder sufferers
than any of the other services. That s just within a three month period, and with
Afghanistan tours running every six or ninth months it just seems that number will
rapidly heighten.
Overall it seems the main impact the British Army suffers from when it comes to War
is the financial cut backs. They are expected to do so much and constantly provide
strong soldiers yet they aren t seeing much in return.
CONFLICT
Conflict undercuts or destroys environmental, physical, human and social capital,
destroying all available opportunities for a sustainable development. So saying that
makes it clear that it is going to directly affect the well being of the British Army
because it results in the loss of lives and in some cases human rights.
It is said that the British Army has been involved in some form of conflict for
around 100 years now, so you could almost say it s just part of the job and something
you have to deal with. But similar to war, conflict has its effects, mentally and

services instead of traditional american dating methods?
The concept of dating has dramatically changed and in the 21 century s age of self
expression adults might not want their children to stray from the traditional American
dating standards they grew up in. The concept of dating has changed because instead
of dating the normal way, many Americans turn to online dating to find their partner.

million Americans use online dating services ( Dating/ Relationship Statistics ).
Many americans use online dating services whether it be a dating website or an app.

online dating are desperate although this an 8 percent decrease from 2005 s 29%

Dr.Phil, world renowned medical doctor with a focus in mental health, a catfish is a

online dating due to a lack of trustworthiness when it comes to trusting a person s

Catalina Toma, and Nicole Ellison , professors that study communications at Cornell

Women And The Supreme Court
A few years ago, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, People ask me
sometimes, when when do you think it will it be enough? When will there be
enough women on the court? And my answer is when there are nine. Justice
Ginsburg aims for a future where women can achieve the same monopoly on the
Supreme Court that men held for nearly two hundred years; she is optimistic that
someday, nine women will be able to reach the height of the American judicial
system. The path to an all female Supreme Court is quite an unlikely one, but a
strong and diverse court with women and people of color could be created and
would greatly benefit many marginalized groups in the United States. In this paper, I
will discuss a number of topics regarding woman and the Supreme Court from
historical precedents to objective research to the importance of female judges and
Justices and finally to the possibilities of the future. Each of these steps is vital to
fully understanding how we got to our country s current place in female jurisprudence
and creating future opportunities for women both on the Supreme Court and in all
other levels of the judicial system across the United States. In nearly the first two
hundred years of the United States existence, not a single woman served on the
Supreme Court of the United States. In that time, the court made hundreds if not
thousands of decisions that changed the lives of women around the country, but the
women had no say in how the cases were

Arthur Radebaugh s All-Seeing Eye Police Department
In the 20th century, one particular vision for the future that wowed audiences for
generations was the concept of a state of mass surveillance. This would be a society
in which members of the public could be watched at any given point in time. In
1960, an artist by the name of Arthur Radebaugh drew a comic that was reflective of
this theme. As it is aptly titled, the All Seeing Eye PoliceDepartment depicts police
officers at a futuristic precinct, as they monitor several screens showcasing live
closed circuit television(CCTV) camera footage (Novak). In the comic, the dispatch
police officer appears to be pointing at one of the screens and giving an order perhaps

By comparison, in Radebaugh s comic, the CCTV camera is the only highlighted
piece of technology used for surveillance. With respect to real world alternatives,
the wiretapping of phones was an approved police practice in the U.S. as of 1928
(Harris). With the use of CCTV cameras, the police usually have to wait for a
privately owned business to hand over their surveillance footage after a crime has
been committed. In contrast, with the use of wiretapping, police can adopt a more
proactive approach, as they can listen in on the phone conversations of suspicious
people, and they may be able to catch them before a crime even takes place.
Particularly, wiretapping is prevalent in U.S. narcotics cases. In 2010, a wiretap
was used in order to get a conviction for the Dominguez drug smuggling
organization, as two defendants in the case were recorded as they were clearly
arranging a cocaine deal (McCombs). The prosecutors were able to convict the drug
distributors only because the defendants made their intentions plainly obvious in the
recorded phone call. Meanwhile, Radebaugh s comic forgot to consider that while
CCTV cameras can be extremely useful, when using them it is very difficult to
identify the underlying criminal intent, as only the criminal act itself is on display.

Abigail Adams Analysis
Abigail Adams Being different simply means you have something unique to offer

miraculous Island in an overflow of water, Abigail Adams was very peculiar
compared to other ladies and her time. But no one guessed how her distinct ideas
and thoughts would be the miracle women s rights with waiting for. She was
ahead of her time, even so, she was underestimated just because of her clashing
nature to beliefs in her day. Abigail Adam s various differences in her personality
from other colonial women, affected her rule to play vastly during the
Revolutionary War and her influence ended up changing America s virtue of
equality and brought justice to many females. Abigail Adams acted divergently the
most females and therefore ended up supporting and doing her part to help the
Patriots in the Revolutionary War differently from most women. Abigail never
feigned stupidity to get the attention of any guy instead she depended on her brain,
Abigail was quite unlike the other woman she was direct and unaffected she did
not engage and coy flirtations and was not afraid to show her intelligence,
(Behrman 21 22) Abigail had different priorities in most lady she wanted to act
prudently instead of weak and proper. By being herself instead of covering up her
smarts, which was received as unattractive in women at that time Abigail displayed
courage and even fell in love because of her strong mind. She married a

Police Foils
The police are often characterized as foils when compared to detectives due to their
analytical thinking that requires logical reasonings in order to solve a mystery, and a
lack of creative thinking that detectives use to place themselves in the mind of the
criminal. As well, detectives will often solve a mystery that otherwise
discombobulates the police. In Edgar Allan Poe s The Murders in the Rue Morgue
and The Purloined Letter, It is evident that the inability for the police to solve a case
efficiently through their lack of creative thinking and a scarcity of analytical thinking
highlights Dupin s superiority in solving crimes more effectively than the police. In

It is evident that the Police are inconsistent when they are not detailed in their search

A Comparison Of Two Versions Of The Little Mermaid
In both versions of The Little Mermaid , the role of the mermaid is depicted as a
strong willed character who faces the problems of being a rebellious teenager and
struggles to procure what she desires most in life. In my personal opinion, Disney s
version of The Little Mermaid has a greater plot. Because of its theme good vs evil,
Disney s The Little Mermaidhas an expanded storyline and extra characters, including
Ursula, a villain which Hans Christian Andersen s story lacks.

