Why Art Is Art Therapy
Art is the activity of creating communicating and expressing important ideas or feelings through
imagination and originality. In a world of imperfections like ours, humans need arts to survive. Art is a
way for people to escape reality and get lost in their own world and fantasies. Arts allow bringing a
person s inner world into the tangible reality. It is a vital part of the society; it improves
communication between individuals and provides opportunities for self expression. Art is a subjective
activity, interpreting these creations depends on a person s own experiences, visionary thoughts, and
associations. It evokes memories and nostalgia and triggers one s emotions and feelings. Art is a
therapy since it can improve the physical and mental health of individuals, helps them to work out
their conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, control behavior, reduce stress, increase self
esteem and self awareness. Arts are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people prefer to see arts as just art. Most of the time, individuals go to therapy because they
need somebody to talk to, somebody that will be supportive and understanding, someone that will
provide them with good advice and guidance for their lives. Others might think that art therapy isn t
really effective since not everyone is gifted with an artistic talent. In this case the process of healing or
feeling better will take more time; first the individual has to learn the desired form of art before
starting to use it as a therapy. People may also disagree with the statement of art being therapeutic
because art is just for fun and entertainment it can never lead to solutions. Arts may provide a way of
self expression but it is not a solution oriented method. The main purpose of therapy is to assure a
better well being of a person by resolving their troubles, something that arts cannot do; it can only be
used as a relief method to feel better for a specific period of

Exporting Anti-Gay Ideology
Exporting Ideology A series of events have been set in motion globally to thwart the progress of one
of the most consequential cultural shifts in human history. The gay rights movement, particularly in
the Western World, has made progress at an exponential rate and has remained a contentious source of
argument in the contemporary social and political landscape. Although significant strides have been
made, right wing religious groups have taken ideologically charged action both legislatively and
rhetorically. In a collection of Eastern European and African countries, anti gay legislation and
sentiment has garnered support from regional governmental factions and right wing religious
coalitions. The force driving these anti gay initiatives are not at the behest of the citizenry of each
respective region, but by American forces that until recently have been working in the shadows in
their proxy war against the gay rights movement. American evangelical groups have been operating
with collaborators abroad in order to preserve their notion of natural and traditional values. Most
notably, a series of anti gay propaganda and anti gay adoption laws have been enacted in Russia by
national legislators and American activists. The American right wing evangelical coalition has had
tremendous influence on the Russian anti gay movement legislatively and politically over the course
of the last decade. The goals of these American activists have not spawned out of the ether, but are
eerily

Technology Used By Geographers
One technology used by geographers is remote sensing. Remote sensing is the acquisition of data
using different satellites located around the Earth. The satellites will scan the Earth and relay that
information back to an information center/base back on Earth. Some of the uses of remote sensing are
that geographers are able to use the information they get from the satellites to map different features
across the world such as agriculture, drought, and sprawl. Another type of technology used by
geographers is GPS (global positioning system). GPS is enabled by a multitude of satellites, tracking
stations and receivers to relay the information. GPS most common use is transportation. GPS will

Obtain a Cleaned Base History:
Base Demand + Activities + Circumstances = Final Demand Plan
When changing the demand planning process to adopt the concept, markets need to adapt historical
data. This task will be done once during the implementation of the concept.
Maintain a Cleaned Base History:
Once the concept is in place, maintain the Cleaned Base History by cleaning history of the new
historical data. This task is to be done every month/week in the monthly and weekly Demand Planning
cycles.
Validation of Cleaning with Statistical Forecasting:
Statistical Forecasting tools are strongly recommended to support Obtain a Cleaned Base History
process. Indeed,
Demand planners and Sales Marketing need to validate the consistency of the Cleaned Base History
with statistical simulation tool.
Judgmental approach:
This involves the knowledge and experience of the Demand Planners and people from Sales
Marketing. Their judgment based on the business experience is the most important input in the
cleaning process.
Mathematical approach:
Mathematical and graphical techniques support the judgmental approach. They highlight data that,
potentially, need to be cleaned and thus ease the manual work.
Distinction is needed for three types of products:
The strategy to clean depends on the category:
· Category 1 : Mix products
Detailed cleaning is necessary
· Category 2 : Baseline products

