Black History Month Rhetorical Analysis
America is a culture that enjoys having some time away from the reality of political issues within
society. Comedic entertainment has found ways to also inform its audience about important political
statements that is used to refer to any act or nonverbal form of communication that is intended to
influence a decision to be made for or by a political party ( Wikipedia), or ideas through a comedic
point of view. Comical news is what brings our attention with ease because listening to straight
political debates can lead a person to not want to sit and become informed on latest political topics.
The culture that society has developed into became accustomed to finding it better to have a laugh
about serious news because through humor an audience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Samantha Bee s audience can see that she is more invested to getting to the bottom of her stories and
representing what other host may not meet up to standards with. Trevor Noah is criticized as not being
funny while presenting political stories. He comes off as crude and unnatural at comedy and politics.
Bee has invested her time to going out and researching the hot topics that she believes her audience
should be aware of. In the episode titled Black History Month she allows one of her writers, Ashley
Black, to unveil her comments and judgements concerning stereotypes of Black History Month.
Ashley Black is given the center stage to state her concerns about how white people ruined Black

to hear opinions on political matters. Ashley Black can be viewed as a hero because of the way she
brings up the subject that most are unsure to talk about. In the article Heroes and Villains implies a
mode of perspective that comes with grand presumptions that we all know all the truth about
everything... because we re Americans; we re arrogant and entitled (Wilke 486). By calling Americans
arrogant and entitled can show how some Americans can take political matters into their own hands

Good Time By Adam Young Ft. Carly Rae Jepsen
The social group I have chosen to observe is my family. My family is larger than the average
American family with fourteen people currently living in the same home, and an average American
family being made up of 3.14 people (argis.com). With so many people living under one roof this
group is generally loud and can sometimes be overwhelming for an outsider. This group loves to have
fun and wherever we go we know how to entertain ourselves and have an enjoyable time, in fact, we
consider our theme song Good time by Adam Young ft. Carly Rae Jepsen. This group values quality

Extrinsic versus Intrinsic Motivation
Extrinsic motivation involves external incentives such as rewards and punishers. When we are
extrinsically motivated we engage in a behavior for an external payoff or to avoid an external
punishment. Intrinsic motivation is based on internal factors such as organismic needs as well as
curiosity, challenge, and fun. When we are intrinsically motivated, we engage in a behavior because
we enjoy it (King, 2014, p. 338). I observed both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the same
situation. With so many people living in the house we must take turns cooking dinner and in this
instance, it was my brother and sisters turn to cook. My sister loves cooking, she was experiencing
intrinsic motivation. Whereas my brother does not enjoy this task, but my brother knows that he will
not get to go out with his friends if he does not help with dinner. My brother was extrinsically
motivated in this situation.
Episodic Memory
Episodic memory is the retention of information about the where, when, and what of life s happenings
(King, 2014, p. 228). I observed episodic memory, multiple times during my observations. One
example of this was when we were all at the dinner table and someone was

The 1952 And 1986 Adaptation Of Oscar Wilde s Play
Is your reaction to the reenacted scenes different than to the written one? My reaction to the 2001 film
is not much different from how I read the play myself. That is until I reached the end of the film.
Things became seemingly different from what I would have expected. The 1952 and 1986
interpretations of Oscar Wilde s play were more elegant than the 2001 film. My reaction to this
version was much different from my initial perspective. This interpretation of the play seems to be
presented in a more serious and dramatic manner. In what ways did both interpretations change the
original? Was it a change for the better or worse in your opinion? The 2001 interpretation of Oscar
Wilde s play seemed to be portrayed similarly to how I originally perceived. However, there are a few
comedic scenes added for the enjoyment of the audience. The film portrays Miss Prism running away
and fainting due to a shock of grief endured so unexpectedly. The scene makes for an exaggerated yet
amusing scene. In my opinion, this scene made the interpretation better. In fact, her running away
build excitement and curiosity up. I also enjoyed the scene of John and Algernon serenading the girls,
in hopes that they would come down and forgive the two of them. This light hearted scene helped
make their dilemma more enjoyable and less upsetting. The 1952 and 1986 version of The Importance
of Being Earnest were not as funny as the other interpretation. The scene of Lady Augusta on her way

Argumentative Essay Smoking
The numbers of people who smoke have increased over the years. Although they are equipped with
the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice
and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is
not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to
smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people
around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke travels everywhere through
the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking
should be banned in all public places.
People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing
stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and
wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be. Besides
that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as well. There is a
saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the actions of others as
they see it in their daily lives. Teenagers happen to think that smoking makes a person cool . When
they see adults doing it on the streets, it strengthens their belief in the coolness of smoking. Some
teenagers think that smoking marks their transition

Entangled Alliances Ww1
World War I is probably the greatest mistake the world has ever made in history, costing the lives of
millions of people. It all started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria
Hungary when he was visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the city of Sarajevo. Franz and his wife,
Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were riding around Sarajevo in their car when a bomb was thrown at
the vehicle. The driver accelerated when he saw the flying object, and the bomb exploded underneath
the wheel of the next car, injuring two of its occupants along with a dozen spectators. On the route
back to the palace, the archduke s driver took a wrong turn into a side street, where nationalist Gavrilo
Princip of Serbia was waiting. As the car backed up, Princip approached and fired his gun, striking

Gladrioters And Roman Gladiators
Response Paper #3 Gladiators vs. Charioteers Roman charioteers and Roman gladiators were at the
pinnacle of the entertainment industry during ancient Roman times. They both had large followings,
were keys to political power, and were the reasons for architectural masterpieces. Charioteers and
gladiators, however, were quite different in many ways. They had differences in backgrounds, in risks
of their profession, in their professional careers, and in the various things they can stand for and
represent. Gladiators and Charioteers in Ancient Rome are brought up and trained in different ways.
The gladiators, for example, could either be prisoners of war, criminals, or free men . However, The
taint of becoming a gladiator essentially took away one s free status, even from those who entered the
profession voluntarily. One could say that all gladiators were slaves (Futrell 125). Being as everyone
is essentially a slave, free men becoming gladiators would have to sign an agreement giving away
their rights to choose. This wasn t something that you would see happen in the realm of chariot racing.
Although, both were still considered infamis essentially meaning they did not enjoy the rights of
citizens. The background in training was also quite different for these two. A gladiator would go to a
ludi ran by lunista who were in charge of acquisition and training of the gladiators. They would then
be assigned a doctor to go with the style they are to be trained in. This is different from the way
charioteers were brought up. Often time they would be trained from adolescents specifically for
chariot racing. These riders as well as their horses would be controlled by four different factions who
were responsible for the training, negotiating, and maintenance of the individual riders. The large
difference here coming in the early up bringing of the charioteers as well as the factions versus the
ludi. The risk in these two professions also varied greatly. Both involved a lot of risk, but it came in
different ways. For a gladiator everytime they suited up for the arena they had someone coming after
them with the soul purpose of inflicting pain or killing them whereas a charioteer risked death, but
many times due to just