The sea witch in this story is not particularly evil, seeing as how she has no ulterior

villain, without whom there would be no theme of good vs evil. Ursula is clever
and uses magic to take the Little Mermaid s voice, so that if things go awry she
can take matters into her own hands, which she does. Her ultimate goal is to rule
the ocean and she knows Triton wouldn t hesitate to hand over his power if it

definitely adds a commercial aspect to the movie. Not only is she a villain for
children to root against, but she adds some amusement for adults as well. If we
pay close enough attention, we notice that she adds a little bit of adult humor. Not
only that, but she is a villain in other ways than just what the kids will see. She
tells Ariel boys aren t that impressed with conversation and continues to explain
how they would much rather prefer to look at her pretty face and figure. In other
words, she is encouraging Ariel to use her body to get what she wants, which isn t
exactly advice we want our children following, one day. Nonetheless, good always
triumphs over evil and Eric falls in love with Ariel for who she is and realizes that it
was her all along who saved him and who he wanted to be
Finding Nemo Archetypes
Hero s Journey: Finding Nemo What is the typical idea of a hero? Sure, there may
be Marvel Heroes, but do they fit the archetype of a The Hero s Journey? In the
movie Finding Nemo directed by Andrew Stanton, a small fearful clownfish goes
on a life changing adventure after his son had been taken by a scuba diver. Marlin
s journey has its ups and downs but it fits the pattern of the hero s journey
archetype almost perfectly. Joseph Campbell said, A hero ventures forth from the
world of common day into a religion of supernatural wonder. Fabulous forces are
there encountered and a decisive victory is won, the hero comes back from this
mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow men
(Campbell). Marlin does exactly that. He goes from the ordinary world into the
sacred world in search for his treasure, his son, Nemo. First, Marlin s journey
begins with the call to adventure . The call is when the hero is asked to leave the
ordinary world to reach a specific goal. Our hero s call begins when Nemo s new
friends dare him to go touch the butt. Nemo gets taken by a scuba diver and this
leaves everybody speechless and panicking. This moment is the spark of Marlin s
Journey. After trying to chase the scuba diver, Marlin almost had... Show more

But before there can be a happy ending, the hero must first experience hell. Marlin
experiences his journey to hell, (death and rebirth,) when he is in the dentists office
and thinks Nemo is dead. A man realizing that his son was dead would be hell for
any father. Marlins way out of hell is when Nemo finds him after being flushed and
they are reunited. At this point in the hero s journey, the hero has reached the
atonement with the father. This is when two people reconcile with one another, are
reunited, or learn to look passed differences. In this case, Marlin has reached his
treasure because Nemo and him are finally brought back together as father and
The Role Of Occupational Roles Determine Correct
Behavior...
Attaining Expertise
One of the most beneficial solutions to life problems solving is new experiences
and skills. There are rules that people are expected to follow. Rules are the
conventions of everyday life that make our interactions with other people predictable
and orderly. Some rules matter of the law. Occupational roles determine correct
behavior for a manager and an employee, a professor and student. Attaining expertise
come with experience and training. Change is relatively easy it is an entrenched
habit of thinking or behavior takes considerable time and effort. One has to change
themselves, but also their relationships with others who may be rewarding the or old
ways if they want the problems to be solve. Learning new skills improves one s
working memory, better verbal intelligence and above all increases dialectal skills. In
the end, the more expert you become, the less work the brain has to do. Over time,
acquired skills become automatic, and one does not have to think about what they
are doing. The fact that our behavior is to a large extent predetermined by our
connection with other people should not induce us to lose sight of the most private
and unique facets of our personalities. It is, of course easy for us to slip into the
idea that our meanings are obviously better that those developed by other cultures.
Because they are so thoroughly a part of ourselves, they seem right and proper just as
some of the behavior that seems peculiar,
Muscle Contraction Research Paper
Most accepted model of muscle contraction
The explanation for how muscles contract to produce force
Structures that are involved: Myofibril, Sarcomere, Actin, Myosin, Tropomyosin, and
Troponin
Myofibril: cylindrical organelle running the length of the muscle fiber, containing
Actin and Myosin filaments
Sarcomere: functional unit of the Myofibril, divided to I, A and H bands
Actin: thin contractile protein filament, containing active or binding sites
Myosin: thick contractile protein filament,
Tropomyosin: actin binding protein which regulates muscle contraction
Troponin: complex of three proteins, attached to tropomyosin
Myosin head attaches to Actin Myofilament:
Formation of a new cross bridge leads to the release of Pi
The Myosin head enters it s high energy configuration and binds to the Actin
Myofilament. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before this the ADP and Pi are still bound to the Myosin head
After binding to the Actin Filament the Pi detaches from the Myosin head
Pi release triggers the Power Stroke
Change in Myosin head moves the Actin and Myosin filaments relative to each other
Power Stroke = Working Stroke
The Myosin undergoes another conformational change c
Myosin head pivots and moves the thin filament closer to the M line (center structure
of the H zone) proteins as the thick filament slides past
The Z lines/Z disc ( z like formation) of the sarcomere move closer together, the entire
contractile unit shortens
ATP binds to the Myosin
The cross bridge between the two fibers breaks as the Myosin head dissociates from
the Actin Myofilament
Myosin heads act as a molecular motor, attaches to Actin molecules to create a cross
bridge between the Sarcomere
Then ATP binds to the Myosin head, separating it from the Actin
Thesis Statement On Graphene
When I was child, there was a Television program called, MacGyver was telecast

then I have been always trying to solve things, no matter it is beyond me or not. My

My undergraduate thesis topic was Analysis the transport properties of graphene
using Ensemble Monte Carlo Simulation in which I studied electrical conductivity,
effect of temperature on graphene by varying temperature, effect of electric field on
drift velocity, effect of scattering on mobility, observed its some mechanical
properties like stress enduring capability etc. in a form of carbon nanotube. The most
amazing fact about graphene is it may be a metal or a semiconductor or a semi metal
depending its indexes. Carbon nanotube is actually cylindrical form of graphene
sheet. By using tight binding model(TB), I got electronic band structure of graphene
which was the basis for the Monte Carlo Simulation as it is superior then Boltzmann
transport equation(BTE) for analyzing band structure. I have decent command on
MathLab programming language. I acquired A+ grade in my thesis and not only in
the thesis but also I got good grade in all semiconductor related subjects in my
undergraduate level. Nowadays research programs related to graphene has been a
sign of advancement for any institution whether it is educational or
What Affects How Efficient A Legislature
What affects how efficient a legislature is? The concept of legislative efficiency is
defined as the extent to which legislature exhibits the characteristic of organization
and competency and is measured by comparing the trustworthiness, and political
efficacy of a country. Efficiency is a fundamental element to results in life.
Organizations and processes need to optimize their solutions, in comparison to the
problems they are confronted with, so that they can continue to be competitive, and
trusted in the world we observe. Legislaturesare no exception to that statement,
however, while they strive to be efficient and effective, they must also look out for
the values of their country or communities, and interest of their people. In this paper I
will discuss potential independent variables associated with the efficiency of
legislature, why they could be affecting the efficiency, and examples from news
stories relating to the topic
My dependent variable in this question is the efficiency. I am researching to find an
independent variable that will help me better understand how the efficiency of
politics is affected in legislative systems. The efficiency of legislature may be found
on a different path than that of markets, and companies, but in the end, they all desire
an optimized system for passing legislature that citizens believe in. In most legislature
situations, this means winning a majority vote to push forward solutions or actions to
problems they are facing.