Mortgage Backed Securities Summary
What are your thoughts about unknowing investors purchasing mortgage backed securities ? Do you
consider that the risk of investing? The United States economy is still for the moment the largest
economy in the world and despite what you may have heard it is the most well run. How do we know
this? During the global economic crisis, the United States was one of only two countries in the world
supremely qualified to react quickly to the crisis s, while the rest of the world plunged full speed into
the crisis the United States as well as China could pull the breaks, stopping the car from going over
the cliff and into a depression. What caused this derailment in the first place? The short answer is
mortgage backed securities. Mortgage backed securities are a minefield of hidden losses, over
leveraged mortgages, and insurance guarantees that are not sustainable. The market place is based on
consumers being able to buy a product that can reasonable do whatever it is that is advertised. This is
the reason the federal government has the FCC, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

left in the market is so low. This is deceptive because the bulk of the market tanked and died, so of
course only the very strongest survived in the market this in no way minimizes the risk for bad faith
on the part of traders. The article also tries to tempt perspective investors by alluding to the fact that
the FHA is insuring the risk, once again tempting the investor to make judgements with some
expectation of being bailed out on bad bet. The article does accurately state that private backed
securities carry no such guarantee but tries to cover this by intimating that they are taking less risk
since the crisis. The article in the end does paint a picture of how much danger there is remaining in

Bluegrass Research Paper
Bluegrass Bluegrass began originating its style and form during the 1930s and 1940s, although, the
term itself was not strongly used until the late 1950s. Bluegrass is vastly popular throughout the
southeastern United States. The music originates from a white, rural music tradition. The style is
drawn from Appalachian derived music that has integrated a mixture of African American and Anglo
Irish musical impacts. This genre is characterized by virtuosic performances with acoustic
implements. The term bluegrass itself refers to an acoustic string band melody. Its vocal style stresses
a very high pitched tone. Most commonly, the instruments involved with the sting band can range
between the mandolin, banjo, bass, guitar and fiddle. There is ... Show more content on

There Is A Plethora Of Theories That Can Be Employed To
There is a plethora of theories that can be employed to explain crime but none is more applicable and
relevant in my mind than the theory that A neighborhood or any form of A location is more than if not
as much of A catalyst for crime in that area coupled with the deterioration of the educational system
leads to A cycle of insurmountable poverty that in turn leads to crime. Crime is A direct product of
poverty. Where there s an impoverished population with almost nowhere to turn there s a rise reason
for crime to be present in that area. Coming from A city where the education system has failed so
many people such as Baltimore I know what it s like to witness people who lack the knowledge

He even went as far as describing those individuals who are born to eventually become criminals with
specific anatomical features such as sloping forehead, ears of unusual size, asymmetry of the face,
prognathism, excessive length of arms, asymmetry of the cranium and other physical stigmata .
Specific criminals, such as thieves, rapists, and murderers, could be distinguished by specific
characteristics that born criminals had less sensibility to pain and touch; more acute sight; a lack of
moral sense, including an absence of remorse; more vanity, impulsiveness, vindictiveness, and cruelty;
and other manifestations, such as a special criminal argot and the excessive use of tattooing. In closing
I oppose these theories is firstly due in part to the fact that in the case of Lombroso s theory he s
basically trying to predict A future of crime for people based on inherited traits that can t be changed
or altered in any way possible and that their just born primitive . And on top of all of he firmly
believed that just these traits alone basically predetermined what your life would end up inevitably
being stating that A person who is the criminal type cannot refrain from committing crime unless he
lives under exceptionally favorable circumstances. This throws me off because I alone much like most
people have at least one recollection of someone who came from unfavorable circumstances and made

Sympathy for Lady Macbeth Essay
Sympathy for Lady Macbeth In this essay I am going to answer the question above and I will do this
by saying whether or not I feel sympathy for lady Macbeth and I go through different parts in the play.
After reading parts of the play and watching the video I don t feel very much sympathy for lady
Macbeth, although I do feel some sympathy for her in some parts in the play. Over all I think that lady
Macbeth is a fiend as she says stuff that s not very nice to make Macbeth do the things that she is too
scared to do herself. I also think that she is a caring person really but she needed to be made evil by
witchcraft, as she would not be able to do what she does through out the play in her normal person.

I would while smiling in my face have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums and dashed the

rather kill her baby by bashing its brains out than break a promise like macbeth has done, although I
feel that she has said this to make him feel guilty so he will carry out the promise. This is a very
persuasive piece and although she might be bluffing Macbeth is a bit vulnerable and this manages to
persuade him to carry on and keep the promise. She also questions his manliness to persuade him to
kill Duncan so this shows how desperate she is to make him murder Duncan, which suggests to me
she is afraid to do it herself. I have absolutely no sympathy for her here as I think she is taking
advantage of Macbeth and she turns him against his will. In act 2 scene 2 after Macbeth kills Duncan.
He hears a knock and starts to get scared. Then lady Macbeth uses her control over him to make him

Power Of Romanticism In Sailing To Byzantium By W. B. Yeats
Yeats poetry is driven by a tension between the real world in which he lives and an ideal world world
that he imagines. Respond to the studied poetry in light of this statement.
W.B Yeats is a poet famous for his romantic, and often ironic, portrayals of the world and us, its
inhabitants. His struggle to reconcile the reality of human life with the model world he writes of, and
so desperately yearns for, resonates through his poetry and lends a profound depth to his work.
Yeats enchantment at the beauty of earth, the marvels of nature and life, the power of art and that of
academics, lies in striking contrast with the bitter despondency he feels at aspects of the reality he
finds himself in. His longing for longevity and fear of death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

his poetry I feel sure that the tension that drove so much of Yeats work was definitively grounded in a
profound understanding of the nature of the world around him and, more importantly, us, its

The Policy Of The Federal Government Should Enact Based On...

