Texas V. Johnson. The Case Texas V. Johnson Happened In
Texas v. Johnson The case Texas v. Johnson happened in 1984, Gregory Lee Johnson burned an
American flag to protest President Ronald Reagan in front of the convention center in Dallas,
Texas. He was a member of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade (Texas v. Johnson in
1989: Summary, Decision Significance, Stephen Benz). During the 1984 Republican National
Convention, he participated in a political demonstration. The demonstrators were protesting the
policies of the Reagan Administration. While they were marching through the streets, another
demonstrator handed Johnson an American flag. Johnson set the flag on fire when they reached
Dallas City Hall, where the Convention was held. After their protest, Johnson was arrested and...

Brenna. It indicated that the Court agreed with Johnson that flag burning constitutes a form of
symbolic speech that is protected by the First Amendment. And the Court disagreed with Texas
argument that Johnson s action breaches of the peace. What s more, it emphasized that the state
may not discriminate upon different view point. Justice John Paul Steven also wrote a dissenting
opinion, arguing the national flag is a valuable asset, and Johnson s action belittled the value of
this important national symbol (Texas v. Johnson, LII / Legal Information Institute). This case did
not change or add any amendments, but the first amendment played a big role in it. The First
Amendment guarantees the rights of free expression and action that are fundamental to
democratic government, These rights include freedom of assembly, freedom of the press,
freedom of religion, and freedom of speech (First Amendment, Dictionary.com). It protects
people s freedom of speech, and emphasize the right of symbolic speech as well, This case
remains relevant today, and it is still a controversial issue. Because under the first amendment,
people have the freedom of speech. The Court supports the flag burning is the same as other legal
forms of symbolic speech, such as sit ins and wearing armbands. After this case, several laws and
statutes had been brought up to make desecrating the flag a federal crime; but ultimately, all of
them were stuck down. Most recently,

Speech On Love It Is The Most Important
In The Symposium Diotima s speech on love it is the most important, therefore she should be the
last speech to help impact the overall meaning. Although, she actually is not the last speech,
Alcibiades is. This leads to questioning over why Alcibiades is at the end if the speech is just
drunken madness. Diotima s speech focuses on loveand places important emphasis on the idea of
beauty pertaining to love. She also focuses on the way a boy and a man s relationship are
centered around love because of the mentorship that they obtain with each other. It does not make
sense in a book about love to have the ending be Alcibiades drunk confessing his love for Socrates
.Bataille has led me to the belief that it does make sense for Alcibiades to be the end of the
Symposiumbecause of the objective for humans to reach continuity through a drunken state of
being. After reading Erotism, Diotima cannot be the final speech in The Symposium.
Diotima could often be read as the most important speech in The Symposium, therefore she
should be the last speech because her speech is based around the conception of love. Socrates
begins to question Diotima about what love actually is. She says: I think that s why love struck
you as beautiful in every way: because it is what is really beautiful and graceful that deserves to
be loved, and this is perfect and highly blessed; but being a lover takes a different form which I
have just described. When someone loves something beautiful, they long for

The Laws Of Motion And Bouncing Balls
Ali Abdoussi 9/23/14
Prussing School104/7th The Laws of Motion and Bouncing Balls
Welcome to The Laws of Motion and Bouncing Balls. This paper will be talking about how the
laws of motion play into how high a ball bounces. Sir Isaac Newton a man that lived in the 17th
century. During his life time he discovered many laws such as the laws of gravity, and the laws
of motion. There are three laws of motion: Inertia which means an objects motion will remain the
same unless an external force is applied to it. The second law is the law of force which is the
most powerful of the three laws this means that when you multiply the objects mass and
acceleration you will find the amount of force an object has. The final law is the law of
Reciprocity which translates into there is an equal and opposite reaction for every action. Now
that we know the laws of motion the paper will explain how the laws of motion play into the
height a ball bounces on different surfaces. In the first law of motion. Isaac Newton one said An
object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion at the same speed and
in the same direction, unless it is acted upon by a force. Have you ever wondered why a ball rolls
farther on solid surfaces rather than on soft padded surfaces such as grass and carpet?

A Few Good Men
A Few Good Men is a 1992 American drama film directed by Rob Reiner and starring Tom
Cruise, Jack Nicholson, and Demi Moore. It was adapted for the screen by Aaron Sorkin from his
play of the same name. A courtroom drama, the film revolves around the court martial of two U.S.
Marinescharged with the murder of a fellow Marineand the tribulations of their lawyer as he
prepares a case to defend his clients.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Daniel Danny Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is an inexperienced U.S. Navy
Judge Advocate General s Corps lawyer who leads the defense in the court martial of two U.S.

In the course of the trial, it is established that code reds are standard in Guantanamo Bay as a
means of enforcing discipline and getting sloppy Marines to follow procedure. Kaffee especially
goes after Kendrick, particularly over the fact that he denied Dawson a promotion after the latter
helped out a fellow Marine who was under what could be seen as a code red.
Lieutenant Colonel Markinson has gone absent without leave since the incident, but he resurfaces
in Kaffee s car during the trial, revealing that Jessep never intended to transfer Santiago off the
base as previously claimed but created the transfer orders as part of a cover up long after Santiago
s death. Kaffee is unable to find evidence corroborating these claims and announces his intention to
have Markinson testify. Rather than publicly dishonor himself and the Marine Corps, Markinson
sends a letter to Santiago s parents, blaming his own weakness for the loss of their son, outfits
himself in full Dress Blue A uniform and commits suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with his
service pistol. Without Markinson s crucial testimony, Kaffee believes that the case is lost and
returns home after a drunken stupor, having come to regret that he fought the case instead of
considering the plea bargain.
Galloway, however, convinces Kaffee to take the great risk of calling Colonel Jessep as a

The Evil Force In Beowulf
In the darkness of time, there will come a time in someone s life that might refer to an evil force.
Whether it was a bad day, an upset parent or a person of political power. In Beowulf the warriors
had to overcome a very large force of evil that seems to put an extravagant tole on the town and
the way that they prosper in life everyday. As the monster of the town decides to overturn his
trust with beowulf s father and break the peace offering, he murders numerous of innocent
people. Lying dead and motionless, the town goes up in flames, there was no fire but they were
flames of fear. In the towns distress, people began to lose hope and prosperity. The townsmen
eventually felt hopeless, a destructive force of evil was tearing their friends and family limb by
limb, vein by vein. The monster had no sympathy for what he was doing. Before this evil force
came up from the depth of evil, everything was so perfect for everyone. There never seemed to
be any dramatic issues, but that all came to a close. So times were pleasant for the people there
until finally one, a fiend out of hell, began to work his evil in the world. (Beowulf 99 101). All
he cared about what was his next meal going to be. Coming in the far sight of the deep ocean
came a hero that was so long waited for. As it stated in the first few sentences In the end each clan
on the outlying coasts beyond the whale road had to yield to him and began to pay tribute. That
was one good king (Beowulf 9 11). The town of the

