2. Advanced Practice Nurse Implications. Spiritual Assessment
Advanced Practice Nurse Implications
Spiritual assessment and care of a patient at each medical or psychiatric appointment is an essential
aspect of providing adequate care by all NPs. To be able to do so, NP must understand that spirituality
and religiosity are not synonymous. Unlike the concept of religion, which defined by the online
Oxford dictionary (2017) as The belief in a worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a
personal God or gods, spirituality holds various definitions depending on whom you ask. According to
Taylor (2002; who credits Reed [1992]) ...spirituality refers to that part of being human that seeks
meaningfulness through intra , inter , and transpersonal connection (p. 10). Therefore, rapport with

possible to identify, or grasp, in its entirety the phenomenon of humility (p. 578). Equally, Castledine
(2011) states, The trouble with humility is that it is a very humble virtue to have and one that cannot
be easily rated in the same way as other values in life (p. 527). Likewise, Srokosz (2013) suggests,
humility is difficult to define and a clear scientific understanding of humility does not exist yet (p.
103). Similarly, Crigger and Godfrey (2010) review of literature offer two reasons for the lack of
scholarly interests in humility : (a) original meaning of the term humble, narrow sense of having a low
estimation of one s self and being of little value, the notion of humility conflicts with modern
conceptions of the self and (b) its religious affiliation may also dampen the benefit of acquiring or
nursing humility, particularly in the US culture... (p. 311 312).
Notwithstanding, de Vries (2004) examined humility by applying qualitative approach in order to
explore the following two objectives: (a) To describe how washing feet is a participatory experience,
and (b) To describe how the experience of washing feet can change the relationship between nurse and
patient (p. 580). Utilizing a sample size of seven post registered nurses as participants de Vries

3. Christian Listen To Secular Music
Should A Christian Listen to Secular Music?
Thesis statement
Christian should listen to secular music because it also conveys positive message and its positive sides
outweighs its negative sides.
These days, secular music seems to have a greater influence on many people s lives than Christian
music. Secular music can be very entertaining. There are many secular songs that have catchy
melodies, thoughtful insights, and positive messages. However, my friend has just attended a seminar
that said secular music id from the devil. Yet, I have not found the evidence of this anywhere in the
Bible. In determining whether Christian should listen to secular music. I personally believe that
Christian should listen to secular music, because it also conveys positive message and its positive
sides outweighs its negative sides. Here we are going to discuss some explanation about this topic.
According to listen to the secular music, (Denora, 2012) Christian reviews of the arts would do well to
distinguish between content and composition. You can just appreciate it, just enjoy it and thank the
Lord for it. Thank the Lord for gracing the artists with the ability and creativity to craft that song.

It might be hard to find the purpose of it and often times we ignore about this. Secular music, on the
other hand, was composed solely for its entertainment value, whether for dance or to express love.
Delahoyde says that Secular music in the Middle Ages included love songs, political satire, dances,
and dramatically works, but also moral subjects, even religious but just not for church use. Non
liturgical pieces such as love songs to the Virgin Mary would be considered secular. Most secular
music was syllabic and had a narrow range. Rhythms are largely unknown, and probably slight
improvisation, at least for decoration, was common (Delahoyde,

4. Familial Expectations In Amy Tan s Two Kinds
Familial expectations hold a significant impact on the development of an individual s outlook on life.
In some cultures, such as Asians, children are enforced with strict standards from their parents. These
children are expected to be outstanding in every aspect of society, such as educational and behavior
wise. To put it simply, the children are expected to be perfect puppets, mindless dolls that only listen
to their puppeteer, the parents. These expectations define an individual s perspective, personal
concepts, and standards on oneself as well as the world. To demonstrate, in Two Kinds by Amy Tan,
the mother continuously tries to impose on her daughter rigorous standards to achieve, standards she
inherit from the older generations. Chinese