Criminal Identification And The Criminal Justice System
Techniques of criminal identification have varied throughout the criminal justice
system. As time progressed, these techniques evolved accordingly. Due to modern
day technology, and scientific advancements, it has made identifying criminals much
easier. Adding to the effectiveness and accuracy, these techniques also carry much
more weight and play a much more credible role in court. Best of all, it has made it
near impossible for a suspect to get away with a crime especially when not caught in
the act of committing. Although, methods of criminal identification have varied
throughout history, the most common and verifying procedure of pinpointing
criminals still today is through fingerprintanalysis. Because fingerprints are most
commonly left at a crime scene and because they are extremely unique in each of
their individual characteristics, the overall techniques of recovering them at a crime
scene continue to have a compelling impact on determining criminals.
Without any means of personal identification, many individuals throughout history all
over the world took notice of analyzing fingerprints and their unique characteristics.
Dating back centuries, old civilizations would utilize fingerprints by placing them on
clay tablets indicating a business transaction had been made. An anatomy professor
named John Evangelist Purkinje, at the University of Breslau in the year 1823
published a thesis analyzing nine fingerprint patterns, although made no mention or
indication of the
What It Means To Be An American Essay
Throughout the life span of the United States, from its infancy after the Revolution
to the present, people have asked, What is an American? This question goes far
beyond asking who is a citizen or who resides in this land. No, it asks what the
identity of an American is? Through popular, art, film, and literature, the American
image is defined as being based on embracing our individual identities. Movies are
a perfect way to express the image of America. Movies are the mixture of art,
music, and literature, containing words like a book, sounds like music, and images
like art. This trinity of expression helps illustrate the picture of the individual. The
western genre of film is a perfect example of this. The old west was a place that...

A Mexican standoff is a standoff with more than two people. In the end Blondie
kills Eagle Eye and leaves Tuco stranded at the graveyard (Leone). The movie
shows the west as a place where a man is just looking after themselves. Looking
after yourself is embracing your individual identity. Not do they embrace their
individuality through appearance. The characters of this movie are easily
recognizable, for example, the poncho that Blondie wears and stubby cigar he
smokes. The audience who watches this movie also embraces Blondie s character.
His mysterious and rough nature all feed to his individualistic image. Also, the
character is not a hero in the typical sense of the term. He doesn t do any heroic
deeds; he s out to get the gold for himself. The fact that he is not a hero in the
standards of fiction makes him a more human character which stands out from
other westerns. Though another way one can embrace their individual identities is
by expressing themselves onto art. An example is the artist, Georgia O Keefe, who
was an American Modernist. During the early years of the nineteenth century
Freudian ideas caused what could considered a sexually revolution. The ideas of
repression made some women change their thought. In Black Iris III Georgia O
Keefe represents these ideas and at the same time embraces her individual identity
not only as an artist but as a woman. The painting is a close up of a black iris. The
flower itself takes up the entire painting
Similarities Between Doodle And The Scarlet Ibis
Doodle, a young disabled boy, is a burden to his Brother . Brother, is very ashamed
and embarrassed of Doodle. The story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst shows how
Doodle is like the Scarlet Ibis. Doodle and the Scarlet Ibis have many of the same
conflicts and repeating actions in the story. In The Scarlet Ibis, Hurst develops the
symbolism, which is shown through birds, death, and the colorredshows how fragile
Doodle really is during his lifetime. One example of Hurst showing symbolism in the
story is through birds. Doodle and the scarlet ibisare both graceless and very weak.
The scarlet ibis tries to fly, but fails to do so. At that moment the bird began to
flutter, but the wings were uncoordinated, and amid much flapping and a spray of
feathers, it tumbled down, bumping through the limbs of the bleeding tree and
landing at our feet with a thud (Hurst 321). Doodle is comparable to the scarlet
ibis. He is very clumsy, and looked down upon by his family. They believed that he
was not going to live. He is shown through the scarlet ibis because the bird is also
very weak, like Doodle. They both have come over many obstacles to be alive. But
still, you never know if something so little to you, could break something so
fragile like a Scarlet Ibis. In the story after Doodle dies. It talks about how empty
the house was. ...the oriole nest in the elm was untenanted and rocked back and
forth like an empty cradle (Hurst 315). Now that the birds are gone and the tree is
not occupied, it is like the empty cradle in the house now that Doodle is gone. He
is shown through the birds. Doodle is just like the birds leaving their home. And
now that Doodle is gone, it is a very empty sensation lingering in the home he once
lived in. Doodle is symbolically a bird in the story the Scarlet Ibis because he is very
weak and fragile, just like the bird.
Hurst develops the idea of death, and it is symbolic towards Doodle and his family.
The idea of death has come over Doodle s family. Doodle is the smell drifting
across the cotton field into the room. The last graveyard flowers were blooming, and
their smell drifted across the cotton field and through every room of our house,
speaking softly the names of our dead
Ankle Sprains Research Paper
It s challenging to prevent repeat ankle sprains but it is possible. Unfortunately, with
each occurrence it gets more likely it will happen again. The tendency increases
because the passive stability structures, the ligaments, become loose. The key then is
to optimize the other stability structures.
Sprains typically happen in a side to side direction. The first step is to make sure
that you have the best possible motion in the front to back direction. Stretch the
calves and Achilles tendon to make sure you have good dorsiflexion (toes up towards
knees).
Next, work on balance activity to get the muscles around the ankle working as well
as possible. Start with simple single leg balance with the foot in a good position with
eyes open then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To finalize the process, you will need to progress the stabilization exercises to
include the hip muscles and movements which the ankle decelerates movements in
multiple directions. This is where the skilled advice of a corrective exercise
specialist will become necessary.
Once you sprain your ankle you are more likely to do it again. To strengthen your
ankles do range of motion exercises. Try writing the alphabet with your ankle, so
that you are moving the ankle in all directions. You can also get rubber
strengthening bands and perform the same exercises with resistance. Single leg toe
raises, where you go up on your tiptoes while standing on one leg might also help.
You should be able to do this 10 times in a row without any problem. Physical
therapy can also sometimes be helpful if you do not feel you are making progress on
your own.
It is important to improve ankle dorsiflexion after an ankle sprain. Research
indicates a loss of ankle mobility with chronic ankle sufferers primarily in ankle
dorsiflexion which is the motion you need to walk correctly. Reserach also indicates
a change in muscle control patterns not only in the ankle but also up the kinetic
chain, such as a loss of hip

