Sample Cause And Effect Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Sample Cause And Effect Essay" can present a unique set of
challenges. First and foremost, one must possess a thorough understanding of the intricacies of
cause-and-effect relationships, as this forms the backbone of the essay. Identifying the relevant
causes and tracing their effects in a coherent and logical manner demands a keen analytical
mindset.
Additionally, the writer must carefully structure the essay to ensure a smooth flow of ideas.
Arranging the causes and effects in a logical sequence is crucial for clarity and comprehension.
The challenge lies in striking the right balance between depth and conciseness, avoiding
unnecessary details while providing sufficient evidence to support each point.
Research becomes a pivotal aspect of the process. Collecting relevant data to support the
identified causes and effects adds depth and credibility to the essay. This, however, requires time
and effort to sift through various sources and select information that aligns with the thesis.
Moreover, maintaining a clear and concise writing style is essential. Striking the right tone and
ensuring that the language is accessible to the target audience can be a fine line to walk. The
complexity of the topic may tempt the writer to delve into jargon or convoluted explanations, but
a successful essay should strive for clarity without sacrificing depth.
In conclusion, writing a compelling essay on the topic of "Sample Cause And Effect Essay"
involves a combination of analytical skills, effective organization, thorough research, and adept
writing. The difficulty lies not only in understanding the topic but also in presenting the

Bruce Rogers Research Paper
I interviewed Dr. Bruce Rogers, a school psychologist about his experiences with
children having childhood onset fluency disorder. I asked Dr. Rogers what the
requirements are to work with children who have childhood onset fluency disorder.
He said that he didn t know the exact requirements for the speech therapists who work
with children with childhoodonset fluency disorder but he knew that they needed to
have a minimum of a master s degree. After our interview, I researched the
requirements for speech therapists in Georgia. According to the American Speech
Language Hearing Association, speech language pathologists need to have completed
their masters in an ASHA approved program. There are also continuing education
requirements for speech... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rogers, I felt that my knowledge of stuttering and its impacts definitely expanded. It
was both revealing and somewhat heartbreaking to know that although school
psychologists don t work directly with kids who stutter, they can still notice the
impact that it has on the child. Choosing childhood onset fluency disorder for this
interview was mostly influenced by my own experience with someone who
stuttered as an adult. The person who stuttered was my high school science teacher
and I vividly remember the first time people heard him speak. Kids would secretly
tease him or interrupt him when he was speaking to speed up how long he was
taking to make a point. Although I know it probably affected him a lot more when he
was younger than it did then, I was still sensitive to his communication difficulties.
My high school teacher is who I would consider a stuttering success story because
of his accomplishments. He was always known to be very intelligent, but also he
was popular at his undergraduate institution. He was so popular that he had won
homecoming king and was a member of one of the prestigious African American
fraternities. I m sure that he experienced what a lot of people who stutter don t
have the chance to experience. However, I am still forced to reflect on what his
experiences as a young child must have been like in a rural town where most kids
didn t have an issue with
The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect
The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect by Michael Seadle
In the article entitled The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect, Seadle a
copyright librarian at Michigan State University (Seadle, 2002, p. 2) examines
several ways in which the current copyright laws are antiquated for the digital world
of distance learning. Three disconnects that Seadle identifies are restrictions on
instructor materials imposed by the current definition of Fair Use, student opinion that
all information on the internet is free to be used without limitation and lastly, the
difficulties faced by publishers in protecting copyrighted work. Many of the
difficulties found in following as well as enforcing copyright laws, stem from the
vastly different time it takes for changes to occur. The technology utilized in distance
learning updates daily while copyright law is slow to update (Seadle, 2002).
Copyright Basics and Education Exemptions
Copyright is defined as the legal right to be the only one to reproduce, publish, and
sell a book, musical recording, etc. (Copyright [Def.1], n.d). In the law, copyright
protection insures that the authors are considered the owners of the work they create
and they can therefor expect compensation if the work is used by anyone other than
themselves. Copyright laws over the years have made great efforts to protect the
creators and authors of constructed works; however, the ease by which materials can
be obtained and distributed online has created
Life Theory And Answers On Life s Theory Of Life
CHAPTER 2
THEORY OF LIFE AFTER DEATH
Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into
his nostrils and the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7.
Life is where we found our purpose, fulfillment and satisfaction in life. Life is seen
in different perspective because people experience it in different ways. Life is the
reason why we are here on earth breathing and kicking. Life is where we find the
meaning of our existence choosing to have relationship with God our Father. Life is
where he challenge us to fulfill his earthly mission. According to all about world
view, the guide to understand the deeper understanding of life is through Holy
Bible. It clearly gives tangible examples and practical rules for living in accordance
with God s plan for your life. If there is life, there is death. There is still end for
everything No man ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the avoidance of death. God is all powerful, all knowing, all good, and present in
everywhere. Then, why God did not allow us to be immortal? Why do we die?
Why can t we just live forever? There are reasons why God did not allow us to be
immortal. He did that for us to know that He is definitely above every little thing.
We are made in His likeness, but we will never be like Him. Another thing is, He is
perfect, and He could not make other things perfect, too. God, himself, is the only
perfect for us to understand that He has more authority. He is always above us. He
allowed mortality and death for us to learn that we could not live without Him. He
also made us mortal so that we can be destroyed if we do not obey Him and His
words. As stated in Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of
God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We will only have the ability to be
immortal if we follow and love Him and our neighbors. It helps us follow a path and
guidance to love and take care each
Maximum Absorbance Of Fast Green And Chlorophyls
The overall purpose of this experiment is to find the maximum absorbance of Fast
Green and chlorophylls a and b. The concentration curve of Fast Green was used to
determine the unknown concentration of unknown #17. Different techniques,
graphical or experimental, were used in this experiment such as absorbance spectrum
graphs and the use of blanks to recalibrate the spectrophotometer. Lightis a part of the
electromagnetic spectrum that varies in wave from radio waves to gamma rays. The
human eye can only detect the visible light portion of the spectrum; a range of
wavelengths (nm) from 400 nm to 700 nm. Electromagnetic radiationcan be described
as a stream of massless particles called photons that move in a wavelike motion at the
speed of light. A spectrophotometer is an instrument used to measure the amount of
amount of photons (absorbance of light) that passes through a sample solution over a
given wavelength. It does this by using a white light source that travels through a
prism, the prism separates the white light into narrow portions of the radiant energy.

Fast Green is used for specific staining procedures, for example protein, where is it
used to better illustrate the presence of histones through a marker dye. For this part
the experiment, the objective is to achieve the concentration curve of five known
concentrations to find the unknown concentration through Beer Lamberts Law. The
concentration curve is also known as the calibration curve, both involve a graph with
the concentration variables on the abscissae and the absorbance numbers on the
ordinate. The absorbance spectrum of the Fast Green solution must be determined
before obtaining the concentration curve. The maximum absorbance of the solution
must be determined through the absorbance spectrum. The wavelength at the
maximum absorbance was used to determine the absorbance for the diluted Fast

