Introduction
• The main objective of our project to generate
50watt DC power by using solar plate and utilize
as street light.
• Generated power is used to charge the battery by
using charging circuit and stored in the battery to
street lights.
• The street light we used combination of high
intensity LEDs in series connection.

Solar plates
solar plates
• It is main part of our project and it provide
electrical energy in dc form by photovoltaic
effect.
• terminal voltage 20volt.
• Short circuit current 3.3mA
• Length 500 cm
• Height 2.5 cm
• Width 300 cm
• Efficiency 80-85%
Battery
Batteries
• We used 12v,7Ah battery in our project
• In our project we used lead acid battery the
chargingdischarging efficiency of this battery is 50-95%
• To maintain the voltage level and power supply rate of the
system.
• A battery bank connected parallel to this system takes
care of that.
• The battery is charged by solar electricity and this battery
then feeds a load directly or through an inverter.
Charging circuit
Charging circuit
Working of charging circuit
• A solar charger employs solar energy to supply
electricity to devices to supply electricity to
devices or charge battery
• This is not desirable to overcharge and under
discharge a lead acid battery.
• Both overcharging and under discharging can
badly damage the battery system.
• To avoid these both situations a controller is
required to attach with the system to maintain
flow of current to and from the batteries.
Load
• 12 High intensity LEDs are used in our project
as load.
• Combination of 4 LEDs are connected in
series.
• Rating of every LEDs 3 volts.
Advantages of Solar Energy
• Clean
• Sustainable
• Free
• Provide electricity to remote places
Disadvantages of solar energy
• Less efficient and costly equipment
• Part Time
• Reliability Depends On Location
• Environmental Impact of PV Cell Production
Applications
House lighting
PUMP IRRIGATION
Use Of Solar Energy
• Daylight
• Drying Agricultural Products
• Space Heating
• Water Heating
• Generating Electrical Power
– Concentrating Solar Power (CSP)
– Photovoltaic's