Marketing Pl Blue Note Cafe s Need For Increased Sales
The focus of this marketing plan is Blue Note Café s need for increased sales. The owner Mr. Sammy
Winder, contacted me as his marketing consultant to resolve his issue of decreased sales at his
restaurant/bar/ jazz club. Mr. Winder expressed that he have the best local musicians, and have
competitive prices for awesome drinks and food. When he first opened sales were at a high, however
as of late, the sales have declined by approximately half. This has become an alarming situation as the
result could be detrimental to Blue Note Café s existing. In addition to their decline in sales they are
working with a limited marketing budget. Every dollar has to be used strategically for the betterment
of the business. It is great to know that Mr. Winder has done some leg work to retrieve data from
previous customers in the form of surveys. His consistent feedback was that there were no real issues,
people loved the atmosphere and the food. Mr. Winder has hired me to prepare a guerilla marketing
plan proposal that will yield the expectations of raised brand awareness, and increased value leading
to increased sales. First, I would propose becoming active in social media. Currently there are no fees
for using Facebook and Instagram. Using these forums can raise awareness, give information on
promotions, and allow for interaction with past and possible customers. As a business using this forum

The Crossover Quotes
Have you ever felt left out or pushed away from others? In the novel, The Crossover, by Kwame
Alexander. I chose to write about the main character Josh Bell. Josh Bell is a caring, immature and
athletic teen who, through a series of trials comes of age. Josh Bell is caring because in the book it
says, Tell him a joke. He doesn t even smile...Do his chores. He pays no attention...Say I m sorry but
he won t listen (145), this quote shows he is very sorry that he hurt his brother and made him go to the
hospital. In the book it also says, Well, I will talk to her about this job thing, since it means so much to
you. (167), this piece of evidence shows that Josh cares about his father and is even willing to talk to
his mom to convince her to let him take the job. These two quotes show how Josh is a caring teenager.
Josh Bell is also very immature because in the book it says, Today, I plan on passing the ball to JB, but
when I hear him say Filthy, give me the ball, I dribble over to my brother and fire a pass so hard, it
levels him (134), this quote shows that he acted immaturely and without thinking or caring about what
would happen to his brother. In the book it also says, Me and dad stare at each other for ten minutes
without saying a word. I tell him, I have nothing to say. (208), this evidence shows ... Show more

I know this because in the book it says, The only thing that really matters is that out here in the
driveway shooting free throws I feel closer to dad. (235), this quote shows that after his dad has

JB says. And for the first time in my life I don t want to be. (225), this evidence from the book suggest
that he would rather have his dad back in his life then be the man of the family. These two pieces of
evidence show how very mature he transforms into being at the end of the

Internet Law And The Economy Essay
Internet Law and the Economy Introduction
This week s article review is taken from Ubiquity, an ACM IT Magazine and forum. The article is The
New Economy: Are Rules Irrelevant? by Daniel W. Uhlfelder, Esq. In this article it is discussed how
the new economy of the Internet move forward and enact laws that would be beneficial to all parties
involved. This will be hard if not impossible because the Internet can cross boundaries where laws
could not cross. The each country and each region uphold and maintain laws and regulations specific
for their purposes. Therefore, jurisdiction is a key issue in order to determine what laws, regulations,
taxation or other concerns apply. As crimes are committed our society and economy pays the ... Show

It is now important to know the different laws and develop new laws by which these new relationships
interact. The key is to understand the different laws and how they are used, where and how should
they be enforced and how to protect our interests and the interest of others and how we can use and
develop laws to the best advantage of society. According to Daniel W. Uhlefelder
Security, Internet taxation, electronic signatures, privacy, copyright, minority, small business
development, and contract formation in cyberspace: These are just a few of the important legal issues
members of the new economy are going to face. (Uhlfelder, 2000)
Laws relating to our worldwide commerce are going to be needed to avoid ciaos in our economic
society. If we cannot keep up with these changes, then there may be ill effects to our society and
economy. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Robert Pitofsky reminds us that when enacting laws
we must remember:
Protect the marketplace, and don t undermine the incentives for innovation. And that is what this is
about. The incentives for innovation seem to be very important in this area. On the other hand, you
don t want people taking advantage of the fact that claming that ‘Well, We re high tech. The antitrust
laws don t apply to us. That is not an acceptable defense. (Uhlfelder, 2000)
Predators exist everywhere and the internet is no exception. There are always people who take

An Analysis of the Model Minority Stereotype
INTRODUCTION
According to the 2010 United States Census, those that identify as Asian numbered more than 14
million people, approximately 4.8% of the entire United States population (SOURCE). Despite or
perhaps due to being a relatively small population, Asian Americans are not exempt from stereotyping.
While a stereotype does not technically have positive or negative connotations and is simply a widely
held generalization of a particular group of people, they are often derogatory and convey negative
impressions and attitudes. Many minority groups are portrayed in a negative and demeaning light:

HISTORY OF ASIAN STEREOTYPES AND PERPETUATION The model minority stereotype is
actually a relatively contemporary model, a strong contrast to some of the original portrayal of Asians.
During the 1800s, Asians, particularly Chinese, were portrayed to be alien and insidious, these
stereotypes strengthened by to fear of economic competition. However, the trait of being hard working
was present as far back as building of the transcontinental railroad. By World War II, these stereotypes
did not vanish and were only reinforced due to Japanese involvement in the war, particularly those of
being alien and other negative attributes. The term model minority was first coined by sociologist
William Peterson in 1966 as praise for the achievements of Japanese Americans. Using that term, he
proposed for other minorities to follow their example. (The model minority : Bane or blessing for
Asian Americans? 38) Since the coining of the term, popular press and media have propagated this
stereotype (asians as stereotypes 109). In the recent years, television series portray Asian Americans as
holding high status positions or as nerds (beyond minority model 23) The model minority stereotype is
still strong in current American culture, even after more than 50 years since the coining of the term.
Qin Zhang conducted a study that tested for perception of different races and racial stereotyping.

Nazi Germany And The Nazi Party Essay
Propaganda was significant in Germany in the period of 1933 to 1945 as it affected the people of
Germany greatly since propaganda was presented to people in their everyday lives in some manner or
form, making it inescapable. Propaganda was used mainly to display anti Semitic beliefs about Jews
and others who were thought of as irrelevant to Nazi Germany such as the disabled, mentally ill,
gypsies, communists and non Aryans who were all affected greatly by propaganda. Hitler and the Nazi
Party achieved this through their propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels who used every form of media
(radio, posters, newspapers, films, music and the arts) to portray the greatness of German culture.
Though, some of these forms of propaganda displayed different levels of effectiveness making some
forms more significant than others.
One of the most significant forms of propaganda in their impact on Germany was the use of radio.
Radios and radio licences summed to 90% of the ministry s expenses, which show how Hitler s
messages, speeches and Nazi related broadcasts reached such a broad audience of the German
population because radio was extremely accessible. Hitler made sure that radios were cheap enough
for every family to afford so that his speeches were publicised, giving Hitler more opportunity to
manipulate Germany and glorify the Nazi party. The significance of this form of propaganda is that
the radio was such a regular part of family life, and would ve been played frequently