5. The Role Of Spna As A Cell Wall
Figure 1: Kaplan Meier survival curves of wax worms infected with labelled dose (CFUs) of GAS
SpnA variants over 3 days **** P 0.05 (One way ANOVA) A methyl green assay allows quantification
of DNAse activity by measuring the change in absorbance as the methyl green DNA complex is
degraded (Sinicropi et al. 1994). The SpnA knockout had significantly lower DNAse function than
wildtype GAS whilst the non functional complements showed similar activity to the knockouts and
the functional complements showed an intermediate function in between that of the knockout and that
of the wildtype (Fig. 5) All strains showed higher activity than buffer alone (Fig. 5). Discussion
Previous experiments have characterised the role of SpnA as a cell wall anchored DNAse important
for immune evasion through the destruction of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) (Buchanan et al.
2006). While small scale in vivo experiments in mice have been conducted (Hasegawa et al. 2010), a
Galleria mellonella infection model allows for a larger scale screening of mutants to further refine the
role of SpnA in GAS virulence. This is due to the lower cost, easy maintenance, small size and
suitability of the wax worm (Ramarao et al. 2012). In the above experiments, the role of SpnA in GAS
virulence was clearly demonstrated by the significant difference in killing and the health index of the
caterpillars between wild type and ΔSpnA. They also revealed that complementation with cell wall
bound SpnA on a plasmid

Although the company is known for their coffee, they also drive a great portion of their revenue from
baked good sales, which differs greatly from the Keurig Green Mountain strategy. Dunkin does
compete against Dunkin intensely in the New England market, as both companies were founded and
based in the area.
B. Value Chain Analysis The Keurig Green Mountain Inc. value chain has seven main steps.
Step 1. Cultivation
Farm management techniques can affect coffee cultivation. Water irrigation isn t used often in the
coffee cultivation because much of the water needed for coffee growing comes from rainfall. Step 2.
7. Packaging Shipping After coffee is harvested, it must be dried, packaged in sacks, and transported.
During this stage, energy is sued for drying, storing, and mechanically hulling the coffee beans. This
stage of the value chain also includes transportation of green coffee beans to facilities. Step 3.
Processing Once green coffee beans arrive at facilities, they are roasted and grinded for packaging.
There is an established infrastructure to track the energy use of the roasting operations in a new way,
providing data that is more useful for managing energy efficiency. Step 4. Packaging After the coffee
is roasted it is packaged. This stage of the value chain includes the physical packaging of the roasted

One important area of the brain that some would say is very important, would be Broca s area. Broca s
area is a functionally defined structure in the elft frontal lobe of most humans. It is involved mainly in
producing speech, writing, and also in language processing and comprehension. This part of the brain
would be stimulated when a certain group of friends ask you to come over for pizza and thoughout the
night when the individuals are communicating. Without this portion of the brain functioning as it
should, one would not be able to communicate with others, the indivudal would understand everything
being said to them. However, when the indivual would go to speek, it would sound as if the indivual
was saying random words, making converstaion a excessivly harder. Another region of the brain that

The hippocampus is associated mainly with memory, in particualr long term meomry. When an
individual is with others, it is the hippocampus that allows the person to remember past memories of
the ones he or she is with. Being phoned by friends to come have pizza with them, activates the limbic

when compared to doing it by yourself, especially if you need to sell it within a short period of time.
They will help you and tell you what to do when it comes to preparing the home, like referring you to
a plumber or an electrician to have them come in and do a walk through to ensure everything is in
order.
They will also give you advice when it comes to whether or not you should stage the home, or just
leave it empty of furniture, if you currently do not have any in there. Your real estate agent will also
guide you through the selling price, meeting with potential buyers, going over the negotiation process,
and finalizing the sale. However, if you would like them to handle the meeting with buyers,
negotiations, and closing the deal, you can sit out of these parts completely.