Analysis Of Heather Havrilesky s No Sympathy For The
Devil
In the No Sympathy for the Devil Heather Havrilesky tells us how the appearance of
the hero influences the attitude of the audience towards him. Havrilesky claims that:
the likability of any given protagonist represents one of the most subjective
assessments you can make about a TV show (465). I agree with his statement and my
opinion can be explained with the help of the hero Damonfrom the TV show The
Vampire Diaries. Damon is one of the most evil guys in the Vampire Diaries TV
show, but sometimes he does good deeds. The main confirmation of my statement is
two good Damon s action: he saves Caroline after a car accident and protects Elena
from killing.
The first way I will agree with Havrilesky is an example of how Damon saved
Caroline after a car accident. Damon in the TV show The Vampire Diaries is
shown by an evil handsome with an unpleasant temperament. In most cases, he
does only bad things and takes care of himself, but sometimes he really surprises
the audience by helping others and doing good deeds. One of the main examples
of this behavior is when in the second season in the Brave New World series he
saves Caroline after a car accident. Damon gives her his blood so that she will
recover faster and feels better. Unfortunately, Caroline is killed and she becomes a
vampire. After all the events, Caroline s mom finds out the truth, but even here
Damon does not give in. He supports Caroline and tries to reconcile them with
Mom. In the end, Caroline and Damon become friends. Thus, it becomes clear that
even bad characters in a TV show can do good deeds. But in fact, if you think for a
minute, each viewer is sick and sympathetic to Damon, despite all the bad things he
does. Havrilesky says: For the past decade, TV has been awash with deeply flawed
antiheroes: philandering ad men and pill popping nurses, meth cooking chemistry
teachers and mob boss suburban dads. But when you launch a show that s centered
on an unethical protagonist, how do you keep viewers engaged and invested in that
character indefinitely or at least through six seasons? (465).The author says that a
really negative hero forces viewers to follow him to the very end. Watching how his
life develops. It s the bad characters that
Differences Between Domesticated And Wild Animals
There are notable differences between domesticated and wild animals. They are
more obvious when compared between different breeds of the same species. For
most domesticated species, the variations within an organism are usually descended
from a single wild species. Variation arises from natural selection, and refers to
variation both within and between species. Darwin did not believe that all
domesticated species arises from a common wild ancestor, however, modern genetics
disproves this.
Research shows that all domesticated dogs arise from their wild ancestor, the
wolves. Similar trends are found in other domesticated animals like cats, horses,
cows, and birds. Specifically, I will be analyzing the trends in domestication of fowl
and poultry. Fowl includes two orders of birds: landfowl (chicken, quail, pheasant)
and waterfowl (duck, goose, swan). Fowl typically refers to wild birds. Poultry
indicates birds that are domesticated and raised for meat or eggs. By analyzing the
behavior, evolution species variation, and domestication of birds, we can determine
the traits selected for different species. Through domestication, many breeds of birds
have evolved with alterations that could be seen as adaptations to the environment.
Behavior of Wild Fowl It is widely known that the domestication of an organism
involves numerous changes: genetically, physically, socially, mentally. An interesting
occurrence to note is reduction in brain size from wild to domestic animals. As

Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay
As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human
hearts and minds. This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point
of clichГ©. Everyone has heard the optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The
Beatles are certain, however idyllic it may be, that all you need is love. Humanity
is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its power to
both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. Loves
power has suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the
feeling instilled in man by love comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise.

The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its
presence, that is, through a vision of Love himself or through being close to
Beatrice. In their second encounter, nine years later, Beatrice is walking down the
street where Dante is standing in fear and trembling. As she passes him, she greets
him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to
experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses
reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. (5) It is after this encounter that
Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego
dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in
one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the
two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by
Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as
devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their
will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong
is his devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of
such a state weighs heavily on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil
and causes his friends to grow concerned. About inquiries into the cause of his pain,
Dante says, in obedience to Love s will, [...] I replied that it was Love who had
Blindness Or Low Vision, Cancer, And Alzheimer s Disease
Blindness or low vision is one of the most feared illness by Americans, ranking
fourth after acquired immunodeficiency by syndrome, cancer, and Alzheimer s
disease. The National Eye Institute reports that blindness or low vision affect 3.3
million American 40 years and older, this number is projected to reach 5.5 million
by 2020. As the U.S. population ages, the number of persons with major eye disease
is increasing. Octogenarians currently make up 8 percent of the population, but they
account for 69 percent of blindness. Age related macular degeneration (AMD)
accounts for 54 percent of all blindness and is the leading cause of blindness
among white Americans. Cataracts are the most prevalent eye disease in older
persons and are the leading cause of blindness worldwide. Almost all persons in
their 90s will have had a cataract surgery is the most common therapeutic surgical
procedure reimbursed by Medicare, with more than 1.5 million operations performed
annually. Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of new blindness in U.S. adults
20 to 74 years of age. Low visionranks behind arthritis and heart disease as the third
most common chronic cause of impaired function in persons older than 70 years.
Patients with vision impairment are more likely to fall, make medication errors, have
depression, or report social isolation. With rehabilitation, many patients with impaired
vision can attain independence, retain their jobs, and lessen their reliance on social

Discuss The Arguments For Banning Sulphuric Acid
PbO2 + Pb + 2H2SO4 ↔ 2PbSO4 + 2H2O The reaction of lead and lead oxide with
the sulfuric acid electrolyte produces a voltage. The supplying of energy to and
external resistance the battery. When a lead acid battery cell produces energy, it
converts chemical energy into electrical energy. During this process, Lead is
oxidised at the anode according to this equation: Pb(s) в†’ Pb2+(aq) + 2e The
reduction process in lead acid batteries occurs at the cathode, as shown above. Lead
(from lead dioxide) is reduced at the cathode by protons in the sulphuric acid:
PbO2(s) + 4H+(aq) + 2e в†’ Pb2+(aq) + 2H2O(l) In order to galvanise iron or steel,
sulphuric acid is used to remove oxides. An oxidant is a reactant that oxidises or

The main sources of pollution caused by this process are process wastes and
emissions of contaminated air. Acid rain is one of the emissions that contributes to
pollution. The process of smelting sulphide ores produces sulphur dioxide gas; this
chemical reacts in the atmosphere to form a mist, which then falls to earth as acid
rain. To reduce this effect, new technology has been created and plays an important
role in reducing smelting related pollution. Previously, old smelting machines were
the cause of most of the sulphur dioxide generators. Using machines such as
electrostatic precipitators, almost all of the sulphur is captured prior to the emission
and returned to the

Disadvantages Of Millenniums
The Millenniums are being defined as the group of individuals that are born
between the years of 1982 and 2000 approximately. They are also the generation that
is considered Generation Y. Millenniums are not their parents and grandparents that
believed it so very important as an adult to settle down and get married. The previous
generation was always about finding a career and settling down for stability. The
stability angle is the getting a career and putting down roots by securing a home. The
Y generation is the generation that has a single parentingand less stability than the
generations prior. The Y generation has had the ability to live with the helicopter
down parents that hoover over them and short the ability to grow and learn.
Millenniums are not making purchases of homes because they are still living at
home with their parents. The fact that most of the Y generation fail to launch out of
their parents home to gain the career and stability could be through the concept of
the parents limiting the growth of their children by being the helicopter parent. The
helicopter parent hovers over the child to the point that they are not able to make
decisions in a form. The anxiousness of the parent leads to the disbelief that these
children even as legal adults that they can make routine decisions on their own. The
inability to make decisions as a young person stalled their ability to thrive, make
decisions and fail to learn a better way to live life.
Film Adaptation Of Poe s The Porcelain Doll
For our silent film project, we will be creating a film adaptation of Poe s The Black
Cat called The Porcelain Doll. This film is about a person who lives with a
roommate, and has a porcelain doll that they ve loved dearly since their childhood.
However, one day the person comes home upset and throws the doll down,
knocking one of the eyes out. Devastated about the damage, the person throws the
doll in the trash. The roommate is a bit surprised and kind of frightened by this,
given the fact that the doll had been loved exceedingly by the person in the past.

confused since they didn t order anything, the person opens the box to find a similar

person waves an arm, showing that the house is theirs to search. Cut to a shot of
the door, we see the knob rattle. The policemen see this, and, a little later, so does
the person. The person tries to stop the knob from rattling, but the policemen are
already heading over. The person gives up and lets the policemen unlock and open
the door. There is nothing there, to the relief of the person. Then, the roommate
comes running up the stairs and out of the basement. The police ask if the
roommate rattled the doorknob, but the roommate seems to have no idea what
they re talking about. Puzzled, the person leans in closer to the door. We cut to a

to the camera. All of a sudden, the doll leaps out from behind the camera and onto
the person, attacking them. The screen goes black. This serves as a PG version of
the original tale, but without sacrificing any of the crucial plot points of the source
material. Most of the video will be shot on a tripod, with some handheld shots as

Diary Entry 1
July 31, 1943
My name is Primo Michele Levi. Todays my birthday. I am 24 years old, born in
Turin, Italy. I have one sibling, Anne Maria Levi. Anne Maria and I have always
been very close, I was always considered small and shy, and I was a frequent target
of bullying. I also thought poorly of myself aswell, I often thought others viewed
me as ugly and scrawny. I had also excelled academically, always having straight A
s and was the smartest student in my grade. By early teens I had liked chemistry a
lot. When I was 11 I entered the Massimo d Azeglio Royal Gymnasium. In class I
was the youngest, the shortest, and the smartest. I was also the only Jewish kid.
When I was 13 I joined the Avanguardisti movement. I joined the ski division, and
spent every Saturday during the season on the skiing above Turin. When I was 17, I
failed my final exam. It was my first bad grade ever. At the end of the summer I
took the exam again and passed, and in October. I got into the University of Turin
to study chemistry. I spent three months taking classes, and in February, after
passing my oral exam, I was chosen to do a full time chemistry class. In 1941, I
graduated. Today, my family and I are fleeing to northern Italy, where we plan to join
an Italian resistance group.