You hear that one of your choices is severely backed up, so you decide to go with

The nature of logic as understood is when you have a situation, belief, custom, etc.
that is examined and reviewed in great detail to discover the reasoning behind certain
deeds. Critical thinking as I understand is when you view a situation in numerous
ways to get a precise answer or best results. The nature of logic relates to critical
thinking by examining the situation and thoughts to get a clearer decision of possible
outcomes, or reasoning.
We make one major judgment when we first encounter a person or situation and then
we carry that impression forward into subsequent interactions, is what we call
perceptual shortcuts. Viewing people as steady or constant is directly related to first
impressions and involves a belief that people will not, or can not, change their
behavior.
There are factors that can affect this process such as; biological, social/cultural and
language factors. Apart from these values, beliefs and attitudes have a sound effect
on a person?s perception.
Since people make judgments based on their perception, a lot of misinterpretation
and conflict is caused. So in order to keep things on the right track, all one has to do
is listen and look well and definitely not jump to conclusions; for this patience is
necessary.
My perceptual blocks developed from the environment I resided in.

Selective guaranteeing of Icelandic deposits but not others was not received well

Rainbow Fish Book Analysis
Text: The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister
Grade level equivalent: Pre K and Kinder
Genre: Picture Book
Synopsis: It is a picture book about a Fish, named Rainbow Fish, who thinks he is
too beautiful to hang out with all the other fish. As a result, Rainbow Fish ends up
lonely. At the end, Rainbow Fishlearns that it is better to have friends than to be
prideful.
Demands of the Text
Genre/organizational demands: Picture books are books that contain many
illustrations, especially for children. The illustrations are as important (or, in some
cases, even more important than) the words in the story. My students will need to
understand that pictures usually add to the text of the story. They will also need to
understand that text represents spoken words. Thus, my students need to be able to
interpret pictures and be able to recognize one to one correspondence between a
written word and a spoken word.
Background knowledge demands: For this book, students must know what fish and
scales are. They will also need to know that fish live under the sea.
High level Thinking about the Text While I am readingthis book aloud, I will ask
critical thinking questions, using the upper and lower end of Bloom s Taxonomy.
Some of the questions that I will ask are the following:
1.Can someone describe Rainbow Fish for me?
2.What is one of the descriptive words that the author uses?
3.Why did the author say this?
4.What is going on in this scene?
5.How do someone s character traits affect how they act or what they say?
6.Can someone give me a summary of this story or tell me what it is about?
Lesson Objectives
Textual objective:
During the text based discussion, the student will discuss what the main character in
the story said, looked like, acted like, and felt like.
Strategy objective:
At the end of this minilesson, the students will be able to identify the 4 different
character traits and give at least 1 example of each with 70 percent accuracy.
PART II: LESSON NARRATIVE

their own as well as the western world. Ifi Amadiume, a Nigerian sociologist with a
London University doctorate, conducted research in her own family area to study

in relation to the male front section of the compound. There was a dual sex
organization principle behind the structure of the economy, which was supported by
various gender ideologies. These principles and ideologies governed the economic
activities of men and women. They also governed access to wealth, wives,
achievement based status and many other things within their community. Material
wealth was converted into prestige and power through title taking, the acquisition of
more wives and more labor power, more material wealth. Wealth for men included

Wealth for women included things like livestock, fowls, dogs , farm and garden

Total Cost Of Ownership Is The Purchase Price Of An Asset
Total Cost of Ownership is the purchase price of an asset along with the costs to
operate it. TCO started to become more known in the eighties when software and
IT expenses started to be involved with maintain an asset. Purchasers and business
owners realized there was a different in purchase price and the real cost of an asset
purchase. When making purchasing decisions it is always best for the decision
maker to look at the TCO and not just the initial cost of an asset. Total cost of
ownership is also taken into consideration when making an investment. Things
outside of the initial purchase or investment that affect the TCO are direct and
indirect expenses. Many factors come into play when documenting indirect
expenses. These expenses can be broken down into different costs that add up to the
total cost of ownership. In the following paragraphs, I am going to cover the
different expenses to take in the consideration when looking at the total cost of
ownership for the life cycle of an asset. Buyers, acquisition managers, and business
owners all need to consider the TCO when making smart purchasing decisions. Total
cost of ownership has helped many businesses make wiser purchasing decisions.
When calculating the total cost of ownership of an asset, the life cycle of the asset

Pant Clothing In The 1970 s
The 1970s was full of movement and change, and the fashion trends of that time
reflected that. The clothes were bold and diverse as people wore clothes they
preferred over what was the social norm of the gender, race, or any other category.
Women started wearing more masculine clothes, men experimented with different
suits and many unisex outfits and new styles emerged and became popular in this
decade. Therefore, due to the attitude of the seventies being about individualism, the
decade was titled as the Me decade. Firstly, as stated previously, women started
wearing more masculine clothes, including pant suits. Pant suits helped women
make a statement to society by being worn by both genders and as a symbol for
feminism, stating females could be just as powerful and professional as... Show more

One included jeans, especially jeans with flared bottom. However, they gradually
shrunk through the decade until the flare disappeared. Denim skirts and vests were
also trendy clothes along with the jeans. Two styles that became popular in the 1970s
were the hippie style and the punk rock style. The hippie style was made popular
due to many famous singers, bands, and other entertainers, such as The Beatles,
wearing hippie styled outfits, matching loose fitting shirts with vivid patterns and
pairing them with clothes from many cultures. Men and women both wore this style
and pushed what was normal for society at the time by having long hair as men and
women wearing a large height variety in hemlines. The second style, the punk rock
style, began in the United Kingdom and spread its influence into the American
culture. It was popular mainly to the youth and purposely defied the social norm and
drew a line between the youth and the older generations. Their style consisted of
leather jackets, ripped clothes, colorful hair, and many other accessories and aspects

Child Welfare And The United States Department Of Justice
According to the United States department of Justice, Over sixty percent of
American children are exposed to a type of violence every year (Finkelhor, D.,
Turner, H., Ormrod, R., Hamby, S., and Kracke, K. 2009). These forms of violence
can be perpetrated by a victims home, community or school, with majority of children
knowing the perpetrator(s). These experiences with violencewhether primary or
secondary, can cause serious psychological trauma to a child and in worst case
scenarios death. The 2009 survey by the Department of Justice also found that
children exposed to any form of violence were more likely to engage in violence in
the future and almost forty percent of these children were exposed to multiple acts of
violence ( pg.2). The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The minimalist position ideology is that this problem is overlooked, and they are
very skeptical of these claims. Both of these ideologies are consisted extremist
theories and are frowned upon in the criminal justice system. Karmen explained
how Kidnapping was not apart of the UCR and data was so rare that National
Incidence Study of Missing, Abducted, Runaway and Throwaway (NISMART) was
created in 1984. This system found that roughly 40% of these cases were actual
missing children incidences (p. 186), but 40% as well were misunderstanding
between the child and parent, 10% being due to injury/illness. This chapter also gave
excellent information on children in the Justice system, as witnesses, and the laws
before 1990. I believe this chapter went into excellent detail on children as victims,
and as the volumes continue I m sure will only become more extensive.

