Dr. James O'Toole is an acclaimed expert on leadership and ethics. He is currently the Daniels
Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business.
Recently, he was named one of the "100 most influential people in business ethics" by the editors of
Ethisphere; one of "the top 100 thought leaders on leadership" by Leadership Excellence magazine; and
author of one of the "hundred most influential business articles" by the editors of Strategy+Business.
O'Toole is the author of sixteen books. His most recent books include are Creating the Good Life (2005),
Transparency (with Warren Bennis and Daniel Goleman, 2008) and Good Business (editor, with Don
Mayer, 2010). O'Toole received his Doctorate in Social Anthropology from Oxford University, where he
was a Rhodes Scholar. At the University of Southern California's business school he held the University
Associates' Chair of Management, served as Executive Director of the Leadership Institute, and editor
of New Management magazine.
Dr. Petra Platzer is Director of Integrative Development for the Genomic Medicine Institute and
Program Manager for The Serving Leader program at the Cleveland Clinic. Her responsibilities include
strategic planning, organizational development, and change management to deliver a high-performing,
effective and engaged department of researchers and clinical providers. Dr. Platzer is supporting the
Cleveland Clinic’s Serving Leader community to achieve the leadership’s desired cultural transformation
across the organization. Dr. Platzer holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology and genetics from Kent State
University. She was named “Forward Thinker–Woman of the Year” by Glamour magazine.
Mr. Sajen Aswani is a third-generation member of a family-owned enterprise, Tolaram Group. The
Singapore-based company, founded in 1948, is comprised of companies in several business sectors,
including the manufacturing of food, paper and textile, marketing and distribution, financial services,
and real estate development. It has operations in Indonesia, India, Nigeria, Ghana, and Estonia as well
as Singapore. Mr. Aswani was appointed CEO of Tolaram Group in 2000. He has more than twenty-five
years of experience in managing and developing industrial and trading operations in Asia, Europe and
the African Continent. In addition to his role as CEO, he is a member of the Resource Panel, SINDA; a
member of the Board of Directors of Family Business Network-Asia; an Advisor to the Business Families
Foundation; and a member of the Nanyang Business School Industry Advisory Council. He holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from University College, London, and a Masters Management
Science from Imperial College, London.
Dr. Mary Ann Tsao is the President and Founding Director of the Tsao Foundation, a Singapore-based
but regionally oriented non-profit foundation dedicated to the care of the aged and ageing issues. Mary
Ann has served on numerous policy committees in Singapore, including the Economic Review
Committee’s Sub-Committee on the impact of economic restructuring, and the Committee on Ageing
Issues. She also serves on numerous boards and management committees, such as SingHealth
Foundation and the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Center. For her work on ageing in Singapore,
she recived the Public Service Medal in 2000 and Public Service Star in 2004.

Our Concurrent Workshop Speakers
Ms. Anita Yap will lead a workshop on “Introduction to Servant Leadership.”
Anita is the founder, principal coach and facilitator for Entheos. She started her career in the Ministry of Defence and
Media Development Authority in Public Relations, and later worked in private sector companies, Nelson Buchanan &
Oostergaard, Juliet McCully Speech Training Centre, and Modus Media International, as well as the Civil Service
College, where she was Manager of the Learning Design team. She is a Certified Professional Facilitator of the
International Association of Facilitators in the Technology of Participation™ methods.
Mr. Richard Hartung will present a workshop on “Changing Lanes, Changing Lives.”
Currently Managing Director of Transcarta, Richard works with financial institutions on payments strategy and
products. He also works as a freelance writer for the EFMA Journal, Today, gtnews and other publications The
workshop will include sharing by Francis Wong, CEO of the Centre for Non-Profit Leadership. Francis is one of the
individuals featured in a new book by Richard Hartung titled Changing Lanes, Changing Lives.
Dr. Tanvi Gautam will lead a workshop on “Corporate storytelling: An essential leadership capability.”
Dr. Gautam is Managing Partner of Global People Tree. She has shared her ideas on leadership, women, and managing
the new work place with audiences in Asia, Australia, and the United States and in prominent publications such as
Forbes (USA), Singapore Business Review, Straits Times, Economic Times (India), and People Matters (India). She is
currently an adjunct Professor at the Singapore Management University’s Business School.
Dr. Low Guat Tin will facilitate a workshop titled “Enjoy Your Work.”
Dr. Low is a founding member of The Greenleaf Centre for Servant-Leadership (Asia). She was an Associate Professor
at the National Institute of Education, NTU. She retired in 2011 and is currently active as a speaker and consultant.
When she was teaching at the National Institute of Singapore, she won many excellence in teaching awards.
Dr. Zsuzsanna Tungli will lead a workshop on “Developing globally competent and responsible leaders.”
Zsuzsanna is a senior consultant, trainer, coach and university lecturer in the areas of developing global leaders,
international teams, individual and company-wide cross-cultural competency and global mobility. She has designed
and delivered company-specific executive development programs for senior as well as middle managers for the past
20 years in Europe and Asia. Her clients include Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Daimler Financial Services, Lego, Sandoz,
SwissRe, Oracle, McKinsey and SingTel.
Dr. Kent M. Keith will lead a workshop on “The Ethical Foundations of Servant Leadership.”
Dr. Keith is the Chief Executive Officer of the Greenleaf Centre for Servant Leadership (Asia) and President Emeritus of
the Greenleaf Center in the United States. During his career he has been an attorney, state government official, high
tech park developer, university president, and YMCA executive. He is the author of three books on servant leadership:
The Case for Servant Leadership; Servant Leadership in the Boardroom: Fulfilling the Public Trust, and Questions and
Answers about Servant Leadership.
Mr. Arul John Peter will lead a workshop on “Unleashing the Power of Creativity in the Workplace.”
Peter manages the Centre for Creative Thinking in Singapore. After fifteen years in the civil service, he joined an
International Trade Secretariat as a Project Officer. During that time, he handled labour and management-‐related
training in Asian-‐Pacific countries. Peter has wide experience with management development activities through the
Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and the Singapore National Employers Federation.
In addition to her plenary presentation, Dr. Petra Platzer will lead a workshop on
"Serving Leader Learning Labs for Successful Change.”