Essay On Girls Golf
The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil offered golf as a competitive
sport for the first time since the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, Missouri. Both
men and women were allowed to compete.
As golf continues to make advances in the world, Steilacoom High School follows in
pursuit. While boys golf has had an established team at Steilacoom for the last
decade, the same cannot be said for girls golf. However, the new school year brings
new change, and with that, a newly established girls golf team.
Prior to the 2015 2016 school year, Steilacoom had a small girls golf team
comprised of six or more girls. As those girls graduated, they left an unmotivated and
uninspired group in their wake. When the 2015 2016 school year came around, there
were not enough girls willing to try out to even form a team. Sophomore Ari Oranga

Despite a surge of interest in girls golf, many students are still hesitant to try out.
Sophomore Olivia Woo said, I don t know enough about golf. Even if i wanted to

had similar responses. Their lack of knowledge about golf keeps them from pursuing
the sport.
Another reason many high school girls are shying away is the fact that girls golf is
not a big, established team. Unlike the camaraderie in soccer or volleyball, the girls
golf team is quiet and relatively unknown. Sophomore Yun Yung Jeonge said, I feel
like the team aspect is not there. It is more of an individual sport. I don t know much
about it, but it doesn t sound much
Postmodern Influence On Revelations
The first model proclaims that revelation only conspires in scripture and doctrines
of the church. These statements were greatly active in the Roman Orthodox, which
is set that those Holy Spirit powers were given due their time. Contradicting, these
models did show the grace of God in past times, it fails to show postmodern views
in which revelation has occurred in today s society. The second contends on an idea
of studying history, that will convey a form in revelation in due time. History does
repeat itself in many cases, though it does not hinder any spiritual guidance. Learning
from history will draw people more close to the word, though revelation could happen
when Godwants it. For example of John, when he was cast to Patmos, while if
The World s Post-Apocalypse
Post Apocalypse refers to the era following a significant catastrophic event or an
utter collapse of a great empire or civilization; ultimately, the struggle for power
never ends and war never changes. That being the case, Fallout 4 could be regarded
as an exemplary exemplification of this genre because it is classified as a post
apocalyptic survival videogame that thoroughly illustrates the formation of the
hazardous environment known as the Wasteland after the total annihilation of
United States of America caused by a nuclear apocalypse. First of all, there are three
major eras in the history of the Wasteland: the Pre War era, The Great War, and the

catastrophe,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, it is an undeniable fact that any law and order diminishes following the
collapse of civilization. Under this circumstance, it is clear that the Wasteland is
ruled by anarchy and chaos. To illustrate, there are post modern anarchists known as
the Raiders. They are known as the savages and barbarians of the Wasteland who
pillage small farming communities, rape, torture, and murder the settlers of those
communities. The only people who stand up against the raiders are the
Commonwealth Minutemen, a post war patriot organization consisted of volunteers
who strive to liberate and protect small communities from various threats as well as
the desire to rebuild the annihilated nation. Even though the wasteland is under
anarchy and chaos, the nuclear apocalypse never ended the war in the post war era.
There are large organizations, newly formed republics, and gangs who are waging a
war to seize territory and a control over the wasteland. For example, the Brotherhood
of Steel is an organization of Knights whose main focus is obtaining control over the
land and seize all technology
Why Did North Korea To Launch A Ballistic Missile
Recently, many Eastern Asian countries have been faced with the facts that the
D.P.R.K or in other words North Korea, can and may launch a ballistic missile at
their homeland. North Korea has been in the missile making business for about five
and a half decades, and working frantically to develop an ICBM or intercontinental
ballistic missilethat can reach the mainland of the United States. The D.P.R.K s main
goal is to continue testing and finally launch a missile at the United States. This can
be tracked down to the time of Kim Il Sung, and Soviet influence. When North Korea
finally gets to the capacity, when they can launch an ICBM, they will not stop until
the United States is destroyed. This is why North Korea will keep up their missile...

States bases in the Pacific. The developing missiles could potentially be capable of
a range of 7,000 to 9,500 kilometers and hold a 500 to 700 ton warhead. Recent,
evidence suggests that North Korea is developing multi stage missiles which can
travel much longer distances than a single stage missile. In addition to multi stage

Management Styles
Management is a far running subject and there are many definitions of management.
From my point of view, management is described as a process to get something done
in the business environment. It is the person called Manager who gets various jobs
done by assign works to people working with him/her. How the Manager can get the
things done effectively and efficiently is an important problem that should be
researched. Robert Tannenbaum and Warren H. Schmidt (1958, 1973), who argued
that the style of leadership is dependent upon the prevailing circumstance, therefore
leaders should exercise a range of management styles and deploy them as
appropriate. In fact, a management style is an overall method of leadership used by a

Apart from culture and law, different business customs also can influence
management styles. Business custom is part of a nation s culture. It has been formed
in a long time, maybe several decades, several countries, or even thousands years such
as China and Japan. The custom includes how to manage enterprise, how to treat
customers, how to get along with leaders and subordinates. Different countries and
economic systems have different answers and standards. For example, in China, face
issue is important for individuals in traditional custom. And appreciation or
encouragements should be made before any criticism. If managers point out
employees mistake in front of other workers directly, the employee might feel
ashamed and reluctant to cooperate with the manager in future, which surely will
bring barriers to management. There are also various customs in different regions,
management styles are also changing according to such differences.
I would like to take Japan and the US as examples to discuss how these key factors,
culture, policy, and customs influence management styles in specific circumstances.
Obviously, Japan and the US display an obvious contrast in the aspect of culture,
society and ideology, etc. I would like to discuss the features of Japan and the US at
first.
First of all, the US is a nation with a large number of immigrants, which determines
that its national culture is identified with individualism. As is known to all, the US is
Flanker Brands
A brand portfolio is all the lines and brands that a company offers. The four brand
roles in a brand portfolio are flankers, cash cows, low end entry, and high end
prestige (Kotler Keller, 2012, p. 123). Flanker brands are usually in addition to a
brand that is offering a high quality product at a higher price (Giddens). The flanker
is supposed to help gain market share without cannibalizing the main brand. A good
example of a flanker brand is Squire Guitars. Squire guitars are about half the price
as Fender guitars. They all look very similar but are lower quality and most are made
at a lower cost outside the United States. Cash cow brands generally have dwindling
sales but remain profitable. They require minimal marketingsupport so
Separation Of Powers Essay
The notion Separation of Powers was put into place with one single objective: to
keep any form of authority or government establishment from ruling with an iron fist.
Once America gained her independence from monarchal Britain, the framers made
sure that no one branch or person could have too much power. Thus, this system of
separation of powerswas divided into three government branches, each of which was
designated certain individual powers. This system, also known as Checks and
Balances, proposed by the Founding Fathers of the United Statesof America, is
embodied in the U.S. Constitution in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd articles. These powers are
allocated in such a way that each branch must check the other, keeping their

resulting in removal from office. The third article, the judicial branch, illustrates
judicial powers, statutes of jurisdiction and trial by jury, and treason. All federal and
supreme courts, which make up the judicial branch, should settle any dispute
presented to them free of prejudice or partiality; they are essentially responsible for
enforcing the law ( Separation of Powers An Overview ). So how is it then that these
branches prohibit each other from becoming too dominant? For instance, the
executive branch has the power to veto any bill that is passed by the Congress
(legislative branch). However, when the president appoints Supreme Court judges,

