The Overpopulation Of The Human Race
The overpopulation of the human race is killing the earth due to the consumption of natural resources
and not taking care of our planet. The human race as of the twenty first century is similar to a parasite.
Humans consume everything we can and do not help those resources grow back. The human race is
also driving animals out of their habitats, taking over those habitats and in that process putting more
animals on the endangered species index. The human population needs to be reduced in order to try to
save earth or so the next planet humans move to does not end up like earth. When addressing solutions
for the human race, you can be moral which the decision or be cruel and only worry about the future.
One solution that could help the world is China s one child policy. The one child policy was enforced
in 1980 because there were about thirty million more men than women were. This world today does
not have the issue that china had, however we are overpopulated and this policy could be a helpful
way to restore the earth. First, the one child policy will be a major civil rights issue. This should be an
exception, I myself would not have an issue with this because it will help save the planet and possible
save the human race from extinction even. Second, would be enforcing the policy worldwide. In order
to do this the governments would have to monitor areas, this is again is a civil rights issue. Third,
keeping the populations gender balanced. Would a family in an area be

Stylistic Prose Techniques In Cry, The Beloved Country By...
Stylistic prose technique 1: IMAGERY Authors who use imagery wish to give the readers a physical
feeling of literature while reading any sort of piece. It allows for the audience to connect to the
characters on a deeper level by having them experience the same feelings, smells, noises, etc, as did
the roles in the novel. Alan Paton uses a strong voice packed with imagery in his passage, For they
grow red and bare; they cannot hold the rain and mist, and the streams are dry in the kloofs. Too many
cattle feed upon the grass, and too many fires have burned it. Stand shod upon it, for it is coarse and
sharp, and the stones cut under the feet. It is not kept or guarded, or cared for, it no longer keeps men,
guards men, cares for men (Paton, 34). The overwhelming senses of touch and vision are more than
prevalent in this brief passage, with Paton perfectly conveying the atmosphere of rural South Africa in
the 1940 s. The reader gets a catholic impression of the arid climate as well as the deteriorated lands
on which it rests. By including this in his novel, Alan Paton establishes a thorough setting, one of
which the reader can fully understand for the remaining duration of Cry, The Beloved Country.
Stylistic prose technique 2: DRAMATIC IRONY In short, dramatic irony is in any given literary
scenario when future actions can be accurately anticipated by the readers but not the characters. It
often includes cliches and is used by authors wishing to give their audience insight that their
characters do not yet have. Powerful dramatic irony is demonstrated in the scene: Shall I get your
ticket for you, umfundisi? Then you need not lose your place in the line while I go to the ticket
office... As though he has suddenly though of something he left the line, and walked to the corner, but
there was no sign of the young man... Where is the ticket office my friend? You get your ticket on the
bus. There is no ticket office (Paton, 49). Alan Paton is able to show how vulnerable and naïve
Stephen Kumalo is to the big city; using something so predictable as a sly, nevertheless, predictable
con artist, he shows how foreign lies and deceit are to the pastor.
Stylistic prose technique 3: LOGOS Logos is a stylistic prose

Ccc s Work Processes
Work processes are several individual processes that make up the complete organizational process. It
is important to understand how the actions of one, effect many. In this part of the system and structure
analysis, Carey Counseling Center does an effective job with its work processes. CCC was established
in the late 70s, giving CCC plenty of time to hone their craft in the community mental health industry.
One of the previous opportunity assessment tools would help CCC s work processes be carried out
much smoother. If CCC was able to communicate the new program offerings with other staff and
make them aware of the immense amount of new services provided for clients, then the work
processes CCC is attempting to achieve would be realized

Slippery Slope Theory
Can a police officer actually turn out to be corrupted because they have a cup of coffee that was given
to them? Some tend to think so and the slippery slope theory explains why this could happen. O.W.
Wilson, Patrick V. Murphy, and other qualified professionals in this field partake and opposed that
corruption could start receiving free items while working or just because you are a police officer. The
slippery slope could begin with something as small as a cup of coffee. Some people might be
pondering how slippery slope theory is related to criminal justice. Well, slippery slope defined as a
progression or sequences of procedures that become harder to break or controller after they are started
and this frequently primes of inferior quality and leads to further problematic stuff in the future.
Individuals could discover that they are walking a thin line. They could be walking the boundaries of
bribery by receiving discounted or possibly even meals at no cost. This could lead to free tickets a ball
games or movie theater, or even free stuff for a vacation. Others will see this as the officers receiving
these gifts as a financial advantage; money is said to be the root of all evil. These donations can
usually be obtainable by people as a sign of respect in the community that they are serving in.
Occasionally, the free items can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Axis powers of Germany,Italy, and Japan
In 1923, Benito Mussolini said that the axis of the world s history ran through Berlin. Mussolini s
words were based on a practical interest towards Germany; he wanted to use it as an ally against
Yugoslavia and France in the territorial conflict. However, the name Axis was officially used to signify
the Berlin Rome ( agreement in 1936. Later, it became a name for the military alliance formed during
the Second World War, which opposed the Allies(Ryan, James). The core of the Axis comprised three
countries with vast territorial appetites, Germany, Italy, and Japan. Each of them had its interests
beyond its own lands. Japan was hungry for the territories in the Pacific region and a significant part
of China, Italy had its colonial interests and was seeking for an ally to oppose France, and Germany

