Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History Essay
Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History
Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History text are complementary because it talks about the
relationship of the people of Israel and God, Kingship and religion and the warn them about the
punishment that accompanies. Though the message is the same the mode each took to deliver a God
message is different.
The primary goal of the Deuteronomistic History is the perception of Kingship and religion, the word
Deuteronomistic History was first formulated by Martin Noth in 1943. It refers to those historical
writings (also known as former prophets), the books consist of Joshua, the judges, Samuel, and kings
(Collins 2004:183). The book of king relates the history of Hebrew united and ... Show more content

I Kings 11: 9 11 the lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the Lord,
the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, and had commanded him concerning this matter,
that he should not follow other gods, but he did not observe what the Lord commanded. Therefore the
lord said to Solomon, since this has been your mind and you have not kept my covenant and my
statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and give it to your
servant. The Deuteronomistic History talks about the kingship of David, Saul and Solomon but
portrays the monarchy as corrupt, improper and always bringing calamity to the people. Hosea uses
his marriage to a prostitute as a means of preaching to the people of Northern Israel. God commanded
Hosea to marry a prostitute named Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, his Israel past figured
prominently in Hosea s prophecies to Israel. Mercy and judgment are also important themes in Hosea
s message. He was a prophet of eventual hope and immediate doom, given the understanding the
covenant of blessing and curses as outline in the Tora. His message stems from the covenant violation
motif as reflected in the lawsuit YHWH has brought against Israel (Hill and Walton 2009:582 587).
God controversy with Israel was rooted in conflicting religious ideologies of Canaanite Baalism and
Hebrew Yahwism (Hos. 4:4) (Hill and Walton 2009:589). For

The Film Fiddler On The Roof
Fiddler on the Roof is a 3 hour musical film based on Sholom Aleichem s stories. In the opening
scene, Tevye discusses the traditions of his community. He says, Tradition. Without our tradition, our
lives would be as shaky as . . . as a fiddler on the roof. Explain what Tevye means by this statement.
Tevye states without tradition people have not balance in life. The prayer shawl that the men wear is a
reminder of their constant devotion to God. Tevye sings about keeping their routes in life for several
years and every aspect of life tells something about who they are. What is the role of Yente in the
society? Why was marriage for a young woman so important? ) Yente s role in the village is to be the
matchmaker. She was entrusted with finding husbands for the young ladies in the village. The Jewish

Art Museum Of Fort Worth Texas
This influence and style continued at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth Texas. Louis Kahn is a
modern architect that designed the Kimbell Art Museum. Kahn emerged from the Beaux Arts
movement but became one of the foremost American Modernist architects of the 1950 s and 60 s
(Kimball, 1990). Kahn created a building for the Kimbell Art Museum that also complimented the art
and did not distract the viewer (Kimball, 1990). He was commissioned to design the Kimbell Art
Museum from 1966 1972). Kahn s museums are individual to the point of idiosyncrasy, yet they
remain transparent to the works of the art they house (Kimball, 1990). The Yale University Art
Gallery, designed by Kahn, has an intimate studio feel as employed at the Museum of Modern Art
(Binns, 2004 p. 17). Kahn also utilized similar materials that Goodwin and Stone incorporated. The
Yale University Art Gallery is made of large pieces of glass and steel (Binns, 2004, p. 17). Many of
the materials used at Kahn s three museums are glass, steel, concrete, and brick (Eliasoph, 2009, p.
317). During the 2005 remodeling, the team attempts at restoring much of Kahn s original design
elements at it considers it a very important part of architectural history (Binns, 2004, p. 17). As a
modernist, Kahn also used flexible gallery walls at the Kimbell Art Museum. Kahn s innovative pogo
wall panels are also being re introduced for the display of artwork (Eliasoph, 2009, 317). The walls

Puretone Audiogram Shows Hearing Loss
Puretone audiogram showed moderate to severe sensorineural hearing loss from 250 to 2000 Hz
bilaterally. No responses recorded at higher frequencies at the audiometric limit.
Speech audiometry showed reduced speech discrimination abilities at high intensities. However, this is
consistent with her puretone audiometric results.
Tympanometry showed normal tympanometric peak and pressure bilaterally. Absent acoustic reflexes
were noted at all test frequencies for both ears.
B. Characteristics and limitations of Sue s current hearing aids.
One of the first things, perhaps the most important during hearing aids fitting, is to provide
appropriate gain for the patient after a thorough hearing assessment. Oticon Intiga RITE (receiver in
the ear) is aimed at an immediately comfortable fit and minimal occlusion to thus minimize unnatural
sensations. To use an RITE with open fit domes, Sue needs to have good low frequency hearing.
Apparently, it cannot provide enough gain Sue needed in the fitting software. It uses smaller (size 10)
batteries compared to batteries used by many other miniature hearing aids (size 312 or 13), which
could also pose management issues.
Intiga 6 s modulation based noise management does not allow channel specific noise reduction,
compared to TriState Noise Management. Modulation based noise management assesses the
likelihood of rather constant noise in specific frequency regions and tends to be sensitive to the
presence of any noise, whether speech is also

Applying The Thin Flexible Compression Column For...
This report provides a comprehensive design methodology for the thin flexible compression column
for implementation into a load bearing garment. The thin flexible compression column exists as part
of a larger load bearing system, which has military and civilian applications in load assist and injury
prevention. This system was designed to quasi actively assist in the load carriage for a soldier (body
armor and rucksack) without sacrificing safety, flexibility, or comfort. The column serves as the
connection between shoulder and waist, transferring load in compression.
The studies begin with the development of the initial concept, the continuous floating constraint
buckling column. This concept consists of a flexible composite column, under axial loading, buckling
to higher modes between rigid lateral constraints. The concept is proven by a comprehensive
experimental demonstration. A dynamic FEA model of that system is developed and studied.
Experimental response proved consistent with FEA results. The model accurately predicts buckling
forces, lateral reaction forces, stresses, strains, friction, modal shapes, and deflection. The geometric
variables of the continuous floating constraint were optimized using the FEA model, and final tests
were carried out. A second more flexible concept is devised using the lessons learned from the
continuous floating constraint design and FEA model. The results generated from the FEA model as
well as practical considerations

The United States And The Soviet Union Essay
Toronto, Canada Since the end of World War Two, the United States and the Soviet Union have
experienced a number of political clashes. From the Marshall Plan to the Korean war, to testing
nuclear weapons, and to the use of missiles, the United States and the Soviet Union have definitely
established a divide between the two empires. The growing dependence of the United States in Europe
and Great Britain has increased imperialist speculation from the USSR. However, the United States
justifies their presence though the policy of Containment, in its attempt to defend democracy. Also
since post World War Two, there has been a massive increase of arms in both the Soviet Union and the
United States. From the booming economy of the war and the devastating atomic bombs in Hiroshima
and Nagasaki, the United States became a global superpower. The need for efficient nuclear weapons
suddenly became an obsession. In 1952, the USSR managed to develop their own Atomic bomb,
which threatened the position of the United States. And from there an arms race began. The use of
nuclear weapons is an extreme that neither empire wishes to reach, however, the public is not certain.
The Red Scare is very prevalent in the United States, especially with allegations of Soviet infiltration
in the government from Senator McCarthy. As a result, a fear of espionage has risen. Politicians and
the general public has internalized the fear of espionage to the extent that propaganda has been
released and

Editing In The Battle At Ambush Gulch
Fox News constantly shows and support Trump s remarks on Hispanic and Muslims and his political
views while other networks question his them. The media manipulates images, videos, and messages
in order to convey it according to the networks moral compass through a procedure called editing.
Editing is a vital part of the media, and an effective use of it in films can convincingly persuade
audience into believing the filmmaker s narrative of good and bad. The Battle at Elderbush Gulch by
D.W. Griffith and The Shirt by Shelly Niro edit their films effectively to convey their story and
messages. In The Battle of Elderbush Gulch, the Aboriginals are depicted as the bad guys, while The
Shirt shows the Aboriginal s side of the story by conveying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Given the fact that the film was made in 1913, it would be safe to assume that discrimination and
prejudice are still present against the Aboriginals. For example, the federal Department of Indian
Affairs did not do a good job of encouraging an interest in literature and the Aboriginals did not get
much out due to this. The film shows more of the arc of the protagonists showing them move to their
uncle s home where dogs are not allowed. Meanwhile, the Aboriginals nearby are having some sort of
ceremony. The way the film is edited at its beginning shows in great detail how well mannered the
girls are and how nice the people of the town are while the scenes with the Aboriginals are shown in a
way that the audience is not able to understand what the Aboriginals are doing and what the ceremony
is for because their scene is shortened when compared to the scenes with the white people.
Furthermore, the editing in the scenes leading up to and including the murder of the Chief s son
clearly portrays the Aboriginals as the villains. One of the battle scenes, when the Aboriginals are
surrounding the house the shot is taken from afar. This scene is edited in such that the shot has a
vignette which is concentrated at and around the house. It shows the Aboriginals are killing all these
white people but whatever is happening in the areas of the shot that are black is open to speculation.