Analysis Of Vonnegut s Breakfast Of Champions
In Breakfast of Champions, Vonnegut may be using a satiristic approach to
criticize the United States of America. In the beginning, Vonnegut states, Breakfast
of Champions is a registered trademark of General Mills, Inc., for use on a
breakfast cereal product. The use of the identical expression as the title for this
book is not intended to indicate an association with or sponsorship by General
Mills, nor is it intended to disparage their fine products. (1) Originating from
Wheaties, Vonnegut may be making fun of the company in a sarcastic tone, which
states the tone for the rest of the book. In his satire, Vonnegut refers to the people
who did not receive anything (regarding money, or objects) as ones who have
doodley squat, and the humans in the proletariat class are often referred to machines,
working for the bourgeoisie. In his novel, Vonnegut to get his point across about the
various problems in society, such as raceissues, uneven distribution of money,
societal norms, and chemical dependency through his use of allusions, and symbols.
One of the major issues addressed in the satire, that Vonnegut may be criticizing, is
the issue of race. Vonnegut is constantly conscious of race and slavery. For example,
he ll refer to the white nurse , white male adult (91), the black man and the Vonnegut
says things like, the sea pirates who had the most to do with the creation of the new
government owned human slaves. They used human beings for machinery... and the
Biology Personal Statement
Although I remain undecided for my future, I know I want to study the biological

fun, engaging, and interesting. I also joined my middle school s S.M.A.R.T team,
allowing me to study the functions of proteins in the human body. Although this

Never confuse the size of your paycheck with the size of your talent. Marlon Brando.
This is very true when it comes to supporting actors. Many times the supporting
actors will get payed less than the lead actors, of course there are exceptions to that

What Does Darkness Symbolize In Macbeth
Light and dark are common symbols in many pieces of literature. Often, light
represents good and dark represents evil. The same is true in Macbeth, by William
Shakespeare. In this play, the main character Macbeth begins as a military general
with the title of Thane of Glamis. He receives a prophecy that states he will become
king, igniting a thirst for power. The thane becomes paranoid and commits many
murders, leading him down a dark path. Throughout Macbeth, Shakespeare uses
darkness as a symbol for evil and furthers this illustration to mirror Macbeth s decline
into shadow. At the beginning of the play, Shakespeare characterizes Macbeth as an
honored man who is full of the lightand greatness of nobility. For example, after

While contemplating the murder of King Duncan, the Thane of Glamis
soliloquizes, Stars, hide your fires; / Let not light see my black and deep desires

will expose his malicious intentions for King Duncan. He also describes his intents
as black, revealing their malevolence. In addition, during his conversation with
Lady Macbeth before Banquo s death, Macbeth says to himself, Come, seeling

As Macbeth commits his malicious deeds, he calls upon the night to hide his
actions. His confidence grows as he commits more and more murders, continuing
his path towards ruthlessness. Through Ross, Shakespeare reveals the darkness
that is spreading as a result of Macbeth s cruelty. After the guests of Inverness

Normal Saline Use in Trauma Patients
For decades prehospital providers have been treating trauma patients by initiating
intravenous access and administering crystalloid fluids. The debate has been over
what crystalloid fluid to administer for volume replacement, at what amount, and if
we should be administering fluids at all. Many products are available and much
research has been conducted with results showing that not all fluids are created equal.
Some products have the ability to replace volume but provide little more benefit and
may actually be harmful. Other products, when administered at much lower volumes,
provide far greater benefits and greater potential for a positive outcome for the
patient. Most ground ambulances carry Sodium Chloride 0.9% (Normal Saline) even
though all research shows that its performance is inferior in comparison to other
fluids. In this paper we will look at several recent studies, in which the effects of fluid
administration/volume replacement in hypovolemic trauma patients are measured,
with a concentrated look at normal saline.
So what happens to a trauma patient when they are bleeding? Most people will
instinctively make an attempt to keep the blood inside their body because they know
it is better to have it inside you than on the ground right? And when first responders
arrive they are well trained to identify bleeding and control it. Pressure, dressings,
ice, elevation and even tourniquets are used to keep the red stuff inside this patient s
body. If we can t see the

the person who stands back and has control over their emotions uses the pen best.

Music Influences On The Music
Introduction
Nowadays listening to music is a widespread phenomenon all over the world. People
tend to listen to it
on a daily basis wherever they are: in a public transport, gym, shop and etc. As well
as bringing the
relaxation effect, music can help to concentrate better while studying or working or
even bring an
inspiration. Moreover, according to scientists, our brain tends to react on our
favourite music in the
same way as it would react on some delicious food or a psychoactive drug such as
cocaine (Jha, 2011). In
fact, I m not an exception. Since my parents are both musicians, I grew up in a
musical environment and
got used to listen to it regularly. However, I noticed one interesting thing: the music,
that I listen to
influences my mood constantly, my thoughts and my emotions. Therefore, this is the
main reason that
influenced my topic choice. The main aim of this research is to understand whether
the music influences
other people s feeling or not.
Literature Review
At first sight it can seem that music is nothing special, but just a set of sounds
without any strong
meaning. However, music is something completely different: it has a strong
significance and a huge
influence on lots of spheres of life. According to researchers from the University of
Groningen: Music is
not only able to affect your mood listening to particularly happy or sad music can
even change the
way we perceive the world (University of Groningen, 2011).
Waiting For Godot, By Judy Hegarty Lovett
Waiting for Godot is known to be a classic example of Theater of the Absurd ,
drama using the neglect of conventional dramatic form to portray the ineptness of
human struggle in a meaningless world. Director Judy Hegarty Lovett and actor
Conor Lovett s Beckett work with Gare St Lazare Players Ireland has gained them
a reputation as two of the world s foremost Beckett interpreters. Judy Hegarty
Lovett and her husband, Conor Lovett, had a very successful year in 2014. I was
very interested to see if this director/actor power couple held up to all the hype, and
I was delighted to see such a strong performance by both. Conor, although working
in a lot of solo plays the past year, was a pleasure to watch, and well deserved his
Stage award for Acting Excellence, in 2014, for Title and Deed. Judy Hegarty did an
outstanding job in the production of Waiting for Godotwith the use of the simplicity
of the character s needs, and subtle comical nature.
Although reading this play was entertaining, it was a lot more eye opening in
theaters. Throughout director Judy Hegarty Lovett s enactment, I was able to
uncover themes within the performance that I was not aware of previously. With the
help of absurdity and comedy, she effectively portrayed themes of choice, time, and
uncertainty.
Waiting for Godot consists of two men, Vladimir (Didi) played by Conor Lovett and
Estragon (Gogo) played by Gary Lydon. Together they partake in many insignificant
actions while trying to kill time

Panama uses US dollar as currency since 1904 so that dollarization results in low

foreign companies.
Tourism is the fastest growing industry in Panama, according to statistics provided
by the Panama Tourism Bureau, IPAT (STATISTICS REPORT 1997 2006), in 2007
the tourism industry contributed $1.45 billion dollars to the nation s economy. This
amount represents 9.5 percent of Panama s total Gross Domestic Product, making it
the largest single industry in the country (Panama Canal Cruise). By comparison, in
2006 the Panama Canal generated $1.08 billion dollars in income while the total
economic impact of the Colon Free Zone was a paltry $696.2 million dollars.