Narrowcasting Media Bias
In the past twenty years, the United States media has transformed from a broadcasting to a
narrowcasting media. Each method has its unique differences, with one being the amount of bias from
each source. Narrowcasting specifically, can greatly affect the media s ability to influence public
opinion. Broadcasting is media programming that focuses on many genres of television. For instance,
on a broadcasting channel, you can watch a drama, comedy, and news all in the same day. The three
broadcasting networks, known as The Big 3 , are ABC, NBC, and CBS. When these broadcasting
channels present news, they want to stay as close to the middle of the political spectrum as possible.
The goal of a broadcasting channel is to appeal to everyone and the more neutral, fact based
information released, the more views The Big 3 will get, resulting in more money. However,
narrowcasting is media programming that is focused on a particular audience. Examples of
narrowcasting networks include C SPAN, ESPN, Fox News, and CNN. ESPN stands for
Entertainment and Sports Programming Network so they specialize in sports news and cater to the
sports audience. Unlike broadcasting, narrowcasting will not try to appeal to the majority of
Americans, so it can lean left or right on political issues and interject slightly more opinions. ... Show

As stated above, narrowcasting networks appeal to one type of audience, allowing the networks to add
opinions into their reports to keep that one audience interested. For instance, CNN, also known as
Cable News Network, is known for being more liberal whereas Fox News leans more conservative.
This creates bias because if you watch CNN news today, for example, Donald Trump will be
portrayed as an evil being. However, Fox News is known for saying Trump is an outstanding, fantastic
president. Depending on the news network you watch and/or read will affect the opinion of President

Various documents such as a project scope statement, one time cost or recurring cost worksheet can be
created to list costs associated with the project. Other methods include the time value of money, which
refers to comparing present cash outlays to future expended returns, and a break even analysis in order
to determine economic feasibility. Operational feasibility is the process of examining the likelihood
the project will attain its desired objective (Valacich, 2009). The purpose of this goal is to understand
how the new point of sale system will work at Hoosier Burger and if it will solve their new problems
encountered by the high demand of their products. Technical feasibility refers to the organization s
ability to construct the proposed system (Valacich, 2009). Hoosier Burger needs to evaluate the
hardware, software, and operating environments that may be used to accomplish their project. They
must ensure there is adequate space within the restaurant and the employees have the capability to
operate the new equipment or software. Schedule feasibility considers the likelihood of all potential
time frames and completion dates can be met (Valacich, 2009). Hoosier Burger must set a reasonable
goal to start and finish the project. They must also ensure construction or upgrading does not interfere
with daily business operations and negatively effect sales. Seasonal changes may have an impact

Realism Constructivism
The U.S government has been in the past make several trials promote democracy within their state and
in the whole world. There are various ways through which there are developments of democracy by
different administrations of the United States. The approaches to democratic promotion range from
realism, liberalism and constructivism (Carothers, 55).
Realism is seen to offer democracy from a perspective of both a classical and structural realism
(Monten, 112 156). Democracy promotion through realism may be viewed as a situation when
democracy may reduce some the causes of conflict cited by realists, the causes may not eliminate
those in conflict. For realism, that is democratic peace, and that is when there is democracy in a
country. Such democracies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Advocacy for democracy by the U.S have always been in terms of two main methods. The U.S
government has been applying either the projection of values approach or the projection of power
approach. For easy understanding, power projection in advocacy for democracy may be applied when
dealing with deadly issues such as war, terror and other forms of conflict. As the U.S have been in
need of seeing the world a peaceful place, whenever there is a war or terror threat in a country, they
sometimes come in by carrying out offensive attacks. Attacks may be on terror groups with an
intention of stopping them from causing harm to the innocent people. When the U.S government uses
the power to address a situation or calm a war, then they shall have projected power. However, at
some point when the U.S presidents have been visiting other countries, for instance, when President
Obama recently visited Kenya, in Africa, he was complaining about the need to live a corruption free
life. At such situations, it will be upon the country to listen and adopt the wishes of the U.S. When
Obama was showing Kenyans on how best their lives could be without corruption, he was projecting
values to the Kenyan government and African countries in

