The presentation introduces a recent project by Vodafone's User Experience team to engage with people passionate about the environment in collaborative design and open prototyping. The resulting innovative concept designs focused on collecting data about emission-causing activities, and using that data to promote self-awareness of impact and to stimulate change. The presentation also covers some of the things learned from these projects, and others encountered along the way.
Ontology engineering, along with semantic Web technologies, allow the semantic development and modeling of the operational flow required for blockchain design. The semantic Web, in accordance with W3C, "provides a common framework that allows data to be shared and reused across application, enterprise, and community boundaries" and can be seen as an integrator for various content, applications and information systems. The most widely used blockchain modelling system, by abstract representation, description and definition of structure, processes, information and resources, is the enterprises modelling. Enterprise modelling uses domain ontologies by model representation languages.

Online social networks have practically a go-to source for information divulging, social exchanges and finding new friends. The popularity of such sites is so profound that they are widely used by people belonging to different age groups and various regions. Widespread use of such sites has given rise to privacy and security issues. This paper proposes a set of rules to be incorporated to safeguard the privacy policies of related users while sharing information and other forms of media online. The proposed access control network takes into account the content sensitivity and confidence level of the accessor to resolve the conflicting privacy policies of the co-owners.

Can Crowdsourcing be used for policy? Previous work posits that the three types of Crowdsourcing have different levels of potential usefulness when applied to the various stages of the policy cycle. In this paper, we build upon this exploratory work by categorizing the extant research with respect to Crowdsourcing for the policy cycle. Premised upon our analysis, we thereafter discuss the trends, highlight the gaps, and suggest some approaches to empirically validate the application of Crowdsourcing to the policy cycle.

Crowdsourcing is an online, distributed problem solving and production model that revolutionized the internet and mobile market at present. It turns the customers into designer and marketers. The practice of Crowdsourcing is transforming the web and giving rise to a new field. Today the leading enterprises are embracing the next paradigm shift in the distribution of work by outsourcing to the crowd in the cloud. Everyday millions of people make all kind of voluntary online contribution. With the number of people online approaching 3 billion by 2016 and projected to reach 5 billion by 2020, new workforce has emerged that are now used for different purposes. Available on-demand this workforce has abundant capacity and the expertise knowledge to perform work from simple to complex and solve problems and grand challenges. This paper gives an introduction to Crowdsourcing, its theoretical grounding, model and examples with case study. In this paper we show that Crowdsourcing can be applied to wide variety of problems and that it raises numerous interesting technical and social challenges. Finally this paper proposes an agenda for using Crowdsourcing in NLP.

At present, the state-of-the-art supplies for conducting a face-to-face design thinking workshop typically consists of self-stick notes and stickers, markers, and whiteboards. However, this analog way of working is incongruent with the realities of global software companies, where most products and services are developed by distributed teams. This paper explores the process of facilitating remote design thinking workshops, using information technology and communication tools. The paper is based on a participatory action research undertaken by the author as a part of the doctoral thesis - ‘a study on an approach to prepare the organization mindset to build design-led innovation culture to become a customer-centric and future driven software company’ in the Indian IT sector. The participating company realized the innovation breakthroughs using design thinking can happen only when their organization can collaborate across disciplines, silos, time zones; and were looking for a solution to scale design thinking in their organization. In October 2019, a group of human-centered designers,
agilists, data scientists, and other technology enablement
practitioners joined to share their thoughts about a topic of
common interest: How should the principles and practices of
human-centered design, Agile development, and the
overarching process of HCDAgile be applied to products that
have no obvious user interface?
The group’s objective was to develop guidance based upon
shared knowledge across disciplines and industries for
leveraging HCDAgile in data projects. In this paper we share
our initial observations from the meeting.

Model-driven Development of Social Network-enabled ApplicationsMarco Brambilla
Social technologies are transforming the Web to a place where
users actively contribute to content production and opinion making. Social
networking requirements are becoming a core part of the needs of modern
enterprises too, which need ad-hoc Web platforms that incorporate the right
set of social features for their business. This leads to the need to provide facilities
and methods for developing such socially enabled applications. In
this paper we propose a model-driven approach that is specifically focused
on the development of Web applications that exploit social features. In particular,
we describe an extension of the WebML notation (a Domain Specific
Language designed to model Web applications), comprising a set of
modeling concepts that encapsulate the logic of the interaction with the social
platforms. Upon this, we define a set of design patterns that respond to
the typical needs of enterprises and we show some sample application scenarios.

2. Introduction
• Recent studies (Kärkkäinen et al., 2012; Simula and Vuori, 2012)
demonstrate that B2B- crowdsourcing is actually possible, despite
many restrictions and related doubts.
• Conducting crowdsourcing is however clearly more challenging in the
B2B context (ibid)
• Recent studies (Marjanovic et al., 2012; Stanoevska-Slabeva, 2011)
reveal that social media seems commonly to have an important role in
crowdsourcing
• Even if crowdsourcing can be and has been carried without the aid of
computers, it seems to benefit from social media in a variety of ways,
for example by enabling crowdsourcers to reach larger crowds, more
competent crowds, or crowds with more extensive knowledge variety.
• The main objective of this study was to understand the
significance and the various roles and functions of social media
in crowdsourcing innovation –related tasks in B2B relationships

5. Research approach
• We applied netnographic research principles, designed for studying
online communities, on the observation of textual discourse in
selected social media- based crowdsourcing platforms, and the
media (platforms) themselves (Kozinets, 2002)
• Based on the literature review, we identified 104 different
crowdsourcing platforms and then performed participant observation
to sample the platforms and to especially identify crowdsourcing
platforms that have been utilized in business-to-business context as
well as concrete company cases targeted for crowdsourcing
innovation tasks.
• The participant observation included registrations to several online
platforms, browsing through the available textual discourses, and
identifying, observing and analysing the social media actions the
users have performed in the platforms. The approach included also
following various links to secondary sources in order to gain
comprehensive knowledge about the crowdsourcing platforms.

7. Results and analysis
• We discovered that the crowdsourcing platforms were
used to crowdsource simple, creative and complex
innovation tasks.
– Simple innovation tasks, that required a relatively low
involvement from the individuals, were observed to have
been crowdsourced from Kickstarter platform and uTest
platform.
– Creative innovation tasks were observed to have been
crowdsourced in Bombardier’s YouRail platform, where the
company crowdsourced new interior designs for trains.
– Most of the crowdsourced innovation tasks were however
complex in nature, such as complex problem solving
activities (e.g. solving problems of the customers on Intuit’s
platform) or generating new ideas, concepts or designs
(e.g. Konecranes’ GrabCAD challenge).

10. Conclusions
• We found that the role of social media was quite essential in
every crowdsourcing type. Most of the crowdsourcing
platforms utilized well-known social media platforms, such as
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube to enhance the
crowdsourcing initiatives.
• Social media served many different functions in B2B
crowdsourcing: making the crowdsourcing calls more
extensively visible, enabling the general networking of the
members of the crowds, and facilitating efficient sharing of
information and knowledge.
• Companies that operate in B2B markets and produce B2B
products and services can utilize the recognized and analyzed
social media- based crowdsourcing approaches as useful
models for facilitating their own open innovation activities
and experiments.