Art Nouveau and Art Deco are two very distinct design movements, with very distinct elements, that

whichever way you view them there is no denying that the online realm has made such games more

stories that go along with the games. We have all heard the tall tales of players going all or nothing on

The problem is that some casinos and some games are more ruthless than others when it comes to
such. It all means that you should feel comfortable where you re playing and truly understand what
odds and risks lay in front of you.
While there is no denying the game itself and its features will determine how successful you, there are
several elements within yourself you need to consider before you play. Everyone signs up to an online
casino with a bankroll in mind, this means that you need to set your limits before you start wagering.
The easiest way to control your gambling is to set a loss border and a target winning amount . The loss
border relates to how much you can honestly accept to lose when gambling on the slots, while the
target winning amount relates to the amount of money you d be happy to walk way with. Calculate
both figures based of the odds and payouts of the game in question and do your best to stick within
these boundaries. Looking deeper into the games themselves and how they operate, you shouldn t play
under the premises that you are simply waiting on a payout. Online games don t charge up like the old
land based machines used to. Every spin is completely autonomous, which means is doesn t how
much money you plough into the game, the winning percentage will never change.
When it comes to fun, very little else can outdo the exhilaration and excitement of spinning the slots.

Alexi Taylor Monday, December 1, 2014 Dr. Gray Final Paper Fracking in the United States
Hydraulic fracking in the United States is a current environmental hazard that has to be addressed by
the American people and by the federal government. Fracking in America has opened up millions of
acres of lands that were once not economically viable to produce oil and gas. While the Bureau of land
Management has paved the way for hydraulic fracturing on public lands, there is a need for retaliation.
Fracking is a dirty method of extracting gases and oils at the price of numerous environmental, safety,
and health hazards. The environment is not a means of income when rather it is the capital for future
generations. Currently fracking is being disputed at state and federal levels. Farmers around the
country have been affected by this issue where fracking companies disturb the surrounding
environment to a point that nearby neighbors are affected so much where their drinking water
becomes contaminated and undrinkable. Who becomes responsible to support these everyday farmers
to contend against these well off oil fracking companies? In some cases these farmers don t have the
resources to win the legal disputes against these large fracking barons. Small family farms are

Tracy Griffin
Adulthood and Aging | PSY307 A01

Module 5 Assignment 1
In regards to cognitive psychology and the ways in which we define ourselves in terms of individuals,
is one of the biggest areas of interest. The area defines the process used in order to acquire, receive,
retain and store the information in which is received. During childhood our memory grows, and
through adulthood throughout until our middle age, where shortly after we begin to decline in
productivity. Initially, when a person grows and changes, their brain begins to change and their
cognitive functions worsen. One example being the way in which we appropriately word and express
things, begins to decline in fluency and accuracy. (American psychological association, 2006). Studies
have shown that the semantic and procedural memory declines the least, while that flashbulb memory
declines the most. The amount of large declination varies due to middle age sensitivity and the lack of
self efficiency. The memory initially declines based not on the lack of storage, but merely how they
retain and store that information which is being received. Naturally, this happens because the cortex
shrinks, leaving a serious lack of blood flow to the brain, and triggers that loss, which is naturally all
apart of the aging process. Some natural signs of normal age related memory loss can include the
occasional forgetfulness of where we placed something

The effects show greatly in their works when it s either literature, music or physical (drawn or

this would either be a mental high or pain relief. Uppers, a class of drugs, cause a significant