Debate as a Life
Background History of Debate In my sophomore year of highschool, I joined the policy debate club.
Policy debate was an intensive academic activity where teams of two would engage in discussions on
the best government s policy to enact. There would be two teams in each debate round: affirmative or
negative. The affirmative would have to propose a policy that the U.S federal government should
enact based on their constructed advantages for implementation. After that speech, the negative team
would have to make arguments, for examples, kritiks, disadvantages, and counterplans, to refute the
implementation of the plan. Throughout an almost two hour debate round, both teams will try to speak
almost 500 words per minute in order to respond to arguments. As one can imagine, debate is fast
paced activity that boils down to which team can best defend their arguments. Within in this debate
round, there would be a judge to decide the winner. Flow: Difference between Exotelic and Autotelic
The concept of flow in occupational science is described as an autotelic experience where an
individual is fully engaged under a high challenge activity. Often times, one may lose sense of time
due to high level of concentration. My engagement with debate did not begin with an autotelic
experience, but I was introduced by my friends to a debate camp that paid students $400 dollars each
to learn the structure of policy debate. This

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Leverage...
Banks typically need equity and need to make debts to fund loans and other operations. A bank s
indebtedness is primarily composed by deposits, borrowings owed to other banks, and bonds released
by the bank itself in the capital market. On the other hand a bank s equity is determined by subtracting
the amount of a bank s liabilities from the amount of its assets; for a bank, equity largely coincides
with capital. Regulation of bank capital is necessary in modern economy because without it a bank
could potentially hold very modest capital and in case of losses become insolvent and unable to repay
its creditors, including savers and deposit holders. Capital serves as a cushion that should allow banks

The rule merely imposes a minimum proportion of assets (or a maximum proportion of debt) to equity,
but those assets are not supposed to meet any specific requirements, especially in regard to their
riskiness, so a bank s capital, in a system which uses the leverage ratio alone, could potentially consist
solely of very high risk assets. This can lead to a shift of the entire banking system towards riskier and
riskier operations, due to the fact that, because the gearing ratio imposes an higher level of capital than
that, that will be hold without regulation, and this is undesirable from the perspective of a bank, since
it reduces its total amount of resources that can be invested for profit, a bank would be naturally
induced to invest its remaining resources in high risk assets which usually promise an higher return of
profit compared to low risk assets. Such results would be obviously counterproductive, considering
that the intention of assuring a shelter from insolvency would be completely defeated in the case that
the high risk assets would prove to be worth less than expected. In extreme scenarios the situation
could be worse than the absence of regulation, if the existence of rules imposing leverage ratios were
to induce a general sense among the public of soundness of the banking system, that may prove to be
misplaced in the case that the solvency of the banks is

Relationships and Religion in The Handmaids Tale by...
In the novel The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood the themes of Religion and inter human
relationships are the themes that are most evident in the text. This novel shows the possibility of the
existence of an all powerful governing system. This is portrayed through the lack of freedom for
women in society, from being revoked of their right to own any money or property, to being stripped
of their given names and acquiring names such as Offred and Ofglen, symbolizing women s
dependant existence, only being defined by the men which they belong to. This portrayal of women

Offred is a part of a society that leaves her deprived of any warm human relationship, and only
conforms to the rules set on her because she wants to survive. Having such a lack of freedom makes
her crave human affection, and she copes with this by trying to escape reality, while at the same time
avoiding the memories of the freedom she once had. Religion is an idea that is also significant in A
Season in the Life of Emmanuel by Marie Claire Blais. This theme is accompanied by hypocrisy,
abuse and the need for escape from reality. This novel tells the stories of children growing up in a
society in which their lives are not valued. The children in this society are expected to repress the
abuse inflicted on them, leaving them to deal with their demons on their own. This abuse is often
present in the church and in the reformatories that they are sent to, demonstrating the hypocrisy
present in this society. Since these children are not aided in overcoming the obstacles placed in their
lives, they search for and begin to find their own ways of escaping reality. For Jean le Maigre, who is
very sick but nonetheless is made to go to school and work the family s land, the escape is found
through the writing of stories and poems. Jean le Maigre is also a good example of the search for a
reality break in the children, along with Number 7, as they both resort to alcohol to escape from the
repression that they felt from the strict religious lifestyle they followed at

How Climate Change Affected Canada
Climate change happens when long term weather patterns are refined. It can be identified in the
changes of temperature, winds, precipitation, and other forms of natural processes. This can occur
through many different factors, one being through human activity. Global warming is one of the main
scales used to measure climate change. For life to be able to continue on Earth, the sun is required.
Solar radiation is reflected back into space, however, small amounts of radiation get trapped in the