The United States government is trying to educate America about childhood and
violence. Attorney General Holder started this initiative in 2010 to combat this issue
because the children of today are the adults of tomorrow. Psychogically, physically
and mentally violence causes long term effects on the human and with children being
literally mentally undeveloped it causes detrimental effects. The Department of
Justice goal is to prevent child abuse, and to help
Impetigo Research Paper
Impetigo is a common contagious bacterial infection that was first described by
English dermatologist William Tilbury Fox. It affects the most outer layer of skin,
the epidermis. The word impetigo is the Latin word for skin eruption. This can be
caused by Staphylococcus aureus (golden staph) or Streptococcus pyogenes. These
can be transmitted through direct skinto skin contact with lesions or indirectly by
touching items such as sheets, toys, and/or clothing used by someone with the
infection.
This dermal infection can occur at any age but particularly affects young children
from the ages two to five years old. Globally, it affects more than 162 million
children, predominantly those that attend school or daycares are more likely to

Last is Ecthyma, characterized by vesicle or pustule like sores that become ulcers
that penetrate deeper into the skin. After these break they form hard, thick gray
yellow scabs that leave scars.
Diagnosis can be made by observation based on the appearance of honey colored
scabs found in the usual areas of the arms, legs and face. If visual diagnosis cannot
be made a culture test for resistant bacteria can be done.
Impetigo, depending on severity, can be treated for by using a prescribed topical or
oral antibiotics. In 95% of cases, a single antibiotic course results in resolution in
children. If the Streptococci bacteria itself is the cause, penicillin is used. If ulcers
appear during Ecthyma, valacyclovir, an antiviral is given in case a viral infection is
causing the ulcer.
Impetigo is a contagious nonlife threatening disease, it is common and while
unpleasant is also not life altering, most cases clear up without medication or even
the need to see a provider. Over the counter medicine is easily obtained for normal
outbreaks, with the combination of that and time the individual infected will be just
Racism In A Lesson Before Dying
Racism: A Detriment to Society
Based in the late 1940s in Louisiana, Ernest Gaines A Lesson Before Dying is an
intriguingly complex novel that explores numerous themes of immense historical
value. However, it is undeniable that the novel s back bone is structured by one, all
pervasive theme: racism is a detriment to society. It is also successful at conveying
that in an ignorant society where racism thrives, the demoralization against coloured
people runs rampant. Gaines effective use of setting highly develops the theme for
the reader and ultimately makes this novel an extremely powerful thought provoking
piece of social justice literature. Gaines uses the immediate surroundings of his
characters and links that with discrimination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He uses Grant, a teacher at a coloured school in an extremely segregated society in
Louisiana, to do this. Grant questions his role in society and contemplates whether
he should act like the teacher that [he] was, or like the nigger [he] was supposed to
be (47). It is important to note that the school he taught at was deprived of the
necessary resources to run a class chalk, textbooks, and wood were all too
expensive. In an attempt to take action, Grant tells Dr. Joseph, the school s
superintendent, that he does not have all the books, paper, chalk, and pencils he
needs. In an attempt to dodge the issue at hand, Joseph blatantly lies and says that
the white schools [have] just as much as the coloured schools (57). He then
shamelessly goes on to insult Grant s student s abilities by saying that that picking
cotton, gathering potatoes, pulling onions, and working in the garden was good
work for the young body what kind of a deviant would have the nerve to speak so
recklessly? School is for empowering students to make a difference in the world, not
to provide a path to servicing their Caucasian oppressors. Undoubtedly, the setting of
Grant s classroom as well as Joseph s attitude toward the situation are direct
reflections of the consideration and care for coloured students. These individuals full
of so much potential were being immorally ignored absolutely treated like animals
and given substantially insufficient supplies to work with, ultimately lowering their
standard of education . Upon this, these students were forced to work on plantations
to feed their families, and in turn limiting their potential in their professional lives.
How can a society that is so separating, demoralizing, and subjecting, progress
forward? For these reasons, Grant s classroom setting demonstrates that racism is
undoubtedly a detriment to a
Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Essay
In the novel, Boy In the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne the author discusses detail
and relevant text about characters feelings, expressions, and thoughts towards certain
situations. He tends the readers to understand what the characters face throughout the
novel by expressing their emotions and actions. There are many events when John
Boynehas shown this type of purpose, in his novel. For instance, he mentioned
several times at the start of the book how much hatred did Bruno have for Out With.
How Bruno was confused with what was happening in the concentration camp and
why were they all there. As well as the mother has no affection with Out With and
stands up to it many times for her family s betterment. Last but not the least how
Adolf Hitlerwas hated by Bruno because of his physical appearance and his cold
personality.

The first one is that why do the people have the same physical appearance in the
camp and why were they being treated with humiliation by the soldiers. Bruno
could not understand why were the people in the camp all so identical and had
shaved heads as well as the same striped clothes. How extraordinary, pg 158. this
was spoken by Bruno after he noticed the people in the concentration camp, all
having the same noticeable appearance. During Bruno s cooperation towards
finding Shmuel s dad, he saw soldiers snubbing or treating the Jews with
humiliation. This incident had caused Bruno to get confused because what he had
expected in his imagination wasn t there at all. I don t like it here, pg 150. This was
complemented by Bruno after he analyzed the soldiers laughing and being happy
while they were shouting at the Jews and persecuting them. Many queries of Bruno
which had unexpected and abrupt answers, no wonder caused him to be felt betrayed
and made he readers feel sympathetic towards

Muscular Hypertension
Opening: Ocular Hypertension is a term consults cases in which the pressure inside
one s eyes increases to a higher level than normal. This pressure is named after
intraocular pressure . There is one way to measure eye pressure by using millimeters
of mercury (mm Hg). The normal range of eye pressure is from 10 21 mm Hg.
Ocular hypertensionhappens when the pressure is higher than 21 mm Hg. To broaden
more knowledge about this condition, please follow the information below.
Body:
What cause of ocular hypertension?
High eye pressure is resulted from the state that the production and drainage of fluid
in the eye aren t treated the same. The drainage system that normally drains the fluid
from inside the eye works improperly. More fluid repeatedly growing but can t be
drained due to the incorrectly functioning drainage system. As a result, this leads to
an increased quantity of fluid inside the person s eye. Therefore, the pressure is raised.