Following the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing, Rescorla invited Hill to New York, where he hired
him as a security consultant in order to assess the building s security. Although no arrests had yet been
made, Rescorla believed that the bomb had been planted by Muslims. Hill went undercover in several
mosques throughout New Jersey, showing up for morning prayers at dawn. He took on the character
of an anti American Muslim, in order to interview the other visitors to the mosques. He concluded that
the attack was likely planned by a radical imam at a mosque in New York or New Jersey. Followers of
Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a radical Muslim cleric based in Brooklyn, were subsequently convicted
of the bombing.
Rescorla gained much more credibility and authority after the bombing, which resulted in a change to
the culture of Morgan Stanley, which he believed should have moved out of the building because he
felt that the World Trade Center was still a very real target for terrorists. He recommended to his
superiors at Morgan Stanley that the company should leave their Manhattan office space, mentioning
that labor costs were lower in New Jersey and that the firm s employees and equipment would be safer
in a different building. However, this recommendation was not followed as the company s lease at the
World Trade Center was not up until 2006. Due to Rescorla s urging and persistence, all employees,

22. Analysis Of The Statue Of Marshal Ney In The Fog
The photo Statue of Marshal Ney in the Fog was taken by the famous artist Brassaï in 1932, one year
before the publishing of his book Paris de Nuit , a collection of night photographies of the French
capital, mostly representing empty gardens and streets in the rain and fog. The picture, featured in the
collection, is a clear example of his early artistic period, which coincides with his first approach to
photography itself.
In the scene we can see the main element, a monument representing the illustrious French military
commander Michel Ney (which gives the title to the entire work), positioned on the extreme left,
dominating the mid and upper third, while in the lower one it is possible to notice a round fence that
encircles the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undoubtedly, without that luminous minutia, the picture wouldn t have the same appeal. The photo is
generally soft, since it doesn t convey plenty of details (given the evident atmospheric disturbances)
but when focusing on the main physical components present in the scene, in particular, the intricate
decor on the fringe of the fence, it is possible to notice an unexpected sharpness, probably achieved
with more precision in post production. Because of that, the use of colours and lights appears to be
particularly relevant. The exploitation of hidden backlight sources in this night photography gives the
perception of a much stronger and dramatic contrast, enriching the smooth grayscale palette used for
the background. The boldly black silhouette stands out majestically in the dense grey mist, and the
letters of the sign appear with some sort of mystic grandeur, also acting as a key light point. It s
impossible not to focus on them and not to notice their evident difference, their belonging to different
worlds .The depiction of neon is also significant: this kind of light is blueish and extremely cold.
Consequently, it s the complete opposite of the typical warm light provided by lampposts, always used
to portray Paris by night to convey a sense of romanticism.
Moreover, the picture is not exactly frontal, as the angle of the fence suggests: this slight curvature
accentuates, even more, the

PROBLEMS AND ASPIRATIONS OF YOUTH AS HIGLIGHTED IN THE NOVELS OF CHETAN
BHAGAT INTRODUCTION: Trying hands on contemporary writing and then reigning over hearts of

Very few authors have managed to reach out to such a wide audience as Chetan Bhagat. There is
originality of content in his writings and when he writes people feel as if it is their story. He is a
phenomenon that has affected everybody, touched everybody s life. Indian Publishing shall now be

who answers the phone calls from clueless Americans about their cooking appliances, remarks, Every

Bhagat believes that India tends to have an academic and social revolution to prevent young people
simply regurgitating what they learn without thinking. He wants to convey this message across to the
Indian youth even if they don t get stratospheric marks, they are still entitled to a happy life; and it s
not the end of the world if they fail. He generally talks about youngsters worries, their anxieties and
all those things which preoccupy them, by means of his writings. His writing subjects include parental

Monsters have been the stars of entertainment for the horror industry. The word monster usually
connotes something wrong or evil; a freak of nature. Traditionally, monster narratives to depict the
monster a hideous creature that may produce fear or panic. However; can this still apply to present
day? Monsters have completely revolutionized. For example, Vampires have traditionally been
categorized as evil, seductive and alluring creatures of the night. They moved through the night,
hiding in shadows, and sleeping in coffins throughout the day. Yet, the modern vampire is far from
this. Just like Vampires, Zombies have also have steadily gone through a complete shift of social
compliance. In early monster narratives, zombies were traditionally reanimated corpse who were
under the control of a Voodoo master. In the past decade there has been a zombie boom; with zombies
being able to adapt to the social preference. Although vampires and zombies have changed in cinema
and literature since their very creation, the most dramatic changes have occurred through the late
twentieth century to modern day, mainly due to social tolerance and social anxiety.
In the late nineteenth century vampires started to evolve into to what is the modern day vampire.
Although they were still seen as evil , the vampires of the late twentieth century were no longer creepy
creatures that would crawl out of their coffins to seduce women and feed from their blood. This was
the start of a new period of