Ideals of Liberalism Expressed in President Obama s Speeches
In President Obama s speech at the U.S. and China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, he outlines the
essential steps in advancing a positive, constructive, and comprehensive relationship between the two
countries. In the President s 2011 State of the Union Address, he provides four critical steps to achieve
economic recovery in addition to several pressing domestic and international policies. What both these
speeches hold in common, is the logic behind the liberalism tradition of international relations. The
foundations of the President s speeches are set in the ideals of liberalism from which rise three strands
of modern liberal thinking: economic, social, and political. Liberalism is a distinct ideology and set of
institutions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of the President s speeches are structured around modern ideals of liberalism concerning
economic, social, and political issues. The President s main focuses in his State of the Union Address
and Speech to China was economic stability. The President calls upon China for the cooperation to
advance our mutual interest in a lasting economic recovery through trade that is free and fair. The
President addresses economic improvement in his State of the Union Address through the promotion
of innovation, education, and infrastructure in the United States which will lead increased exports. He
promotes expansion of free trade programs with Central American and Asia Pacific. Free trade does
not just help the economy, but according Richard Rosencrance in his theory of economic
interdependence, trade fosters peace by making trade more profitable than invasion. Mutual economic
interest and prosperity will lead to increased relationships between the United States and China.
Joseph Nye s position regarding the social aspect of liberalism argues that person to person contact
reduces conflict by promoting understanding. The President promotes the interaction of individuals
from the United States with their counterparts throughout the World in both his speeches. In his
speech to China, the President calls for increased interaction between American and Chinese people
through business to find tomorrows solutions for the problems of clean

Porn and Censorship
Pornography and Censorship
Should the government be allowed to legitimately prohibit citizens from publishing or viewing
pornography, or would this be an unjustified violation of basic freedoms?
Traditionally, liberals defended the freedom of consenting adults to publish and consume pornography
in private from moral and religious conservatives who wanted pornography banned for its obscenity,
its corrupting impact on consumers and its corrosive effect on traditional family and religious values.
But, in more recent times, the pornography debate has taken on a somewhat new and surprising shape.
Some feminists have found themselves allied with their traditional conservative foes in calling on the
state to regulate or prohibit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other sexually explicit representations depict acts of violent coercion: people being bound, whipped,
beaten, tortured, penetrated by objects, mutilated, raped and even killed. Some sexually explicit
material may be degrading, without necessarily being overtly violent. This material depicts people
(most often women) in positions of servility and subordination in their sexual relations with others, or
engaged in sexual acts that many people would regard as humiliating. Some sexually explicit material
involves or depicts children. Some portrays bestiality and necrophilia; and so on.
On the first definition of pornography as sexually explicit material, all such material would count as
pornography, insofar as it is sexually explicit. But this simple definition is not quite right. Anatomy
textbooks for medical students are sexually explicit they depict exposed genitalia, for example but are
rarely, if ever, viewed as pornography. Sexual explicitness may be a necessary condition for material
to count as pornographic, but it does not seem to be sufficient. So something needs to be added to the
simple definition. What else might be required?
Here is a second definition. Pornography is sexually explicit material (verbal or pictorial) that is
primarily designed to produce sexual arousal in viewers. This definition is better: it deals with the
problem of anatomy textbooks and the like. Indeed, this

Abstract
In 1997, the Asian Financial Crisis spread rapidly all over the Asia and affected almost all the
economies in the world. Prior to the Asian Financial Crisis, the Asian countries such as Thailand,
Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore experienced a remarkable growth in the
economy that was considered the highest in the world. These Asian economies increased by a notable
proportion of 6 to 10 percent annually in the GDP. However, what had been regarded as an Asian
miracle seemed to crumple down rapidly 1997 when these Asian countries were faced with a severe

Regardless of the negotiations for support grant from the IMF and the United States Treasury, the
monetary drainage persisted and Brazil was forced to devalue its currency. As a result, the Brazilian
government authorized the real to float, while it abandoned linking its currency to the U.S. dollar. The
financial crisis in Brazil spread out rapidly to other nations in Latin America and as a result several
billions of dollars were drained from these countries and this hindered the trade exchange with the
United States. As a result, the nations in the Latin America experienced one of the nastiest economic
recession that was mainly fuelled by the Asian financial crisis. The effect of the financial disaster was
predominantly severe in the Latin America s small economies, for instance Bolivia, Uruguay, Ecuador,
Chile and, Argentina and Colombia (Hunter, 1999).
Petti (2001) argues that financial shocks can move rapidly throughout the nations within similar
regions as it was revealed by the Mexican peso disaster that occurred in the year 1994. Similarly, the
financial crisis that affected the Asian countries proved to be a regional financial crisis and it
threatened geographically distant vibrant economies mostly in the Latin America. The Latin America
countries began experiencing the effects of the Asian financial crisis in 1997

The Rebellion Of Mother, By Mary Wilkins Freeman Essay
The Power of a Woman The Revolt of Mother, by Mary Wilkins Freeman, originally published in
Harper s Bazaar in 1890 (Gale 1997) it gives readers a view into the life of a woman who is struggling
with how to be correct and proper yet, remain true to herself. While some may see Sarah s actions as
signs of weakness they are actually showing her strength. She is a woman who, in spite of the
restrictions placed on her because of her gender shows the power of a woman by, knowing when to
pick her battles, showing love for her family by serving them, and following her heart to make the
hard decisions regardless of the opposition. The opening scene has Sarah Penn picks her battles in a
conversation with her husband. A glimpse is given of Adoniram, the husband s feelings about the
conversation he knows is coming. It must have been a familiar battle between them; he is unwilling to
discuss, and she is unwilling to leave until she gets answers. She exudes a quiet strength, as she stands
waiting, her physical characteristics are described But her eyes, fixed upon the old man, looked as if
the meekness had been the result of her own will, never the will of another. (Freeman 145). She is a
woman who understands the rules of society regarding her gender and she knows when and where to
pick her battles. Later in the story, Sarah again shows strength in knowing when to pick her battles
with her husband. She speaks up when she must and stays silent when she recognizes the

Pop Art Research Paper
Notably Pop Art and Assemblages have been described as brash and also extreme and subversive in
terms of the sixties pop art period. Some early stirrings of this movement can be traced back to
England in the late fifties, with a small association of: artists, designers and historians known as the
ICA. Institutes of Contemporary Art, London. Given the intellectual approach to science, culture and
material s being explored within these early beginning s. It became evident that the robust influence of
Dada elements, were being manipulated into the pop movement. This necessary development, in terms
of the use of Dada art paid homage to the concept of Assemblages but it was Duchamp s contribution
that was invaluable from its original context ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This being said indicates that Pop art could be seen as one of those crossover movements. The
confusion and extreme madness of colour and space show events of the Dada influence. Investigating
the historical and cultural issues could be the starting point for many artworks and inspiration. To say
that an artwork is brash, extreme or subversive, indicates a responds to any artwork or movement.
However the point of art, to get a respond either being good or bad... If you have serious ideas, you
make art, discoveries, and all of a sudden your head starts to break up into laughter, if you find that all
your ideas are useless and ridiculous, know that DADA HAS BEGUN TO SPEAK TO YOU 10.The
readymade object being seen as a thing becomes an issue of context rather than the use of materials.
The question it raises, is it art because its contexts are in a gallery space? or should we ask what is the
fundamental aim of the objects used? The object of art is the intelligently language in a visual format.
The Dada movements short influence could be seen as a weapon that injected humour both in a
rebellious and spontaneous revolution. This could be misread and not seen as well though out, however