Essay about The Life of Bob Marley
The Life of Bob Marley
While reading Catch a Fire I discovered many things about Bob Marley and his spiritual influence
on the world. Not only just making records, Marley spoke to his people through his songs and took
advantage of the opportunities given to him as a musician.
Born on February 6, 1945, Robert Nesta Marley grew up in a small village in Jamaica called Nine
Miles, where he would shape his personality and early beliefs. His father Norval Marley, a white
Jamaican and a Captain in the Army, would also become inspirational to young Bob. When Bob
was only 16 he produced his first record in Kingston, and in 1963 the original Wailers were formed,
a group consisting of Bob Marley, Bunny ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He found Aston an accomplished bass player, Carlton to play the drums and he brought in a trio
of female back up vocalists called the I Threes, one of whom would eventually become his wife
Rita.
In Jamaica at the time Bob was viewed as a mystic and prophet, and was becoming the symbol
for a nation. Seeking re election the Prime Minister asked Bob Marley to stage a free concert on
the same day as the National election, trying to lock up the support of the Marley followers and in
turn the election. This move however resulted in an attempt to end Marley s life.
On the evening of December 3, a number of gunmen arrived at Bob s house on 56 Hope Road
and shot Bob, his wife Rita, and his manager. The gunmen were thought to be the henchmen of
the opposition leader Edward Seaga. Luckily nobody was killed and Bob went ahead with the
planned concert rebelliously appearing with his arm in a sling. The following year during a
massive European concert Bob Marley was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in his big toe, the
result of a neglected football injury.
Later in Jamaica, Bob once again received a request from the political leaders to perform a peace
concert in his native land. Not phased by earlier tragedy he agreed and assembled one of the
greatest concerts ever, the One Love peace concert. Here was where he made history when leaders
from the two opposition parties were persuaded to

Literary Devices In The Hunger Games And The Road
Oftentimes when reading books set in the middle of societal unrest or deterioration, we find the
characters struggling with difficult, and sometimes impossible, decisions. These types of decisions
delve into an individual s sense of humanity. At what point will their actions carry them over the
line they thought they would never cross? How do you preserve your humanity when everyone else
around you have compromised their own? In The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collinsand The Road
by Cormac McCarthythe theme of preserving your humanity amidst an inhumane society is carried
throughout the narration. The argument can be made that when leaders begin crossing the line and
losing the basic humanity of protecting life, society as a whole falls in line.
There are many different literary devices that are used in writing to enhance a theme or to carry
those themes throughout a storyline. In The Hunger Games and The Road, irony is used in
bringing attention to the theme of humanity and carrying it from beginning to the end of the
novels. It is used in writing to contrast between what is expected or understood and what actually
happens or is meant (Puchner i). In The Road, McCarthy uses irony to show the difference between
what we would expect from a humane perspective and how those left have fallen so far from those
expectations. One instance of this irony occurred when the father and son observed two men and a
pregnant woman traveling on the road. Later, when these travelers were

The Crisis Of The United States
The 2008 so called Great Recession was a time that was tough on a great deal of americans as well
as people all around of the world. The shock was the popping of the housing bubble. After the great
burst, the financial situation of the country began to spiral out of control. Unemployment
skyrocketed. Millions of Americans were laid off. The inflationrate plummeted to an extremely
unhealthy amount. This was strange because the United States had recently spent decades
working to lower inflation rate. They finally received what they wanted and much more. The
consumer price index also eventually crashed as well. A big reason for these crashes were
civilian reactions to the bursted housing bubbles. The United States took several actions to
recover from the crisis. They worked at lowering mortgage interest rates and also passed the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They also bailed out huge failing banks like AIG. We
took many actions that eventually paid off and pulled us out of the recession. The housing market
had raising prices that economists thought was just steady growth. However, once the prices
began to drop people grew fearful and stopped buying. This totally through the market off and it
crashed. The country from there financially spiraled out of control. The cause for this bubble and
the bursting of it can be attributed to banking that was irresponsible to say the least. Bankers were
handing out to mortgage loans to people with low income jobs and poor credit

Hypocritical Ageism In The United States
There are age restrictions on everything from buying lighters to purchasing alcoholic beverages.
There are restrictions on watching movies and donating plasma. These restrictions are meant to, in
a way, protect the younger people from making mistakes or being influences by things they don t
fully understand or could be harmed by. One of the most debated restrictions could possibly be the
Alcohol age restrictions. The legal age in the United Statesto consume and purchase alcohol is 21.
This age cutoff is quite unneeded. It becomes more of a temptation and a danger than if the
restriction were simply altered to a lower age.
In the United States, when a person becomes 18, they are no longer considered to be a minor. The
people are legally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There should be more government programs to educate and prevent people from driving
intoxicated. The Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA) survey found out that
by the time teenagers are seniors in high school, more than 80% of the teens admit to having
some experience with alcohol. Texas is a zero tolerance state for underage drinking; it has some
of the strictest penalties for underage drinking, and if 80% of the teenagers in Texas have had
experiences with alcohol then it is apparent that the campaigns against underage drinking, and zero
tolerance programs are not working. Teens are going to be tempted to drink alcohol at some point
of their lives. So instead of having these 18 year old legal adults restricted, the government should
spend their money to inform their people about safety when drinking instead of the severe
prevention of teens drinking.

The Causes Of The French Revolution And The French Revolution
The Iranian Revolution occured from 1977 1979, under the rule of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.
During this time, the Shah made the people very angry due to his actions as ruler. When this
revolution ended, it was a huge turning point in Iran.
The French Revolution began in 1789, due to enlightenment ideas, inspiration from other
revolutions, economic troubles, and religious injustice, among other things. This revolution was a
huge turning point in the history of France. Despite the Iranian Revolution taking place under one
leader, and the French revolution taking place under many, the causes of the Iranian revolution
compare to those of the french revolution, in terms of Religious ignorance, the gap between social
classes and the structure of how the revolution played out.
Throughout all of history, Islam has been the main religion of Iran. Religion is a A cultural

social groups Iran had.. During the Iranian Revolution, there ... existed no separation between a

Mortician Career Essay
Within the working force, I myself would like to enter into the career of Mortuary Science as a
Mortician. Morticians are people who prepare the bodies of the deceased for burial or
cremation. Morticians are actually needed in the work field, meaning with the proper
requirements and experience you re likely to find a job. This career requires a mass of
knowledge in which you will need to prepare for. There were frequent steps taken to compile
research on this career. Countless resources were available for me to perceive various types of