Compare And Contrast The Motives Of European
Imperialism
Imperialism is the extension of a country s power and influence through means such
as colonization or military force. During both the Colonial Era and the Age of
Imperialism, European nations acted on imperialist policies and established colonies.
The motives that shaped European colonization in the two periods were economically
and politically similar, however the 19th century motives for imperialismput more of
an emphasis on religion and ethnocentrisms while Colonial Era imperialism was more
affected by exploratory motives.
The political and economic motivations for colonization and imperialism during the
two eras were in nature. European countries were motivated by economic interests to
expand. The economic reasons for expansion during the Age of Imperialism were
similar to those during the Colonial Era. During both periods, European nations
experienced economic expansion. Economic expansion created a demand for cheap
labor, access to natural resources, and the creation of new markets. After the advent

spread Western culture. Unlike during the Colonial Era, colonialismduring the Age of
Imperialism was less about displacement, and more about assimilation. The white
man s burden was another concept, which propelled imperialism during the 19th
century. European imperial nations believed that their culture was superior to those
of the regions they invaded. Imperial conquest was perceived as part of the duty of

My topic is the diaper. My central idea is disposable and cloth diapers for babies.
Disposable diapers were important because you didn t have to wash your diapers

How I Build A Personal Computer
How to Build a Personal Computer
Building your own PC (personal computer) is a both informative and cost effective
method when you are in need of a computer. The process of selecting compatible
parts is the most difficult part of building your own computer, but luckily assembling
everything is a very easy process that will be outlined in the following pages.
Step 1: Preparing your workspace
The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best
workplace available to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest
worry to have while constructing a brand new computer and there are precautions to
take whether you are on a solid smooth surface, or more importantly, on carpet. First
and foremost, the most important item to have on hand is an anti static wrist strap.
The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD (electrostatic discharge) that could
possibly damage the components during assembly. Another important aspect is to
keep the area free of clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for easy
movement around the computer case. Take care when moving and unwrapping the
parts to avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the fragile edges of things
such as the motherboard, memory, and video card. Once everything has been removed
from its protective wrapping, you can begin piecing everything together.
Step 2: Installing the motherboard
The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with
The Hipaa Act Of 1996
What is the HIPAA Act of 1996?
HIPAA, what is it? It is privacy, control, and peace of mind. You have the right for
your medical information to be kept confidential. You have the right to decide
whether or not family members are privy to your medical information. If you are
changing jobs, why worry about health insurance coverage. Picture this. A woman
called a local hospital and inquired about the condition of a patient. She was
informed by the nurse that the patient was on a ventilator and could not talk. Even
though interaction seems perfectly harmless, it was actually a clear violation of
the privacy of the patient. A prescription for a local analgesic was presented to the
pharmacist for a patient with a name similar to a patient already on file. The
prescription was filled for the current patient who was actually the father, and not
the patient. The pharmacist assumed that the patient was the father and shared with
the patient that there was another medication that he had filled for you and asked,
Would you also like to pick up that medication also ? The father was not present
and therefore could not object to the sharing of this information with the son. In the
past, if you had a preexisting disease such as chronic fatigue or pregnancy, you
could be denied health care coverage. Because Congress stepped in to assist and fix
the healthcare system, denial of insurance because of a preexisting disease is not
accepted. In view of this significant law, this paper will
Essay On Invasion Of Privacy
The interest in privacy has been continually growing since the late nineteenth century
and will only keep growing as technology continues to improve. Privacy and
technology go hand in hand with today s society being so dependent on electronic
devices. The new movement towards law enforcement wearing body cameras has
raised a few concerns over the protection of privacy. For as long as the U.S. has been
established there have been laws and regulations set in place regarding privacy; the
right to be let alone. Confidentiality laws give citizens the ability to bring a lawsuit
against anyone who invades his or her privacy. For this same amount of time there
have been laws set in place, law enforcement officers have been accused of unjust
and offensive actions regarding ones secrecy. In the late 1970 s due to the numbers of
complaints growing the policedepartment made a step towards solving this issue
and they implemented the first dashcam in the patrol cars. When this device was
brought to the police force it provided clear evidence to be used in the court rooms.
With today s use of cell phones to video and provide evidence about a certain
situation, many police forces are adapting the new bodycam to use while on duty. The

Life During College And After College
Life during college and after college can be very stressful. Teenagers are emerging
into young adults while college graduates are preparing for the real world. These
young grown ups are now responsible of their own health, school life, and financial
condition (Civitci Civitci, 2015). During college, most students worry about
maintaining a social life while keeping grade point average up. Along with those
who graduate college, struggle to find stability. To get a better understanding about
the factors that contribute to success in graduates, and undergrads, a correlational
study is proposed to associate hardiness with GPA. Hardiness refers to the ability to
endure difficult conditions. It is known as a personality trait that restrains the
negative effects of stress on health. Research suggests that hardiness is a developed
factor in both working adults and college students (Maddi, Harvey, Khoshaba, Fazel,
Resurreccion, 2012). Hardiness originates from existential psychology. Research has
found that academic hardiness relates to SAT scores, academic performance, and
college enrollment. The ongoing pattern of research has supported hardiness as a
facilitator of performance in stressful situations. Hardiness helps one turn stressful
circumstances from chaotic disasters to blooming opportunities for growth (Maddi et
al., 2012). This study also, investigates the power of hardiness and its relationship to
performance. Several samples of undergraduates were

As Russia is a member of the big 5 the UN remains powerless to do anything about
the Russian occupation of Crimea as any proposed action is vetoed by the Russian
government. However when the UN has been able to get the big five to agree
upon action it has often seen many positive results such as the implementation of
no fly zones in Syria which went along way to helping overthrow the corrupt
Gaddafi regime. Another of the UN s main aims is to help people live better lives .
The UN has had a lot more success achieving this goal although it generally goes
unnoticed by the international community. One of the UN s greatest successes
was their eradication of polio in Africa. This went along way to bettering the
health and living conditions of many of the worlds poorest people. The UN has

such as to the victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters, to give them food

distribution policy for Gold Toe socks provided that the products would be distributed
through one leading department store (or department store chain) in each major city
of the United States. In exchange for the exclusive distribution arrangement, the
department store organization was expected to aggressively promote Gold Toe brand
socks. At the time of this case, Gold Toe socks were... Show more content on

Senior executives at Great American Knitting Mills were concerned that a change in
the company s Gold Toe distribution policy might affect adversely the company s
financial performance. Increased sales resulting from a revised distribution policy
might be accompanied by lower margins. Additionally, contemporary management
systems within the department store account organizations emphasized bottom line
results as opposed to customer service and product quality. As a consequence,
department store buyers tended to drop and add product lines in the hope of gaining
short term benefits. The relationships established by Great American Knitting Mills
with the company s department store accounts on the basis of the exclusive Gold Toe
distribution policy, however, provided Great American Knitting Mills to go over the
head of buyers who demanded more than Great American Knitting Mills was
prepared to give, and to effectively stifle any attempt to drop or change to any
significant extent the Gold Toe distribution and marketing arrangements with the
accounts. Great American Knitting Mills had introduced a second line of men s
socks under the Arrow brand to distribute through retail establishments that did not
carry the Gold Toe brand. The Arrow brand had not garners success similar to that of
the Gold Toe brand; however, common production of the
Proprietary Technologies Vs. Infrastructural Technology
Proprietary technologies vs. Infrastructural technology
Proprietary technologies can be owned, actively and effectively, at times by a single
company. For instance, a pharmaceutical holding a patent on a particular compound
that is the basis for a drug is an example of proprietary technologies. Infrastructural
technology on the other hand provides more value when shared rather than used by a
single organization. A company having all the rights to building railroads is an
example of Infrastructural technology. This company can operate efficiently, but the
effect to the economy is greater if the technology is shared and companies build
railroads that can connect more buyers and sellers. Holding proprietary technologies,

In fact, IT is nothing like transport or electricity, and according to Ben Bernanke, we
are in the early days of the IT revolution as computing speed and memory continue to
increase we ve only scratch the surface3.
Carr s reasons why IT is a Commodity
IT, according to Carr, has become affordable to all and therefore, it has been a
commodity. He further argues that the use commodities do not lead to a completive
advantage, and believes that IT has become commoditized for the following reasons:
IT is highly replicable
The arrival of the internet has accelerated the its commoditization
IT is subject to rapid price deflation
I agree with Carr s assessment on the commoditization of IT to some degree. For
instance, it makes no sense for an organization to spend money in customizing a
product when a similar product can be bought at a relatively good price.
Organizations no longer write their application, they simple buy one that is available
in the market (e,g. Microsoft Office).
I do not agree with Carr when he states that organizations such as IBM and
Microsoft recognize this trend and have position themselves as IT utilities companies
as more companies replace customized application with generic ones. That the
internet has increased the commoditization of IT by providing a perfect delivery
channel for generic applications and more and more organization will obtain their IT
requirement by purchasing fee based web services
Regulatory Agencies Vs Independent Agencies
For the first time in recent memory, the Senate Homeland Security and
Governmental Affairs Committee this fall approved several bipartisan regulatory
reform bills, setting the stage for serious consideration of reform in the New Year.
Two of the bills address a key gap in the federal regulatory process by encouraging
independent regulatory agencies that aren t part of the executive branch to conduct
more thorough economic analysis before issuing regulations. Numerous independent
agencies can impose restrictions on prices, entry into markets, disclosures or contract
terms. Yet agencies often conduct little or no economic analysis to identify the need
for, or effects of, restrictions before they re adopted. So agencies can impose massive
mandates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Values And Values Of Arts Education
Art is all around us. It is a large part of our everyday lives. It makes our lives
infinitely rich. It gives us a way to be creative and expressive. Upitis (2011, p. 2)
quotes Dewey as saying in 1906/1977 that to feel the meaning of what one is doing,
and to rejoice in that meaning: to unite in one concurrent fact the unfolding of the
inner life and the ordered development of material conditions that is art . Education in
the artsrefers to education in the disciplines of dance, music, dramaand visual arts.
Froebel (1826) believed that it was very important for young children to be
involved in art and to enjoy the art of others as it encouraged each child s full and
all sided development . However, this view was not shared by all. Swanwick (1988)
cites Herbert Spencer as putting forward the view in 1911 that the artswere only
meant for leisure and nothing else was achieved through them. Thus, in this paper, I
intend to explore the values and aims of arts education suitable for young children. I...