Distinction Between State and Government
Introduction
The state and government are distinguished in terms of functions, structures, duties, composition and
the nature of their powers. The state is permanent, whilst government changes, altered or modified and

neutral to conduct its business whilst government consists of elected officials who represent partisan
sympathies. The state is more extensive than the government. The state is characterized by state

Security Act (POSA) enforced by the government without seeking the consent of the people.
Therefore, state and government are different in terms of the nature of their powers as each has its
own specific powers different from the other.
Nevertheless, state and government are differentiated as the state is characterized by sovereignty, state
institutions, legitimacy and territorial association whilst government is characterized by the three arms
namely legislature, executive and judiciary respectively. According to Heywood (2000:39), contends
through sovereignty the state exercises absolute and unrestricted power in that it stands above all other
associations and groups in society. Hobbes for this reason portrayed the state as a Leviathian a
gigantic monster. State institutions are recognizably public in contrast to the private institutions of
civil society. The state bodies are responsible for making and enforcing collective decisions in society
and are funded ate the public expense. For example in Zimbabwe the police, army and courts are
funded by the state for them to function fully. Due to legitimacy state decisions are usually accepted as

We Watched As A Class
A. The first term to be discussed is Group. States by Henslin as Set of people who interact on the basis
of shared expectations and who possess some degree of identity (145).
A part of being in MS 13 is that all people involved are one group. They all follow the same rules and
respect the same leader. In parts of the documentary we watched as a class, we seen how MS 13 is ran
in some sorts like a business. Everyone in MS 13 has a job and duty to fulfill, and there are
consequences for not following the guidelines. Even though MS 13 members are extremely dangerous
people, they still show community and compassion toward one another. Also, the group has to be kept
by itself in some situations, for example, there are entire prisons ... Show more content on

B. The next term to be discussed is Status. Henslin defines status as Socially defined position in a
group or in a society. Each status has attached to it one or more roles .
When most people think of the word status, they think of where it places them in society. If you have a
higher status you might be considered a more important human being. If you have a lower status you
might be considered poor or in poverty . But what does it mean to have a status as a gang? That
questions certainly can t be answered by me correctly, however I would imagine in a world of gangs
having the highest status would make you the most feared gang. If you are going to join a gang, it
might as well be one worth joining such as MS 13. If MS 13 is recognized worldwide as the most
dangerous gang then they probably are! Having a status like that on the streets would make other
gangs stay away from you, as well as make people afraid to tell you no or show you consequences. In
the video we watched as a class police enforcement coming up short every time when they would bust
them for drugs or something else. It made me wonder if the police really were being out smarted or if
they didn t want to dig too deep into an unfamiliar territory. Even though MS 13 is recognized as the
world s most dangerous gang, everyone seems to know little information about them. It is still
unknown whether not

Robinson Crusoe Typography Essay
1. Introduction
As one of the big literary successes in the early eighteenth century England and the first English realist
novel (Fabricant 742, Hammond 20), Daniel Defoe s Robinson Crusoe, published in 1719, still
fascinates such literary scholars and critics as, for example, Hammond and Richetti. Among other
topics, they have studied its style, problematics, themes, characters and plot. At the same time, the
novel s formal features such as typography have been insufficiently explored. Therefore, this paper
focuses on one of the typographical elements of the text, namely on the use of italics in it.
The aim of this paper is to find out/detect whether Daniel Defoe considered/regarded the typography
in general and the italic font in particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, the literary works could be changed, abridged or altered in some other way without
their author s having the say. There was an attempt in 1710 to change/improve the situation when A
Copyright Act introduced limited copyright: after certain time being in print, the copyright remained
with the author, if living (Raven 23). In reality though, most authors continued surrendering all claims
to their works (Raven 24). As a consequence, until 1774, booksellers remained the ones retaining the
authority over the printing process and print industry (Pritchard 308), buying wholly and completely
the right to reproduce a literary work (Raven 23). In other words, the concept of copyright as a
representation of authorial ownership of intellectual property did not prevail until the ... early 19th
centuries (Finkelstein 71).
As a result, writers largely remained pawns in the literary marketplace (Raven 15): they neither
exercised any authority over their books, nor gained substantial financial gain. Only a famous few
gained fortunes from their books (Raven 15). In such a way, it appears quite problematic to discuss
eighteenth century typography as an exclusive responsibility of the author (Bray 106). Although it
may have been the case occasionally,