Modern Day Technology Essay
Everywhere you look technology is being used. It is used in schools, workplaces, at home, in
transportation facilities, and everywhere you go. Technology has quickly become apart of people s
everyday life. Younger generations haven t experienced a world without technology. Life has been
made easier over time, with advances in the technological world. The Internet and virtual social
networks are new technologies that have had the most impact on young people and have provided
many benefits to their users. Some benefits include staying in touch with distant relatives and having
easy access to important news or weather updates. We have the answers to pretty much all of our
questions with just one push of a button. People are so engulfed in their technological devices that
most they don t even realize how harmful they can be. It can cause a variety of issues including
diseases, mental and physical issues, and bodily functions start to degrade.
Is the use of modern day technology harmful to one s health? Mental and physical health is worsening
because of modern day technology. Studies show that constant exposure to screens changes the neural
circuitry of developing brains, leading to shorter attention spans, stunted social skills and a heightened
ability to multitask (Gibson). Physical effects of technology can be blemishes caused by your phone.

True or False: The electron in the receiving antenna oscillates at a lower frequency than the electron in
the transmitting antenna because of the distance between the two antennas.
False: when the transmitting antenna s electron oscillates, it sets up on an electromagnetic wave that
oscillates at the same frequency. This wave causes the electron in the receiver to oscillate at the same
frequency. Electrons, therefore, in both the transmitter and receiver (antennas) oscillate at identical
frequencies.
True or False: If the frequency of oscillation increases but the amplitude of the electron oscillation
remains the same, then the electron in the transmitting antenna is experiencing larger accelerations
(recall what you know about acceleration and motion).
True: electrons must move faster as they oscillate back and forth in order for the frequency to increase
while the amplitude remains the same. Delta velocity / time is a measure of the average acceleration. A
larger change in velocity than at the old frequency if the electron is ovine faster towards its peak
height than away from its peak height at the new frequency. Moreover, the time for this change is
velocity to be seen is less than for the old frequency. These changes indicate acceleration is larger.
True or False: If the amplitude increases but frequency remains the same, the electron at the receiving
antenna experiences larger peak forces but oscillates at the same frequency as before.

Fake News As An Unreliable Form Of Satire
The emergence and growing population of satire holds a strong position in the definition of modern
journalism. The term satire has been replaced in the mainstream by the phrase fake news . This title
implies an unreliable form of storytelling meant to translate to trickery, as this form of news can hold
just as much power in today s media as legitimate news outlets. Regardless of it s popularity, the word
fake should not be considered accurate, nor is it true to the real meaning. Satire typically aims to
entertain an audience or grab its attention in a more interesting way, while news reports capture an
event simply as it was. However, both forms of news may be guilty of carrying bias in their stories,
one more obviously than the other. Fake news , still a form of journalism, carries a satirical form of
political commentating that is still necessary in the world of reporting, just in a different format and
done for a different purpose.
The success and impact of satirical news stories rely on the consumer s ability to understand this form
of irony. If this effect is achieved, a story can be just as beneficial as any other form of media. Popular
satirical figure John Oliver agreed with this in reference to the use of irony in relation to the viewer,
stating in an interview that his job required making jokes about the news and sometimes we need to
research things deeply to understand them. (Oliver, 2014). This form of storytelling is not always
successful. The audience

Title Not one person from Sandy Hook, Connecticut ever thought this sort of event would ever

Connecticut. After the shooting, Lanza successfully committed suicide before he was detained. Which
left, the state, officials, and the entire country to question why Lanza would do such a horrible act of

Lanza was always on the honor roll and in the most difficult classes that was offered. At the age of 16,
Lanza dropped out of high school and attended college at Western Connecticut State University. With
the combination of college and homeschooling by his mother, Nancy Lanza, Adam earned a GED.
Throughout school, Lanza was known for his intelligence, but he seemed nervous to many. Teachers
and other students took notice to the amount of friends he had. Lanza had no true friends throughout
most of his life. Which lead to him being a homebody and resorting to other hobbies to get him by.
Such as, spending time with his mother who was a gun enthusiast and took her sons shooting at ranges
quite frequently. He never got into any trouble; his criminal record was completely clean. No one
would have ever thought that he could do something so immense and wretched. Lanza was autistic to
a slight degree. Which should not have any correlation with Lanza committing such a horrible crime.
His childhood was not abnormally rough. Yet again raising the question, why? Adam was only twenty
years old when he committed the crime. He still had a whole life to live but he chose to end his and
many others at a very young age. Lanza did not show signs before the massacre, but he was surely

The Pros And Cons Of Solar And Wind Energy
According to President Barack Obama, There is one issue that will define the contours of this century
more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate. The main reason
for global warming is the increment of using fossil fuels as a key source of energy across the board, so
some developed countries have started to transform the non renewable power sources to renewable
resources. Solar and wind energy systems are two kinds of renewable source of energy. Even if solar
and wind power differ in methods of generating power, they bring similar benefits to the society and
environment.
Solar and wind energy have different processes to produce electricity. Solar energy creates electricity
by making large amounts of heat, which is conducted through electrical conductors and changed into
electrical power. In most solar systems, solar panels mounted on the roof. These panels contain
photovoltaic cells made from silicon that convert incoming sunlight into electricity instead of heat. (
Photovoltaic means electricity from light photo = light, voltaic = electricity.) The photons of the
sunlight knock the electrons from the silicon, as a result, the negatively electrons accumulate in one
side of the silicon cell to create electrical voltage. This current form photovoltaic array and flows
through PV array cables, which are terminated in one fused array combiner box. It is designed to
protect the PV cell cables, and to deliver DC (Direct Current)

