Ruthie Witmer CI 350-201 5/3/2014 SOLVING EQUATIONS Wednesday: Day 3 Analyze Learner The 7th class is made up of 24 students. 20 of the students are Caucasians, 3 are African- Americans, and 1 student is Asian American. There are 10 boys and 14 girls. These students have all been placed in an advanced placement course. State Objective Students will solve systems of equations using methods of substitution and elimination by reading and acting out Pinterestโs Solving Equations Using Substitution โHowToonโ and by watch a YouTube video of the method of elimination. The students will be able to solve with 90% accuracy. Select Methods, Media, and Materials The students will start the class period by watching a video of solving system of equations by methods of elimination. We will then work in groups at the board. Next we will act out the cartoon of solving with substitution. Utilize Media and Materials I will bring my video on a flash drive to class as well as post a link on Twitter. I will have a copy of the Pinterest cartoon of solving systems of equations by methods of substation for each student, they will then be broken up in to groups to learn and practice.
- 2. Require Learner Participation Every student will participate in the group assignment in class. They will only be graded on participation for today. Evaluate and Revise The students will only be graded on participation for today. They will also have time to work on the Webquest that is due at the end of the week.