How Did Culture Influence Ancient Greek Culture
All cultures are built off of some type of belief. This belief influences daily life in the culture. It sets
common rules and guide lines in which the people should act. The belief also influences activities and
architecture. This is true for the Ancient Greek culture. Their culture relied on their Gods. This is also
known as Greek Mythology. Greek mythology had a huge influence on the Ancient Greek culture.
The daily life in Ancient Greece was based around worshiping the Gods. The Greeks would look to
the Gods to explain everything that would happen. For example, they would blame the Gods for
natural disasters. Also, Greece was separated into city states. These city states each claimed a god or
goddess to follow. Each city state would build temples to worship their God or Goddess. The city

The temples in ancient Greece were the biggest and most beautiful structures. At the temples they
would give thanks to the Gods. Greek architecture represents order and harmony. The Greek Gods and
Goddesses also represented order and harmony. For example, the Greek Goddess of wisdom, Athena,
had a temple built in her honor. This temple is known as the Parthenon. The Greeks built the temple to
replace the old one that was destroyed by the Persians. The new temple was built to thank Athena for
the cities success. In these temples the Greeks would build huge sculptures of the God or Goddess in
their human form. The sculptures would also depict important stories of the Gods or Goddess. The
Greeks also started writing poems about the Gods and Goddesses. This is another way the Greeks
shared the stories of the Gods. The Ancient Greeks also made pottery. On the pottery they painted
murals of scenes. These scenes depict life in Greece; they also show scenes of the Gods and
Goddesses. The pottery is the best way historians have to look into the Ancient Greece

Crime in Central America, especially in the Northern Triangle of Honduras, El Salvador, and
Guatemala are reaching stunning levels. Murder rates in the district are among the highest in the

issue through its amounts of drug smuggling, weak gun control laws, and deportation policies that

Laws of Supply and Demand
Microeconomics and the Laws of Supply and DemandECO/365October 13, 2014Professor
CoulibalyComedian P.J. O Rourke said it best when he said, microeconomics concerns things that
economists are specifically wrong about, while macroeconomics concerns things economists are
wrong about generally. Or to be more technical, microeconomics is about money you don t have, and
macroeconomics is about money the government is out of (Beggs, 2014). On a serious note however,
macroeconomics and microeconomics are different from each other yet both play a crucial role.

Their immediate response was to lower the rent and in doing so they raised the demand rate because it
added to consumers desire to move into apartments with lower rental costs. As the demand for the
lower rental costs rises, the vacancy rate or the supply decreased.
As the number of available apartments increases, the supply curve shifts right. As the rental rate
increases, the supply also increases. By leasing all 2,500 apartments, the rental rate will be pushed to
$1,500. The demand curve begins to shift down as the rental rate and supply of apartments increase. If
Goodlife increases their rental rate to the $1,500, the demand for the apartments will decrease. To
reach the equilibrium Goodlife must decrease the rental rate to $1,050 and in so doing the number of
demanded units and the number of supplied units will be equal.
In applying this to my workplace, supply and demand is based on the number of students brought into
the system every other week. Most times we expect to get six to eight new students every fourteen
days. If that number goes up we have to order more goods to take care of the increase. On the other
hand if that number decreases we have to order fewer goods. Also, with fewer students we need fewer
staff to take care of those students.
In microeconomics, the market supply and demand rely on competitors and prices. Market equilibrium
is one of the most important concepts in the study of economics. Market equilibrium is a market state

Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes is about Charlie Gordon, a mentally disabled 37 year old that is
offered a one in a lifetime chance of being intelligent by having an operation. Although the operation
works and he becomes very intelligent, he slowly loses his intelligence later on. Although Charlie has
lost his I.Q which is his intelligence, he has still kept his E.Q which is his emotional intelligence.
Charlie also has the involvement of going through all of that which transforms him as a person and he
does not let anyone take advantage of him anymore. This shows that Charlie is still better off after the
operation than before.
To begin, Charlie is still better off after the surgery because he now has E.Q, or emotional intelligence
unlike he did before he got the operation. Before the operation, Charlie did not understand the
emotions of people. For instance, the entry on April 15 (Keyes 291) tells us that when Charlie and Ms.
Kinnian were talking, Ms. Kinnian got something in her eye and had to go into the ladies room, but
we knew that she was actually crying, an example of dramatic irony. This displays that before the
operation, Charlie does not know the emotional standpoint of people, but after the operation Charlie
does. To demonstrate, after Charlie had the operation but lost his intelligence, Charlie went into Ms.
Kinnians class acting like he used to before the operation. Then, he said, She startid to cry

Persuasive Essay On Food Deserts
Tony Robbins once said that It s not resources but resourcefulness that ultimately makes the
difference. That one quote summarizes the difference between wanting a change and actually working
for a change. You simply have to use the resources around you to make an effort in your life and make
things work.
Someone in Roswell and someone in Atlanta does not eat the same thing for their meals. As a matter
of fact, here, candy, chips, chocolate, and cookies are just a few of the things that our generation calls
breakfast instead of snacks . Even if they are having a snack, people here would probably choose
chocolate instead of fruit. Why? Because there are food deserts EVERYWHERE in America.

Food deserts are often the effects of a lack of grocery stores, farmers markets, and healthy food
providers. The metro area that we call home is fun filled and surrounded with food deserts. Food
deserts impart our lives in a numerous amount of ways; in some cases, they put our community in life
or death situations. They play a part of our obesity level and why there are most obese people here in
America than anywhere else.
Location plays an important in why we live in food deserts. Metro Atlanta is in the middle of Georgia,
which hinders our chances of receiving fresh fruits and vegetables. In order to receive the proper and
nutritious foods, many of us that live in the metro Atlanta area literally has to travel at least 10 miles
outside the city to even get to them, let alone buy them. Cities surrounding Atlanta have to travel to
Atlanta to go to a decent grocery store. However, sometimes Atlanta cannot meet their needs.
On the bright side, there are many programs in Atlanta responsible for decreasing food deserts in the
metropolitan area. The mobile market is the only one that I am aware of. The mobile market is a
market that brings fresh fruits and vegetables to communities, promotes good health, and provide
information and resources to food deserts.
Although food deserts have both major and deadly impacts on people s lives, the solutions to ending
them, and the people needed to execute the solutions are quite simple. Because attracting grocery

The Second Golden Era Of The Film Industry
The second golden era of the film industry, new hollywood, came about from 1969 through 1980. As
the 1960 s started off positive and hopeful, there was now many Americans left devastated from the
depressing events that occurred after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, such as the Vietnam War.
There was also a conflict in the movie scene because Hollywood directors were torn between the old

hollywood era was created. Although the old styles of filming still existed, new directors did not

in creating this zombie horror genre. Romero used suspenseful background music when the zombies

flaws and his stubbornness leads him to doing something he would not normally do. His
unextinguishable passion to find Susie s murderer leads him to coincidently believe that Mr.Harvey is
Susie s killer. However Mr.Harvey is the murderer of Susie, the evidence shown to Jack and the police
show no evidence that Mr.Harvey committed the murder, which further proves that Jack is chasing a
blank slate. Jack needs a scapegoat for his grief and chooses to find revenge in unproven subjects. A
father s suspicion she began. Is as powerful as a mother s intuition (87) says Jack. Once again Jack is
trying to find a reason to make his illogical suspicion logical. Jack refuses to believe that Susie s death

perpetual grief will go on as long he finds things to place guilt on. Furthermore Sebold shows that rage
and denial can be used to deal with the death of a loved one. To follow, one can choose to resort to
another lover or to isolate themselves from their family. Susie s mother, Abigail may have been the
one who took Susie s death with greatest impact.