George Orwell Imperialism
Everyone, at one or time, has succumbed to the pressure of doing something against his or her wishes.
In George Orwell s essay Shooting an Elephant, Orwell recounts his earlier years as a sub divisional
officer in British occupied Burma. With their bitter hatred for the white men, the native Burmese
would taunt and harass them. Although Orwell sympathizes with the Burmese and against the British,
their constant jeering led made him hate his job even more. The crux of this story occurs when Orwell
receives a phone call to do something about a rampaging elephant that has damaged property, killed a
cow, and murdered a man. With a crowd of two thousand natives following him as he, armed with an
elephant rifle, watches the elephant, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It gave me a better glimpse than I had had before of the real nature of imperialism the real motives for
which despotic governments act. Against his wishes, he shoots the elephant. He is the only one is the
crowd with a weapon and the natives expect it to come easily to him with him being a white man. He
comes to the realization that as a leader, because he essentially is in this scenario, all freedom is lost,
and that everything is done not to please oneself but everyone else. He suffers with this internal
conflict and tries to compromise with himself about the situation. As the title of the essay suggests,
readers already know he will shoot it. It is for his sake, for the sake of all white men in the East. As he
said in the essay, he had already committed to shooting the elephant when he sent for the elephant
rifle. His initial idea of shooting his rifle to scare it rather than kill it would have been the easier
option. The option provided less guilt and pain. He would not have had to waste so many shots on
killing the poor creature, who did not die until half an hour later with multiple shots in his brain, heart,
and throat. It is an excruciating way to go and an unnecessary way. He and the Burmese died for the
sole and insignificant purpose of saving the face of British

encouraging way but showed that he had failed to understand Ramanujan s results on divergent series.
The recommendation to Ramanujan that he read Bromwich s Theory of infinite series did not please
Ramanujan much. Ramanujan wrote to E. W. Hobson and H. F. Baker trying to interest them in his
results but neither replied. In January 1913 Ramanujan wrote to G H Hardy having seen a copy of his

Ancient Egypt And Ancient Egyptian Civilization
known for its great pieces of art and architecture, advanced engineering skills, and even its use of
medicine. One of the most interesting parts of this culture was its belief in the afterlife. This belief was
so widely accepted and important to the people of Egypt that it influenced many aspects of their
everyday lives. The version of the afterlife that the Egyptians believed in was very different from
other religions and cultures. The immortality ideology is something that many cultures grappled with.
The ancient Egyptian belief was the epitome of immortality ideology. Everything that the Egyptians
did was influenced by the idea of an afterlife. This unique belief in the afterlife can be seen in Egypt s
many pieces of art and architecture including the Great Pyramids at Giza, the temple of Karnak, and
the Book of the Dead. These examples give a glimpse into the culture and religion of Egypt.
The timeline of ancient Egyptian civilization spanned from about 3000 BCE, when Egypt was united
under a single ruler, until about 30 BCE, when Queen Cleopatra died and Egypt was annexed by
Rome. This is the longest lasting civilization in history. Their way of life, advanced architecture, and
astute use of natural resources gave them the ability to last as long as they did. The Egyptians believed
that everything they did and produced was influenced by the Gods and thus affected their afterlife.
They believed that when a human died, they would continue to live on in the afterlife. This

Oakley compares Boyhood with the television series Seven Up (Almond 1964), which traces the lives
of a set of people who were interviewed first at age seven; and seven consecutive years after. Thus,
this illustrates the growth and maturation of each cast members over the 12 year period of producing
this film. In the different scenes of the film, the American modern ways of living have been explained
using the real life experience of Mason. The new modern ways of life include love for guitar, dates,
substance abuse, mobile phones, automobiles, video games, a passion for photography, family life and
school. The film discusses different trajectories of emotional and cognitive development that people
undergo thus determining their personalities. It explains the different experiences that one faces while
interacting with different people such as parents, friends, and siblings. According to Oatley, the way
modern people life is interesting as they can have unity and create a scheme of love and

