Dr Girisha Lakhiani graduated from Murdoch University in 2004 with a Bsc
BVMS(Hons) degree. She worked in Perth, Western Australia for 3 years in a
predominantly small animal practice with occasional farm animals and
exotics. The practice policy was to look after every animal with love,
compassion an kindness and every effort was made to foster and rehome
abandoned animals. These core values are the foundation of her care. She
strongly believes that each animal is different so tailoring her approach to
each pet is essential. She believes in a holistic approach where the best
medical care is combined with the greatest effort to keep the patient
happy and content and in a stress-free environment. She returned home
to Singapore in 2008 and has been practicing here for 7 years. She has an
interest in internal medicine and has completed a post graduate study in
feline medicine with the University of Sydney in 2011. She enjoys soft
tissue surgery and dermatology. With the growing population of aging
dogs and cats, (lost her dog to old age last year after 17 years) she is keen
to provide services that can optimize comfort and quality of life for this
tier.
She has three cats, Tigger, Theodore and Ralphie, that were adopted as
kittens in Perth and has recently adopted Lola, an 8 month old naughty
little chocolate labrador puppy.

worked his way up from the lowest level in the F&B line
at Hyatt Hotel. With his past achievements, he is
currently the Assistant Director for F&B at the same the

5. Ms Gigi Tan [Head of Business Development for Asia Pacific, NEX Data]
She is responsible for product development as well as sales for the Asia region including Japan.
She holds a Business Management (Hrs) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University,
Philippines. Gigi has worked in financial services for most of her career, and has a wide range
of expertise in business strategies, sales, marketing, product management, and content gained
from roles throughout Asia. Prior to joining the Fixed Income division as content specialist,
she held various posts within Thomson Reuters as Global head for Fixed Income Charting
(2007) and Global Product Manager for WebStation (2006). She was also the regional product

Gigi has held various sales and marketing positions including Regional Equities Marketing
Manager, Singapore (2000) and Head of Sales and Marketing, Indonesia (1998) for Bridge
Information Systems. She was also head of Sales and Marketing for Bloomberg LP, Indonesia
and Fixed Income Sales Manager for Bloomberg Singapore (1996).
Her exposure to fixed income started at Equitable PCI Bank, Manila where she was the Chief
Dealer – Emerging Markets Treasury Asset Trading Unit (1994) trading primarily Brady and
Eurobonds.
Amongst her other credentials, she also specializes in Credit Default Swaps, and was the chief
architect of the Markit CDS data on-boarding (the market’s premier source of CDS data) on
Thomson Reuters in 2006, and has been involved with major market data changes including
the April 2009 CDS Big Bang Protocol and the Dec 2010 Small Bang Protocol. She was key in the
data on-boarding for the China Risk Mitigation Instruments (China’s CDS-like credit
instruments), providing not only the depth of content on Thomson Reuters platform, but also
in providing China’s major financial institutions and regulatory bodies with the necessary
training and background on international CDS market practices to pin down and establish local
market standards.

moved to Singapore in July 1995 to work for Yokogawa as a
Control System Engineer. Yokogawa is a global Japanese company
dealing with Industrial Automation Business for Process Plants.
Some of their clients are from Oil & Gas companies (Shell,
Chevron, BP), Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Power Plant, etc.
He has been working in this company for than 20 years now.
8. Mr Christopher C Datugan [Senior Video Editor)
Mr Christopher has been a video editor for 20 years,
working mostly for Advertising and Film. His job is
both technical and creative and his skills are being
nutured through vast experience and constant
learning. One of his main task is to translate the vision
of the filmmaker into editing to achieve the best
storytelling possible.He worked closely with award
winning directors like Eric Khoo, Royston Tan to name
a few and proudly been part of the film "7 Letters"
which was featured here in Singapore and also various

Jezer Goh graduated from Ngee Ann Secondary
School in 2006. After graduating from the National
University of Singapore in 2015, he was called to the
Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2016.
He is currently practising as a litigation lawyer at a
medium-sized Singapore law firm, and spends most
of his waking hours during the weekdays in the office

reading and traveling.
15. Mr Azfar Hashim [Magazine Editor]
Azfar Hashim is a 15-year veteran in his field of journalism. His area of
specialty is the automotive industry - he reports on the latest
automotive-related news to reach our shore. Besides reporting, he also
reviews the latest cars to enter Singapore’s market; this aspect of his job
also saw him travel overseas within this region and also around Europe to
test-drive the newest cars freshly produced by manufacturers such as
Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Lamborghini and Porsche. Another enjoyable part
of his job? To get the chance to sit down and have conversations with
auto company's executives and head honchos, trying to squeeze the
latest out of them - unfortunately, most of the info he gets had to remain
'private and confidential'...
Away from his exciting daily job, he enjoys time exploring the back roads
of Malaysia. Driving is his solace.

Mr Carlin Lee holds a Masters in Applied Psychology and
is an experienced educator in the field of psychology.
Out of his 16 years of working experience, he has spent
his last 8 years educating and counselling students of
various disciplines in the tertiary level. He also writes
and manages a popular local psychology blog, providing
extensive information on navigating one’s psychological
training journey, which also helped a lot of psychology
students in the last 7 years. Carlin is also certified in
career developmental facilitation, and has been serving
Singapore Psychological Society as the current Chair of
Public Education.
17. Mr Aizat Omar (Senior Software Engineer)
Aizat Omar is a Senior Software Engineer in SP Digital Team. He is
known to help many startups in Singapore prior to joining SP Digital
Team and was nicknamed "iOS Guru". He mainly works on iOS apps.
That is creating apps for iPhones and iPads.
Besides work, he is also an admin of the "iOS Dev Scout" group in
Singapore. This group holds monthly meetups and yearly
conferences for iOS developers in Singapore.
Last year, Skills Future mentioned him as one of their success
stories. He is here today to share with you why coding is equally
important and fun! He hopes that students will be inspired to pick
up coding as one of their skills.
18. Ms Joey Khaw (Design Director)
Joey Khaw is a retail experience designer, a graphic designer by
training,and fell into the world of retail design after graduating
from a Degree in Design. Being in the industry for 5 years has
taught her that the face of retail is ever changing, it is more
compelling now than ever before as the line between online and
offline retail blurs. More than common sense and pure aesthetic –
it’s shopper psychology, story telling and creating desire.
19. Ms Gay Min Hui (Senior Engineer - Aviation)
An engineer by training, with 12 years of experience in the aviation
industry albeit with a passion in helping others through
empowerment. Her aviation journey has allowed her to experience
work with MNCs, SMEs and even explore career possibilities in the
public sector. Finding meaning in what she does is extremely
important, which gives her great pleasure and motivation to do
such sharing sessions with students and even people from all walks
of life.
20. Mr Asyraf Kamil (Journalist)
Asyraf Kamil graduated from Ngee Ann Secondary School in 2008. He went
on to Meridian Junior College before earning his bachelor’s degree from
the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang
Technological University.
During his time in university, Asyraf interned at TODAY newspaper and was
offered a position as a journalist at TODAY's online division upon his
graduation.
In his free time, Asyraf enjoys reading and photography. He might also be
the last millennial to pen his thoughts in a journal.