Hierarchal Mentality In Down At The Cross By James Baldwin
James Baldwin s essay, Down At The Cross emphasizes the importance of treating all people equally
rather than adopting and perpetuating racially hierarchal mentalities. Baldwin describes the
complicated dynamic he had with his father growing up, in the context of this human thirst for
hierarchical dominance that is depicted in Baldwin s father. Baldwin suggests multiple times that he
and his father s relationship is dysfunctional as a result of his father s infatuation with having power
over him. A similar infatuation with domination and power is also notably prominent in the people
who have racially oppressed Baldwin s father in his lifetime. Not only does this mentality demonstrate
hypocrisy, but it also demonstrates the endless cycle of oppression that occurs when one person or
group of people assert morally unwarranted dominance over another. In his letter, Down At The Cross,
Baldwin refers to his father as an emblem of a thought paradigm that, in a racial context, is
superficially appealing but ultimately ineffectual.
Baldwin uses accounts of his father s hypocritical actions to symbolize the theme of racial and
religious self righteousness. When Baldwin brings his friend over to his home, his father slaps him
when he learns that his friend is Jewish, and not Christian like himself(37). Baldwin describes on the
preceding page that many Christians believe that black people are descended from Ham, and therefore
are destined to slavery. But, in spite of this Christian

The Beliefs And Beliefs Of Different Religions On Death
Nature of Death
With a beginning of life there is an end, but the nature of death and how it is view can affect how we
live. Death is understood to be that one s biological function cease to function and the body no longer
is capable of anything (Pence, 2011). The nature of death is viewed by each one of us differently and
this paper is going to discuss the values and beliefs of different religions on death. This paper is going
to look at Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Shinto religion discussing what the nature
of death virtues and values are. Finally discussing the overall understand of the nature of death within
all these religions.
Hinduism is a religion that follows concepts of the Upanishads, which includes the Brahman, Atman,
Maya, Karma, Samsara, and Moksha. The concepts provide guidance throughout life and are key to a
final death. The Brahman is something one believes in and is experience in the world that surround
him. The Atman is who we are the identity of our soul, an understanding we are not just a body we are
more. The term Brahman refers to the experience of the sacred within nature and the external universe,
while Atman refers to the experience of the sacred within oneself (Molloy, 2013, p. 83). Along with
understanding the spiritual aspect of nature and one s soul is understanding how this effects every
living thing. The Maya which can be referred to as magic or illusion is an important factor in life and
death. Hinduism, form

Camping Tent Disadvantages
The availability of secure campsites close to major cities is increasingly attracting families wishing to
take a camping tent vacation without heading out to the jungle. For someone who has never been out
camping, the toughest question is where to experience their first camping tent trip. Starting off in low
risk well supplied areas not too far from home is usually the safest option. Increasing gasoline and
airlines charges are squeezing families struggling to make it through the tough economic times and
forcing them to embrace camping tent alternatives. With high quality family tents retailing at under
$200, a whole family of up to 6 people can enjoy a camping tent extended weekend for under $100
close to urban centers. What are some of things a first time camper needs to know in choosing their
first tent?
Type and Size
With many types of tents available, choosing the right one can be mind boggling. If you are looking
for a tent to use for many years and do not plan on going camping in winter, then a three season tent is
all you need. Dome family tents are preferable because they have more space and headroom.
When it comes to deciding the size, if you are not going backpacking in the wilderness where the
weight of the tent is a major consideration, always go for a tent that will take more people than the
quoted size. Manufacturers usually overstate the amount of people that can comfortably sleep in a tent.
The rule of thumb is to select a tent that will sleep 1 2 people

Class Structure In College Campuses
In the 2001 Reese Witherspoon classic Legally Blonde, Elle Woods, a typical blonde sorority girl,
declares Everybody likes me ! This mindset follows sororities and fraternities as they typically occupy
the top of the class structure in colleges everywhere, simultaneously mirroring the American class
structure. White, upper class men and women take to greek life in order to fraternize with people like
them, or their brothers and sisters . The University of Richmond simultaneously incorporates this
concept, as greek life students are more revered and typically more sociable, and popular than non
affiliated students. The class structure in college campuses, revolving around greek life, simulates that
of the outside world, and places rich, white students into the elitist upper class of college life. The
University of Richmond s sororities and fraternities have a financial commitment to join. Students
must pay dues to join, and unlike UR, campuses with special greek housing have to pay extra to live
with their brothers or sisters. For students on financial aid or taking student loans, greek dues may be
too expensive, which inhibits that student from joining and reaping the benefits, social or professional.
The dues alone are very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The social scene at colleges typically orbits greek life, and the University of Richmond is no
exception. However, when race and economic capital are main factors on who is able to join a sorority
or fraternity, it leads to a class structure that limits minorities and promotes white, rich kids into
believing they re above others. This elitist model in greek life is a reflection of American society in
which the rich white typically take the upper class and the poor minorities take up the lower class.
This like minded way that permeates greek life as well as the contorted view of class perpetuates the
rudimentary myth of the whites and wealthy being the