Analysis Of The Poem Twenty One Love Poems By Adrienne...
Adrienne Rich was a highly acclaimed twentieth century poet who railed against war and the
injustices in the world, and also used imagery that spoke tenderly of love feelings that she sensed were
both highly individual for her, but also universal. Twenty One Love Poems were written between 1974
1976 to her lover of the time, and they track the course of the relationship through the sweet beginning
stages, the development of mature love, and all the way through to its dissolution due to her partner s
seeming inability to come out and admit to her homosexuality at a time in society when relationships
between women were not endorsed or supported. The language in these poems is very rich and weaves
both ugly city imagery and elegant metaphors and similes together, with the apparent intention of
making the reader search inside to see if the images and ideas conveyed by the language can be
applied to the reader s own experience of living too. While these poems are highly individualistic and
at times very personal, this impressive and moving body of poetic accomplishment also reflects
themes to which all human beings can relate. In an interview with Kate Waldman in The Paris Review,
Rich herself states that:
As long as I can remember I have cared about the timbre, the phrasing of a poetic line. Ever since
Snapshots, I ve worked close to the pull and release of voices... The voices may be individual, but they
re searching for a shared moral reality. This

Short Summary Of Us And Them By David Sedaris
In the story Us and Them by David Sedaris, the narrator doesn t live a life like a normal child. The
narrator s family moves very frequently. Currently they re living in a rented home, and will be moving
shortly. So they don t bother making too many neighborhood friends because then they re going to
have to say goodbye in a few weeks. They did make one friend in their neighborhood, but the narrator
s mom believes one friend is good enough. She heard that someone in the neighborhood, named the
tomkeys, don t believe in tv! The only place that seemed truly different was owned by a man named
Mr. Tomkey, who did not believe in television. This was told to us by our mother s friend, who
dropped by one afternoon with a basketful of okra.

Tomkey did not own a television, and you began hearing that while this was all very well and good, it
was unfair of him to inflict his beliefs upon others, specifically his innocent wife and children. The
narrator and the narrator s mom thought the tomkeys were a bit out of the ordinary. Yes the tomkeys
not having a tv in their home is a bit different from everyone, but you don t need a tv to have a normal
life. They didn t own a tv, they didn t believe in tv. What else could there be? The narrator was a bit
curious so he decided to look through the tomkeys windows during the day, or at night. He preferred
to peek through the tomkeys windows at night time because there was a lower chance that he would
get caught. The narrator thinks not having a tv is weird, peering through people s windows is even
weirder. Spying on people isn t something anyone would do Actually no one would every spy on
people through their windows. That s not something normal people do. I wanted to know what this
something was, and so I began peering through the Tomkeys windows. During the day I d stand across
the street from their house, acting as though I were waiting for someone, and at night, when the view
was better and I had less chance of being discovered, I would creep into their yard and hide in the
bushes

Minnie s Desolation in Susan Glaspell s A Jury of Her Peers
Susan Glaspell, writer of the short story A Jury of Her Peers details the isolated rural farm house of
Minnie Wright and Mr.Wright. Glaspell advocates for the equality of woman and hopes to warn the
readers of the difference between the law and what is actually right. She conveys the meaning of her
theme by describing a case of a deprived woman, Minnie, who is absolutely isolated from any other
kind of companionship except for her husband s, which is like a raw hard wind that gets to the bone.
(Glaspell 198) Although Minnie isn t present at the time of the investigation, the setting of her house
lets the readers know some of the various kinds of isolation she deals with for twenty years before
being sent to jail. The different kinds of isolation that Minnie experiences are symbolized in the objects
and information Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters share and discover while being at the scene of the incident.
Minnie s youthful life was the complete opposite to her current life. Mrs. Hale spoke of her youth and
said she used to wear pretty clothes and be lively when she was Minnie Foster. (Glaspell 195) But now
all Minnie wears is a shabby black shirt that bore the marks of much making over along with the same
gray shawl . (Glaspell 195) Minnie s lively spirit and style of clothing evoke a stage in her life where
she was joyful and free from a man who didn t represent her. However, now that she bears her
husbands last name, Minnie Wright wears shabby dull clothes that

Thomas Test
Thomas Test During the Thomas test, the patient is lying supine (Face up) on the table, the examiner is
standing besides the patient. The examiner places one hand between the Lumbar lordotic curve and the
table top. One leg is passively flexed to the patient s chest, allowing the knee to flex during the
movement. The opposite leg which is the one being tested rest flat on the table. If the test is positive
for hip flexor tightness, the involved leg rises off the table. The structures being implicated in the test

Acute Failure And Chronic Failure
CHF occurs when the heart is no longer able to adequately pump blood causing a decrease in nutrients
and oxygen to the body. The term CHF has widely been replaced by the terms acute failure and
chronic failure because not all types of heart failure are accompanied by pulmonary congestion.
However, in this pt s case, she suffered from severe edema and fluid build up in the lungs due to the
failure. CHF is generally precipitated by other cardiac related conditions including, HTN, CAD, and
past MIs, all of which are present in this pt s history (Lewis, Heitkemper, Dirksen, Bucher, Camera,
2014). The heart is responsible for moving the body s blood, and is primarily composed of cardiac