Taking the aims and values stated by UNESCO and the Convention on the Rights of
the Child as my foundation, for the purpose of this assignment, I will be relatingthe
aims and values of arts education highlighted by Swanwick (1988)to our scheme of
work.Swanwick has argued that the arts were not like dreaming but were more like
play. However, he has stressed that they were not blatantly just play which was liable
to vanish over time. According to him, activities in the arts were unique in such a
way that the three elements of play which weresignificant to learning mastery,
imitation and imagination could be intentionally continued and made better through
and beyond childhood. Just as the research and studies have shown, Swanwick also
agreed that the arts were essential for developing and sustaining the mind and that
they were also indispensable for language
Abortion Ethical Issue
Abortions have been an issue in this country for many years. Some people agree
That abortion should be illegal while others disagree and say that abortions should be
legal. The three branches of government have been called upon to address the issue.
There are many issues that pertain to abortion that must be resolved by the
legislative branch of the federal government. The members of Congress are
obligated to support the will of the people they represent and if those people are
supportive of the practice of abortion as an after the act form of birth control then so
will the members of Congress be. The greatest issue may be the relationship between
law and morality and science and politics. One politician stated campaigning for

Congress has made not a single law making abortion a legal practice in the country.
President Obama issues executive orders, that state that federal funds cannot be
used to supplement abortions or clinics that perform abortions. The President
nominates Supreme Court justices that rule on abortion cases and therefore the
President potentially has more power to influence abortion decisions. These
chosen justices sit on the nation s highest court and actually decide whether babies
will live or die. President Obama stated Those of us who support a woman s rights
to decide to have an abortion and make intimate decisions about sex, sexuality, and
reproduction must also think and act strategically . A pro life Congress can
propose all forms of bills to defend women and babies, but unless both the house
and senate have super pro life plurality (290 seats in the House; 67 in the Senate), a
pro abortion President can kill any legislation with his veto pen. In 2013, President
Barack Obama was the first sitting president to press the issue about abortion. Obama
stated planned parenthood is not going anywhere . President Obama talked about
Planned Parenthood to thousands of supporters.
In conclusion, we see that the discussion of abortion rights has been ongoing for
decades with the consensus of the three branches of government being that a woman
should have a right to choose whether to have a baby or not. Even though individual
states have passed legislation either for or against abortions, the final word has rested
with the judicial and executive branches. The Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade
that a woman should have the right to choose. The executive branch concurs with this
ruling as long as federal monies are not
Lower Class Reformers
The lower class audience consists of all age groups and genders. Most are
community college or university educated with either minimum wage pay or above
average, and either work full time, disability or part time employee. These
consumers usually reside in condos, apartments, or studios. The types of people
who like to experience, and tend to make a living of what is available in work and
struggle along the way, but treat themselves when necessary. The middle classare
usually positive people they have a work hard play hard attitude. If I were to label
these consumers would considered to be reformers. Reformers are independent but
spontaneous people. It s all about personal growth with them they value time and
are anti materialistic but intolerant to poor taste but favor natural simplicity. These
reformers also have prosperous lives and travel often for either business or pleasure.

Unreliable And Ignorance In Ivan Turgenev s Birjuk
Unreliable, ignorant and naive characters create a normative universe as it
establishes a overarching voice that reveals the story through each of their lenses.
From the start of the short story, Birjuk , by Ivan Turgenev, we are introduced to
our main character hunting in a racing droshky. The truth within this is that he has
no idea what he is doing. This makes the reader wonder whether he is a truthful and
trustworthy narrator telling the story. The reader must decide whether they can
trust his judgement or not. We are then shown that our narrator s judgement should
not be trusted because he cowers behind a bush as he is completely lost in a totally
foreign setting. The voice of the story continues to agree that our character is out
of place as his droshky jumped and bumped through all the tree roots and had even
the horses stumbling. But, our perspective on our narrator is changed when Biryuk
begins to refer to him as, sir , a higher power. We also see that he is of higher status
than Biryuk as he calls Biryuk s peasant hut unpleasant. Biryuk even acknowledges
this difference in wealth class as he knows that the narrator would not want any of his

though Biryuk s reputation is widely known he is still a mysterious person. He lives

Outsiders Dbq
Who are the Outsiders How does social division influence our lives? During the
1960s. In Tulsa, Oklahoma, two social groups experience trauma that shows that
there is more to a person than meets the eye. Who are the people set as outcasts by
society? The outsiders, who can be more than one group or person, are Ponyboy
and Cherry, the Socs, and the Greasers. Two individuals, Ponyboy and Cherry, had
seen beyond the divisions of society. It s not just money. Part of it is, but not all.
You Greasers have a different set of values. You re more emotional. We re
sophisticated, cool to the point of not feeling anything. Nothing is real with us.
Cherry had told this to Ponyboy in document C. Most people believed that money

The book does not claim any scientific, medical, ethical or religious view, advice or
recommendation. The book is for information only. Also, the information
presented here does not claim a textbook accuracy, rather a general guidance. The
book presents a good faith summary of a good life. Some facts may be inadequate,
inaccurate or outdated and therefore, any error, omission or exclusion, is on the
part of the author for which a plea is acknowledged in advance. Facts are nothing
but an interpretation of data. Fascinating facts reinforce the topic with research
results, discoveries, surveys and statistics. Today, there is so much of information,
so much of communication, and so much of evidence that, that one can no longer
plead ignorance; and, important as these facts are, a willful blindness is not a
good policy either. Facts explain and compare the life as is vs. life hereafter.
Sometimes, statistics can also be as confusing as they are enlightening. So, in order
to keep the motion of the topic alive, key data are skimmed and highlighted broadly
to the context and rounded up or down to make it casual, simple and generic, and
easy to remember. Typically, if any quantitative data are of any significant
importance, they are put in numeric format rather than alphabetic format. (Numeric

Finding Contentment in Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Essay
Finding Contentment in Mr. and Mrs. Elliot
Ernest Hemingway s Mr. and Mrs. Elliot ultimately leaves us with a paradox. From
its opening line, the story defines the marriage of Hubert and Cornelia as a
marriage of failure: failure to conceive a child, failure to communicate, failure to
have good sex. Indeed, the story s opening image seems the perfect metaphor for the
marriage as a whole: Mr. and Mrs. Elliot tried very hard to have a baby. They tried as
often as Mrs. Elliot could stand it (161). The Elliots marriage is one of unfulfilled
desires of trying as much as one can stand it , but never achieving success.
Nevertheless the story s final line asserts, they were all quite happy. How can we
reconcile the failures of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, while the story notes that Cornelia had taught him to call her Calutina
(162), the story itself never refers to her using that name. I think it s reasonable to
believe that while Hubert may call her Calutina to please her, he still thinks of her
as Cornelia. The sort of closeness that the use of a nickname implies does not really
exist between them; in his mind, she is always Cornelia. The girl friend, in contrast,
calls Cornelia Honey , not because she was taught to do so but simply because she
cares for her (163).
Hemingway also notes that the girls cry together , whereas Cornelia always cries
around Hubert but never with him. Indeed, often Cornelia is crying because of her
husband. Nowhere is this more evident that in Dijon, where Hemingway writes,
She cried a good deal and they tried several times to have a baby before they left
Dijon (163). Hubert s and Cornelia s expectations about marriage are entirely at
odds in this passage: Cornelia wants someone to cry with, whereas Hubert wants to
make a baby. Also, note the names used to refer to Mr. Elliot. Before the girl friend
arrives, he is always called Hubert, but afterwards, he is always referred to as Elliot.
The sole exception to this rule is the acknowledgment that his friends called him