Racial Profiling Theory
Racial profiling is an ever growing issue in the world. Not growing in that it is becoming more of an
issue, but growing in that citizens who are not victims are finally seeing and understanding racial
profiling and its role in the criminal justice system, and also victims themselves are becoming more
outspoken and encouraged to fight back about the injustices they are facing. The two go hand in hand,
as there are more people willing to listen, there are more people willing to speak out. The first and
second section of this paper will dedicate itself to understanding and considering the social factors and
the legal factors that enable racial profiling to exist in Canada. The third section of this paper will

Is is enabled not only by the government, government officials, police, lawyers and anyone else who
falls into a similar style of categorization, but it is also perpetuated by citizens themselves, through
their own racist ideologies or through their disinterest and lack of initiative to change the way society
and the legal system view minorities. There is also the factor of it being a very difficult task to address
the problem of racial profiling in the criminal justice system because small scale legal reforms do not
seem to be making an impact, and large scale legal reforms are very difficult to foster. These factors
are extremely essential to consider as the only way to determine the best course of action to avoid a
system such as racial profiling, is by acknowledging and deconstructing the very structures that keep
the practice in place in the first place. It is especially important to consider legal and social factors as
these factors would be so ingrained into our society and the comfort of our everyday lives that many
would not bother to give a second thought on the discussion. The only way to grow and evolve as a
society (with the inclusion of a growing and evolving legal system) is to continue to question what we
believe we know and to challenge the structures prevailing in our society that in any way seem unfair
or unjust. For this reason,

Kiwi Forest Birds
Before pests were introduced into New Zealand, it was home to thousands of birds and these all
evolved without the threat of predatory land mammals. Except for two species of bat, there were no
land mammals in New Zealand before humans arrived. Because of this, plants and animals did not
evolve defence mechanisms or any way to protect themselves from the predators. For instance, the
leaves of plants do not contain poisons to deter browsing mammals, while many birds and insects have
lost their ability to fly. Possums, rats, stoats, ferrets and feral cats all kill adult birds, their chicks and
raid their nests for eggs. They are also major competitors for sometimes wiping out entirely critical

the population of local birds if not carried out with enough care. There have been individuals found

Product Features Of The Home Appliance Industry
2. Durable Household industry overview The home appliance industry is a multi billion dollar industry
which includes the Major Appliances (refrigerators, cookers, dishwashers, washing machines dryers),
Small Appliances (Vacuum cleaners, iron, accessories) and Home Comfort products (air conditioners,
water heaters). Home appliances industry competes on the basis of:  Cost structure that impacts the
ability to compete on price.  Product features that can provide a competitive advantage, through
innovation  Brand names recognition as a strong basis in the consumer driven appliance market.
Kahn (2015) states that over the last five years the Industry revenue increased 5.5%, reaching $191.3
billion in 2015, expecting an annualized 3.8% grow over the next five years, representing industry
revenue of $230.3 billion in 2020. As it is illustrated in figure 1, the industry consists in five major
players that account for about 39% of industry market share in a low level of concentration industry
that varies between market segment and by region, experiencing consolidation mainly due to company
efforts to build economies of scale and scope, with significant merger activity (Kahn 2015). To
increase profit margins, home appliance manufacturers are aiming to build sales volume especially in
emerging markets, increasing productivity and moving production to regions with lower cost labour;

Justice Floral Distribution And A Disaster Recovery Plan...
Justice Floral Distribution has successfully been in business for 2 years now. To insure that the
company remains successful we need to create a disaster plan. It has recently come to my attention
that we do not have one and it is crucial that we create one as soon as possible. In case of an
unforeseen event, which can bring our production to a halt our company needs to recover as rapidly as
possible to continue its services to its clients. Not having a disaster recovery plan in place can put the
company at risk of high financial costs, reputation loss and even greater risks to our employees.
Purpose
We need to be prepared in case of an emergency, whether it is a natural disaster, network outages,
active shooter events, data breaches and more. While doing research, I came upon two other types of
plans that are also essential. They are a business continuity plan and a disaster recovery plan.
According to Business Continuity Institute, Business Continuity is: The strategic and tactical
capability of the organization to plan for and respond to incidents and business disruptions in order to
continue business operations at an acceptable predefined level.
In other words, having a Business Continuity Plan ensures that the company is prepared to continue
business procedures after an unforeseen event. This would mean that our employees, building,
contracts, and infrastructure would be able to continue to operate in the event of any type of
disruption.

Task 1 Health Indicators Of Wellbeing
Task 1:
Question 1 Health indicators of wellbeing
My question is:
If life expectancy is high in a given country will the income or GDP per person also be high
The two indicators that I have chosen are:
Life expectancy: The average number of years a newborn child would live if current mortality patterns
were to stay the same. Life expectancy is an indicator of wellbeing because the higher the GDP the
longer you will live because you can afford medicine and healthcare to take care of yourself and the
healthier your body is then the longer live. Docs.google.com, (2015).

important information and indicators such as experienced well being, life expectancy and Ecological
footprints. It is different to other measures of wellbeing because it shows a very important aspect of
life, happiness. Other forms of measures just measure the wellbeing of people such as GDP rates and
life expectancy of countries. But the HPI measures the happiness of a country, this is good because it
could be compared with other indicators such as poverty and income. It shows that countries with a lot
of money will not always be

Coronal Mass Ejection Essay
Coronal Mass Ejection also known as CME is usually created around the sun s surface by magnetic
reconnection. CME is a large bubble of gas and magnetic field lines that are emerged from the sun.
There isn t a full proven understanding of how CME s occur but Astronomers have come to a theory
that because the sun is a fluid, the turbulence gets kinks that get shot out into space in any direction as
a superheated gas. The gas that is ejected from the sun is made of protons and electrons carried
through solar winds. This gas is known as plasma and can accelerate over 1 million miles per hour and
reach Earth that is 93 million miles away in less than 4 days. When the sun is most active Coronal
Mass Ejections can happen multiple times per day however, it usually occurs once every 5 days. Its
definition is the effect on earth if a massive event in the result of struggling to survive. This refers to a
specific form of continuing education that helps those in the medical field, maintain competence and
learn about the new and developing area in their own field of work. Content for these programs is
developed, reviewed, and delivered by faculty who are experts in their individual clinical areas. These
activities may take place in live events, written applications, electronic media, online programs, video,

Background and Rationale of the Study
Airsoft is one of the newest and fastest growing sport in the Philippines. It is somewhat similar to
paintball in that your primary goal is to shoot your opponent with an air powered weapon but that is
where the similarities end. Most paintballers play in small field with brightly colored flashy uniforms.
Airsofter s on the other hand prefer MilSim (Military Simulation).

When it comes to the guns themselves in airsoft, there are three styles of systems they use to fire the
BB pellets. You have electric powered gun, or AEG s (automatic electric guns). This is most popular
type of airsoft gun.
Airsoft entails not only shooting skills, but also physical strength and mental ability for you to achieve
efficiently all the objectives set in every game. May the best team win, said Team SCAR president
Jeson L. Guardo.
As people nowadays are drawn into outdoor sports, this study introduces new exciting activities to try
on in the city. This study aids the need of the airsoft enthusiast for a proper gaming area with
additional courses related to the battle field games for a more realistic and adrenalin rush game.
Airsoft Adventure Park offers airsoft plus high and low courses to enjoy for bonding, personal
development and team building purposes.