This transfer of ions is what generates the electrical impulse of the heart and causes the heart to act as
a single unit instead of individual cells (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). Cardiac conduction occurs because
there are gap junctions for ions to pass through and because of the heart s intrinsic conduction system,
which is composed of non contractile cardiac cells that are specifically designed to start and distribute
electric impulses through the cardiac cells so that depolarization and contractions are orderly and
sequential. The contractile cells sustain stable membrane resting potential when they are unstimulated,
however, the resting potential of the autorhythmic cells, that create the intrinsic conduction system, is
unstable and is constantly depolarizing, which is called pacemaker potentials and initiate the action
potential that causes the heart to contract (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). The pace maker potential occurs
because of the ion channels which causes hyperpolarization at the end of the action potentials. This
hyperpolarization causes the K+ channels to close while simultaneously opening the Na+ channels,
which allows an imbalance of K+ and Na+ to occur making the cardiac cells to become more positive.
When the pacemaker potential is reached at around

Primordial Soup Hypothesis
This biology essay is going to contain facts about the original cells and how they developed and how
they got to Earth.
The Primordial Soup hypothesis a statement hypothesizing that life could have started in the ocean.
Alexander Oparin and John Haldane came up with the idea, they hypothesized that with the gases in
the atmosphere the energy from lightning strikes could spontaneously form amino acids in the oceans.
Their theory was tested in 1953 by Stanley Miller and Harold Urey. They combined the atmospheres
gases and sent constant lightning strikes through the air. However now there is doubt that their
experiment was liable because there is never actually constant lightning strikes in the real world. Iron

The hand is a significant symbol that recurs throughout the novellas plotline; it comments on the novel
s meanings by suggesting that in order to achieve your hopes and dreams you, you must work hard for
it. As each character is introduced Steinbeck makes specific reference to their hands. This is evident
when at the beginning of the narrative when Curley is first introduced Steinbeck draws attention to the
fact that he is wearing a glove. Also, Candy s stump is often referred throughout the plot. Out of the
sleeve came a round, stick like wrist but no hand (p.20). This links to idea of the human condition
because Candy lost his hand operating machinery, working for his hopes and dreams. Also, Curley
used to be a boxer and is described as being handy which therefore links to the idea of hard work an
essential part of human nature.

Humans In The Iliad
The Iliad, chronicling the deeds of great legends from the past who helped form a society. As such the

developed a complex system filled with gods, goddesses, demigods, and mythological creatures. The
Greek gods share the same vices as humans, proving themselves to be as fallible as mortals are. For
example, the gods often argue with each other. Like the one happened in book one where Zeus and
Hera had a conflict about him making decisions. However, there are several factors that makes the

Major Problems With American Popular Culture Chapter 3...
Chapter 3 in Major Problems with American Popular Culture discusses the meaning and purposes of
popular culture in the 19th century American society. The text presents a variety of materials attributed
to America popular culture of that time, such as accounts of Fejee Mermaid exposition, extracts from
the 19th century Shakespeare s adaptations and the eyewitness testimony of the Astor Place Riot in
1849. Furthermore, the YouTube video sources discuss the concept of imagined community, first
suggested by Benedict Anderson. Imagined community is discussed in the light of popular culture,
which becomes an alternative instrument of imagining communities with the emergence of different
types of media, it being film, theatre, news or internet. Interestingly, the 19th century American theatre
and its public was a powerful representation of the existing society, notably, not only within America
but also inclusive of the British who were a part of American theatre world. This is a good example of
the expansion of the imagined community beyond just an idea of the nation. Theatre becomes an art
community on its own, which is clear from the argument of Lawrence W. Levine, who writes: At the

the community s classes. The conflict on the Astor Place demonstrates how public culture can
suddenly shift from being a unifying factor in a society to a matter of and political controversy class
difference. Hence, the imagined community breaks down, partly due to the existing assumption of
unity of theatrical space. This community expands again to those identifying with high art and popular
art , of which Levine says: Theatre no longer functioned as a cultural form that embodied all classes
within a shared public