One day while I was at school, I decided to enter the library and scope out as many books there
were in my occupation. First, I went to the librarian, Mrs. Williams and asked if she could search
for books about Morticians, which lead me to nothing meaning I had to narrow my source. We
then changed the search for books about dead bodies and the people who dealt them and I
lucked up. In conclusion I came across three books. Ordinarily, I would proceed to gather the
books, but I assured myself that each would be profitable before collecting.. Due to the heaps of
research being needed, our teacher provided us with another source to help out ,eventually leading

Governmental Family Policy Essay
Governmental Family Policy
The modern working woman is struggling to balance work and family. The Second Wave of
feminism has pushed her into the workforce, promising its ideals of equality in wages and in the
home. However, many women find themselves in a world that devalues their work in home and in
the workplace. Our society has not yet caught up to the Third Wave of feminism, which attempts to
break down the traditional gender roles our constructions of work and family are based on. Many
are hoping that government intervention through work policies that reflect the demands of an
egalitarian family will be able to propel men and women out of the stalled revolution .
One must now address the question why the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That may explain why the government is avoiding a proactive role, but another question must be
addressed as to why our society is looking to the government for a solution to the modern gender
dilemma. The government does not have a good track record when it comes to representing the
historically oppressed. The government has helped support the patriarchy that exists in our
workforce today and still stands to benefit from it.
Why would the government attempt to break down our traditional bread winner society?
If anything, the government benefits the most from this construction. As long as the value of work
relies on dedication and long hours, the United States will continue to have the hardest working
labor force in the world. This is a bad situation for men, who are under pressure to maintain the
bread winner title and miss out on quality time with their family. This is a bad situation for women
working mothers especially who have to compete on the same level with men for less money, and
still bear most of the burden of the second shift.
But, this situation is by no means bad for the government, at least in their perspective. The less
equality women achieve in the workforce, the poorer they are compared to men, and society can
hold on to model of the traditional family

Researchers believe that this syndrome originally originated from chimpanzees as HIV and later
turned to AIDS somewhere along western Africa. Humans contracted the syndrome when they
hunted these animals and ate them. AIDS was first recognized in gay men from both New York
and California around the 1980s. Researchers and doctors labeled this sickness going around as
gay immune related deficiency but by 1985 they labeled the sickness as AIDS and realized it
was being found amongst both sexes and worldwide. By 1986, a successful treatment to control
HIV was found. It was a failed cancer drug called AZT and was later used for AIDS as well.
Doctors were giving AZT as well as a combination of other drugs to help control the disease, but it
only helped those who had money and access to the treatment. Within later years, the treatment and
control for both HIV and AIDS have widened but they now focus more on giving access to all
victims of this sickness. As of right now, according to WebMD Medical Reports, African Americans
hold the highest number of individuals infected with AIDS and HIV. African Americans have this
idea that only gay, Caucasian men have this sickness, but this is where they are wrong. They hold
the highest number because of the lifestyle they live. The African American community are

Joe Sacco s On Satire
How and why is a social group represented in a particular way?
The cartoonists are the main social group portrayed in the cartoon On Satire by Joe Sacco, which
is published in The Guardian. On Satire portrays other cartoonists as obnoxious, insensitive
cavemen who often cross the line between satire and just outright offensive mockery of the
religious beliefs of Muslims. The purpose of the cartoon is to ridicule the black and white way of
representation of all Muslims as terrorists. Also he is aiming to get cartoonists to convince
governments and news outlets to consider ways in which to stop terrorism by understanding why
terrorism exists instead of just eradicating all Muslims and hoping that terrorism dies with them.

They are attempting to appeal to Logos, the logical side in the readers, and Pathos, the
emotional side or more specifically ability to empathize, respectively. Many cartoonists make
satires and ironic cartoons that are meant to bring something important to the artists into public
knowledge, and some just want to poke fun at some habits or traditions of other cultures and
religion. However there are those who take it too far, which is where Logos comes in. Most
readers, at least the ones the cartoons are not ridiculing, find it very easy to just laugh off an
offensive joke, but as demonstrated by Sacco, it s very easy to cross the line between a harmless,
informative joke and a borderline cruel mockery of something that is important or sacred to others.
Pathos, on the other hand, is used to appeal to the emotional side of readers by asking them to
empathize with the Jews that have been persecuted, as some believe, for simply been more
successful during a time of high rates of unemployment. Sacco obviously wants us to see that in the
right context almost anything can be hurtful. The statement When we draw a line, we are often
crossing one too reinforces that

Immigration and Interprovincial Migration Within Canada...
Immigration
Immigration is very important to Canada and the Canadian government, and there are many people
that Immigrate to Canada each year. There are many reasons for why people want to move to
Canada, because this country offers multiple services and programs for people who need them, and
give them rights other countries don t.
A very important right is personal safety. In Canada, crime rates are low compared to many other
countries in the world. This is very important for people who come from countries where there is
war, and safety ended for them outside a room. In Canada, people are free to go wherever they
please without having to worry if they are being followed or not.
Another reason people move to Canada are for social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were at least 50,000 foreign born students in school in 2012, and about 25% of students in
large cities were immigrants who came to Canada specifically for education (according to
Statistics Canada). An example of when people moved to Canada for religious and cultural
freedom was at the time of the Underground Railroad. Before the American Civil War, African
Americans were kept as slaves and treated terribly in America. To find freedom, these people
moved to Canada using the Underground Railroad to start a new life and practice their own culture
instead of working for others. There were approximately 30,000 slaves who came to Canada at that
time.
Just as immigrants come from many different places in the world, they settle in different places
in Canada. Most Immigrants tend to settle in cities, either in Ontario or British Columbia. The
simple reason why people settle in cities is because it is easier. Support systems available in
cities help immigrants settle in and adapt more comfortably to their new home. For example, there
are English and French classes offered to the people who cannot speak Canada s official
languages, so they feel more comfortable when interacting with other people. Another reason why
people move to these provinces is because of economy. Ontario and British Columbia both have
good economies and a variety of companies that people can work for. This helps immigrants to
support their families (something most people

Bernice Bobs Her Hair Essay
amp;#8220;Bernice Bobs Her Hair ;
Have you ever at one time or another felt like an outsider? Many people do, trying desperately to
fit in with their social counterparts. Whether it be in school, at work, or life in general, many
yearn to be accepted by their peers and feel as though they are a part of some sort of
amp;#8220;club ; that is viewed by others as the amp;#8220;in ; crowed. F. Scott Fitzgeraldtries to
express this turmoil with the short story amp;#8220;Bernice Bob amp;#8217;s Her Hair ;. He
attempts to show the inner workings of the popular youth and the means in which one can
successfully enter it. By creating the distinct characters of Marjorie, Bernice and Warren, one can