Reflective Essay On I Am Malala
While many American teenagers complain about their wish for the never ending school days to end,
children around the world are fighting for their right to attend school. Malala, a Pakistani girl, fought
for not only her education but the education of all Pakistani girls. Malala once knew her country as a

as restricting young girls from attending school. As a way of campaigning, the Taliban s bombed a
variety of girl schools and killed everyone who disobeyed them. With parents who taught Malala to
stand up for what she believes, she began to take the steps, such as continuing to go to school and
speak against the Taliban s ideas, to demonstrate her want to continue to receive an education.
However, the Taliban s realized Malala s tactics and soon came after her. Being known as a survivor,
Malala could inform many people of her strong hopes to raise voice on behalf of the millions of girls
who have been denied the right to receive an education, through her inspirational tone, in her book I

abolish the rights of young schoolgirls. However, she did not let anyone interfere with her right to

How Did The Use Of Constantinople Lead To The Decline Of...
In the previous 200 years leading to the demise of Constantinople in 1453, the economy of the
Byzantine Empire had begun to decline and would never recover. Recognizing the situation in 1369,
Emperor John V fruitlessly pursued economic aid from other Western civilizations. As the economic
situation of Constantinople continued to decline they became a vassal state (much like a colony) to the
Turks. As a result, they were required to pay taxes and tribute to the Ottoman Empire. They were also
required to provide military support to the Ottoman Empire. After many years of being a vassal state
to the Ottoman Empire Murad II, the empire s new leader, decided in 1421 that he would conquer the
Byzantine Empire. Murad decided to take away all rights given to the people of Constantinople and

This is because after the other Christian civilizations in Europe refused to help protect Constantinople
from the Islamic Ottomans , they soon began to fear invasions from the even more powerful Turks.
This fear is shown when immediately after the Ottomans took over Pope Nicholas V attempted to lead
a Crusade to take back the city but no European monarch was willing to supply men. This lead to The
Ottomans taking advantage and attacking Venice twice. Another way the invasion of Constantinople
has changed history is that once conquered it was seen as a sign from God because of all of the other
Islamic civilizations that attempted to conquer Constantinople and failed. This lead to the decision that
Constantinople would be renamed Istanbul and become the capital of the Ottoman Empire (modern

many Islamic nations contain the crescent moon on their flags. These are some ways that the fall of

Corporate Finance Programs
Corporate Finance Programs
Introduction
In a company s operational activities, it is essential induce financial management in its organizational
structure. All business operations center on the use of finances to incur profits that benefit the
company employees, shareholders and their nation s economic society. This context digs into the
conduction of both managerial and corporate finance. The executive finance deals with managerial
implication on financial techniques used alongside pecuniary decisions made by the company besides
other financial tools and analytical procedures through corporate finance. Among the techniques used
are corporate valuation, value based management, corporate governance and EPOS (Employees Stock
Ownership) plans.
Corporate Valuation
This is the evaluation of firm value strategies by forecasting on past financial statements; presenting
values of cash flow stream strategies and choosing value maxima based on the appropriate strategic
plan. A firm s stock is valued through different methods such as through the discounted dividend
model.
Corporate valuation is channeled alongside the corporate valuation model. It is a substitute to stock
valuation. The model points out company s main operational and non operational assets as well as the
total worth of firm value and growth (Ehrhardt and Brigham, 2008, pg 659). It is usually an alternative
to discounted dividend models in determining firm value of companies with no history in dividend and

Violence During The Trojan War
The Trojan War is one of the most important events in Greek Mythology. The Trojan War had so much
violence throughout, that there were three types of violence. Physical violence is the fighting part of
the war. Verbal violence is when the Greeks and Trojans would hurt each other with words not
weapons. Sexual violence was the raping of any women who were from Troy or the Greeks. In this
analysis, you will learn the three types of violence in the Trojan War.
Physical violence was the main type of violence that occurred throughout the grueling Trojan War. In
Mythology it says, For nine years victory wavered, now to this side, now to that. Neither was ever
able to gain any decided advantage. Each and every day, for nine years there was a bloody, gory battle
that took place. A lot of the noblest fighters in Greek Mythology died in this war such as; Achilles,

Essay On Fourier Analysis
In numerical analysis, explicit and implicit approaches are used to obtain numerical approximations of
time dependent ordinary and partial differential equations. Fractional order differential equations are
used widely for finance market analysis. Implicit solution methods require more computational efforts
and are complex to program. In order to overcome these difficulties, explicit method for fractional
order differential equation has been introduced which is one of the most recently developed areas in
the world of finance. The main aim of this paper is to investigate stability of Fractional Explicit

Lord Fogarty Essay
The first poem I will be discussing is Fellow Being by Lionel Fogarty. Sound techniques such as
consonance are used in this poem to invite the reader to understand how Australia can function as an
unwelcoming home to the Indigenous Australians. Fogarty writes in the poem that The kissing of
winds to trees are the love between aborigines . Through the repetition of the soft drawn out s sound in
the words kissing and trees , the quality of the sound portrays a sense of love and safety. Furthermore,
the word kissing , with its connotations of affection and love, and trees with its inferences of freedom
and life emphasises the connection indigenous Australians had with the old Australia. The reminiscent
style of the poem reveals the inhospitable nature of modern Australia towards Aborigines.
Fogarty also uses image techniques such as metaphors to describe the interdependent nature of the
relationship the indigenous Australians had with the land. By emphasizing this important relationship,
Fogarty reveals the fractured bond that the white Australians forced upon the Aborigines. The phrase

The Brain s Guide to Survival
The medical field is an innovative world of experimentation and discoveries. As new discoveries
continue to happen, new solutions are created for existing problem. However, there are many
situations where there is no known solution. When something like this occurs, scientists work to use
hypotheses, evidence, and science to find a new solution. After this, testing must be done to discover if
what they came up with is safe and effective. There are some who find the process to be unethical.
These people may worry about the safety of those being tested on. While there are many debates on
the ethicality of human testing to further research on the brain, whenever standards and set procedures

One of the main concerns presented is that if a person is suffering from an abnormal problem, then
their judgement is most likely impaired or biased (Ford 73 82). Diseases can also contribute to
impaired thinking. For example, in chapter seven of the book, The Patient s Brain: The Neuroscience
Behind the Doctor Patient Relationship by Fabrizio Benedetti, explains how someone with dementia
may not go through key things that an average sick person experiences: feeling sick, seeking a
solution, meeting with a therapist, or going through therapy. With diseases like dementia pain,
understanding, and goals may be completely different then the majority of diseases (Benedetti 328).
Therefore, patients like this may not to be able to see the risk in a potential remedy. In order to safely
test out new discoveries, there must be a way for the patient to understand what could happen to them.
Without understanding, there can never be true safety. Patients must be able to comprehend a
procedure in order to decide if they would like to participate in it. Ethicists find the problem of
impaired judgement to be especially concerning. If the patient s judgement is impaired, then the
patient is unable to make a clear decision on if they are okay with the potential risks, and if they