Things Happened Before The Industrial Revolution
Industrial Revolution Essay
When you look at the world today you see all the factory´s, manufacturing, and technology all around
you. These things would not have happened without the industrial revolution. I´m here to talk about
all of the changes that happened in the industrial revolution. Things like farming, factory and
manufacturing, and communication and transportation.
One of the biggest changes was farming, it was a huge thing before the industrial revolution. It just got
better after. One of the big inventions was the steel plow. The midwestern soil was to thick for normal
iron plows. John Deere made the steel plow to cut through that soil for more farming land. Another
invention was the mechanical reaper. This made farming faster by having the crops mechanically
harvested. That let the people who had to harvest them by hand able to do something else. The
mechanical reaper was invented by Cyrus McCormick, in 1831 it was a big step in the farming
industry. Finally the threshing machine, is a piece of farm equipment that threshes grain, it removes

Apple Company Case Study
Apple is a multinational company that started in California 1976 and is now the most valuable
company on the fortune 500 lists at $750 billion dollars. Apple first started in a garage and now has
over 450 stores worldwide in over 17 countries. Apple s main manufacturing plants moved overseas in
the early 2000s laying off 1000s of American workers and brought up some unethical thoughts on
companies moving overseas to make a profit for themselves and shareholders instead of the greater
good. Apple is driven by many factors all of which come back to profit and growth for its company
and shareholders. Milton Friedman an American economist who believed that companies like apple
should only worry about their own profit and growth and that they had their own personal and social
responsibility to become the best that they can be, this is true for the company as well as its executives
who think solely about themselves and shareholders. Apple falls under the utilitarianism doctrine, the
concept that it creates the greatest overall happiness that some might not seem as right or just, it s for
the best benefit overall. Apple is a very powerful and driven and growing company that has a very
defining and identifiable logo as well as many trade marks, copyrights and patents that helps protect
their company from other competition. All of these factors help Apple continue to grow and thrive the
way they have over the last 40 years. Their specific laws can also define Apple like other

Augustus of Prima Porta and Justinian, Bishop Maximianus, and Attendants
Power is always important in human society since society s existence. Emperors, kings, queens and
presidents in every culture and history have tried everything to solidify their reign and enhance their
power. One thing they all did is to build a strange and powerful image of themselves. Politicians
nowadays use social media and press to build their images which are smart, powerful or trustworthy,
Just like things the emperors did in thousands years ago. Gaius Octavius Thurinus is a adopted son of
Julius Caesar, He is the first true emperor of the Roman Empire, he was believed to be one of the most
important emperor of Roma. In 43 EBC, Octavian gathered his army to kill the senate who planned
the assassinate targeting Julius Caesar, his adoptive father. Then, he defeat Mark Antony and
Cleopatra who was his allies but later betrayed him. Thus , he ended the war continued for decades
and brought the great peace to Rome, In 29 EBC Octavian declared the pax romana, also know as the
Roman peace. In 27 BCE, he was bestowed the title of Augustus by the Roman senate which was
actually reestablished by Augustus himself. In order to remind the Romans the emperor s power,
Augustus ordered sculptor to sculpt the idealized form of him and send those sculptures to every

Essay about Pornography s Effects on Relationships
Pornography s Effects on Relationships
When it comes to relationships there are many things that need to be present in order for it to work
out. You must have support from both sides and honesty is also a big factor. When pornography enters
a relationship it can be destroyed and could possible ruin that relationship forever. This essay will be
able to inform you of all the ways that pornography can and does ruin relationships. Support for this
argument will be drawn from the following sources: Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, Love, Sex,
and Health, and The Question of Pornography.
First of all trust is one of the biggest factors when it comes to being in a relationship. It there is no
trust it could all easily fall apart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When women find out that men went behind their backs and even lied to them this is when the
relationship takes a turn for the worse. Women take lying very seriously and when they find out they
have been lied to, it causes a lot of disappointment. Most relationships end at this point because
honesty is no longer present in their relationship.
Pornography can take a toll on women s emotions as well as their self esteem. When women first find
out that their husbands have been using pornography they begin to feel that is their fault. They start to
put themselves down and think that they are sexually undesirable, worthless, weak, and stupid
(Bergner 194). For many women this could mean a big time emotional break down. Women begin to
think that their husbands are using pornography because they cannot satisfy them and make them
happier than the other women that they are looking at. Bergner points out that men don t understand
what they cause their partners to feel once they have found out about their second life. Women feel
that they are constantly being compared to porn stars and not looked at for whom they really are. This
makes them think that whenever they do engage in sexual activities that their husbands are not
thinking about them, they are thinking about the women that they have been looking at. Bergner
explains that most relationships are ended at this point because these women will never fell the same

I am a candidate for AAS in Accounting at St. Paul College and University in Minneapolis, Minnesota
for a full degree in accounting. It is my long term goal to be a financial consultant. Nowadays, the
business world is changing at a faster and faster pace. The reasons for this faster pace are globalization
, information technology, and the faster pace in technological change. The role of IT has shifted over
the last decades to become an important part of how firms manage and control their resources. As the
result, IT plays a critical role in accounting. IT is the platform for accounting data and it allows certain
sophisticated queries to be performed though, IT clearly plays an important role in accounting
functions. The impact of IT in firms is broad and manifested in the most varied ways in the integrated
systems, which includes ERP systems, internet, intranet, and so on, walk hand in hand with the firm
know how. These technologies have altered the way firms work and their accounting functions.
However, the constant growing and changing field of IT has had an important impact on all levels of
the firm s organization. In this context, the term information management has emerged as the most
common name. As rue result, management information systems were developed to support the new
role of accountant. This new role forced accountants to become the interpreter of information and to
deal with the information overload. Now, the accounting department is now responsible to

The Negative Consequences Of Texting And Driving

Kant s Refutations of the Proofs of the Existence of God...
Kant s Refutations of the Proofs of the Existence of God
There are three types of proof for the existance of God:
The Ontological Proof:
God is the most perfect conceivable being. Existence is more perfect than non existence. God by
definition exists.
The Cosmological Proof:
Everything contingent must have a cause. If this cause is also contingent, then it too must also have a
cause. This chain of causes and effects must have a beginning a necessary cause. This necessary cause
must be God.
The Physico Theological Proof:
Observations about the particular constitution of the sensible world provide proof of the existence of
God.

As soon as a person has admitted that he/she has a concept of God , by this argument, then that person
has also admitted God s existence (in the same way that admitting you have the concept of a triangle
is, is to admit that a triangle has three angles). Like most of Kant s topics of discussion, it is difficult
to fully grasp the entirety of what is being said. However, unlike most other cases, this time I don t
think it s entirely his fault. In fact, his refutation to this deceivingly simple argument is (perhaps
deceivingly) actually quite simple. Existence cannot be a predicate. In the sentence Thomas is the
teacher , the word is is not the predicate, but it is the word that implies existence. Therefore, the
sentence God is does not contain a predicate. A predicate is a word that ads a quality to the concept of
the thing it is applied to existence is not a quality. The cosmological argument, according to Kant, is
too well known for it to be necessary to expound it in detail here (P570), so if you don t know it, you
can join me in feeling like an idiot #8230; However, he then goes on to quickly explain the argument.
I also took the liberty of finding out where this argument came from and it seems to have started with
Aristotle and also used by Aquinas. Aristotle said that the fact that there is movement could prove the
existence of an unmoved mover (God). In other words

Music Education And Emotional Intelligence
A great musician can successfully realize two critical aspects of music while performing, the physical
and abstract. While the technical requirements of such an endeavor can be aided through direct
musical instruction, in earlier stages of musical growth the emotional demands require guidance by a
teacher and self exploration from the participant. Once success in this area becomes apparent, musical
benefits emerge and the journey the individual undertook also helps shape their emotional intelligence.
By answering the question of how music education affects an individual s emotional knowledge of
music and themselves, it will become possible to see the benefits of teaching music students with an
emphasize on emotional learning. The first task requires the establishing of a relationship between
music education and emotional intelligence, then different pedagogical techniques can be explored
and gauged for their success in producing the desired effects, all which will help draw the connections
between both ideas. Here are the parameters that will be used to guide the following discussion. The
term music education is the teaching and learning of music (Colwell). The term emotional intelligence
, also know as EI or EQ, was introduced by Daniel Goleman and colleagues and is defined as a person
s ability to recognize emotions, make a choice as to what emotions are appropriate for given
circumstances, and then be able to effectively communicate those emotions (Wood 168). In terms