Mao Villain
After a preliminary analysis of my constructed topic, a few common themes are clearly present and
discernible in relation to Mao s perception as a hero or villain. At such present time of my research, I
am begging to develop and contextualise a clear understanding of how I will ultimately answer mu
question and I have incorporated the aspects of inquiry as well as representativeness and corroboration
already into my research. In relation to being a villain, it is clear the wide spread death and his
subsequent concern as a result of his movements represents his criminal persona. This is coming
across in my main pieces of evidence up to this point. This is also indicating Mao s motives and
subsequently the effect it had on a specific group of people, in this case is the Chinese s public. His
movements also indicate somewhat his self interest in developing his humongous ideological
campaign. Despite this, it is vital I further investigate how in comparison that these movements were
responsible for his widespread perception of a hero and as such find a myriad of perspectives that
develop a common idea that the implementation of movements such as the Great Leap Forward and
the Cultural revolution was specifically the reason for Mao being viewed as a hero. ... Show more

However, historians have conveyed similar opinions which has been evident through hthe background

ensure I have sources that don t state the same thing, but instead build on the concept. This can be
seen with Britannica and the History.com in that they express Mao s waste of life providing statistics
that can be a useful piece of information that helps advance my argument. Such sources are quite

Essay on Franklin D Roosevelt
Franklin D. Roosevelt
In the 1932 election, the Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt collected 57.4 percent of the popular
vote to easily defeat the republican opponent, Herbert Hoover. He strove to be a symbol of confidence
and a new hope for the nation, declaring in his inauguration day speech on March 4, 1933, quot;the
only thing we have to fear is fear itself quot; (Norton, p.727). By incorporating this theory into
politics, he attempted to pick America off the ground, and set America back on track with two sets of
programs called the First and Second New Deals.
During the first hundred days of his presidency, Roosevelt set forth his plan for national recovery,
known as the First New Deal. Designed and administered by Roosevelt s ... Show more content on

May 18 saw the passing of one of the New Deal s most well known programs, creating the Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA), a plan to develop and conserve the Tennessee Valley, and use its resources for
energy purposes (Norton, p.730). The hundred days lasted until June 16, on which date another very
important piece of legislature was passed, the National Industrial Recovery Act, which created the
National Recovery Administration (NRA) to manage the recovery of the industry and finance
economies (McElvaine, p.112).
Among many agricultural measures, the creation of the AAA stood out as the most important. Under
the leadership of Secretary of Agriculture Henry Wallace and AAA head Chester Davis, the AAA
controlled the production of crops, and thus prices, by offering subsidies to farmers who produced
under set quotas (Leuchtenburg, p.121). This funding was financed by a tax on food processors, which
transferred to high prices for processed goods for consumers (Leuchtenburg, p.121).
The major act in the industrial and finance area was the creation of the NRA. The NRA brought
together representatives of the nation s major industries, who together drafted codes of fair
competition (McElvaine, p.113). Under its head administrator, Hugh Johnson, the NRA established the
regulations that held industry together during the New Deal.

Given the proper investment of time and effort, this book will assist any believer in both repairing
their interpersonal relationships as well as assisting in the eternal redemption of others. Thompson
once convinced of the validity of this patter, both re thought and re taught everything he was doing in
the field of evangelism. The pattern consists of seven concentric circles that represent seven different
levels of relationships. Beginning with one s self moving progressively outward through family,
relatives, friends, neighbors and associates, acquaintances to person X (that unexpected kingdom
connection). The author then leads the reader through a seven step process that helps insure that each
relationship is whole and accessible to the Holy Spirits uninterrupted flow. That process begins with
getting right. This encompasses the clearing of past offenses, getting right with God, yourself and
others as mentioned in Matthew 5:23 24. The readers is then led to precede to survey existing
relationships. This helps to determine those previously overlooked opportunities to share Christ love.
Thirdly, we are to assume a posture of prayer, allowing God s Holy Spirit to work in and through us in
intercession and reconciliation. The fourth step in the process is the building of relational bridges into
the lives of those God has revealed to us. These bridges are reinforced by step five, the showing of
God s love

Construction and the Built Environment
Construction and the Environment Assignment One The year 1992 and the ‘Earth Summit in Rio de
Janeiro marked a paradigm shift in the attitude of the governments of the world, as over 150 delegates
attended and recognised the importance of ecological issues to the future of humanity. This was of
great significance to the construction industry, as one of the greatest consumers, and producers, of our
economic system. ‘Construction accounts for 40% of the total flow of raw materials into the global
economy every year – some 3 billion cubic tons. The industry accounts for approximately 9% of

According to the Environment Agency, 31% of land used for residential uses originated from
farmland. Two widely used terms in this arena are brownfield and greenfield. Brownfield refers to
sites that have previously been occupied by a permanent structure, greenfield to virgin land. A
governmental target has been set for 60% of new housing to be sited on brownfield areas. As the risk
of flooding is expected to increase due to climate change, there can be a conflict between the desire to
build on flood safe areas and to utilise brownfield sites, as many of the latter are situated in areas
known to be at risk from flooding. Another problem is that the greatest need for new housing is in the
South East, whereas more available brownfield land is located in the North due to the decline of heavy
industry. Building on previous industrial sites has its own problems as there may be contamination in
the soil itself, something that has to be assessed at the planning stage as part of the general site
evaluation. Different land uses in Britain in 2000 http://www.environment