  • 4. Bruce Rogers Research Paper I interviewed Dr. Bruce Rogers, a school psychologist about his experiences with children having childhood onset fluency disorder. I asked Dr. Rogers what the requirements are to work with children who have childhood onset fluency disorder. He said that he didn t know the exact requirements for the speech therapists who work with children with childhoodonset fluency disorder but he knew that they needed to have a minimum of a master s degree. After our interview, I researched the requirements for speech therapists in Georgia. According to the American Speech Language Hearing Association, speech language pathologists need to have completed their masters in an ASHA approved program. There are also continuing education requirements for speech... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rogers, I felt that my knowledge of stuttering and its impacts definitely expanded. It was both revealing and somewhat heartbreaking to know that although school psychologists don t work directly with kids who stutter, they can still notice the impact that it has on the child. Choosing childhood onset fluency disorder for this interview was mostly influenced by my own experience with someone who stuttered as an adult. The person who stuttered was my high school science teacher and I vividly remember the first time people heard him speak. Kids would secretly tease him or interrupt him when he was speaking to speed up how long he was taking to make a point. Although I know it probably affected him a lot more when he was younger than it did then, I was still sensitive to his communication difficulties. My high school teacher is who I would consider a stuttering success story because of his accomplishments. He was always known to be very intelligent, but also he was popular at his undergraduate institution. He was so popular that he had won homecoming king and was a member of one of the prestigious African American fraternities. I m sure that he experienced what a lot of people who stutter don t have the chance to experience. However, I am still forced to reflect on what his experiences as a young child must have been like in a rural town where most kids didn t have an issue with
  • 5. The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect by Michael Seadle In the article entitled The Copyright Distance Learning Disconnect, Seadle a copyright librarian at Michigan State University (Seadle, 2002, p. 2) examines several ways in which the current copyright laws are antiquated for the digital world of distance learning. Three disconnects that Seadle identifies are restrictions on instructor materials imposed by the current definition of Fair Use, student opinion that all information on the internet is free to be used without limitation and lastly, the difficulties faced by publishers in protecting copyrighted work. Many of the difficulties found in following as well as enforcing copyright laws, stem from the vastly different time it takes for changes to occur. The technology utilized in distance learning updates daily while copyright law is slow to update (Seadle, 2002). Copyright Basics and Education Exemptions Copyright is defined as the legal right to be the only one to reproduce, publish, and sell a book, musical recording, etc. (Copyright [Def.1], n.d). In the law, copyright protection insures that the authors are considered the owners of the work they create and they can therefor expect compensation if the work is used by anyone other than themselves. Copyright laws over the years have made great efforts to protect the creators and authors of constructed works; however, the ease by which materials can be obtained and distributed online has created
  • 6. Life Theory And Answers On Life s Theory Of Life CHAPTER 2 THEORY OF LIFE AFTER DEATH Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils and the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7. Life is where we found our purpose, fulfillment and satisfaction in life. Life is seen in different perspective because people experience it in different ways. Life is the reason why we are here on earth breathing and kicking. Life is where we find the meaning of our existence choosing to have relationship with God our Father. Life is where he challenge us to fulfill his earthly mission. According to all about world view, the guide to understand the deeper understanding of life is through Holy Bible. It clearly gives tangible examples and practical rules for living in accordance with God s plan for your life. If there is life, there is death. There is still end for everything No man ever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is the avoidance of death. God is all powerful, all knowing, all good, and present in everywhere. Then, why God did not allow us to be immortal? Why do we die? Why can t we just live forever? There are reasons why God did not allow us to be immortal. He did that for us to know that He is definitely above every little thing. We are made in His likeness, but we will never be like Him. Another thing is, He is perfect, and He could not make other things perfect, too. God, himself, is the only perfect for us to understand that He has more authority. He is always above us. He allowed mortality and death for us to learn that we could not live without Him. He also made us mortal so that we can be destroyed if we do not obey Him and His words. As stated in Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We will only have the ability to be immortal if we follow and love Him and our neighbors. It helps us follow a path and guidance to love and take care each
  • 7. Maximum Absorbance Of Fast Green And Chlorophyls The overall purpose of this experiment is to find the maximum absorbance of Fast Green and chlorophylls a and b. The concentration curve of Fast Green was used to determine the unknown concentration of unknown #17. Different techniques, graphical or experimental, were used in this experiment such as absorbance spectrum graphs and the use of blanks to recalibrate the spectrophotometer. Lightis a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that varies in wave from radio waves to gamma rays. The human eye can only detect the visible light portion of the spectrum; a range of wavelengths (nm) from 400 nm to 700 nm. Electromagnetic radiationcan be described as a stream of massless particles called photons that move in a wavelike motion at the speed of light. A spectrophotometer is an instrument used to measure the amount of amount of photons (absorbance of light) that passes through a sample solution over a given wavelength. It does this by using a white light source that travels through a prism, the prism separates the white light into narrow portions of the radiant energy. The... For this part the experiment, the objective is to achieve the concentration curve of five known concentrations to find the unknown concentration through Beer Lamberts Law. The concentration curve is also known as the calibration curve, both involve a graph with the concentration variables on the abscissae and the absorbance numbers on the ordinate. The absorbance spectrum of the Fast Green solution must be determined before obtaining the concentration curve. The maximum absorbance of the solution must be determined through the absorbance spectrum. The wavelength at the maximum absorbance was used to determine the absorbance for the diluted Fast Green
  • 8. Analysis Of Heather Havrilesky s No Sympathy For The Devil In the No Sympathy for the Devil Heather Havrilesky tells us how the appearance of the hero influences the attitude of the audience towards him. Havrilesky claims that: the likability of any given protagonist represents one of the most subjective assessments you can make about a TV show (465). I agree with his statement and my opinion can be explained with the help of the hero Damonfrom the TV show The Vampire Diaries. Damon is one of the most evil guys in the Vampire Diaries TV show, but sometimes he does good deeds. The main confirmation of my statement is two good Damon s action: he saves Caroline after a car accident and protects Elena from killing. The first way I will agree with Havrilesky is an example of how Damon saved Caroline after a car accident. Damon in the TV show The Vampire Diaries is shown by an evil handsome with an unpleasant temperament. In most cases, he does only bad things and takes care of himself, but sometimes he really surprises the audience by helping others and doing good deeds. One of the main examples of this behavior is when in the second season in the Brave New World series he saves Caroline after a car accident. Damon gives her his blood so that she will recover faster and feels better. Unfortunately, Caroline is killed and she becomes a vampire. After all the events, Caroline s mom finds out the truth, but even here Damon does not give in. He supports Caroline and tries to reconcile them with Mom. In the end, Caroline and Damon become friends. Thus, it becomes clear that even bad characters in a TV show can do good deeds. But in fact, if you think for a minute, each viewer is sick and sympathetic to Damon, despite all the bad things he does. Havrilesky says: For the past decade, TV has been awash with deeply flawed antiheroes: philandering ad men and pill popping nurses, meth cooking chemistry teachers and mob boss suburban dads. But when you launch a show that s centered on an unethical protagonist, how do you keep viewers engaged and invested in that character indefinitely or at least through six seasons? (465).The author says that a really negative hero forces viewers to follow him to the very end. Watching how his life develops. It s the bad characters that
  • 9. Differences Between Domesticated And Wild Animals There are notable differences between domesticated and wild animals. They are more obvious when compared between different breeds of the same species. For most domesticated species, the variations within an organism are usually descended from a single wild species. Variation arises from natural selection, and refers to variation both within and between species. Darwin did not believe that all domesticated species arises from a common wild ancestor, however, modern genetics disproves this. Research shows that all domesticated dogs arise from their wild ancestor, the wolves. Similar trends are found in other domesticated animals like cats, horses, cows, and birds. Specifically, I will be analyzing the trends in domestication of fowl and poultry. Fowl includes two orders of birds: landfowl (chicken, quail, pheasant) and waterfowl (duck, goose, swan). Fowl typically refers to wild birds. Poultry indicates birds that are domesticated and raised for meat or eggs. By analyzing the behavior, evolution species variation, and domestication of birds, we can determine the traits selected for different species. Through domestication, many breeds of birds have evolved with alterations that could be seen as adaptations to the environment. Behavior of Wild Fowl It is widely known that the domestication of an organism involves numerous changes: genetically, physically, socially, mentally. An interesting occurrence to note is reduction in brain size from wild to domestic animals. As

