A presentation over the characteristics and opportunities accruing from the platform thinking.
Open Innovation is a chatchy word that rised a lot of interest as well as critiques (especially in Europe). The innovation porcess has allways been open and the sociotechnical progesses observed over the last century just show that. On the other hand, my inpression is that under this term there is a lot going on. Platform thinking is one of these phenomena.
Consider first that platforms are becoming a dominant form of business organization. Then consider how you transition an existing product to a platform. This talk illustrates steps to make the transition. It then describes what an open business model looks like and compares differences in openness of Apple, Google, Microsoft and others.

Margo KONIUSZEWSKI’s motto in tackling cyber challenges is « Cybersecurity education is like a marathon, not a sprint. It calls for a sustained effort, crosscutting approach and questions that lead to novel thinking and action! »
She champions digital literacy, cybersecurity and lifelong learning as the new imperatives of Economy 4.0, from junior to senior.
Her Cybersecurity Challenge, that took place despite the COVID crisis, was the world’s first competition to bring together multi-disciplinary “tiger groups” - student teams from IT/engineering, business, law, medicine and military academies in tackling a massive and far-reaching cyber-crisis.
Building on this success she launched a Regional Cyber Labs network run by students for students and the wider community as centers of cyber competence to raise awareness and educate.
The project went worldwide with the Global Cyber Lab to promote cross-sectoral action between the private/public sectors, academia, and diplomats. Her « New Roadmap for Cybersecurity Education » report was adopted and commended by the United Nations Open Ended Working Group on Cybersecurity as a benchmark in cyber capacity-building for all 193 Member States to take-up to boost their cybersecurity landscape.
She then organized the first Global Cybersecurity Roadshow 2021-22 event as part of a year-long program of exchanges between university students from all continents and world class cybersecurity champions. She is now touring Poland with events and conferences around her new audiobook: “Striptease in the age of apps and algos” on technology and how the digital transformation is impacting every aspect of our lives.
For Margo, cybersecurity is too important to leave in the hands of bureaucrats or technicians. We must get everyone on board!

STOCKHOLM FINTECH REPORT - SSE / Stockholm Business RegionMichalGromek
Stockholm is thus now one of the EU’s biggest hubs for Fintech investments, and it is the city in Europe that has attracted the second most investments over the last five years, according to the research report “Stockholm FinTech – An overview of the FinTech sector in the greater Stockholm Region” - conducted together between SSE and Stockholm Business Region (please visit - http://www.investstockholm.com/news/fintech/ for more information)
How might generative artificial intelligence (AI) and automation be undertaken to produce social good? In an increasingly automated digital media world, user agency is challenged through the loss of interaction functionality on the platforms, technologies and interfaces of everyday digital media use. Instead, algorithmically designed decision making processes function for users to assist them in making sense of these environments as a means of assisting them to seek out content that is relevant, of interest and entertaining. However, if the last five years are anything to go by, these sorts of recommendations, particularly across social media, have caused anything but social cohesion and unity amongst users, and have instead spread misinformation, vitriol and hurtful media. Would our society be different had we designed systems that focused on, while still entertaining, content that places the wellbeing of humans at the forefront over content that is, for the most part, popular?
This presentation uses the lens of digital intermediation to explore how civic algorithms might be designed and implemented in digital spaces to improve social cohesion. By unpacking the technologies, institutions and automation surrounding the cultural production practices of digital intermediation, it becomes clearer how these leavers can be adjusted to nudge and encourage platforms, users and content creators to engage in improved civic processes. As a digital intermediation challenge, creating and working with civic algorithms presents as a potentially useful approach towards improving the cornerstone of our democracies by ensuring citizens have access to accurate information, are engaging in the discussions that are important and relevant to them, and are operating within digital environments that value social good alongside commercial gains.

Top 10 startup success stories from Stockholm's tech scene 2014Tommy Sollen
2014 marked a remarkable year for Stockholm’s technology scene, with a number of start-ups receiving high profile investments and several reports highlighting the region’s competitive edge. During 2014, Stockholm was ranked as the world’s second fastest growing market for venture capital investments in technology. The Swedish capital was also ranked as the world's most ICT-mature city.
Tech firms like Klarna, King, Mojang and Truecaller gained massive international attention after landing investments from private fundraising, IPOs and takeovers.
“In the last few years, Stockholm has become one of the most talked-about places in the world thanks to its apps, games and digital services," British newspaper the Independent wrote in an article about the Swedish tech scene.
Stockholm's success also didn't go unnoticed on the sub-continent, with Indian newspaper the Economic Times gushing about how the city's "entrepreneurial climate has proved beneficial to technology companies from Ericsson and Skype to Spotify and King”.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).