  • 2. Why Art Is Art Therapy Art is the activity of creating communicating and expressing important ideas or feelings through imagination and originality. In a world of imperfections like ours, humans need arts to survive. Art is a way for people to escape reality and get lost in their own world and fantasies. Arts allow bringing a person s inner world into the tangible reality. It is a vital part of the society; it improves communication between individuals and provides opportunities for self expression. Art is a subjective activity, interpreting these creations depends on a person s own experiences, visionary thoughts, and associations. It evokes memories and nostalgia and triggers one s emotions and feelings. Art is a therapy since it can improve the physical and mental health of individuals, helps them to work out their conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, control behavior, reduce stress, increase self esteem and self awareness. Arts are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people prefer to see arts as just art. Most of the time, individuals go to therapy because they need somebody to talk to, somebody that will be supportive and understanding, someone that will provide them with good advice and guidance for their lives. Others might think that art therapy isn t really effective since not everyone is gifted with an artistic talent. In this case the process of healing or feeling better will take more time; first the individual has to learn the desired form of art before starting to use it as a therapy. People may also disagree with the statement of art being therapeutic because art is just for fun and entertainment it can never lead to solutions. Arts may provide a way of self expression but it is not a solution oriented method. The main purpose of therapy is to assure a better well being of a person by resolving their troubles, something that arts cannot do; it can only be used as a relief method to feel better for a specific period of ... • 3. Exporting Anti-Gay Ideology Exporting Ideology A series of events have been set in motion globally to thwart the progress of one of the most consequential cultural shifts in human history. The gay rights movement, particularly in the Western World, has made progress at an exponential rate and has remained a contentious source of argument in the contemporary social and political landscape. Although significant strides have been made, right wing religious groups have taken ideologically charged action both legislatively and rhetorically. In a collection of Eastern European and African countries, anti gay legislation and sentiment has garnered support from regional governmental factions and right wing religious coalitions. The force driving these anti gay initiatives are not at the behest of the citizenry of each respective region, but by American forces that until recently have been working in the shadows in their proxy war against the gay rights movement. American evangelical groups have been operating with collaborators abroad in order to preserve their notion of natural and traditional values. Most notably, a series of anti gay propaganda and anti gay adoption laws have been enacted in Russia by national legislators and American activists. The American right wing evangelical coalition has had tremendous influence on the Russian anti gay movement legislatively and politically over the course of the last decade. The goals of these American activists have not spawned out of the ether, but are eerily ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The article also tries to tempt perspective investors by alluding to the fact that the FHA is insuring the risk, once again tempting the investor to make judgements with some expectation of being bailed out on bad bet. Crime is A direct product of poverty. Where there s an impoverished population with almost nowhere to turn there s a rise reason for crime to be present in that area. Specific criminals, such as thieves, rapists, and murderers, could be distinguished by specific characteristics that born criminals had less sensibility to pain and touch; more acute sight; a lack of moral sense, including an absence of remorse; more vanity, impulsiveness, vindictiveness, and cruelty; and other manifestations, such as a special criminal argot and the excessive use of tattooing. In closing I oppose these theories is firstly due in part to the fact that in the case of Lombroso s theory he s basically trying to predict A future of crime for people based on inherited traits that can t be changed or altered in any way possible and that their just born primitive . And on top of all of he firmly believed that just these traits alone basically predetermined what your life would end up inevitably being stating that A person who is the criminal type cannot refrain from committing crime unless he lives under exceptionally favorable circumstances. Sympathy for Lady Macbeth Essay Sympathy for Lady Macbeth In this essay I am going to answer the question above and I will do this by saying whether or not I feel sympathy for lady Macbeth and I go through different parts in the play. After reading parts of the play and watching the video I don t feel very much sympathy for lady Macbeth, although I do feel some sympathy for her in some parts in the play. Over all I think that lady Macbeth is a fiend as she says stuff that s not very nice to make Macbeth do the things that she is too scared to do herself. Lady Macbeth is saying to macbeth she would rather kill her baby by bashing its brains out than break a promise like macbeth has done, although I feel that she has said this to make him feel guilty so he will carry out the promise. This is a very persuasive piece and although she might be bluffing Macbeth is a bit vulnerable and this manages to persuade him to carry on and keep the promise. She also questions his manliness to persuade him to kill Duncan so this shows how desperate she is to make him murder Duncan, which suggests to me she is afraid to do it herself. I have absolutely no sympathy for her here as I think she is taking advantage of Macbeth and she turns him against his will. In act 2 scene 2 after Macbeth kills Duncan. His struggle to reconcile the reality of human life with the model world he writes of, and so desperately yearns for, resonates