Noah s Unified Language
The descendents of Noah had one unified language, with few words so as to be easily understood by
all. As one they went east, and finding a land which they called Shinar, they settled in the land and
agreed to begin building a city from good bricks and mortar, made of the clay of the land and bitumen
respectively. This city they said would have a tower with its top in the heavens, and by it they would
make a name for themselves, in the case that they be divided across the earth. The Lord came down
and saw their progress, observing their unity and power, and saw that they were able to do anything
within their imagination. Because of this God, confused their languages and scattered them across the
earth. The site of the city they were building ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The garden he creates, Eden, is made specifically for Adam with the tree of life as well as the Tree of
the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God tells Adam that he may eat of any tree in the garden apart from
the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This gives Adam a choice to continue being in union
with God, or to oust himself from God s presence by disobeying God and eating the fruit. God then
makes Eve to be a companion of man, named by Adam, therefore imposing his dominion over her.
When Eve gives Adam the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, he is accepting the
removal of the garden, not deliberately but because of his inability to resist the temptation. The return
to chaos follows the expulsion from the garden; for you out of it [dust] you were taken; and to dust
you shall return. Immediately following the expulsion, Cain kills his brother Abel, and division of the
first family occurs. The further division and confusion of families is seen in the genealogies of the

Conversion Of Reactants In A Saponification Reaction Lab...
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The main objective of this lab was to observe the effects of conversion of reactants in regard to
temperature and time. The main reactants that were used are ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide in a
saponification reaction. The expected products were sodium acetate and ethanol. This reaction was
conducted in a batch reactor in isothermic conditions and adiabatic conditions. The variables of
interest in this reaction are Conductivity, temperature, time and concentration.
The reactants used were 400 ml of 5.0% ethyl acetate and 400 ml of 2.3% Sodium hydroxide. This is
equivalent to 9.2 grams of sodium hydroxide which has 0.23 moles. The measured conductivity of the
sodium hydroxide initially before the start of the experiment was 112.2 mS/cm. The sodium hydroxide
was mixed with the acetic ether and recordings of the conductivity were recorded down in intervals of
10 seconds to approximately 3 minutes.
In the experiment conducted, during the adiabatic reaction, a gradual temperature increase was noted
over the period. The temperature increase was accompanied by a decrease in the conductivity
measured. This is attributed to the increase in conversion percentage of the reactants. The increase in
conversion percentage is due to the temperature increase which caused the reaction of the reactants as
they form a new product and this consequently causes the temperature increase.
During the isothermic reaction, the temperature of the reaction was maintained at a

The Globalization Of Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is globalizing their company in order to reach a bigger market, and become
competition for other companies. Southwest Airlines has already conquered the domestic market
beating American Airlines, United, and Delta according to Fortune. Access to a new market is what
motivated Southwest to globalize, they are expanding to the south of North America, with their new
assets found in their acquired airline AirTran Airways (LeBeau, 4) . Southwest Airlines has brought
low rates and a great experience to the domestic market, which was warmly received, they now plan to
dip into global market to bring better service to all.
Southwest Airlines has recently acquired AirTran Airways, which was a global company, this
acquisition it put Southwest in a great spot to expand to the global market. Southwest is integrating the
AirTran Airways international stops in Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas with their original domestic stops
in Atlanta, Baltimore, and Orlando starting July 1st 2014 according to an article in US Today. Next
they are looking to service 6 Latin American destinations including Belize City, Cancun, Mexico City,
Puerto Vallarta, and San Jose del Cabo/ Los Cabos starting in October 2015 (Zacks Equity Research, 1
2). These Latin American destinations are strategic because they are close to Southwest s headquarters
in Dallas TX, and they are prime vacation spots (Jones, 3). This will give more people a cheaper way
to vacation, and bring more people into these

The Shaw Festival And The Show Itself
Part 1: The Shaw festival and the show itself.
History of Shaw festival and Doherty and Rand
Shaw s works were only sporadically performed before 1962. This changed when lawyer Brian
Doherty offered up the idea of having a theatre company attributed to Shaw the way Stratford was to
Shakespeare. The company was created as A salute to shaw to help give the town a financial boost. In
the year of 1962 Doherty was named both artistic director and producer bring the shows Don Juan in
Hell and Candida to the stage. Throughout all of the changes in titles Doherty worked on A salute to
shaw that produced a major milestone on June 12, 1973. That milestone being the opening of the new
Shaw Festival theatre by Queen Elizabeth herself. During this time Calvin Rand arts Professor from
the University of Buffalo became president of the company and help move the company forward.

Summary Of China Simulation
To preface, my group did a simulation based on the Communist Chinese communes in the 1950s.
What went well with our simulation was that it was engaging. Due to the timed component of each
corn harvesting season, there was a race against the clock mentality which ultimately, required a lot of
focus and attention to the activity. In addition, since there are two communes competing against each
other, it helped bring out the competitive nature of our participants. One way that they simulation
could have been improved would be by adding more background information about China during this
time and talking more about the definition of a commune. One comment that was made was that this
activity was very fun, but it felt more like a farming game ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, the results of implementing a simulation can be multi faceted. One could say a
simulation could improve skills such as public speaking, looking at and synthesizing evidence,
communication skills, working together and collaboration, etc. One could also say a simulation can
improve student s ability to remember concepts such as economic principles, historical events, parts of
the brain, etc. It truly depends on the class that one teaches and the age group that determines which
learning goals to focus on. Another strategic use of simulations is to allow time at the end of the
simulation for discussion and debrief. At the teacher panel, one teacher mentioned how he had a
simulation but didn t allow time for a discussion, which ultimately was harmful. My goal would be to
allow time for discussion to not only allow students to take a breather but to also talk about how the
simulation connects to things learned in the

Examples Of Hindsight Bias
Availability Heuristic which is how people judge the probabilities of future events based on how easy
those events are to imagine or to retrieve from memory lead to further biases like hindsight bias .
Hindsight Bias imply that since events that actually happened are easier to imagine than the events
that are counterfactual therefore people attach a higher probability they previously attached to events
that later happened. Hindsight bias leads to second guessing or Monday morning quarterbacking and
can partly be responsible for lawsuits against stockbrokers who lost money for their clients. Another
bias called curse of knowledge , i.e. people who know a lot find it hard to imagine how little others
know. According Jean Piaget, Development ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Strong and testable assumptions of standard preference theory like reference independence ,which
imply that preferences are not affected by the individual s transient asset position. Standard preference
theory also assumes that preferences are invariant with respect to superficial variations in the way that
options are described and elicited preferences do not depend on the precise way in which preferences
are measured as long as the method used is incentive compatible in the sense that incentives are
provided to people to reveal their true preferences.
Tversky and Kahneman(1981) tested framing effects in what is now widely known Asian disease
problem in which people are informed about a disease that threatens 600 citizens and asked to choose
two undesirable options. In positive frame , people are given a choice between saving 200 lives for
sure(A) or a one third chance of saving all 600 with a two third chance of saving no one(B). In
negative frame , people are given a choice between 400people dying for sure(C), or two third chance
of 600 dying and a one third chance of no one dying(D). A,C and B,D are equivalent in terms of lives
lost or at risk, most people choose A over B but D over