  • 2. The Overpopulation Of The Human Race The overpopulation of the human race is killing the earth due to the consumption of natural resources and not taking care of our planet. The human race as of the twenty first century is similar to a parasite. Humans consume everything we can and do not help those resources grow back. The human race is also driving animals out of their habitats, taking over those habitats and in that process putting more animals on the endangered species index. The human population needs to be reduced in order to try to save earth or so the next planet humans move to does not end up like earth. When addressing solutions for the human race, you can be moral which the decision or be cruel and only worry about the future. One solution that could help the world is China s one child policy. The one child policy was enforced in 1980 because there were about thirty million more men than women were. This world today does not have the issue that china had, however we are overpopulated and this policy could be a helpful way to restore the earth. First, the one child policy will be a major civil rights issue. This should be an exception, I myself would not have an issue with this because it will help save the planet and possible save the human race from extinction even. Second, would be enforcing the policy worldwide. In order to do this the governments would have to monitor areas, this is again is a civil rights issue. Third, keeping the populations gender balanced. Would a family in an area be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Stylistic Prose Techniques In Cry, The Beloved Country By... Stylistic prose technique 1: IMAGERY Authors who use imagery wish to give the readers a physical feeling of literature while reading any sort of piece. It allows for the audience to connect to the characters on a deeper level by having them experience the same feelings, smells, noises, etc, as did the roles in the novel. Alan Paton uses a strong voice packed with imagery in his passage, For they grow red and bare; they cannot hold the rain and mist, and the streams are dry in the kloofs. Too many cattle feed upon the grass, and too many fires have burned it. Stand shod upon it, for it is coarse and sharp, and the stones cut under the feet. It is not kept or guarded, or cared for, it no longer keeps men, guards men, cares for men (Paton, 34). The overwhelming senses of touch and vision are more than prevalent in this brief passage, with Paton perfectly conveying the atmosphere of rural South Africa in the 1940 s. The reader gets a catholic impression of the arid climate as well as the deteriorated lands on which it rests. By including this in his novel, Alan Paton establishes a thorough setting, one of which the reader can fully understand for the remaining duration of Cry, The Beloved Country. Stylistic prose technique 2: DRAMATIC IRONY In short, dramatic irony is in any given literary scenario when future actions can be accurately anticipated by the readers but not the characters. It often includes cliches and is used by authors wishing to give their audience insight that their characters do not yet have. Powerful dramatic irony is demonstrated in the scene: Shall I get your ticket for you, umfundisi? Then you need not lose your place in the line while I go to the ticket office... As though he has suddenly though of something he left the line, and walked to the corner, but there was no sign of the young man... Where is the ticket office my friend? You get your ticket on the bus. There is no ticket office (Paton, 49). Alan Paton is able to show how vulnerable and naïve Stephen Kumalo is to the big city; using something so predictable as a sly, nevertheless, predictable con artist, he shows how foreign lies and deceit are to the pastor. Stylistic prose technique 3: LOGOS Logos is a stylistic prose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this part of the system and structure analysis, Carey Counseling Center does an effective job with its work processes. CCC was established in the late 70s, giving CCC plenty of time to hone their craft in the community mental health industry. One of the previous opportunity assessment tools would help CCC s work processes be carried out much smoother. • 5. Slippery Slope Theory Can a police officer actually turn out to be corrupted because they have a cup of coffee that was given to them? Some tend to think so and the slippery slope theory explains why this could happen. O.W. Wilson, Patrick V. Murphy, and other qualified professionals in this field partake and opposed that corruption could start receiving free items while working or just because you are a police officer. The slippery slope could begin with something as small as a cup of coffee. Some people might be pondering how slippery slope theory is related to criminal justice. Well, slippery slope defined as a progression or sequences of procedures that become harder to break or controller after they are started and this frequently primes of inferior quality and leads to further problematic stuff in the future. Individuals could discover that they are walking a thin line. They could be walking the boundaries of bribery by receiving discounted or possibly even meals at no cost. This could lead to free tickets a ball games or movie theater, or even free stuff for a vacation. Others will see this as the officers receiving these gifts as a financial advantage; money is said to be the root of all evil. • 7. Narrowcasting Media Bias In the past twenty years, the United States media has transformed from a broadcasting to a narrowcasting media. Each method has its unique differences, with one being the amount of bias from each source. Narrowcasting specifically, can greatly affect the media s ability to influence public opinion. Broadcasting is media programming that focuses on many genres of television. For instance, on a broadcasting channel, you can watch a drama, comedy, and news all in the same day. The three broadcasting networks, known as The Big 3 , are ABC, NBC, and CBS. When these broadcasting channels present news, they want to stay as close to the middle of the political spectrum as possible. The goal of a broadcasting channel is to appeal to everyone and the more neutral, fact based information released, the more views The Big 3 will get, resulting in more money. However, narrowcasting is media programming that is focused on a particular audience. Examples of narrowcasting networks include C SPAN, ESPN, Fox News, and CNN. ESPN stands for Entertainment and Sports Programming Network so they specialize in sports news and cater to the sports audience. Unlike broadcasting, narrowcasting will not try to appeal to the majority of Americans, so it can lean left or right on political issues and interject slightly more opinions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated above, narrowcasting networks appeal to one type of audience, allowing the networks to add opinions into their reports to keep that one audience interested. For instance, CNN, also known as Cable News