through his poetry and lends a profound depth to his work. Weimin Deng (Tuesday Section) Debate as a Life Background History of Debate In my sophomore year of highschool, I joined the policy debate club. Policy debate was an intensive academic activity where teams of two would engage in discussions on the best government s policy to enact. There would be two teams in each debate round: affirmative or negative. The affirmative would have to propose a policy that the U.S federal government should enact based on their constructed advantages for implementation. After that speech, the negative team would have to make arguments, for examples, kritiks, disadvantages, and counterplans, to refute the implementation of the plan. Throughout an almost two hour debate round, both teams will try to speak almost 500 words per minute in order to respond to arguments. As one can imagine, debate is fast paced activity that boils down to which team can best defend their arguments. Within in this debate round, there would be a judge to decide the winner. • 15. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Leverage... Banks typically need equity and need to make debts to fund loans and other operations. A bank s indebtedness is primarily composed by deposits, borrowings owed to other banks, and bonds released by the bank itself in the capital market. On the other hand a bank s equity is determined by subtracting the amount of a bank s liabilities from the amount of its assets; for a bank, equity largely coincides with capital. Regulation of bank capital is necessary in modern economy because without it a bank could potentially hold very modest capital and in case of losses become insolvent and unable to repay its creditors, including savers and deposit holders. The rule merely imposes a minimum proportion of assets (or a maximum proportion of debt) to equity, but those assets are not supposed to meet any specific requirements, especially in regard to their riskiness, so a bank s capital, in a system which uses the leverage ratio alone, could potentially consist solely of very high risk assets. This can lead to a shift of the entire banking system towards riskier and riskier operations, due to the fact that, because the gearing ratio imposes an higher level of capital than that, that will be hold without regulation, and this is undesirable from the perspective of a bank, since it reduces its total amount of resources that can be invested for profit, a bank would be naturally induced to invest its remaining resources in high risk assets which usually promise an higher return of profit compared to low risk assets. Such results would be obviously counterproductive, considering that the intention of assuring a shelter from insolvency would be completely defeated in the case that the high risk assets would prove to be worth less than expected. In extreme scenarios the situation could be worse than the absence of regulation, if the existence of rules imposing leverage ratios were to induce a general sense among the public of soundness of the banking system, that may prove to be misplaced in the case that the solvency of the banks is ... In the novel The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood the themes of Religion and inter human relationships are the themes that are most evident in the text. This novel shows the possibility of the existence of an all powerful governing system. Having such a lack of freedom makes her crave human affection, and she copes with this by trying to escape reality, while at the same time avoiding the memories of the freedom she once had. Religion is an idea that is also significant in A Season in the Life of Emmanuel by Marie Claire Blais. This theme is accompanied by hypocrisy, abuse and the need for escape from reality. This novel tells the stories of children growing up in a society in which their lives are not valued. The children in this society are expected to repress the abuse inflicted on them, leaving them to deal with their demons on their own. This abuse is often present in the church and in the reformatories that they are sent to, demonstrating the hypocrisy present in this society. Since these children are not aided in overcoming the obstacles placed in their lives, they search for and begin to find their own ways of escaping reality. For Jean le Maigre, who is very sick but nonetheless is made to go to school and work the family s land, the escape is found through the writing of stories and poems. If you have a lower status you might be considered poor or in poverty . But what does it mean to have a status as a gang? That questions certainly can t be answered by me correctly, however I would imagine in a world of gangs having the highest status would make you the most feared gang. • 23. Hierarchal Mentality In Down At The Cross By James Baldwin James Baldwin s essay, Down At The Cross emphasizes the importance of treating all people equally rather than adopting and perpetuating racially hierarchal mentalities. Baldwin describes the complicated dynamic he had with his father growing up, in the context of this human thirst for hierarchical dominance that is depicted in Baldwin s father. Baldwin suggests multiple times that he and his father s relationship is dysfunctional as a result of his father s infatuation with having power over him. A similar infatuation with domination and power is also notably prominent in the people who have racially oppressed Baldwin s father in his lifetime. Not only does this mentality demonstrate hypocrisy, but it also demonstrates the endless cycle of oppression that occurs when one person or group of people assert morally unwarranted dominance over another. In his letter, Down At The Cross, Baldwin refers to his father as an emblem of a thought paradigm that, in a racial context, is superficially appealing but ultimately ineffectual. Baldwin uses accounts of his father s hypocritical actions to symbolize the theme of racial and religious self righteousness. When Baldwin brings his friend over to his home, his father slaps him when he learns that his friend is Jewish, and not Christian like himself(37). Baldwin describes on the preceding page that many Christians believe that black people are descended from Ham, and therefore are destined to slavery. But, in spite of this Christian ...