Patient Care Technicians ( Pct )
Patient care technicians (PCT s), formally known as nursing assistants, are the backbone to any
nursing department. They create rapport with the patients and family members, as well as the nursing
and medical staff. Some of the tasks PCT s are responsible for include: obtaining and recording vital
signs, collecting and labeling specimens, blood glucose specimen, and obtaining electrocardiograms
(ECG). All these tasks are important and critical in an emergency. PCT s designated to work in
medical surgical floors may not remember the steps for obtaining a good ECG reading. Like the
saying goes: if you don t use it, you lose it. The most common reason ECG s are misinterpreted is due
to incorrect lead placement. PCT s in critical settings such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Electrode Lead Placement Electrodes must be placed in the correct landmarks to prevent
misinterpretation of the ECG. If the electrodes are placed incorrectly, the ECG may read as ST
changes, electrical axis, location of bundle branch blocks and location of infarcts (Riddle, 2008, para.
5). During the ECG, a total of 10 electrodes are applied to the patient. Six electrodes (V1 V6) are
placed on the anterior chest in the proper anatomical landmarks, and these leads must be placed
precisely for an accurate ECG interpretation. Electrodes V1 and V2 are placed on the fourth
intercostal space with V1 on the right and V2 on the left (Riddle, 2008). Electrodes V3 V6 are placed
on the left chest wall on the fifth intercostal space in the following order: V3 to the right of V4, V4 at
the midclavicular line, V5 to the right of V6, V6 to the midaxillary line (Riddle, 2008). The remaining
four electrodes are placed on both upper and lower extremities without touching the chest.
Objectives for PCT Workshop on ECG placement
The PCT will be able to demonstrate correct lead placement
The PCT will be able to troubleshoot the ECG machine and obtain missing equipment
The PCT will demonstrate techniques

Problems with the OJ Simpson Trial Essay example
On June 12, 1994, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were found dead at her
home in Brentwood, CA. Orenthal James Simpson, or O.J. Simpson was notified of their deaths and
immediately taken into custody for questions. Upon the collection of various pieces of evidence from
the crime scene, all avenues pointed to Simpson as the culprit for the double murder. The conclusion
of Simpson criminal trial resulted in his acquittal. There were various reasons for this acquittal. The
most prominent reasons include accusations of racism, evidence contamination, and the lack of faith
in DNA profiling. This paper will discuss the issues that arose with the trial in depth and offer an
explanation and solution to resolving issues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an attempt to counter the racist claims of the defense, the jury was selected and was mostly African
American females (Gaines 2001). The district attorney of Los Angeles believed that an all white jury
would be ineffective if Simpson were to be found guilty (Thernstrom Fetter 1996). This outcome of
the jury selection upset the Caucasian population because they felt as though the jury selection gave
Simpson the upper hand in the trial regardless of the fact that the jury was majority female. The
defense counsel was able to control the jury, in a sense through instilling in their minds that the LAPD
was in fact racist. At the trial s conclusion approximately 83% of blacks believed that Simpson was
guilty, whereas only 37% of whites believed that Simpson was guilty (Thernstrom Fetter 1996). These
allegations also pushed the evidence collected from the crime to be discredited as well. The second
issue with the Simpson trial, is the collection of evidence from the crime scene. The crime scene must
be protected at all costs to ensure the integrity of the evidence that will be collected from the crime
scene (Schiro, n.d.). Evidence from a crime scene is arguably the most important aspect of solving a
crime and finding an individual to be guilty of a particular crime. Evidence collection techniques can
make or break a case. Poor evidence collection techniques can discredit the prosecution and glorify
the defense,