Network, is known for being more liberal whereas Fox News leans more conservative. This creates bias because if you watch CNN news today, for example, Donald Trump will be portrayed as an evil being. However, Fox News is known for saying Trump is an outstanding, fantastic president. Depending on the news network you watch and/or read will affect the opinion of President ... It can cause a variety of issues including diseases, mental and physical issues, and bodily functions start to degrade. Is the use of modern day technology harmful to one s health? Mental and physical health is worsening because of modern day technology. Studies show that constant exposure to screens changes the neural circuitry of developing brains, leading to shorter attention spans, stunted social skills and a heightened ability to multitask (Gibson). Physical effects of technology can be blemishes caused by your phone. True or False: The electron in the receiving antenna oscillates at a lower frequency than the electron in the transmitting antenna because of the distance between the two antennas. False: when the transmitting antenna s electron oscillates, it sets up on an electromagnetic wave that oscillates at the same frequency. This wave causes the electron in the receiver to oscillate at the same frequency. Electrons, therefore, in both the transmitter and receiver (antennas) oscillate at identical frequencies. True or False: If the frequency of oscillation increases but the amplitude of the electron oscillation remains the same, then the electron in the transmitting antenna is experiencing larger accelerations (recall what you know about acceleration and motion). True: electrons must move faster as they oscillate back and forth in order for the frequency to increase while the amplitude remains the same. Delta velocity / time is a measure of the average acceleration. A larger change in velocity than at the old frequency if the electron is ovine faster towards its peak height than away from its peak height at the new frequency. Moreover, the time for this change is velocity to be seen is less than for the old frequency. These changes indicate acceleration is larger. • 14. Fake News As An Unreliable Form Of Satire The emergence and growing population of satire holds a strong position in the definition of modern journalism. The term satire has been replaced in the mainstream by the phrase fake news . This title implies an unreliable form of storytelling meant to translate to trickery, as this form of news can hold just as much power in today s media as legitimate news outlets. Regardless of it s popularity, the word fake should not be considered accurate, nor is it true to the real meaning. Satire typically aims to entertain an audience or grab its attention in a more interesting way, while news reports capture an event simply as it was. However, both forms of news may be guilty of carrying bias in their stories, one more obviously than the other. Fake news , still a form of journalism, carries a satirical form of political commentating that is still necessary in the world of reporting, just in a different format and done for a different purpose. The success and impact of satirical news stories rely on the consumer s ability to understand this form of irony. If this effect is achieved, a story can be just as beneficial as any other form of media. Popular satirical figure John Oliver agreed with this in reference to the use of irony in relation to the viewer, stating in an interview that his job required making jokes about the news and sometimes we need to research things deeply to understand them. • 16. The Pros And Cons Of Solar And Wind Energy According to President Barack Obama, There is one issue that will define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate. The main reason for global warming is the increment of using fossil fuels as a key source of energy across the board, so some developed countries have started to transform the non renewable power sources to renewable resources. Solar and wind energy systems are two kinds of renewable source of energy. Even if solar and wind power differ in methods of generating power, they bring similar benefits to the society and environment. Solar and wind energy have different processes to produce electricity. Solar energy creates electricity by making large amounts of heat, which is conducted through electrical conductors and changed into electrical power. In most solar systems, solar panels mounted on the roof. These panels contain photovoltaic cells made from silicon that convert incoming sunlight into electricity instead of heat. ( Photovoltaic means electricity from light photo = light, voltaic = electricity.) The photons of the sunlight knock the electrons from the silicon, as a result, the negatively electrons accumulate in one side of the silicon cell to create electrical voltage. His initial idea of shooting his rifle to scare it rather than kill it would have been the easier option. The option provided less guilt and pain. He would not have had to waste so many shots on killing the poor creature, who did not die until half an hour later with multiple shots in his brain, heart, and throat. • 22. Analysis Of The Poem Twenty One Love Poems By Adrienne... Adrienne Rich was a highly acclaimed twentieth century poet who railed against war and the injustices in the world, and also used imagery that spoke tenderly of love feelings that she sensed were both highly individual for her, but also universal. Twenty One Love Poems were written between 1974 1976 to her lover of the time, and they track the course of the relationship through the sweet beginning stages, the development of mature love, and all the way through to its dissolution due to her partner s seeming inability to come out and admit to her homosexuality at a time in society when relationships between women were not endorsed or supported. The language in these poems is very rich and weaves both ugly city imagery and elegant metaphors and similes together, with the apparent intention of making the reader search inside to see if the images and ideas conveyed by the language can be applied to the reader s own experience of living too. While these poems are highly individualistic and at times very personal, this impressive and moving body of poetic accomplishment also reflects themes to which all human beings can relate. In an interview with Kate Waldman in The Paris Review, Rich herself states that: As long as I can remember I have cared about the timbre, the phrasing of a poetic line. The contractile cells sustain stable membrane resting potential when they are unstimulated, however, the resting potential of the autorhythmic cells, that create the intrinsic conduction system, is unstable and is constantly depolarizing, which is called pacemaker potentials and initiate the action potential that causes the heart to contract (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). The pace maker potential occurs because of the ion channels which causes hyperpolarization at the end of the action potentials.