It d better we try to think about a closed, sustainable water tank. The more level of
water is poured into the tank, the greater the pressure inside it is. Similarly, high
pressure inside the eye occurs the more fluid, the greater the pressure. Moreover, the
optic nerve in the eye can be destroyed by overload of the pressure.
Which symptoms of ocular hypertension?
Most people with ocular hypertension do not go through any symptoms. That s the
reason why regular eye tests should be performed with an ophthalmologist. It is the
key to avoid any risk to the optic nerve from the high pressure.
Above all, regular eye examinations are urgently important for those who are at high
danger, such as blacks and elderly
Patricia Mccarthy
Chris Banks is a contemporary poet who wrote the poem The Gift about coming
home from the hospital after an accident, and receiving affection from her son.
Patricia McCarthy is also a contemporary poet, who wrote the poem Football After
School about watching her son mature, and her fears about his future in the rough
adult world. Banks uses many different images to convey her feelings. Her
description of her injury, saying that her mouth was pumped up like a tyre, and
calling it the broken place. Her colour scheme when talking about herself is full of
red and black, colours of death and anger, but this changes when her son enters the
scene, as she refers to him as my tall, cool son of sixteen. This shift in colour palette
signifies the soothing effect her son has, and shows us the contrast... Show more

Banks s diction helps to enforce the imagery I discussed in the previous paragraph.
When describing herself, Banks s words are short and clipped, representing her
pain, but her son s description is filled with longer words, showing how much
calmer her son is. The enjambement in the last stanza shows how her son feels
unsure about how to act, as we often do when we see a loved one hurt. McCarthy
uses diction heavily when describing the tentative maturing of her relationship
between her and her son. The enjambement when describing her kisses in stanza two
shows how she feels that their relationship is maturing too quickly, and she worries it
will rush, and she will have missed important moments. Her word choices are also
shorter when talking about the other boys, and longer when talking about her son,
showing how she considers her son to be more complicated than the other
The Importance Of Nature In The Natural World
The growing disconnect between modern civilization and nature has reshaped our
roles and responsibilities to the natural world. Our relationship with our planet
continues to transform. In order to preserve the natural world we must recognize
what role it plays in our existence and re evaluate our ethics towards our ecosystems.
Like all living things, we are engineered to survive, and if our environment is slowly
becoming inhospitable, then our efforts to reverse our negative impact should be
second nature. However, an extreme disconnect between humans and the natural
world has resulted in widespread dissociation with factors such as global warming,
diminishing resources, and pollution. This dissociation with the state of our planet, in
part, has to do with the fact that these issues do not feel immediately threatening to a
large percentage of the population. Recent efforts, however; have begun a movement
to reverse our negative impact and promote a more environmentally sustainable way
of life. Now, more than ever, we must realize how are specieshas negatively impacted
the natural world and begin to modify our way of life to preserve the environment,
the life it supports, and its breadth of virtues.
The most common argument to why we must care for the natural world is centered
around the idea that our species cannot exist without it. This is referred to as
anthropocentrism . The nature of this anthropocentric view point leaves out what
responsibilities we have to

If you can show the particular way in which an author makes use of plot to further his or her story, you have said something substantial. We are interested in learning about the particular way that Hawthorne uses colors and names as character symbols in Young Goodman Brown, or the specific way that Updike in A P shows the world of the grocery store society as a way to enable Sammy s character to hopefully mature. Try to develop your discussion by focusing on a particular strategy the author uses and what effect that strategy has on the reader. Why did the author choose this particular strategy over other options that might have presented themselves? Does the strategy enable the author to do anything? Are there any constraints in using the strategy? 5 summary is a brief retelling of the events of the story in your own wordsexegesis is an explanation of the way the story works or what it means t just summarize a story. • 4. The Problem Of A Relapse A relapse is probably one of the worst feelings someone could have because of all the negative emotions that come with it. When someone relapses it is often seen as a failure to them and an incredible sense of guilt, it s normal to feel guilty that you weren t able to keep up with your recovery, shame that you ve let others and you down (Facing Yourself After Relapse ). These negative emotions come up because so much effort has been made to not make these mistakes, but addictionis not an easy thing to overcome. In the fourth scene of the video the helicopters come back for a second attack, representing the addicted using right after the initial slip up. What causes this assault is the mindset of not being able to recover from the first use of the drug. Instead of treating the first use of the drug as a moment to learn from one s mistakes and move on with recovery; the error is viewed as the end of recovery and a complete relapse occurs, For others, that first drink is the start of a major slide into total relapse (Relapse). The negative emotions get the best of the addict and they begin to use again in order to cope. The video does a very good job at representing this visually. Previously stated the first attack seems to come out of nowhere since it is not known where the helicopters come from. This attack on the other hand is different; the helicopters are circling the island the entire time after the first attack. By circling it is evident that this assault is not coming out of nowhere, but rather from the addict s own mind and emotions. The first use of the drug can be unpredictable; possibly occurring by attending a party or hanging out with friends who also use the drug. The second round comes from the recovering addict to decide to go against his or her treatment and use again causing a full blown relapse. Once this happens the user goes back to old habits and erases all their progress
  • 5. The Life Of Heinrich Himmler Essay The Life Of Heinrich Himmler When one thinks of the most evil and powerful person through history, one often thinks of Adolf Hitler. However, most of the feats accomplished by Hitler would have been impossible without the help of his lesser known right hand man, Heinrich Himmler. Deemed the second most powerful man in Germany during World War II (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum), he helped Hitler carry out his brutal genocide of the Jewish religion. Heinrich Himmler played an extremely important role in the Holocaust. In July of 1919, Himmler graduated from a high school in Landshut, Germany, and decided to continue his education and attend college. He enrolled at the Technical University in Munich, Germany as an agriculture major. While taking classes at Technical University, Himmler joined a German nationalist student fraternity. (New World Encyclopedia) The new fraternity he had joined however, did not believe or respect any of the beliefs of the Christian doctrine. Influenced by peer pressure, Himmler began to drift away from his Catholic past, becoming extremely critical of sermons given by priests that
  • 6. Comparing Job And J. B. The Book Of Job In the book of Job, Job walks through life making sure his actions and words are carefully chosen, and even goes as far as to burn offerings for sins yet committed. The book of Job, and then later the modern take titled J.B., was a new display from God, showing that bad things can happen to good people. The book of Jobmade it clear in the biblethat God was not giving or taking anything because of our own achievement, but that all things good and bad are from God. J.B s comforters add nothing meaningful to the conversation of suffering and why God has acted in the ways he did, and one might even question the role of the comforters in J.B except mimicking the book of Job. This distinction between comforters is critical as one story truly adds meaning to the reader s life and has a discernable