  • 11. Those Who By Insight Know What Love Is Essay As any romantic will assert, love is by far the most powerful force known to human hearts and minds. This sentiment is espoused throughout history, almost to the point of clichГ©. Everyone has heard the optimistic statement, love conquers all, and The Beatles are certain, however idyllic it may be, that all you need is love. Humanity is convinced that love is unique within human emotion, unequalled in its power to both lift the spirit up in throws of ecstasy, and cast it down in utter despair. Loves power has suggested to many that it serves as a link to the divine, and that the feeling instilled in man by love comes from the supernatural, be it God or otherwise. In La Vita NuovaDante Alighierimakes it clear that he believes in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The physical effect that love has on Dante is apparent whenever he is in its presence, that is, through a vision of Love himself or through being close to Beatrice. In their second encounter, nine years later, Beatrice is walking down the street where Dante is standing in fear and trembling. As she passes him, she greets him, of which he says, Such was the virtue of her greeting that I seemed to experience the height of bliss [...] I was filled with such joy that, my senses reeling, I had to withdraw from the sight of others. (5) It is after this encounter that Dante has his first vision of Love manifested, in which love says to him, Ego dominus tuus, or I am your master. Love is holding Beatrice in his arms, and in one hand, Dante s heart. Love bids Beatrice to eat the heart and then, weeping, the two ascend into heaven. It is clear that Dante is consumed, body and mind, by Love, and sees him as a divine force to which he must submit his will. Just as devout men who feel the influence and power of God within them give up their will and lives to the service of their Lord, so Dante gives himself to Love. So strong is his devotion that his thoughts are entirely consumed by Beatrice. The strain of such a state weighs heavily on Dante, such that his appearance reflects his turmoil and causes his friends to grow concerned. About inquiries into the cause of his pain, Dante says, in obedience to Love s will, [...] I replied that it was Love who had

The process of smelting sulphide ores produces sulphur dioxide gas; this chemical reacts in the atmosphere to form a mist, which then falls to earth as acid rain. To reduce this effect, new technology has been created and plays an important role in reducing smelting related pollution. During both the Colonial Era and the Age of Imperialism, European nations acted on imperialist policies and established colonies. The motives that shaped European colonization in the two periods were economically and politically similar, however the 19th century motives for imperialismput more of an emphasis on religion and ethnocentrisms while Colonial Era imperialism was more affected by exploratory motives. The political and economic motivations for colonization and imperialism during the two eras were in nature. European countries were motivated by economic interests to expand. The economic reasons for expansion during the Age of Imperialism were similar to those during the Colonial Era. During both periods, European nations experienced economic expansion. • 40. How I Build A Personal Computer How to Build a Personal Computer Building your own PC (personal computer) is a both informative and cost effective method when you are in need of a computer. The process of selecting compatible parts is the most difficult part of building your own computer, but luckily assembling everything is a very easy process that will be outlined in the following pages. Step 1: Preparing your workspace The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best workplace available to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest worry to have while constructing a brand new computer and there are precautions to take whether you are on a solid smooth surface, or more importantly, on carpet. First and foremost, the most important item to have on hand is an anti static wrist strap. The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD (electrostatic discharge) that could possibly damage the components during assembly. Another important aspect is to keep the area free of clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for easy movement around the computer case. Take care when moving and unwrapping the parts to avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the fragile edges of things such as the motherboard, memory, and video card. Once everything has been removed from its protective wrapping, you can begin piecing everything together. Step 2: Installing the motherboard The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with

You have the right to decide whether or not family members are privy to your medical information. If you are changing jobs, why worry about health insurance coverage. Picture this. A woman called a local hospital and inquired about the condition of a patient. She was informed by the nurse that the patient was on a ventilator and could not talk. Even though interaction seems perfectly harmless, it was actually a clear violation of the privacy of the patient. A prescription for a local analgesic was presented to the pharmacist for a patient with a name similar to a patient already on file. The prescription was filled for the current patient who was actually the father, and not the patient. The pharmacist assumed that the patient was the father and shared with the patient that there was another medication that he had filled for you and asked, Would you also like to pick up that medication also ? The father was not present and therefore could not object to the sharing of this information with the son. In the past, if you had a preexisting disease such as chronic fatigue or pregnancy, you could be denied health care coverage. Because Congress stepped in to assist and fix the healthcare system, denial of insurance because of a preexisting disease is not accepted. In view of this significant law, this paper will

Privacy and technology go hand in hand with today s society being so dependent on electronic devices. The new movement towards law enforcement wearing body cameras has raised a few concerns over the protection of privacy. For as long as the U.S. has been established there have been laws and regulations set in place regarding privacy; the right to be let alone. Confidentiality laws give citizens the ability to bring a lawsuit against anyone who invades his or her privacy. For this same amount of time there have been laws set in place, law enforcement officers have been accused of unjust and offensive actions regarding ones secrecy. In the late 1970 s due to the numbers of complaints growing the policedepartment made a step towards solving this issue and they implemented the first dashcam in the patrol cars. When this device was brought to the police force it provided clear evidence to be used in the court rooms. Teenagers are emerging into young adults while college graduates are preparing for the real world. These young grown ups are now responsible of their own health, school life, and financial condition (Civitci Civitci, 2015). During college, most students worry about maintaining a social life while keeping grade point average up. Along with those who graduate college, struggle to find stability. To get a better understanding about the factors that contribute to success in graduates, and undergrads, a correlational study is proposed to associate hardiness with GPA. Hardiness refers to the ability to endure difficult conditions. It is known as a personality trait that restrains the negative effects of stress on health. Research suggests that hardiness is a developed factor in both working adults and college students (Maddi, Harvey, Khoshaba, Fazel, Resurreccion, 2012). Hardiness originates from existential psychology. Research has found that academic hardiness relates to SAT scores, academic performance, and college enrollment. The ongoing pattern of research has supported hardiness as a facilitator of performance in stressful situations. Hardiness helps one turn stressful circumstances from chaotic disasters to blooming opportunities for growth (Maddi et al., 2012). Education in the artsrefers to education in the disciplines of dance, music, dramaand visual arts. Froebel (1826) believed that it was very important for young children to be involved in art and to enjoy the art of others as it encouraged each child s full and all sided development . However, this view was not shared by all. From its opening line, the story defines the marriage of Hubert and Cornelia as a marriage of failure: failure to conceive a child, failure to communicate, failure to have good sex. Indeed, the story s opening image seems the perfect metaphor for the marriage as a whole: Mr. and Mrs. Elliot tried very hard to have a baby. They tried as often as Mrs. Elliot could stand it (161). Similarly, while the story notes that Cornelia had taught him to call her Calutina (162), the story itself never refers to her using that name. I think it s reasonable to believe that while Hubert may call her Calutina to please her, he still thinks of her as Cornelia. The sort of closeness that the use of a nickname implies does not really exist between them; in his mind, she is always Cornelia. The girl friend, in contrast, calls Cornelia Honey , not because she was taught to do so but simply because she cares for her (163). Hemingway also notes that the girls cry together , whereas Cornelia always cries around Hubert but never with him. Indeed, often Cornelia is crying because of her husband. Nowhere is this more evident that in Dijon, where Hemingway writes, She cried a good deal and they tried several times to have a baby before they left Dijon (163). Hubert s and Cornelia s expectations about marriage are entirely at odds in this passage: Cornelia wants someone to cry with, whereas Hubert wants to make a baby. Also, note the names used to refer to Mr. Elliot. Before the girl friend arrives, he is always called Hubert, but afterwards, he is always referred to as Elliot. The sole exception to this rule is the acknowledgment that his friends called him