The SMART Port Security is a legislation that created new layers of security in U.S. ports in a cost
effective manner. The legislation emphasizes the need of creating strong partnership among federal,
state, and local governments as well as with private and international organizations (Homeland
security committee, 2012). The goal is to ensure that security efforts at all levels are effectively
coordinated and integrated so that there can be more layers of security without having to invest
additional resources. This is accomplished by identifying redundancies or repetitive security measures
that are useless, which will allow port authorities to convert them into more useful security layers
(Homeland security committee, 2012). Moreover, the legislation also encourages the Department of

Perfectionism As A Multidimensional Personality...
To be perfect is impossible. But the ability to achieve the impossible is the temptress. Perfectionism
has been described as a multidimensional personality disposition. Indicating that the multiple
dimensions can show either different or opposite correlations with maladaptive or adaptive
psychological processes (Stoeber, Corr, Smith, Saklofske, 2016). It is a personality disposition that can
be characterized by a striving for flawlessness and setting exceedingly high standards for oneself.
These standards can pertain to performances that are subsequently accompanied by self critical
evaluations and the perception that others expect one to be perfect (Stoeber, 2016; Stoeber, Edbrooke
Childs, Damian, 2016). Perfectionism is a disposition that pervades all areas of life including but not
limited to work, school, personal appearance, and social relationships (Stoeber, Edbrooke Childs,
Damian, 2016). Some define perfectionism into two categories, perfectionistic strivings, and
perfectionistic concerns. Perfectionistic strivings reflect perfectionistic personal standards and a self
oriented strive for perfection. Perfectionistic concerns on the other hand, reflect concerns over
mistakes, fear of judgment from others, and doubt about actions (Stoeber, 2016). Clinical
psychologists regard perfectionism as a personality disposition associated with psychopathology and
mental health problems (Stoeber, 2016). With that being said, perfectionism is defined as

The Major League Baseball (MLB) even has teams in Canada. New York is the city we are talking

baseball. I wont even mention all of the other major league sports that currently reside there. I have to
give you some facts about the city of New York. Currently there are two teams there, the Yankees and

Overall, there have been thirty five MLB World Series and seventy three pennants won by New York
Teams. There has even a Sub way Series, which means that the two New York teams played each
other. Taking a sub way to each of their respected fields to play the game. To be exact there has been

Counselling means talking about your feelings with a professional trained psychologist who can help
you change your thoughts about life, or behaviours that may be causing you to be depressed. Medicine
is used to treat depression that is more severe. When you feel seriously depressed and its taking over
your life than antidepressant medications might be necessary. With some sort of depression many
depressed teens say they feel it just a few weeks. Remember, when you feel as if everything is
impossible and you don t feel wanted, you are not alone.

Selfishness In The Grapes Of Wrath And Raging Bull
The Dangerous Effects of Selfishness within The Grapes of Wrath and Raging Bull John Steinbeck
and Martin Scorsese passionately created The Grapes of Wrath and Raging Bull regarding the art of
selfishness in an attempt to recreate problems that society faces today. In today s society, the word
selfishness is a synonym of evil; the image it produces is of a fierce animal who tramples over others
in order to achieve their goals, who cares for no one, and lives only to gratify their immediate needs.
In some instances selfishness is well founded and it s use could be justified, however, in The Grapes
of Wrath and Raging Bull, that is not the case. Often selfishness is seen as one sided affecting only the
victim but in both the movie and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Selfishness will most often result in someone being hurt; however The Grapes of Wrath shows how
others selfishness can hurt those in need, while Raging Bull shows how the selfishness of a human
could result in his despair. The Grapes of Wrath shows the reader how being self centered blinds you
to the struggles that others face and could lead them to ultimate failure. The novel follows the journey
of the Tom Joad and his family for the majority of the story. As they travel south in the hope of a
better life they experience obstacles that appear to stop them from achieving their goal. In The Grapes
of Wrath the futility of the family s success is brought on by others fighting against them; not
economic and environmental issues like the reader would rightly assume. They consistently face
selfish beings that are trying to get themselves ahead without thinking of the effect it could have on
the poor family. All throughout the novel Steinbeck is showing the reader how humans incessantly
steal from each other in order to get ahead. The car salesman in Chapter 7 sell migrants broken cars
for high prices; knowing they are unable to refuse because of their determination to move south as
well as most of them being evicted from their

Banning Books Essay

The practice of censorship and banning of books in learning institution has been prevalent mostly due
to the explicit content incorporated in them. However, banning of certain books in pretense to conceal
content perceived inappropriate to impressionable children is an infringement of their right to access
information of their area of choice. While banning some book at times has valid reasons, it is
important to endorse and emphasize that every child has the liberty to select, at their discretion, which
book to read. While it is agreeable that parents and teachers should play a noble role in regulating
books that entail controversial topics as well as educating their children as their primary guardian,
their right does not extend to controlling and monitoring what children read ... Show more content on

Book censorship and bans only primes to conformity and thus limiting the variety and range of
expression as well as inquiry on which the philosophy depends. Banning and censoring reading
materials is capable of limiting the technological innovations, research as well as creativity. It is hence
the responsibility of the democracy to avail a diversity of views whether popular or unpopular and else
should not coerce the opinions and ideas of some while inhibiting the exertions of others (Memphis,
1). Rather than banning books content, publishers should rather give complete connotation to the
liberty of reading by providing books capable of enriching the diversity as well as the quality of
knowledge. Reading liberation is of diminutive consequence not unless the reader obtains materials
suiting their purposes. Books should hence not be banned due to diverse peoples conflicting views
either since one is not entitled to agree with what he reads but should rather learn from it. For instance,
history aids students in knowing the events that transpired to shape the world as it is

Summary Of Professor Blossom Damania
In this video Professor Blossom Damania talked about how KSHV sequence generates primers and
how the virus Herpes exist on normal healthy people. I learned that the virus is waiting for something
to go wrong so they can harm you. I also learned that KSHV was discovered because of the AIDS
epidemic, but I didn t know that Kaposi Sarcoma was around longer than that. I learned that in 1872,
Mortiz Kaposi described the cancer in Europe as blotches on the skin, which targeted older men
because they are immunosuppressed. I learned that this is because, as you age your immune system
goes down. I learned that in the 80 s there was no diagnosis of HIV so if someone show up with
Kaposi Sarcoma, the doctors would use this as a sign that they have HIV.

Cultural Similarities Between India And India
Cultural Similarities and Differences between China and India Introduction
There is a great deal more in like manner between the two nations socially, than say, between a
Chinese (or Indian) and an American or European. A snag might be the dialect. Numerous Chinese
from Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong visiting India communicates in English and feel good in
their relations with Indian individuals. Indian individuals are insightful, persevering and family
situated, same as the Chinese (Moran 345). They are likewise extraordinarily otherworldly and
demonstrate resilience and regard for other individuals religions and convictions. In Hong Kong, by
far most of Indians communicate in Cantonese. They are fruitful in what they do and fit into the group
consistently.
Cultural Similarities
Moreover, as neighbors for a long time, a great deal of culture has been shared and exchanged
between the two. In that capacity, the way of life is fundamentally the same as from various
perspectives. One could compose a book on this theme (Moran 345). It is just a small attempt to give
you an insight of how similar are these two countries. Indian and Chinese culture contingent on four
social variables which are: Cooking, Celebrations, Conventional Dress and Customary Music.
Loving their cooking is a great deal in both the countries India and China. The propensity to begin
eateries and Restaurants abroad as you can find may Indian and Chinese restaurants in many
countries.