  • 8. Deforestation In China Essay Deforestation affects the Wild Birds China, as a developing country, is now suffering from serious deforestation. While researching, it shows that North China, is one of the places that have been destroyed a lot in the recent decade. From my perspective, it is critical to raise the awareness of the general public in China as our environment is rather more fragile than before. Deforestation in North Chinahas been a serious threat to native wild birds. China is a country with low forest coverage and a fragile ecology. The forest coverage rate is far below the global average of which is 31%, the per capita of forest area is only at 1/4 of the world s average, per capita of forest stock only at 1/7 of the world s average пј€ Forest resources 2016пј‰. Due to serious deforestation in China, the destruction caused a reduction in biodiversity. There are approximately 1200 species of birds identified in China, and a large number of them live in the forest. There are 70% of birds living in the forest all year round, or in a certain season of the year. Forest destruction that cause by human activities and influence the lives of wild birds to a great extent. The range of birds activities dropped sharply than before; frequent human activities led to the imbalance of the biological clock of birds and increased the nestlings mortality. Similarly, the indeterminacy of the birds breeding season will cause the reduction of the reproductive fecundity and affect the
  • 9. Free Will In Dostoevsky s The Grand Inquisitor In this paper I will argue that although one may perceive Ivan to be against organized religion in Dostoevsky s The Grand Inquisitor, he is actually against humans having free will. Ivan Karamazov advocates for the negative liberty of freeing humans, however it may be unclear as to what he wants humans to be free from. It may seem as though Ivan wants humans to be completely free of organized religionand Yeshua, but he is actually advocating for humans to be free of the free will given by Yeshua. So in a sense, he is against freedom and prefers organized religion without the free will aspect. Ivan seems to be against organized religion and God because he directs all of his anger toward Yeshua. It isn t Yeshua that Ivan is mad at, he is discontent with the fact that Yeshua allowed humans to have free will. By giving humans free will, Yeshua ultimately caused destruction to humanity due to human nature and the lack of morality of humans when they were given the ability to have free will. The Grand Inquisitor tells Yeshua that he had the ability to acquire these three powers but he chose not to, instead desiring love that people chose to give. But because Yeshua desired followers by choice and not obedience, humans have been conflicted with making the choice of whether or not to follow
  • 10. Child Labour In Colombia Essay The child labour is a serious widespread social problem for the rural and urban Colombia. There are many reasons why the children in this country are submitted to work either by their own or an obligation. Until some years ago, in the rural zone the families were numerous specially to ensure a cheaper workforce showing a well known growth of the population in these zones instead of the urban ones where one didn t see this problem and increasing the incident of poverty. So, the principal reason of child labour in Colombia is that the children meet forced to help economically their families according to an investigation of the Dane. Accessing to education is a challenge for many Colombian children, especially indigenous and Afro Colombian because is hindered by internal armed conflict, impassible routes and long distances between the children s homes and the school in rural areas. Domestic work is an issue that Colombia began to address relatively in 2014, in consultation with the ILO. More work is needed to change the cultural belief that domestic work doesnВґt constitute child labor, a belief that particularly disadvantages girls, who are the majority of those who labor in the privacy of the home where child labor is more difficult to detect. Household chores are classified among the worst forms of child labor (servitude, domestic work), and accidents in the home are the fourth most common cause of death and injury in Colombia. This issue affects in diverse ways around the

Unit 8 D1 Essay Unit 8 Impact of War, Conflict Terrorism on the UPS D1 Evaluate the impact of war, conflict and terrorism on one UK Public Service For this assignment I have decided to specifically look at how the British Army are affected. WAR If there is a war and NATO decides that the UK needs to provide direct military action then the British Army will have to be prepared. War affects the army as an organisation because it means they will lose soldiers and have to retrain new ones. This could lead to a lack of morale from the service men and women as they are being asked to do more but for fewer advantages. Another key issue from personnel at war besides physical injuries would be the mental damage they suffer. Statistics from the MOD show that between April and June 2013 there was 1367 new cases of personnel suffering with a mental disorder in the Armed Forces, putting them at the highest amount of mental disorder sufferers than any of the other services. That s just within a three month period, and with Afghanistan tours running every six or ninth months it just seems that number will rapidly heighten. Overall it seems the main impact the British Army suffers from when it comes to War is the financial cut backs. They are expected to do so much and constantly provide strong soldiers yet they aren t seeing much in return. CONFLICT Conflict undercuts or destroys environmental, physical, human and social capital, destroying all available opportunities for a sustainable development. So saying that makes it clear that it is going to directly affect the well being of the British Army because it results in the loss of lives and in some cases human rights. It is said that the British Army has been involved in some form of conflict for around 100 years now, so you could almost say it s just part of the job and something you have to deal with. But similar to war, conflict has its effects, mentally and

The concept of dating has dramatically changed and in the 21 century s age of self expression adults might not want their children to stray from the traditional American dating standards they grew up in. The concept of dating has changed because instead of dating the normal way, many Americans turn to online dating to find their partner. • 13. Women And The Supreme Court A few years ago, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said, People ask me sometimes, when when do you think it will it be enough? When will there be enough women on the court? And my answer is when there are nine. Justice Ginsburg aims for a future where women can achieve the same monopoly on the Supreme Court that men held for nearly two hundred years; she is optimistic that someday, nine women will be able to reach the height of the American judicial system. The path to an all female Supreme Court is quite an unlikely one, but a strong and diverse court with women and people of color could be created and would greatly benefit many marginalized groups in the United States. In this paper, I will discuss a number of topics regarding woman and the Supreme Court from historical precedents to objective research to the importance of female judges and Justices and finally to the possibilities of the future. Each of these steps is vital to fully understanding how we got to our country s current place in female jurisprudence and creating future opportunities for women both on the Supreme Court and in all other levels of the judicial system across the United States. In nearly the first two hundred years of the United States existence, not a single woman served on the Supreme Court of the United States. In that time, the court made hundreds if not thousands of decisions that changed the lives of women around the country, but the women had no say in how the cases were