It seemed Bernice had amp;#8220;stolen private property ; which allegedly belonged to Marjorie
(1). Sometime being popular will make one more territorial and suspicious of others which might
hurt them in the long run.
Without Marjorie amp;#8217;s guidance, however, Bernice would have stayed the naГЇve and shy,
thus keeping her from being accepted by the popular crowd. It was evident in the very beginning
of the story that she was uncomfortable in social situations. When Warren asked her if she would
like to dance at the party, she immediately told him that is was too crowded to dance and when
asked to go out to the veranda, she muttered that it was too hot and proceeded to stand there. It
seems that Bernice, being a poor conversationalist, feels too uncomfortable being with others. In a
group Bernice is more likely to be stay inconspicuous and just listen rather that beginning or
entering a conversation.
Another example of her shy persona was when Warren and Bernice sat down on the veranda. It
was apparent she was very nervous about the situation; her knees were pressed together so tightly
one could have cracked a nut between them. Bernice is also very naГЇve and Marjorie took full
advantage of that. Her innocence led her to believe that Marjorie could make all her dreams come
true, question nothing, and following all orders from her. This is apparent at the dinner table when
she announced that she was going to bob her hair in the near

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Thyroid Nodule Essay
Introduction
A thyroid nodule is a discrete lesion within the thyroid gland that is distinguishable from the
adjacent parenchyma. Sonographic examination of enlarged nodular thyroids, demonstrated that
66% had multiple nodules, whereas 34% had single nodules. Among these single nodules, 85% 90%
were proved to be benign. Adenomatous nodules represent most of benign thyroid nodules (80%),
whereas the remaining benign nodules consisted of adenoma, cyst, and focal thyroiditis (1).
The differentiation of single benign nodule and malignant one is considered an important goal.
Early diagnosis of thyroid cancer avoids unneeded surgery in those complaining of benign nodules
and decreases both mortality and morbidity rates of the disease (2). Although both fine needle
aspiration cytology (FNAC) and ultrasound are considered to be the most important tools in thyroid
nodules evaluation, uncertain diagnosis of the nodule even by experienced hands still remains a
problem and sometimes surgery has to be done for precise diagnosis. The percentage of
indeterminate nodules might be small, however a significant number of patients performed surgery
for benign disease (3); thus there is a need for a new noninvasive presurgical diagnostic test to avoid
unnecessary surgery (4). Routine T1 and T2 weighted MR imaging cannot differentiate benign
from malignant nodules or assess the functional status of thyroid nodules, thus its role in thyroid
nodules evaluation is limited (5).

Descriptive Essay About A Concert
It s hard to believe it was only two years ago. Two years ago that I saw my at the time favorite
country artist in concert. My mind was racing with thoughts before and after the show. I had so
much fun and I will never forget how happy I was and how much I appreciated my mama and step
dad for being able to do this for me because they knew I really wanted to go. My first concert,
seeing Keith Urbanis one I will never ever forget.
The drive to Summerfest was amazing. My step dad and my mama were playing a bunch of
Keith Urban songs, it was really loud, and everyone was screaming in the car. Before i knew it,
we were there. I was at Summerfest about to go enjoy my first concert. When we got there we had
to get our actual tickets before we could go in.
When we got in we got some drinks and then we went to our seats. We were in the red section
which is the closest section. We weren t in the first row though, and it didn t even matter, being
there was more than I could ve ever asked for. The first person to play before Keith Urban was a
group called Dan and Shay. We arrived a little late, so we didn t get to see them but, we did get to
see the next performer, Phillip Phillips.
Hearing Phillip Phillips perform wasn t as exciting as I thought it would be. Don t get me wrong, I
love him as an artist and his music is amazing, but I didn t find him playing life the greatest. I don t
remember much of it either. I remember one song that he performed and that was his song Gone

How he effected the world with his accomplishments
William Bill Gates III was born on October 28, 1955. He accomplished many unbelievable things,
and highly influenced the people around him in many ways. In University, Bill Gates was known
to be the smart computer nerd, who totally amazed all of his friends with his knowledge. One of the
people that he had influenced the most was Steve Ballmer, current Microsoft s Chief Executive
Officer, whose room was down the hall from Bill s. Not only were his roommates amazed by his

Microsoft s success in creating a positive change in the computer market is creating better
computer software than anyone else, says Time Magazine, Today Microsoft is the world s most
powerful supplier of Web browsers, and Gates really has it made. More importantly, Bill Gatesand
his wife, Melinda, founded a large charity foundation. Also, The Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation, with an endowment of more than $17 billion, is now the wealthiest in the United
States. Their approach was to make a change in needy children s lives, and try their best to give
them the stuff that they were lacking, such as: clothes, schooling, food, etc. Becoming the second
richest man in the world is one thing, however, giving back to the community what it has given to
you is even more remarkable. Bill Gates indeed is one of the most remarkable figures of the
century, because beside attempted to create a change in the middle and upper class lives, he is also
attempting to give an opportunity to the lower class children who have very little hope. The
products of Microsoft were not completely produced by Bill Gates, the genius himself. Although
Microsoft Windows was his idea, and he did a fair bit of it, many other intelligent programmers

of John Searle and Rene Descartes on dualism. John Searle and Rene Descartes views on
dualism both compare because they recognized mind and body as different parts, but they had
different views. John Searle s view were that physical and mental dualism may be two aspect that
become a single substance, He called this the supervenience theory. On the other hand, Rene
Descartes beliefs are that is composed of two different substances called substance dualism,
stating that the physical, the material essence was our body and mental, the immaterial essence;
our mind which was where our feelings and thoughts exist. He also claimed that the two

things that are real are ideas, which this is known as idealism. He also claimed that there is only
one infinite mind and that all real objects are nonphysical. However, Thomas Hobbes was quite the
opposite as he believed that only thing to exist is the body in motion. He stated that ideas, feelings,
and thoughts are physical entities occurring that is explained by motions in the brain. 3.Does the
materialist position imply a determinist position on the possibility of free will? Explain. The