I made the reminders calls last week and when I spoke to the clients, they told me that they understood
their appointments time but many ended up cancelling their appointments last minute. They claim that
they never got a reminder call and what really frustrated me was that some of them had an 8am
appointment and I had to wake up extra early to meet them at NSC, but they cancelled. I asked my
supervisor if we could do reminders calls the day before, but she told me that NSC wants them to be
independent and reminding them the day before will make them dependent on NSC. I honestly just
want them to make their appointments or call NSC ahead of time if they are not going to make it
because some of their appointments are schedule months in advance and it is hard to get. After the first
two cancellations, I learned to just except it because overtime NSC will not be there to hold their hand
forever and they will learn to be responsible of their own

INTRODUCTION Over 88% of the American people want to know if they are consuming food or

laboratory through genetic engineering, or GE, according to the non GMO project website. (nongmo

organisms may be able to live longer, speed up the growth process, or withstand herbicides and

In 2014, around the globe, nearly 500 million acres of biotech crops were grown in 28 countries. That
s at least 15 million acres more than were grown in 2013. (Penn State College of Agricultural
Sciences, the science of GMOs)It is important to research my topic because by not knowing or being
informed, we are in danger of losing a sound body or mind. Not labeling genetically modified
organisms can also cause multiple health issues, by not labeling them people are at risk because
genetically modified organisms can cause allergies and later lead to sever defects and even death. This
paper is not to debate the safety of genetically modified organisms, rather to raise awareness about the
social injustice of not labeling genetically modified organisms. Though there is substantial evidence
that rules in favor of the safety of Genetically Modified Organisms, there is also a considerable
amount of evidence that can prove that Genetically Modified Organisms are not safe. Only 37 percent
of the American public believes that GM foods are safe to eat, while 88 percent of scientists believe
they are safe , according to a survey conducted in 2014 by the Pew Research Center. However the two
are completely different social injustices. If Genetically Modified Organisms are truly safe, why are
they not labeled? Monsanto spends millions of dollars to change the genetic material of natural seeds,
into genetically modified seeds and sells them to farmers to make their crops.

Pros And Cons Of Being An Outfield Essay
Playing outfield has always been said as the spot they put the losers or ones who aren t good enough
to play infield, however this could not be any more untrue. Being able to play outfield, and being able
to be an effective and good outfielder are two completely different things. Anyone can go out there
and pick their nose or just stand around and be completely lost until everyone start yelling and telling
you to get the ball, well after it leaves the bat. Today I m going to tell you the major things you need to
know to not only be a good outfielder but also be able to rake at the plate.
The difference between being a good and great outfielder can be some very simple, and can make a
big difference in a game. Something very simple that can make a huge difference, is being ready and
paying attention at all times. Playing outfield it can be very boring out there, especially when you have
a very good pitcher, like Jacob and Aaron. One of the next things that is a significant game changer, is
taking a good angle to the ball. In any part of the game this can be huge, the difference between a
single or a double, a double or an inside the park Home Run. This aspect is also extremely crucial
when you don t get a very good jump on the ball. Getting a good jump on the ball is very important,
and for the most part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is EXTREMELY important when playing the outfield, hitting the cutoff man or throwing
someone out at a base can be the difference in winning or losing a game, and maybe even ending a
season. When it comes to this, you can have no better advice than from the wise and all knowing Kent
Murphy, teaching all of his faithful followers, the Janitor Throw, in which he says and I firmly believe
will result in an out every time. Another thing he has taught me is to dive for every ball, because then
not only do you look baller but nine times out of ten you ll infuriate your

Flammable Liquids
Arson Detection : The Discovery of Flammable Liquids . In this practice , we analyzed flammable
liquids by the method of gas chromatograph . First of all , we tried to find the retention time of
standard flammable liquids to be able to identify our unknown sample comparing with their retention
times . The standards samples were : charcoal lighter , gasoline , kerosene , light fluid , shellac thinner
, and paint thinner . The retention time is calculated by the formula : We injected 5 (1)L of paint
thinner using the syringe needle into the gas chromatograph and we used the speed of 1cm/min to test
which volume could be used . However , the pick was too high and we changed the volume (2)to 1
L , which was better . With the parameters defined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3 . Why might there still (12)ne accelerant (13)present on materials found at the base of the fire even
though the building was almost entirely burned down ? Because a considerable portion of the fuel
remains (14)unburned and what does burn can leave characteristic burn patterns or diagnostic signs . 4
. How might one determine the physical location of the origin of the fire , so that he might know
where to look for evidence of accelerant ? By the burn/damage patterns found at the origin of the fire
it is possible to have an idea of which accelerant was used . When volatile vapors burn above a
flammable liquid accelerant they leave distinct patterns (15)unlike other combustible products usually
found in a structure . Conclusion Based on the comparison of the retention times of the standard
flammable liquids and the average of the unknown sample , we concluded that kerosene was the
accelerant used . We run this samples five times and each time we had a different peak that did not
match with the standard s peaks . So , we calculated the retention time and we found that the unknown
sample had a retention time of 0.7 (16)min and the kerosene had 0.8 (17)min as the retention time ,
which was the one more close

Satire In Voltaire s Candide Or Optimism
Candide or Optimism
; with its main character Candide constantly roaming around the world carrying questions of good and
evil, and through the lines of the book take place the thoughts of criticism that flow through the river
of philosophy on the terrain of satire, is a short novel of François
Marie Arouet or best known as Voltaire
, first published in 1759. At the beginning of the novel, after a short overview of the main characters;
Baron Thunder ten tronckh, the Baroness, the
Baron s daughter Cun égonde, naïve Candide and Candide s mentor philosopher Pangloss, Voltaire
exiles Candide from his hometown and starts the series of adventures; and confronts Candide with the
world and the others outside the castle of Baron Thunder ten tronckh ... Show more content on

In other words; Voltaire harmonizes philosophy, criticism and encountering with
the other
from the eyes of naïve Candide, the main character that darts himself to the adventures in the name of
love that he feels for Cunégonde and meets with people around the world with his deep curiosity. So,
in this essay; notions of philosophy, optimism and the approach to the other of Voltaire, embodied in
the main character Candide, are going to be the subject of discussion. Firstly, to start with notions of
philosophy and optimism, the character Pangloss is the key point.
Pangloss philosophy of optimism resembles the notions of German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm
Leibniz, as Leibniz stated that
I laid it down that God, having chosen the most perfect of all possible worlds, had been prompted by
his wisdom to permit the evil Büyükçulhacı
2 which was bound up with it, but which still did not prevent this world from being, all things
considered, the best that could be chosen.
(Leibniz, 67), while Pangloss argument differs very slightly, as he stated these:

Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History Essay Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History Hosea, Jeremiah, and the Deuteronomistic History text are complementary because it talks about the relationship of the people of Israel and God, Kingship and religion and the warn them about the punishment that accompanies. Though the message is the same the mode each took to deliver a God message is different. The primary goal of the Deuteronomistic History is the perception of Kingship and religion, the word Deuteronomistic History was first formulated by Martin Noth in 1943. It refers to those historical writings (also known as former prophets), the books consist of Joshua, the judges, Samuel, and kings (Collins 2004:183). Therefore the lord said to Solomon, since this has been your mind and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes that I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you and give it to your servant. The Deuteronomistic History talks about the kingship of David, Saul and Solomon but portrays the monarchy as corrupt, improper and always bringing calamity to the people. Hosea uses his marriage to a prostitute as a means of preaching to the people of Northern Israel. God commanded Hosea to marry a prostitute named Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, his Israel past figured prominently in Hosea s prophecies to Israel. Mercy and judgment are also important themes in Hosea s message. He was a prophet of eventual hope and immediate doom, given the understanding the covenant of blessing and curses as outline in the Tora. His message stems from the covenant violation motif as reflected in the lawsuit YHWH has brought against Israel (Hill and Walton 2009:582 587). God controversy with Israel was rooted in conflicting religious ideologies of Canaanite Baalism and Hebrew Yahwism (Hos. 4:4) (Hill and Walton 2009:589). For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Art Museum Of Fort Worth Texas This influence and style continued at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth Texas. Louis Kahn is a modern architect that designed the Kimbell Art Museum. Kahn emerged from the Beaux Arts movement but became one of the foremost American Modernist architects of the 1950 s and 60 s (Kimball, 1990). Kahn created a building for the Kimbell Art Museum that also complimented the art and did not distract the viewer (Kimball, 1990). He was commissioned to design the Kimbell Art Museum from 1966 1972). Kahn s museums are individual to the point of idiosyncrasy, yet they remain transparent to the works of the art they house (Kimball, 1990). The Yale University Art Gallery, designed by Kahn, has an intimate studio feel as employed at the Museum of Modern Art (Binns, 2004 p. 17). Kahn also utilized similar materials that Goodwin and Stone incorporated. The Yale University Art Gallery is made of large pieces of glass and steel (Binns, 2004, p. 17). Many of the materials used at Kahn s three museums are glass, steel, concrete, and brick (Eliasoph, 2009, p. 317). During the 2005 remodeling, the team attempts at restoring much of Kahn s original design elements at it considers it a very important part of architectural history (Binns, 2004, p. 17). No responses recorded at higher frequencies at the audiometric limit. Speech audiometry showed reduced speech discrimination abilities at high intensities. However, this is consistent with her puretone audiometric results. Tympanometry showed normal tympanometric peak and pressure bilaterally. Absent acoustic reflexes were noted at all test frequencies for both ears. B. Characteristics and limitations of Sue s current hearing aids. One of the first things, perhaps the most important during hearing aids fitting, is to provide appropriate gain for the patient after a thorough hearing assessment. Oticon Intiga RITE (receiver in the ear) is aimed at an immediately comfortable fit and minimal occlusion to thus minimize unnatural sensations. To use an RITE with open fit domes, Sue needs to have good low frequency hearing. Apparently, it cannot provide enough gain Sue needed in the fitting software. It uses smaller (size 10) batteries compared to batteries used by many other miniature hearing aids (size 312 or 13), which could also pose management issues. Intiga 6 s modulation based noise management does not allow channel specific noise reduction, compared to TriState Noise Management. Modulation based noise management assesses the likelihood of rather constant noise in specific frequency regions and tends to be sensitive to the presence of any noise, whether speech is also ... • 6. Applying The Thin Flexible Compression Column For... This report provides a comprehensive design methodology for the thin flexible compression column for implementation into a load bearing garment. The thin flexible compression column exists as part of a larger load bearing system, which has military and civilian applications in load assist and injury prevention. This system was designed to quasi actively assist in the load carriage for a soldier (body armor and rucksack) without sacrificing safety, flexibility, or comfort. The column serves as the connection between shoulder and waist, transferring load in compression. The studies begin with the development of the initial concept, the continuous floating constraint buckling column. This concept consists of a flexible composite column, under axial loading, buckling to higher modes between rigid lateral constraints. The concept is proven by a comprehensive experimental demonstration. A dynamic FEA model of that system is developed and studied. Experimental response proved consistent with FEA results. The model accurately predicts buckling forces, lateral reaction forces, stresses, strains, friction, modal shapes, and deflection. The geometric variables of the continuous floating constraint were optimized using the FEA model, and final tests were carried out. A second more flexible concept is devised using the lessons learned from the continuous floating constraint design and FEA model. The results generated from the FEA model as well as practical considerations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The United States And The Soviet Union Essay Toronto, Canada Since the end of World War Two, the United States and the Soviet Union have experienced a number of political clashes. From the Marshall Plan to the Korean war, to testing nuclear weapons, and to the use of missiles, the United States and the Soviet Union have definitely established a divide between the two empires. The growing dependence of the United States in Europe and Great Britain has increased imperialist speculation from the USSR. However, the United States justifies their presence though the policy of Containment, in its attempt to defend democracy. Also since post World War Two, there has been a massive increase of arms in both the Soviet Union and the United States. From the booming economy of the war and the devastating atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States became a global superpower. The need for efficient nuclear weapons suddenly became an obsession. In 1952, the USSR managed to develop their own Atomic bomb, which threatened the position of the United States. And from there an arms race began. The use of nuclear weapons is an extreme that neither empire wishes to reach, however, the public is not certain. The Red Scare is very prevalent in the United States, especially with allegations of Soviet infiltration in the government from Senator McCarthy. As a result, a fear of espionage has risen. The film shows more of the arc of the protagonists showing them move to their uncle s home where dogs are not allowed. Meanwhile, the Aboriginals nearby are having some sort of ceremony. The way the film is edited at its beginning shows in great detail how well mannered the girls are and how nice the people of the town are while the scenes with the Aboriginals are shown in a way that the audience is not able to understand what the Aboriginals are doing and what the ceremony is for because their scene is shortened when compared to the scenes with the white people. Furthermore, the editing in the scenes leading up to and including the murder of the Chief s son clearly portrays the Aboriginals as the villains. One of the battle scenes, when the Aboriginals are surrounding the house the shot is taken from afar. It shows the Aboriginals are killing all these white people but whatever is happening in the areas of the shot that are black is open to speculation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Porn and Censorship Pornography and Censorship Should the government be allowed to legitimately prohibit citizens from publishing or viewing pornography, or would this be an unjustified violation of basic freedoms? Traditionally, liberals defended the freedom of consenting adults to publish and consume pornography in private from moral and religious conservatives who wanted pornography banned for its obscenity, its corrupting impact on consumers and its corrosive effect on traditional family and religious values. But, in more recent times, the pornography debate has taken on a somewhat new and surprising shape. Some sexually explicit material involves or depicts children. Some portrays bestiality and necrophilia; and so on. On the first definition of pornography as sexually explicit material, all such material would count as pornography, insofar as it is sexually explicit. But this simple definition is not quite right. Anatomy textbooks for medical students are sexually explicit they depict exposed genitalia, for example but are rarely, if ever, viewed as pornography. Sexual explicitness may be a necessary condition for material to count as pornographic, but it does not seem to be sufficient. So something needs to be added to the simple definition. What else might be required? Here is a second definition. Pornography is sexually explicit material (verbal or pictorial) that is primarily designed to produce sexual arousal in viewers. This definition is better: it deals with the problem of anatomy textbooks and the like. Indeed, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In case of an unforeseen event, which can bring our production to a halt our company needs to recover as rapidly as possible to continue its services to its clients. Not having a disaster recovery plan in place can put the company at risk of high financial costs, reputation loss and even greater risks to our employees. Women take lying very seriously and when they find out they have been lied to, it causes a lot of disappointment. When women first find out that their husbands have been using pornography they begin to feel that is their fault. They start to put themselves down and think that they are sexually undesirable, worthless, weak, and stupid (Bergner 194). For many women this could mean a big time emotional break down. If this cause is also contingent, then it too must also have a cause. This chain of causes and effects must have a beginning a necessary cause. This necessary cause must be God. Like most of Kant s topics of discussion, it is difficult to fully grasp the entirety of what is being said. However, unlike most other cases, this time I don t think it s entirely his fault. In fact, his refutation to this deceivingly simple argument is (perhaps deceivingly) actually quite simple. Existence cannot be a predicate. In the sentence Thomas is the teacher , the word is is not the predicate, but it is the word that implies existence. Therefore, the sentence God is does not contain a predicate. A predicate is a word that ads a quality to the concept of the thing it is applied to existence is not a quality. While the technical requirements of such an endeavor can be aided through direct musical instruction, in earlier stages of musical growth the emotional demands require guidance by a teacher and self exploration from the participant. Once success in this area becomes