Am pretty sure my admiration for progressive rock concept albums started back when I started
seriously getting into collecting record albums. As a kid in my single digits, I had 45 s (singles) and

(1970). To my credit, I was never interested in what pop songs The Brady Bunch was putting out, but I

From hanging out with my friends, and sometimes their older siblings, I became exposed to more of
what they were playing on the FM radio stations, then the AM ones. Rock n Roll was my thing. To

that includes the story in written form, plus comic book illustrations. I would love to see this done like

26. Quantum Mechanics Essay
Quantum Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics is the science of subatomic particles and their behavior patterns that are observed
in nature. As the foundation of scientific knowledge approached the start of the twentieth century,
problems began to arise over the fact that classic physical ideas were not capable of explaining the
observed behavior of subatomic particles. In 1913, the Danish physicist Neils Bohr, proposed a
successful quantum model of the atom that began the process of a more defined understanding of its
subatomic particles. It was accepted in the early part of the twentieth century that light traveled as
both waves and particles. The reason light appears to act as a wave and particle is because we are

This observance is what Werner Heisenberg refereed to as the principle of uncertainty, which
commonly became known as Heisenberg s Uncertainty Principle. We have the illusion that position
and momentum can co exist in large objects whose inherent action is huge compared to subatomic
particles. Heisenberg realized that the uncertainty relations had profound implications. Heisenberg set
himself to the task of finding the new quantum mechanics to explain what his theories observed. He
relied on what can be observed, namely the light emitted and absorbed by the atoms. By July 1925,
Heisenberg wrote his answer in a paper. The basic idea of Heisenberg s paper was to get rid of the
orbits in atoms and to arrive at new mechanical equations. Heisenberg s approached focused mainly
on the particle nature of electrons. The mathematics Heisenberg used were tables commonly used for
multiplication of arrays of numbers mathematical objects known as matrices. Using the mathematics
of matrices, scientists had at last a new mechanics for calculating the quantum behavior of particles.
Heisenberg, and others showed that the new quantum mechanics could account for many of the
properties of atoms and atomic events.
Most physicists were slow to accept matrix mechanics because of its abstract nature. Erwin
Schrodinger came up with a mathematical equation which nicely described the wave nature of
electrons. Scientists gladly

allowing students to use such technologies as the internet, smart boards, smartphones and other

the moral, ethical, and industrial challenges of this discussion, one that continues to resonate among
educators today (Braundy, 2004). This discussion was about the development of free public schooling
for all students and if it was the future occupations or the education that was of most importance. Of
course Dewey felt as though it was the education was that important. Focusing on the current issues in

Since air bags are a standardized component within the final product, the slightest defect can wind up
affecting millions of vehicles. As safety is Takata s motto they should have better quality systems in
place that would minimize the number of defective standardized products given the sheer volume
produced. Takata ought to have taken a more diligent approach to the defects and addressed the public
s safety concerns sooner than six years after a death occurred as a result of their product. Furthermore,
Takata cited driver safety as the reason for its controversial refusal to comply with federal regulators
who want a national recall of its airbags. I believe that Takata was not prepared for a full scale recall
so they decided to pursue a more hands off approach which was truly not in their best interest.
Because Takata prolonged the recall investigation, they were faced with several penalties, fines and
fees and as a result of their lack of effort to correct the problem, company shares have fallen and
Takata is reporting a net loss. There is also the potential for Takata to lose some of their customers;
however, it is important to note that Takata is only one of three companies producing air bags. Due to
the minimal choices automakers have for suppliers with regards to air bags, it reasons that Takata
might not be concerned with their position in the supply chain as the automakers would not favor a
duopoly. It truly

30. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Search Engine Marketing...
You have a beautiful website up and running, and now you need to get it in front of people who are
interested in what you have to offer. The two big ways of doing this are search engine marketing
(SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO). They both have some advantages and disadvantages.
Defining our terms is typically a good place to start. Some see SEO as being one element within SEM,
which can include other elements such as paid search marketing. Lately, many see a clearer distinction
between the two. Search engine optimization is the process of optimizing all the elements on your
website and between your website and other sites in order to increase its rank in what s known as the
organic search results. When discussing search engine marketing, digital marketing professionals are
typically referring to the process of engaging in paid advertising on the search engines.
Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization is basically any action you do to your website that gets the search engines
to consider it to be a relevant search result to display when someone types in a search term in Google,
Bing or any other search engine. These actions, therefore, include optimizing the meta data and
content of your website for these keywords. Google also highly regards factors such as fast webpage
loading speeds, mobile friendly websites and the time a visitor spends on your website. This last factor
is why content marketing is important. Many of the latest Google algorithm

Mary affect the Comanches. He kills off the Laughing Man leaving the Comanches distraught. The
Chief strips away their innocence and reveals being an adult is not without hardships. The Chief makes
a poor choice in the heat of the moment and does not think about his actions causing harm to the boys.
At the end of the story, Chief loses control of his emotions, and Salinger suggests that grown ups have
a responsibility to remain composed and to shield young children from adult turmoil. Initially, the
Comanches adore everything about the Chief; therefore, he has to protect them. Being with the Chief
almost everyday of the week, the Comanches depend on him for a lot. Remembering an outing one
day, the narrator says, I just sat down ... , semi confident the Chief would find me. The Chief always

32. Traditional And Modern Medicine
Several treatment methods have been used by humans for cure diseases over the centuries. Two of the
treatment methods are traditional medicine and modern medicine. In fact, these two types of treatment
methods share the same objective from different approaches. Traditional medicine can be defined as
health practices based on the use of plants, plants extracts and animals. It is a theory with a non
scientific approach used to treat illness in the contrary of modern medicine which is a health practices
based on the use of pharmaceutical drugs. It is a scientific approach used to diagnose, prevent and
treat illness. Although traditional and modern medicine are similar in some ways, the differ in cost,
side effects and availability.
Traditional and modern medicine share the same curative objective which implies that they have
similarities from a general point of view. Both medicine is using plants extracts but in different
aspects. Though traditional medicine is based on the use of plants and herbs, modern medicine uses
many herbs and plant derivative based on biological and chemical aspect as well. Many common
drugs are derived from plant based sources directly or indirectly. Moreover, traditional and modern
medicine have both side effects. They could be harmful or ineffective for a human body if the dosage
is not well calculated, in this case we run the risk of over or under dose. Also, many side effects can
occur from the interaction of both medicine. Traditional and

Alien species on the humber watersheds are a major ecological issue for the environment because they
prevent other native species from living/growing in their natural habitat. Alien species do this by
taking up physical space that native species need , preventing native species from reaching their food
and water and spreading disease. The humber watershed is affected in two different ways: native
species and the overall ecosystem of the watershed. invasive species on the humber watersheds have a
major threat to the biodiversity of our waters, wetlands, and marshes. These organisms that originate
from different ecosystems pose a great threat to our ecosystem because coming to our ecosystem their
natural predators can no longer keep the population s growth rate under control and that causes an
increase in population because of that devastating effects on native species, habitats, and ecosystems
may occur. There are reports that over 185 non indigenous species were found Ontario s Great lakes.