The Fight Against Catheter Associated Urinary Tract...
Over the years, the nursing practice has developed mechanisms towards improving service delivery
through research and management training. The fight against Catheter Associated Urinary Tract
Infections (CAUTIs) is one area that continuously attracts a lot of concern in nursing. Indwelling
urinary catheters (IUC) have been the best option in addressing CAUTI (Wilde et al., 2013). But
this has resulted in more health risks and compromised service delivery among nurses, calling for
new ways to either upgrade the existing mechanisms or invent new methods over the same. As a
result, the American Nurses Association, in conjunction with St. Francis Hospital clinical nurse
specialists is working on a pilot program that is in the last stages of its review. The program
developed an evidence based tool to be used in catheterization. Its main focus is to determine how
health facilities can work together to improve the quality of service delivery through good
management, as well as evaluation of its implication on performance, training, and future nursing
practice (St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, 2016). As a result, this paper examines the
milestone achieved by St Francis Hospital towards quality improvement in catheterassociated
urinary tract contagions.
Literature Review The American Nurses Association and Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention indicate that CAUTI is the high prevalence healthcare associated infection variety;
hence it accounts for at least 30% of acute

Why Is Scarlet Fever Important In Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, scarlet fever played a role in the plot line. Scarlet
fever made an impact during the time Mary Shelley wrote the book. Scarlet fever is a disease
which causes a sore throat and a rash on skin. It is most common in children. It lead to the loss
of many due to the lack of medicine treatments. People would stay away from those contaminated
with the disease as it was contagious and hard to cure. The threat of Scarlet Fever has changed
because of the advancement of medicine. Victor s family members were contaminated with the
disease. Elizabeth had scarlet fever, but she recovered from it as it was a moderate case. Their
mom wanted to see her but everyone refused her visitation. She obeyed that demand until she found
out that Elizabeth was in the process of recovering. Therefore, she visited her when there was still a
chance for the disease to pass on. Due to this, their mother got infected with the disease which
ultimately lead her to death.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Giver Theme
Imagine being trapped in a community and everyone is the exact same. Imagine feeling not
special in anyway. Everybody wears the same clothes, rides the same bike, the weather is always
sunny behind clouds, and there is no color. Well Jonas had to live in the society for many years
until his world was turned upside down. In The Giver, the Giver is the receiver of memory for the
community. The receiver of memory is in charge of the memories of the past that the
community doesn t know about. The ceremony of 12 is when the people of 12 is given there
jobs picked out by the elders. The elders are the main committee of the community, they make
the decisions. Jonas was then given the one of the highest job of the community, Reciever of
memory. The job was rare and only chosen once the old receiver is about ready to pass. The
receiver of memory passes the memories of the past that he got from the previous receiver of
memory. The Giver is the receiver of memory he gave Jonas memories he never knew about. He
transferred them by putting his hand on Jonas s back and transferring them. When his memory
was gone and in the new receiver the memory would vanish from his memory and transfer into the
new receiver s memory. Until the new receiver passes the memories on. In The Giver, By Lois

supported by these symbols: No Color, Bikes, and the weather.

Reaction Paper On Bullying
There are many times where we are observers of other people s behavior whether negative or
positive and do not give it deep thought unless the behavior impacts us directly. We may go
about life with the belief that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad
people. Then when a bad thing happens to a good person (or vise versa), we then take the time
to analyse how can this be possible and whether it is fair or not. Now imagine that you are
raising a well mannered child who respects others, but comes home year after year letting you
know that she is being bullied at school. You then wonder what can your child be doing wrong to
deserve this, what can she do differently, and you can t seem to understand why your child who is
a good person is having bad things happen to her. Bullyingin fact causes serious health issues as
well as social and it has been estimated that around 30% of children are victims of bullying in the
adolescent years (Garland, Policastro, Richards, Miller, 2017). In the past schools and parents did
not look at bullying as an issue and many times the bullying went unnoticed because it was
considered the norm and a part of growing up. In turn this can be a reason why people blame the
victim for what happens to them and not the victimizer. When these thoughts cross our minds, we
are participating in a Belief Just World Phenomenon. The Just world theory started because the
world has the duty which goes without saying that we as humans

Benefits Of An Emissions Tax Or A Tradable Permit Policy...
Beyond environmental issues related to poverty are those that can increase from economic growth
itself as countries become more industrialized, rise their agricultural production, and spend greater
amounts of fossil fuels, the environment often suffers. The challenge facing policymakers
worldwide is to control economic growth in a way that increases its benefits and reduces its costs,
in terms of harm to both the environment and to the free market system. (Dahlberg,2012). This
essay will argue that either an emissions tax or a tradable permit policy can achieve the best
solution for the environment. Booth tax and tradable permits have benefits and drawbacks. Taxes
leave businesses and consumers with flexibility to determine the lower cost to reduce the
environmental harm. Nevertheless, Pollutionpermits give the incentive to develop new technologies
aimed at inexpensively reducing pollution and it is more effectively than taxes.
In economics, an externality is a cost or benefit that influences a party who did not choose to incur
that cost or benefit. Moreover, negative externality accrues when the production or consumption of
a good cause harmful influence to a third party, sometimes these effects are indirect and tiny.
However, when they are large, they can become problematic. Furthermore, in the case of pollution,
usually an example of a negative externality, a polluter makes resolutions based particularly on the
direct cost and profit opportunity from production and

Dental Clearance Research Paper
Healthcare teams often work together to augment the oral health of patients prior to cardiac surgery.
This is commonly referred to as dental clearance prior to cardiac surgeries in this essay; I will focus
on the rationale behind dental clearance for patients undergoing cardiac valve replacement. Dental
clearance is the process when the patients who are referred from the cardiac surgery division, are
assessed by the dental team for dental and oral concerns. And based on the finding the dentist might
recommend a treatment plan before clearing the patient. These might include but not limited to,
tooth extractions, dental hygiene, periodontal evaluation, fillings and oral surgery procedures.

You could of course go off and find all this but it would simply take so long you probably wouldn

guessed, all the analysis of this historical data as well as all the constant Forex market
monitoring takes time as well and the chance of making a timely trade are extremely slim. So
these Forex signal services provide traders with highly accurate and timely signals that have be
derived from trend analysis, market monitoring, experience and expertise. The Value of using
signals received from Forex signal providers: The value of subscribing to a Forex signal provider
varies for each trader. Even experienced traders subscribe to these signal providers in order to
have additional data to compare so that they can assess the best trade for them to make and so
minimize their chance of making a losing trade, thus increasing their overall success rate and of
course increase their profits. If you are a newbie trader considering using these signal service

Merit Pay Benefits
The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows. This quote by Sydney J. Harris
notes that schooling provides opportunities and guides career paths. The effectiveness of teachers
can cause a generation of workers, parents, and students to prosper or fail. Yet, with such a burden
on their shoulders, they have one of the lowest paying professions. Teachers deserve more money
than $54,740 to $58,170 a year. Merit pay should be incorporated into all U.S. schoolsystems. The
single salary schedule that schools use now does not reward more hardworking teachers
effectively. According to All Teachers Are Not the Same , the single salary schedule was
implemented in the 1950 s to provide equality between female and male teachers ... Show more