With respect to real world alternatives, the wiretapping of phones was an approved police practice in the U.S. as of 1928 (Harris). With the use of CCTV cameras, the police usually have to wait for a privately owned business to hand over their surveillance footage after a crime has been committed. In contrast, with the use of wiretapping, police can adopt a more proactive approach, as they can listen in on the phone conversations of suspicious people, and they may be able to catch them before a crime even takes place. Particularly, wiretapping is prevalent in U.S. narcotics cases. In 2010, a wiretap was used in order to get a conviction for the Dominguez drug smuggling organization, as two defendants in the case were recorded as they were clearly arranging a cocaine deal (McCombs). The prosecutors were able to convict the drug distributors only because the defendants made their intentions plainly obvious in the recorded phone call. Meanwhile, Radebaugh s comic forgot to consider that while CCTV cameras can be extremely useful, when using them it is very difficult to identify the underlying criminal intent, as only the criminal act itself is on display. Standing out in the sea of ordinary people like a miraculous Island in an overflow of water, Abigail Adams was very peculiar compared to other ladies and her time. She was ahead of her time, even so, she was underestimated just because of her clashing nature to beliefs in her day. Abigail Adam s various differences in her personality from other colonial women, affected her rule to play vastly during the Revolutionary War and her influence ended up changing America s virtue of equality and brought justice to many females. Abigail never feigned stupidity to get the attention of any guy instead she depended on her brain, Abigail was quite unlike the other woman she was direct and unaffected she did not engage and coy flirtations and was not afraid to show her intelligence, (Behrman 21 22) Abigail had different priorities in most lady she wanted to act prudently instead of weak and proper. On the other hand, in Disney s The Little Mermaid, there is clearly a villain, without whom there would be no theme of good vs evil. Ursula is clever and uses magic to take the Little Mermaid s voice, so that if things go awry she can take matters into her own hands, which she does. Without Ursula, the movie lacks the climax that it needs. She definitely adds a commercial aspect to the movie. Not only is she a villain for children to root against, but she adds some amusement for adults as well. If we pay close enough attention, we notice that she adds a little bit of adult humor. Not only that, but she is a villain in other ways than just what the kids will see. She tells Ariel boys aren t that impressed with conversation and continues to explain how they would much rather prefer to look at her pretty face and figure. In other words, she is encouraging Ariel to use her body to get what she wants, which isn t exactly advice we want our children following, one day. There are rules that people are expected to follow. Rules are the conventions of everyday life that make our interactions with other people predictable and orderly. Some rules matter of the law. Occupational roles determine correct behavior for a manager and an employee, a professor and student. Attaining expertise come with experience and training. Change is relatively easy it is an entrenched habit of thinking or behavior takes considerable time and effort. One has to change themselves, but also their relationships with others who may be rewarding the or old ways if they want the problems to be solve. Learning new skills improves one s working memory, better verbal intelligence and above all increases dialectal skills. In the end, the more expert you become, the less work the brain has to do. Over time, acquired skills become automatic, and one does not have to think about what they are doing. The fact that our behavior is to a large extent predetermined by our connection with other people should not induce us to lose sight of the most private and unique facets of our personalities. It is, of course easy for us to slip into the idea that our meanings are obviously better that those developed by other cultures. • 26. What Affects How Efficient A Legislature What affects how efficient a legislature is? The concept of legislative efficiency is defined as the extent to which legislature exhibits the characteristic of organization and competency and is measured by comparing the trustworthiness, and political efficacy of a country. Efficiency is a fundamental element to results in life. Organizations and processes need to optimize their solutions, in comparison to the problems they are confronted with, so that they can continue to be competitive, and trusted in the world we observe. Legislaturesare no exception to that statement, however, while they strive to be efficient and effective, they must also look out for the values of their country or communities, and interest of their people. In this paper I will discuss potential independent variables associated with the efficiency of legislature, why they could be affecting the efficiency, and examples from news stories relating to the topic My dependent variable in this question is the efficiency. I am researching to find an independent variable that will help me better understand how the efficiency of politics is affected in legislative systems. The efficiency of legislature may be found on a different path than that of markets, and companies, but in the end, they all desire an optimized system for passing legislature that citizens believe in. In most legislature situations, this means winning a majority vote to push forward solutions or actions to problems they are facing.

The story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst shows how Doodle is like the Scarlet Ibis. Doodle and the Scarlet Ibis have many of the same conflicts and repeating actions in the story. In The Scarlet Ibis, Hurst develops the symbolism, which is shown through birds, death, and the colorredshows how fragile Doodle really is during his lifetime. One example of Hurst showing symbolism in the story is through birds. Doodle and the scarlet ibisare both graceless and very weak. The scarlet ibis tries to fly, but fails to do so. At that moment the bird began to flutter, but the wings were uncoordinated, and amid much flapping and a spray of feathers, it tumbled down, bumping through the limbs of the bleeding tree and landing at our feet with a thud (Hurst 321). Doodle is comparable to the scarlet ibis. He is very clumsy, and looked down upon by his family. They believed that he was not going to live. He is shown through the scarlet ibis because the bird is also very weak, like Doodle. They both have come over many obstacles to be alive. But still, you never know if something so little to you, could break something so fragile like a Scarlet Ibis. In the story after Doodle dies. It talks about how empty the house was. ...the oriole nest in the elm was untenanted and rocked back and forth like an empty cradle (Hurst 315). Now that the birds are gone and the tree is not occupied, it is like the empty cradle in the house now that Doodle is gone. He is shown through the birds. Doodle is just like the birds leaving their home. And now that Doodle is gone, it is a very empty sensation lingering in the home he once lived in. Doodle is symbolically a bird in the story the Scarlet Ibis because he is very weak and fragile, just like the bird. Hurst develops the idea of death, and it is symbolic towards Doodle and his family. The idea of death has come over Doodle s family. Doodle is the smell drifting across the cotton field into the room. The last graveyard flowers were blooming, and their smell drifted across the cotton field and through every room of our house, speaking softly the names of our dead

Material wealth was converted into prestige and power through title taking, the acquisition of more wives and more labor power, more material wealth. Wealth for men included possession of things like houses, many wives and daughters, livestock, and land. Wealth for women included things like livestock, fowls, dogs , farm and garden crops, daughters and many wealthy and influential sons. • 50. The Importance Of Nature In The Natural World The growing disconnect between modern civilization and nature has reshaped our roles and responsibilities to the natural world. Our relationship with our planet continues to transform. In order to preserve the natural world we must recognize what role it plays in our existence and re evaluate our ethics towards our ecosystems. Like all living things, we are engineered to survive, and if our environment is slowly becoming inhospitable, then our efforts to reverse our negative impact should be second nature. However, an extreme disconnect between humans and the natural world has resulted in widespread dissociation with factors such as global warming, diminishing resources, and pollution. This dissociation with the state of our planet, in part, has to do with the fact that these issues do not feel immediately threatening to a large percentage of the population. Recent efforts, however; have begun a movement to reverse our negative impact and promote a more environmentally sustainable way of life. Now, more than ever, we must realize how are specieshas negatively impacted the natural world and begin to modify our way of life to preserve the environment, the life it supports, and its breadth of virtues. The most common argument to why we must care for the natural world is centered around the idea that our species cannot exist without it. This is referred to as anthropocentrism . The nature of this anthropocentric view point leaves out what responsibilities we have to