Comedic entertainment has found ways to also inform its audience about important political statements that is used to refer to any act or nonverbal form of communication that is intended to influence a decision to be made for or by a political party ( Wikipedia), or ideas through a comedic point of view. Comical news is what brings our attention with ease because listening to straight political debates can lead a person to not want to sit and become informed on latest political topics. My family is larger than the average American family with fourteen people currently living in the same home, and an average American family being made up of 3.14 people (argis.com). With so many people living under one roof this group is generally loud and can sometimes be overwhelming for an outsider. This group loves to have fun and wherever we go we know how to entertain ourselves and have an enjoyable time, in fact, we consider our theme song Good time by Adam Young ft. Carly Rae Jepsen. When we are extrinsically motivated we engage in a behavior for an external payoff or to avoid an external punishment. Intrinsic motivation is based on internal factors such as organismic needs as well as curiosity, challenge, and fun. When we are intrinsically motivated, we engage in a behavior because we enjoy it (King, 2014, p. 338). I observed both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the same situation. With so many people living in the house we must take turns cooking dinner and in this instance, it was my brother and sisters turn to cook. My sister loves cooking, she was experiencing intrinsic motivation. Whereas my brother does not enjoy this task, but my brother knows that he will not get to go out with his friends if he does not help with dinner. My brother was extrinsically motivated in this situation. Episodic Memory Episodic memory is the retention of information about the where, when, and what of life s happenings (King, 2014, p. 228). • 4. The 1952 And 1986 Adaptation Of Oscar Wilde s Play Is your reaction to the reenacted scenes different than to the written one? My reaction to the 2001 film is not much different from how I read the play myself. That is until I reached the end of the film. Things became seemingly different from what I would have expected. The 1952 and 1986 interpretations of Oscar Wilde s play were more elegant than the 2001 film. My reaction to this version was much different from my initial perspective. This interpretation of the play seems to be presented in a more serious and dramatic manner. In what ways did both interpretations change the original? Was it a change for the better or worse in your opinion? The 2001 interpretation of Oscar Wilde s play seemed to be portrayed similarly to how I originally perceived. However, there are a few comedic scenes added for the enjoyment of the audience. The film portrays Miss Prism running away and fainting due to a shock of grief endured so unexpectedly. The scene makes for an exaggerated yet amusing scene. In my opinion, this scene made the interpretation better. In fact, her running away build excitement and curiosity up. I also enjoyed the scene of John and Algernon serenading the girls, in hopes that they would come down and forgive the two of them. This light hearted scene helped make their dilemma more enjoyable and less upsetting. The 1952 and 1986 version of The Importance of Being Earnest were not as funny as the other interpretation. The scene of Lady Augusta on her way to find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Argumentative Essay Smoking The numbers of people who smoke have increased over the years. Although they are equipped with the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people around those who smoke because when people smoke in public the smoke travels everywhere through the air, and the negative effects of the smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking should be banned in all public places. People who smoke in public portray a bad example. Children are easily influenced in their growing stages. They imitate the people around them because they cannot differentiate between right and wrong. Therefore they perceive the actions they see around them as the way thing should be. Besides that, teenagers who see people smoke in public take it as precedent to start smoking as well. There is a saying that goes monkey see monkey do , which tells us that people imitate the actions of others as they see it in their daily lives. Teenagers happen to think that smoking makes a person cool . When they see adults doing it on the streets, it strengthens their belief in the coolness of smoking. Some teenagers think that smoking marks their transition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Entangled Alliances Ww1 World War I is probably the greatest mistake the world has ever made in history, costing the lives of millions of people. It all started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria Hungary when he was visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the city of Sarajevo. Franz and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were riding around Sarajevo in their car when a bomb was thrown at the vehicle. The driver accelerated when he saw the flying object, and the bomb exploded underneath the wheel of the next car, injuring two of its occupants along with a dozen spectators. On the route back to the palace, the archduke s driver took a wrong turn into a side street, where nationalist Gavrilo Princip of Serbia was waiting. • 7. Gladrioters And Roman Gladiators Response Paper #3 Gladiators vs. Charioteers Roman charioteers and Roman gladiators were at the pinnacle of the entertainment industry during ancient Roman times. They both had large followings, were keys to political power, and were the reasons for architectural masterpieces. Charioteers and gladiators, however, were quite different in many ways. They had differences in backgrounds, in risks of their profession, in their professional careers, and in the various things they can stand for and represent. Gladiators and Charioteers in Ancient Rome are brought up and trained in different ways. The gladiators, for example, could either be prisoners of war, criminals, or free men . However, The taint of becoming a gladiator essentially took away one s free status, even from those who entered the profession voluntarily. One could say that all gladiators were slaves (Futrell 125). Being as everyone is essentially a slave, free men becoming gladiators would have to sign an agreement giving away their rights to choose. This wasn t something that you would see happen in the realm of chariot racing. Although, both were still considered infamis essentially meaning they did not enjoy the rights of citizens. The background in training was also quite different for these two. A gladiator would go to a ludi ran by lunista who were in charge of acquisition and training of the gladiators. They would then be assigned a doctor to go with the style they are to be trained in. This is different from the way charioteers were brought up. Often time they would be trained from adolescents specifically for chariot racing. These riders as well as their horses would be controlled by four different factions who were responsible for the training, negotiating, and maintenance of the individual riders. The large difference here coming in the early up bringing of the charioteers as well as the factions versus the ludi. The risk in these two professions also varied greatly. Both involved a lot of risk, but it came in different ways. For a gladiator everytime they suited up for the arena they had someone coming after them with the soul purpose of inflicting pain or killing them whereas a charioteer risked death, but many times due to just ... Mr. Winder expressed that he have the best local musicians, and have competitive prices for awesome drinks and food. When he first opened sales were at a high, however as of late, the sales have declined by approximately half. This has become an alarming situation as the result could be detrimental to Blue Note Café s existing. In addition to their decline in sales they are working with a limited marketing budget. Every dollar has to be used strategically for the betterment of the business. It is great to know that Mr. Winder has done some leg work to retrieve data from previous customers in the form of surveys. His consistent feedback was that there were no real issues, people loved the atmosphere and the food. Mr. Winder has hired me to prepare a guerilla marketing plan proposal that will yield the expectations of raised brand awareness, and increased value leading to increased sales. Josh Bell is a caring, immature and athletic teen who, through a series of trials comes of age. Josh Bell is caring because in the book it says, Tell him a joke. He doesn t even smile...Do his chores. He pays no attention...Say I m sorry but he won t listen (145), this quote shows he is very sorry that he hurt his brother and made him go to the hospital. In the book it also says, Well, I will talk to her about this job thing, since it means so much to you. (167), this piece of evidence shows that Josh cares about his father and is even willing to talk to his mom to convince her to let him take the job. These two quotes show how Josh is a caring teenager. Josh Bell is also very immature because in the book it says, Today, I plan on passing the ball to JB, but when I hear him say Filthy, give me the ball, I dribble over to my brother and fire a pass so hard, it levels him (134), this quote shows that he acted immaturely and without thinking or caring about what would happen to his brother. The article is The New Economy: Are Rules Irrelevant? by Daniel W. Uhlfelder, Esq. This will be hard if not impossible because the Internet can cross boundaries where laws could not cross. The key is to understand the different laws and how they are used, where and how should they be enforced and how to protect our interests and the interest of others and how we can use and develop laws to the best advantage of society. According to Daniel W. Uhlefelder Security, Internet taxation, electronic signatures, privacy, copyright, minority, small business development, and contract formation in cyberspace: These are just a few of the important legal issues members of the new economy are going to face. (Uhlfelder, 2000) Laws relating to our worldwide commerce are going to be needed to avoid ciaos in our economic society. If we cannot keep up with these changes, then there may be ill effects to our society and economy. Federal Trade Commission Chairman Robert Pitofsky reminds us that when enacting laws we must remember: Protect the marketplace, and don t undermine the incentives for innovation. And that is what this is about. The incentives for innovation seem to be very important in this area. On the other hand, you don t want people taking advantage of the fact that claming that ‘Well, We re high tech. The antitrust laws don t apply to us. That is not an acceptable defense. Despite or perhaps due to being a relatively small population, Asian Americans are not exempt from stereotyping. HISTORY OF ASIAN STEREOTYPES AND PERPETUATION The model minority stereotype is actually a relatively contemporary model, a strong contrast to some of the original portrayal of Asians. During the 1800s, Asians, particularly Chinese, were portrayed to be alien and insidious, these stereotypes strengthened by to fear of economic competition. However, the trait of being hard working was present as far back as building of the transcontinental railroad. By World War II, these stereotypes did not vanish and were only reinforced due to Japanese involvement in the war, particularly those of being alien and other negative attributes. The term model minority was first coined by sociologist William Peterson in 1966 as praise for the achievements of Japanese Americans. Using that term, he proposed for other minorities to follow their example. (The model minority : Bane or blessing for Asian Americans? 