For instance, Merit pay programs aimed at groups of teachers who worked together to earn
incentive pay, as opposed to individuals competing against one another, resulted in an effect more
than two times the average (Iasevoli). Regardless of competition, teachers who work together are
the ones who get the rewards. Teachers will realize cooperation is key to getting benefits. Also,
the teachers who aren t getting rewards for their effectiveness won t have as strong as a reason as
others to stay in the profession, Thus, they would leave which weeds out the ineffective teachers.
The equally important text Merit Pay for Teachers Can Lead to Higher Test Scores for Students, a
Study Finds points out, teacher participation in a merit pay program led to the equivalent of four
extra weeks of student learning, according to a new analysis of 44 studies of incentive pay
initiatives in the United States and abroad. With merit pay in place, teachers will be more
dedicated to teaching with benefits in mind, will be able to get more and better materials, and
could be less stressed which can reflect on the students. Students would be affected positively
from merit pay because the classroom environment would be more helpful and the bad teachers
would either work harder or leave. The claim that merit pay has a negative impact on teachers and
students is not always true, and in reality, merit pay may be good for

Application For Successful Electronic Health Records
Reflection Paper
Introduction
As per Fenton, Giannangelo, Stanfill (2006), Workflow, project management, personnel, training,
support, communication, motivation, vision, leadership and evaluation, are essential
considerations for successful electronic health records (EHR) implementations. HI 5329
Assessment and Evaluation course utilized a team work practical approach that covers explicitly or
implicitly the majority of those considerations. The first six modules within this course focused
mainly on business processes and workflow modeling as described in Workflow Modeling textbook
(Sharp McDermott, 2009), hence this is the first topic discussed in this paper. Additional skills
developed during this course include communication and presentation skills, which is discussed
here as the second topic. Lastly, the third topic is the economic aspects of evaluation as explained
in the Evaluation Methods in Biomedical Informatics textbook (Friedman Wyatt, 2005). Although
this topic was not covered within the course and the practical assignments, it grabs my interest as it
discusses a critical real world issue.
Topic 1: Processes and Workflow Modeling
In the introduction section of each module, a statement emphasizing the importance of processes
and workflow modeling knowledge for healthcare informaticians was declared, as such knowledge
and skills are required to ensure high quality performance. As per Sharp and McDermott (2009),
Workflow Modeling is to clearly illustrate

Redemption In Khaled Hosseini s The Kite Runner
One of the most primary ways to achieve redemption is through the means of acceptance. At the
same time, a majority of people who are not ready to accept their mistakes will either end up
making another mistake or live their entire life in guilt. This situation can be observed in Khaled
Hosseini s The Kite Runner when Amir attempts to achieve redemptionby accusing Hassan for
theft. Before Amir could accept his mistake, he attempts to redeem himself by intentionally
tempting Hassan to fight back and speak up. However, this attempt backfires on Amir when
Hassan and Ali decide to leave Baba s house after accepting and apologizing for Hassan s mistake.
Therefore, acceptance plays a key role in redemption. Meanwhile, there are multiple variations of...

While attempting to achieve redemption, Amir hurled the pomegranate at [Hassan]. It struck
him in the chest, exploded in a spray of red pulp (Hosseini 92). This is important because the red
pulp of the pomegranate that struck Hassan on the chest symbolizes blood and violence that is
on Amir s mind. Thinking that Amir could achieve redemption by tempting Hassan to fight back,
he decides to throw pomegranates at him until he eventually realizes that this approach would
not work. Over time as Amir matures he continues his quest for a new approach. While
searching for Sohrab, Amir engages into a fight with Assef; where after a very long time he
surprisingly felt at peace. [He] laughed because [he] saw that, in some nook in the corner of [his]
mind, [he] had been looking forward to this (Hosseini 303). This is ironic because while Amir
used to fear Assef at the time when Hassan got raped, he now looks forward to this fight. The fear
that caused Amir to betray Hassan, now allows Amir to achieve redemption. Ironically, through the
means of violence, Amir successfully finally achieves

Insanity in A Rose for Emily Essay
The author, William Faulkner, has a collection of books, short stories, and poems under his name.
Through his vast collection of works, Faulkner attempts to discuss and bring awareness to
numerous aspects of life. More often than not, his works were created to reflect aspects of life
found within the south. Family dynamics, race, gender, social class, war, incest, racism, suicide,
necrophilia, and mental illnessare just some of the aspects that Faulkner explored. In A Rose for
Emily the aspects of necrophilia and mental illness along with the societal biases that were
observed in a small town setting are seen to be a part of this captivating story. These aspects
ultimately intertwine with the idea of insanitythat characterizes A Rose... Show more content on

Also during that time period a common treatment for such disorders included a procedure known as
trephining. This procedure included chipping a hole into the skull of the afflicted person. This
procedure has endured through time and is still used today in a more refined way to treat medical
problems like migraines and skull fractures. When dealing with mental afflictions, Ancient
Egyptians recommended modern methods like engaging in recreational activities like dancing, and
painting. In the past it has also been common to lock up in jails or dungeons individuals who were
mentally ill and who acted out. In the 17th century drugs like laudanum, unguents, opium grains
were used as sedatives to ease the torment that mentally ill individuals would endure. At certain
points in time, the mentally ill were housed in monasteries up until asylums were created and used
to hold these individuals.
A person s insanity can often lead to them being judged and looked down upon by society because
they can t understand that their actions are not accepted in society. This statement is true in
relation to the story, A Rose for Emily , in the story it is seen how the townspeople speculate about
the strangeness of Emily and her family. The story is narrated by several generations of men and
women from the town and unlike other stories, the chronology is all over the

