Speaking is a skill of the oral mode
productively. Speaking is the delivery of
language through the mouth.






Speech is the vocalized form of human communication
Speech production takes places in real time and it is
linear, i.e. utterance by utterance.
Planning is severly limited, therefore, it is the hardest
of all four skills.
Grammatical

Speaking is the art of communication or is a
productive skill. Good speaking skill is the act
of generating words that can be understood by
listener. A good speaker is clear and
informative.




According to Oxford dictionary of current
English
“Speaking is the action of conveying
information or express ones thoughts and
feeling in spoken language.
Elements of speaking skill
“ We are ever liable to forget
that language is first and
foremost a spoken thing, not
written thing. Its appeal is to
the ear, not the eye.”

Step 1: Clarify your objective.
Step 2: Analyze your audience.
Step 3: Collect and organize your
information.
Step 4: Choose your visual aids.
Step 5: Prepare your notes.
Step 6: Practice your delivery.









Don’t hide behind the lectern or your notes.
Make eye contact.
Make gestures for emphasis.
Pay attention to volume, pitch
and speed of your voice

correct sounds, stress, intonation,
rhythm, fluency, and pause.
To cultivate the audible and intelligible
pronunciation.
To develop the habit of speaking long
sentences clearly.
To develop good speech manners.
To express the idea, thoughts, facts and
feelings.
In this method teacher
present a good model of
speech and ask the
student to intimate them.
This method is based on scientific
principles of phonetics. Here
teacher imparts knowledge of 45
vowels and consonant sounds of 26
English letters, of speech organs,
and rules of producing sounds.








  • 4. Speaking is a skill of the oral mode productively. Speaking is the delivery of language through the mouth.

  • 6.    Speech is the vocalized form of human communication Speech production takes places in real time and it is linear, i.e. utterance by utterance. Planning is severly limited, therefore, it is the hardest of all four skills.
  • 8. DEFFINATION  Speaking is the art of communication or is a productive skill. Good speaking skill is the act of generating words that can be understood by listener. A good speaker is clear and informative.
  • 9.   According to Oxford dictionary of current English “Speaking is the action of conveying information or express ones thoughts and feeling in spoken language.
  • 11. “ We are ever liable to forget that language is first and foremost a spoken thing, not written thing. Its appeal is to the ear, not the eye.” - Dr. B.B. Ballard
  • 12.       Be thankful you aren’t speaking with a mouthful of stones. Step 1: Clarify your objective. Step 2: Analyze your audience. Step 3: Collect and organize your information. Step 4: Choose your visual aids. Step 5: Prepare your notes. Step 6: Practice your delivery.
  • 13.       Don’t hide behind the lectern or your notes. Make eye contact. Make gestures for emphasis. Pay attention to volume, pitch and speed of your voice Enunciate clearly Consider your appearance: dress for success.
  • 14. Use PREParation  [P] Point of view.  [R] Reasons.  [E] Evidence of examples.  [P] Point of view restated. Okay, here goes! No notes and working without a net!
  • 15.      To cultivate the habit of speaking with correct sounds, stress, intonation, rhythm, fluency, and pause. To cultivate the audible and intelligible pronunciation. To develop the habit of speaking long sentences clearly. To develop good speech manners. To express the idea, thoughts, facts and feelings.

  • 18. This method is based on scientific principles of phonetics. Here teacher imparts knowledge of 45 vowels and consonant sounds of 26 English letters, of speech organs, and rules of producing sounds.

  • 21. ☻Various activities like debates, language games, dramatization etc. provide opportunities for speaking ability. ☻Teacher should present a contrast between sounds of language . Pupil should be made aware of the difference in stress and intonation patterns of two language.