38) Since the coining of the term, popular press and media have propagated this stereotype (asians as stereotypes 109). In the recent years, television series portray Asian Americans as holding high status positions or as nerds (beyond minority model 23) The model minority stereotype is still strong in current American culture, even after more than 50 years since the coining of the term. • 15. Nazi Germany And The Nazi Party Essay Propaganda was significant in Germany in the period of 1933 to 1945 as it affected the people of Germany greatly since propaganda was presented to people in their everyday lives in some manner or form, making it inescapable. Propaganda was used mainly to display anti Semitic beliefs about Jews and others who were thought of as irrelevant to Nazi Germany such as the disabled, mentally ill, gypsies, communists and non Aryans who were all affected greatly by propaganda. Hitler and the Nazi Party achieved this through their propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels who used every form of media (radio, posters, newspapers, films, music and the arts) to portray the greatness of German culture. Though, some of these forms of propaganda displayed different levels of effectiveness making some forms more significant than others. One of the most significant forms of propaganda in their impact on Germany was the use of radio. Radios and radio licences summed to 90% of the ministry s expenses, which show how Hitler s messages, speeches and Nazi related broadcasts reached such a broad audience of the German population because radio was extremely accessible. Hitler made sure that radios were cheap enough for every family to afford so that his speeches were publicised, giving Hitler more opportunity to manipulate Germany and glorify the Nazi party. The significance of this form of propaganda is that the radio was such a regular part of family life, and would ve been played frequently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes is about Charlie Gordon, a mentally disabled 37 year old that is offered a one in a lifetime chance of being intelligent by having an operation. Although the operation works and he becomes very intelligent, he slowly loses his intelligence later on. Although Charlie has lost his I.Q which is his intelligence, he has still kept his E.Q which is his emotional intelligence. Charlie also has the involvement of going through all of that which transforms him as a person and he does not let anyone take advantage of him anymore. This shows that Charlie is still better off after the operation than before. To begin, Charlie is still better off after the surgery because he now has E.Q, or emotional intelligence unlike he did before he got the operation. Before the operation, Charlie did not understand the emotions of people. For instance, the entry on April 15 (Keyes 291) tells us that when Charlie and Ms. Kinnian were talking, Ms. Kinnian got something in her eye and had to go into the ladies room, but we knew that she was actually crying, an example of dramatic irony. This displays that before the operation, Charlie does not know the emotional standpoint of people, but after the operation Charlie does. Menet goes on to say that a few of those entertainers that performed Memory include Barbara Streisand, Johnny Mathis, and Judy Collins, to The Boston Pops and Liberace. Barry Manilow actually placed the song in the top 40 in the United States. A techno/dance version topped the European charts when Natalie Grant, a European singer, sang it last year. • 37. Essay On Fourier Analysis In numerical analysis, explicit and implicit approaches are used to obtain numerical approximations of time dependent ordinary and partial differential equations. Fractional order differential equations are used widely for finance market analysis. Implicit solution methods require more computational efforts and are complex to program. In order to overcome these difficulties, explicit method for fractional order differential equation has been introduced which is one of the most recently developed areas in the world of finance. The main aim of this paper is to investigate stability of Fractional Explicit method for qth order time fractional Black Schols equation by the well known Fourier analysis method and a numerical experiment is presented for comparison of European call option prices for different values of q . • 38. Lord Fogarty Essay The first poem I will be discussing is Fellow Being by Lionel Fogarty. Sound techniques such as consonance are used in this poem to invite the reader to understand how Australia can function as an unwelcoming home to the Indigenous Australians. Fogarty writes in the poem that The kissing of winds to trees are the love between aborigines . Through the repetition of the soft drawn out s sound in the words kissing and trees , the quality of the sound portrays a sense of love and safety. Furthermore, the word kissing , with its connotations of affection and love, and trees with its inferences of freedom and life emphasises the connection indigenous Australians had with the old Australia. The reminiscent style of the poem reveals the inhospitable nature of modern Australia towards Aborigines. Fogarty also uses image techniques such as metaphors to describe the interdependent nature of the relationship the indigenous Australians had with the land. By emphasizing this important relationship, Fogarty reveals the fractured bond that the white Australians forced upon the Aborigines. The phrase aboriginal is the bread equates the indigenous ... Noonuccal describes the Aborigines as, A Semi naked band, subdued and silent . The alliteration of the soft, drawn out s sound in the words subdued and silent conveys to the reader an atmosphere of silence and forlorn resignation. In particular, the word subdued , with its connotations of unresponsiveness and being withdrawn, further emphasises the conflict between the white and indigenous Australians. As new discoveries continue to happen, new solutions are created for existing problem. However, there are many situations where there is no known solution. When something like this occurs, scientists work to use hypotheses, evidence, and science to find a new solution. After this, testing must be done to discover if what they came up with is safe and effective. There are some who find the process to be unethical. These people may worry about the safety of those being tested on. One of the main concerns presented is that if a person is suffering from an abnormal problem, then their judgement is most likely impaired or biased (Ford 73 82). Diseases can also contribute to impaired thinking. For example, in chapter seven of the book, The Patient s Brain: The Neuroscience Behind the Doctor Patient Relationship by Fabrizio Benedetti, explains how someone with dementia may not go through key things that an average sick person experiences: feeling sick, seeking a solution, meeting with a therapist, or going through therapy. With diseases like dementia pain, understanding, and goals may be completely different then the majority of diseases (Benedetti 328). Therefore, patients like this may not to be able to see the risk in a potential remedy. In order to safely test out new discoveries, there must be a way for the patient to understand what could happen to them. Without understanding, there can never be true safety. Patients must be able to comprehend a procedure in order to decide if they would like to participate in it. Ethicists find the problem of impaired judgement to be especially concerning. If the patient s judgement is impaired, then the patient is unable to make a clear decision on if they are okay with the potential risks, and if they understand the process of the problem and ... God then makes Eve to be a companion of man, named by Adam, therefore imposing his dominion over her. • 43. Conversion Of Reactants In A Saponification Reaction Lab... EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The main objective of this lab was to observe the effects of conversion of reactants in regard to temperature and time. The main reactants that were used are ethyl acetate and sodium hydroxide in a saponification reaction. The expected products were sodium acetate and ethanol. This reaction was conducted in a batch reactor in isothermic conditions and adiabatic conditions. The variables of interest in this reaction are Conductivity, temperature, time and concentration. The reactants used were 400 ml of 5.0% ethyl acetate and 400 ml of 2.3% Sodium hydroxide. This is equivalent to 9.2 grams of sodium hydroxide which has 0.23 moles. The measured conductivity of the sodium hydroxide initially before the start of the experiment was 112.2 mS/cm. The sodium hydroxide was mixed with the acetic ether and recordings of the conductivity were recorded down in intervals of 10 seconds to approximately 3 minutes. In the experiment conducted, during the adiabatic reaction, a gradual temperature increase was noted over the period. The temperature increase was accompanied by a decrease in the conductivity measured. This is attributed to the increase in conversion percentage of the reactants. The increase in conversion percentage is due to the temperature increase which caused the reaction of the reactants as they form a new product and this consequently causes the temperature increase. During the isothermic reaction, the temperature of the reaction was maintained at a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to the timed component of each corn harvesting season, there was a race against the clock mentality which ultimately, required a lot of focus and attention to the activity. In addition, since there are two communes competing against each other, it helped bring out the competitive nature of our participants. Another strategic use of simulations is to allow time at the end of the simulation for discussion and debrief. At the teacher panel, one teacher mentioned how he had a simulation but didn t allow time for a discussion, which ultimately was harmful. In an attempt to counter the racist claims of the defense, the jury was selected and was mostly African American females (Gaines 2001). The district attorney of Los Angeles believed that an all white jury would be ineffective if Simpson were to be found guilty (Thernstrom Fetter 1996). This outcome of the jury selection upset the Caucasian population because they felt as though the jury selection gave Simpson the upper hand in the trial regardless of the fact that the jury was majority female. The defense counsel was able to control the jury, in a sense through instilling in their minds that the LAPD was in fact racist. At the trial s conclusion approximately 83% of blacks believed that Simpson was guilty, whereas only 37% of whites believed that Simpson was guilty (Thernstrom Fetter 1996). These allegations also pushed the evidence collected from the crime to be discredited as well. The second issue with the Simpson trial, is the collection of evidence from the crime scene. The crime scene must be protected at all costs to ensure the integrity of the evidence that will be collected from the crime scene (Schiro, n.d.).