  • 2. Texas V. Johnson. The Case Texas V. Johnson Happened In Texas v. Johnson The case Texas v. Johnson happened in 1984, Gregory Lee Johnson burned an American flag to protest President Ronald Reagan in front of the convention center in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade (Texas v. Johnson in 1989: Summary, Decision Significance, Stephen Benz). During the 1984 Republican National Convention, he participated in a political demonstration. The demonstrators were protesting the policies of the Reagan Administration. While they were marching through the streets, another demonstrator handed Johnson an American flag. Johnson set the flag on fire when they reached Dallas City Hall, where the Convention was held. After their protest, Johnson was arrested and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brenna. It indicated that the Court agreed with Johnson that flag burning constitutes a form of symbolic speech that is protected by the First Amendment. And the Court disagreed with Texas argument that Johnson s action breaches of the peace. What s more, it emphasized that the state may not discriminate upon different view point. Justice John Paul Steven also wrote a dissenting opinion, arguing the national flag is a valuable asset, and Johnson s action belittled the value of this important national symbol (Texas v. Johnson, LII / Legal Information Institute). This case did not change or add any amendments, but the first amendment played a big role in it. The First Amendment guarantees the rights of free expression and action that are fundamental to democratic government, These rights include freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech (First Amendment, Dictionary.com). It protects people s freedom of speech, and emphasize the right of symbolic speech as well, This case remains relevant today, and it is still a controversial issue. Because under the first amendment, people have the freedom of speech. The Court supports the flag burning is the same as other legal forms of symbolic speech, such as sit ins and wearing armbands. After this case, several laws and statutes had been brought up to make desecrating the flag a federal crime; but ultimately, all of them were stuck down. Most recently, ... • 3. Speech On Love It Is The Most Important In The Symposium Diotima s speech on love it is the most important, therefore she should be the last speech to help impact the overall meaning. Although, she actually is not the last speech, Alcibiades is. This leads to questioning over why Alcibiades is at the end if the speech is just drunken madness. Diotima s speech focuses on loveand places important emphasis on the idea of beauty pertaining to love. She also focuses on the way a boy and a man s relationship are centered around love because of the mentorship that they obtain with each other. It does not make sense in a book about love to have the ending be Alcibiades drunk confessing his love for Socrates .Bataille has led me to the belief that it does make sense for Alcibiades to be the end of the Symposiumbecause of the objective for humans to reach continuity through a drunken state of being. After reading Erotism, Diotima cannot be the final speech in The Symposium. Diotima could often be read as the most important speech in The Symposium, therefore she should be the last speech because her speech is based around the conception of love. Socrates begins to question Diotima about what love actually is. She says: I think that s why love struck you as beautiful in every way: because it is what is really beautiful and graceful that deserves to be loved, and this is perfect and highly blessed; but being a lover takes a different form which I have just described. This paper will be talking about how the laws of motion play into how high a ball bounces. Sir Isaac Newton a man that lived in the 17th century. During his life time he discovered many laws such as the laws of gravity, and the laws of motion. There are three laws of motion: Inertia which means an objects motion will remain the same unless an external force is applied to it. The second law is the law of force which is the most powerful of the three laws this means that when you multiply the objects mass and acceleration you will find the amount of force an object has. The final law is the law of Reciprocity which translates into there is an equal and opposite reaction for every action. Now that we know the laws of motion the paper will explain how the laws of motion play into the height a ball bounces on different surfaces. In the first law of motion. Isaac Newton one said An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion at the same speed and in the same direction, unless it is acted upon by a force. Have you ever wondered why a ball rolls farther on solid surfaces rather than on soft padded surfaces such as grass and carpet? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the course of the trial, it is established that code reds are standard in Guantanamo Bay as a means of enforcing discipline and getting sloppy Marines to follow procedure. Kaffee especially goes after Kendrick, particularly over the fact that he denied Dawson a promotion after the latter helped out a fellow Marine who was under what could be seen as a code red. Lieutenant Colonel Markinson has gone absent without leave since the incident, but he resurfaces in Kaffee s car during the trial, revealing that Jessep never intended to transfer Santiago off the base as previously claimed but created the transfer orders as part of a cover up long after Santiago s death. Kaffee is unable to find evidence corroborating these claims and announces his intention to have Markinson testify. Rather than publicly dishonor himself and the Marine Corps, Markinson sends a letter to Santiago s parents, blaming his own weakness for the loss of their son, outfits himself in full Dress Blue A uniform and commits suicide by shooting himself in the mouth with his service pistol. Without Markinson s crucial testimony, Kaffee believes that the case is lost and returns home after a drunken stupor, having come to regret that he fought the case instead of considering the plea bargain. In Beowulf the warriors had to overcome a very large force of evil that seems to put an extravagant tole on the town and the way that they prosper in life everyday. As the monster of the town decides to overturn his trust with beowulf s father and break the peace offering, he murders numerous of innocent people. Lying dead and motionless, the town goes up in flames, there was no fire but they were flames of fear. In the towns distress, people began to lose hope and prosperity. The townsmen eventually felt hopeless, a destructive force of evil was tearing their friends and family limb by limb, vein by vein. The monster had no sympathy for what he was doing. Before this evil force came up from the depth of evil, everything was so perfect for everyone. There never seemed to be any dramatic issues, but that all came to a close. So times were pleasant for the people there until finally one, a fiend out of hell, began to work his evil in the world. (Beowulf 99 101). All he cared about what was his next meal going to be. Not only just making records, Marley spoke to his people through his songs and took advantage of the opportunities given to him as a musician. Born on February 6, 1945, Robert Nesta Marley grew up in a small village in Jamaica called Nine Miles, where he would shape his personality and early beliefs. His father Norval Marley, a white Jamaican and a Captain in the Army, would also become inspirational to young Bob. Seeking re election the Prime Minister asked Bob Marley to stage a free concert on the same day as the National election, trying to lock up the support of the Marley followers and in turn the election. This move however resulted in an attempt to end Marley s life. On the evening of December 3, a number of gunmen arrived at Bob s house on 56 Hope Road and shot Bob, his wife Rita, and his manager. • 10. Literary Devices In The Hunger Games And The Road Oftentimes when reading books set in the middle of societal unrest or deterioration, we find the characters struggling with difficult, and sometimes impossible, decisions. These types of decisions delve into an individual s sense of humanity. At what point will their actions carry them over the line they thought they would never cross? How do you preserve your humanity when everyone else around you have compromised their own? In The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collinsand The Road by Cormac McCarthythe theme of preserving your humanity amidst an inhumane society is carried throughout the narration. The argument can be made that when leaders begin crossing the line and losing the basic humanity of protecting life, society as a whole falls in line. There are many different literary devices that are used in writing to enhance a theme or to carry those themes throughout a storyline. In The Hunger Games and The Road, irony is used in bringing attention to the theme of humanity and carrying it from beginning to the end of the novels. It is used in writing to contrast between what is expected or understood and what actually happens or is meant (Puchner i). In The Road, McCarthy uses irony to show the difference between what we would expect from a humane perspective and how those left have fallen so far from those expectations. One instance of this irony occurred when the father and son observed two men and a pregnant woman traveling on the road. Later, when these travelers were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The