apparent, musical benefits emerge and the journey the individual undertook also helps shape their emotional intelligence. By answering the question of how music education affects an individual s emotional knowledge of music and themselves, it will become possible to see the benefits of teaching music students with an emphasize on emotional learning. The first task requires the establishing of a relationship between music education and emotional intelligence, then different pedagogical techniques can be explored and gauged for their success in producing the desired effects, all which will help draw the connections between both ideas. Here are the parameters that will be used to guide the following discussion. The term music education is the teaching and learning of music (Colwell). The term emotional intelligence , also know as EI or EQ, was introduced by Daniel Goleman and colleagues and is defined as a person s ability to recognize emotions, make a choice as to what emotions are appropriate for given circumstances, and then be able to effectively communicate those emotions (Wood 168). It is a personality disposition that can be characterized by a striving for flawlessness and setting exceedingly high standards for oneself. These standards can pertain to performances that are subsequently accompanied by self critical evaluations and the perception that others expect one to be perfect (Stoeber, 2016; Stoeber, Edbrooke Childs, Damian, 2016). Selfishness will most often result in someone being hurt; however The Grapes of Wrath shows how others selfishness can hurt those in need, while Raging Bull shows how the selfishness of a human could result in his despair. The Grapes of Wrath shows the reader how being self centered blinds you to the struggles that others face and could lead them to ultimate failure. The novel follows the journey of the Tom Joad and his family for the majority of the story. As they travel south in the hope of a better life they experience obstacles that appear to stop them from achieving their goal. In The Grapes of Wrath the futility of the family s success is brought on by others fighting against them; not economic and environmental issues like the reader would rightly assume. They consistently face selfish beings that are trying to get themselves ahead without thinking of the effect it could have on the poor family. All throughout the novel Steinbeck is showing the reader how humans incessantly steal from each other in order to get ahead. • 42. Banning Books Essay Name Professor Course Date The practice of censorship and banning of books in learning institution has been prevalent mostly due to the explicit content incorporated in them. However, banning of certain books in pretense to conceal content perceived inappropriate to impressionable children is an infringement of their right to access information of their area of choice. While banning some book at times has valid reasons, it is important to endorse and emphasize that every child has the liberty to select, at their discretion, which book to read. While it is agreeable that parents and teachers should play a noble role in regulating books that entail controversial topics as well as educating their children as their primary guardian, their right does not extend to controlling and monitoring what children read ... Banning and censoring reading materials is capable of limiting the technological innovations, research as well as creativity. It is hence the responsibility of the democracy to avail a diversity of views whether popular or unpopular and else should not coerce the opinions and ideas of some while inhibiting the exertions of others (Memphis, 1). Rather than banning books content, publishers should rather give complete connotation to the liberty of reading by providing books capable of enriching the diversity as well as the quality of knowledge. Reading liberation is of diminutive consequence not unless the reader obtains materials suiting their purposes. Books should hence not be banned due to diverse peoples conflicting views either since one is not entitled to agree with what he reads but should rather learn from it. For instance, history aids students in knowing the events that transpired to shape the world as it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I learned that the virus is waiting for something to go wrong so they can harm you. I also learned that KSHV was discovered because of the AIDS epidemic, but I didn t know that Kaposi Sarcoma was around longer than that. I learned that in 1872, Mortiz Kaposi described the cancer in Europe as blotches on the skin, which targeted older men because they are immunosuppressed. I learned that this is because, as you age your immune system goes down. I learned that in the 80 s there was no diagnosis of HIV so if someone show up with Kaposi Sarcoma, the doctors would use this as a sign that they have HIV. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cultural Similarities Between India And India Cultural Similarities and Differences between China and India Introduction There is a great deal more in like manner between the two nations socially, than say, between a Chinese (or Indian) and an American or European. I asked my supervisor if we could do reminders calls the day before, but she told me that NSC wants them to be independent and reminding them the day before will make them dependent on NSC. I honestly just want them to make their appointments or call NSC ahead of time if they are not going to make it because some of their appointments are schedule months in advance and it is hard to get. That s at least 15 million acres more than were grown in 2013. (Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, the science of GMOs)It is important to research my topic because by not knowing or being informed, we are in danger of losing a sound body or mind. Not labeling genetically modified organisms can also cause multiple health issues, by not labeling them people are at risk because genetically modified organisms can cause allergies and later lead to sever defects and even death. This paper is not to debate the safety of genetically modified organisms, rather to raise awareness about the social injustice of not labeling genetically modified organisms. Though there is substantial evidence that rules in favor of the safety of Genetically Modified Organisms, there is also a considerable amount of evidence that can prove that Genetically Modified Organisms are not safe. Only 37 percent of the American public believes that GM foods are safe to eat, while 88 percent of scientists believe they are safe , according to a survey conducted in 2014 by the Pew Research Center. However the two are completely different social injustices. If Genetically Modified Organisms are truly safe, why are they not labeled? Monsanto spends millions of dollars to change the genetic material of natural seeds, into genetically modified seeds and sells them to farmers to make their crops. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Being An Outfield Essay Playing outfield has always been said as the spot they put the losers or ones who aren t good enough to play infield, however this could not be any more untrue. Being able to play outfield, and being able to be an effective and good outfielder are two completely different things. Anyone can go out there and pick their nose or just stand around and be completely lost until everyone start yelling and telling you to get the ball, well after it leaves the bat. Today I m going to tell you the major things you need to know to not only be a good outfielder but also be able to rake at the plate. The difference between being a good and great outfielder can be some very simple, and can make a big difference in a game. Something very simple that can make a huge difference, is being ready and paying attention at all times. Playing outfield it can be very boring out there, especially when you have a very good pitcher, like Jacob and Aaron. One of the next things that is a significant game changer, is taking a good angle to the ball. In any part of the game this can be huge, the difference between a single or a double, a double or an inside the park Home Run. This aspect is also extremely crucial when you don t get a very good jump on the ball. Getting a good jump on the ball is very important, and for the most part ... First of all , we tried to find the retention time of standard flammable liquids to be able to identify our unknown sample comparing with their retention times . The standards samples were : charcoal lighter , gasoline , kerosene , light fluid , shellac thinner , and paint thinner . The retention time is calculated by the formula : We injected 5 (1)L of paint thinner using the syringe needle into the gas chromatograph and we used the speed of 1cm/min to test which volume could be used . However , the pick was too high and we changed the volume (2)to 1 L , which was better . With the parameters defined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 . Why might there still (12)ne accelerant (13)present on materials found at the base of the fire even though the building was almost entirely burned down ? Because a considerable portion of the fuel remains (14)unburned and what does burn can leave characteristic burn patterns or diagnostic signs . 4 . How might one determine the physical location of the origin of the fire , so that he might know where to look for evidence of accelerant ? By the burn/damage patterns found at the origin of the fire it is possible to have an idea of which accelerant was used . When volatile vapors burn above a flammable liquid accelerant they leave distinct patterns (15)unlike other combustible products usually found in a structure . Conclusion Based on the comparison of the retention times of the standard flammable liquids and the average of the unknown sample , we concluded that kerosene was the accelerant used . We run this samples five times and each time we had a different peak that did not match with the standard s peaks . So , we calculated the retention time and we found that the unknown sample had a retention time of 0.7 (16)min and the kerosene had 0.8 (17)min as the retention time , which was the one more close ... Satire In Voltaire s Candide Or Optimism Candide or Optimism ; with its main character Candide constantly roaming around the world carrying questions of good and evil, and through the lines of the book take place the thoughts of criticism that flow through the river of philosophy on the terrain of satire, is a short novel of François Marie Arouet or best known as Voltaire , first published in 1759. At the beginning of the novel, after a short overview of the main characters; Baron Thunder ten tronckh, the Baroness, the Baron s daughter Cun égonde, naïve Candide and Candide s mentor philosopher Pangloss, Voltaire exiles Candide from his hometown and starts the series of adventures; and confronts Candide with the world and the others outside the castle of Baron Thunder ten tronckh ... In other words; Voltaire harmonizes philosophy, criticism and encountering with the other from the eyes of naïve Candide, the main character that darts himself to the adventures in the name of love that he feels for Cunégonde and meets with people around the world with his deep curiosity. So, in this essay; notions of philosophy, optimism and the approach to the other of Voltaire, embodied in the main character Candide, are going to be the subject of discussion. Firstly, to start with notions of philosophy and optimism, the character Pangloss is the key point. Pangloss philosophy of optimism resembles the notions of German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, as Leibniz stated that I laid it down that God, having chosen the most perfect of all possible worlds, had been prompted by his wisdom to permit the evil Büyükçulhacı 2 which was bound up with it, but which still did not prevent this world from being, all things considered, the best that could be chosen.