shock was the popping of the housing bubble. After the great burst, the financial situation of the country began to spiral out of control. Unemployment skyrocketed. Millions of Americans were laid off. The inflationrate plummeted to an extremely unhealthy amount. This was strange because the United States had recently spent decades working to lower inflation rate. They finally received what they wanted and much more. The consumer price index also eventually crashed as well. A big reason for these crashes were civilian reactions to the bursted housing bubbles. The United States took several actions to recover from the crisis. They worked at lowering mortgage interest rates and also passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They also bailed out huge failing banks like AIG. We took many actions that eventually paid off and pulled us out of the recession. The housing market had raising prices that economists thought was just steady growth. However, once the prices began to drop people grew fearful and stopped buying. This totally through the market off and it crashed. The government does not have a good track record when it comes to representing the historically oppressed. The government has helped support the patriarchy that exists in our workforce today and still stands to benefit from it. Why would the government attempt to break down our traditional bread winner society? If anything, the government benefits the most from this construction. As long as the value of work relies on dedication and long hours, the United States will continue to have the hardest working labor force in the world. This is a bad situation for men, who are under pressure to maintain the bread winner title and miss out on quality time with their family. • 23. Symptoms And Treatment Of A Thyroid Nodule Essay Introduction A thyroid nodule is a discrete lesion within the thyroid gland that is distinguishable from the adjacent parenchyma. Sonographic examination of enlarged nodular thyroids, demonstrated that 66% had multiple nodules, whereas 34% had single nodules. Among these single nodules, 85% 90% were proved to be benign. Adenomatous nodules represent most of benign thyroid nodules (80%), whereas the remaining benign nodules consisted of adenoma, cyst, and focal thyroiditis (1). The differentiation of single benign nodule and malignant one is considered an important goal. Early diagnosis of thyroid cancer avoids unneeded surgery in those complaining of benign nodules and decreases both mortality and morbidity rates of the disease (2). Although both fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and ultrasound are considered to be the most important tools in thyroid nodules evaluation, uncertain diagnosis of the nodule even by experienced hands still remains a problem and sometimes surgery has to be done for precise diagnosis. The percentage of indeterminate nodules might be small, however a significant number of patients performed surgery for benign disease (3); thus there is a need for a new noninvasive presurgical diagnostic test to avoid unnecessary surgery (4). Routine T1 and T2 weighted MR imaging cannot differentiate benign from malignant nodules or assess the functional status of thyroid nodules, thus its role in thyroid nodules evaluation is limited (5). • 25. Descriptive Essay About A Concert It s hard to believe it was only two years ago. Two years ago that I saw my at the time favorite country artist in concert. My mind was racing with thoughts before and after the show. I had so much fun and I will never forget how happy I was and how much I appreciated my mama and step dad for being able to do this for me because they knew I really wanted to go. My first concert, seeing Keith Urbanis one I will never ever forget. The drive to Summerfest was amazing. My step dad and my mama were playing a bunch of Keith Urban songs, it was really loud, and everyone was screaming in the car. Before i knew it, we were there. I was at Summerfest about to go enjoy my first concert. When we got there we had to get our actual tickets before we could go in. When we got in we got some drinks and then we went to our seats. We were in the red section which is the closest section. We weren t in the first row though, and it didn t even matter, being there was more than I could ve ever asked for. The first person to play before Keith Urban was a group called Dan and Shay. We arrived a little late, so we didn t get to see them but, we did get to see the next performer, Phillip Phillips. Hearing Phillip Phillips perform wasn t as exciting as I thought it would be. Don t get me wrong, I love him as an artist and his music is amazing, but I didn t find him playing life the greatest. Over the years, the nursing practice has developed mechanisms towards improving service delivery through research and management training. The fight against Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs) is one area that continuously attracts a lot of concern in nursing. Indwelling urinary catheters (IUC) have been the best option in addressing CAUTI (Wilde et al., 2013). But this has resulted in more health risks and compromised service delivery among nurses, calling for new ways to either upgrade the existing mechanisms or invent new methods over the same. As a result, the American Nurses Association, in conjunction with St. Francis Hospital clinical nurse specialists is working on a pilot program that is in the last stages of its review. The program developed an evidence based tool to be used in catheterization. Its main focus is to determine how health facilities can work together to improve the quality of service delivery through good management, as well as evaluation of its implication on performance, training, and future nursing practice (St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, 2016). As a result, this paper examines the milestone achieved by St Francis Hospital towards quality improvement in catheterassociated urinary tract contagions. • 35. Reaction Paper On Bullying There are many times where we are observers of other people s behavior whether negative or positive and do not give it deep thought unless the behavior impacts us directly. We may go about life with the belief that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people. Then when a bad thing happens to a good person (or vise versa), we then take the time to analyse how can this be possible and whether it is fair or not. Now imagine that you are raising a well mannered child who respects others, but comes home year after year letting you know that she is being bullied at school. You then wonder what can your child be doing wrong to deserve this, what can she do differently, and you can t seem to understand why your child who is a good person is having bad things happen to her. Bullyingin fact causes serious health issues as well as social and it has been estimated that around 30% of children are victims of bullying in the adolescent years (Garland, Policastro, Richards, Miller, 2017). In the past schools and parents did not look at bullying as an issue and many times the bullying went unnoticed because it was considered the norm and a part of growing up. In turn this can be a reason why people blame the victim for what happens to them and not the victimizer. When these thoughts cross our minds, we are participating in a Belief Just World Phenomenon. As per Sharp and McDermott (2009), Workflow Modeling is to clearly illustrate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Redemption In Khaled Hosseini s The Kite Runner One of the most primary ways to achieve redemption is through the means of acceptance. At the same time, a majority of people who are not ready to accept their mistakes will either end up making another mistake or live their entire life in guilt. This situation can be observed in Khaled Hosseini s The Kite Runner when Amir attempts to achieve redemptionby accusing Hassan for theft. Before Amir could accept his mistake, he attempts to redeem himself by intentionally tempting Hassan to fight back and speak up. However, this attempt backfires on Amir when Hassan and Ali decide to leave Baba s house after accepting and apologizing for Hassan s mistake. Therefore, acceptance plays a key role in redemption. It struck him in the chest, exploded in a spray of red pulp (Hosseini 92). This is important because the red pulp of the pomegranate that struck Hassan on the chest symbolizes blood and violence that is on Amir s mind. Thinking that Amir could achieve redemption by tempting Hassan to fight back, he decides to throw pomegranates at him until he eventually realizes that this approach would not work. Over time as Amir matures he continues his quest for a new approach. While searching for Sohrab, Amir engages into a fight with Assef; where after a very long time he surprisingly felt at peace. [He] laughed because [he] saw that, in some nook in the corner of [his] mind, [he] had been looking forward to this (Hosseini 303). This is ironic because while Amir used to fear Assef at the time when Hassan got raped, he now looks forward to this fight. The fear that caused Amir to betray Hassan, now allows Amir to achieve redemption. Ironically, through the means of violence, Amir successfully finally achieves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When dealing with mental afflictions, Ancient Egyptians recommended modern methods like engaging in recreational activities like dancing, and painting. In the past it has also been common to lock up in jails or dungeons individuals who were mentally ill and who acted out.
