Smart Exchange in
Classrooms

How can it be useful?
 Allows students with an interactive way to learn new
concepts
 Helps keep students engaged in class
 Allows teachers flexibility in teaching methods
 Helps integrate technology with learning
My experience with Smart Exchange
 The first time I used a Smart Board was in the 4th grade. I specifically
remember thinking that it was the coolest thing in the world and was
intrigued whenever my teacher used it. One thing that I found was very
useful was when we used it in Math class to conduct classroom examples.
My teacher would allow students to go up to the board in order to work
out homework problems. If the student made any errors, the Smart Board
allowed easy access for the teacher to help correct the mistake. One of my
favorite memories with Smart Boards was whenever we got to play
Jeopardy as a class. It allowed for students to compete with one another in
a friendly manner that also helped students learn.
How I would incorporate Smart
Exchange
 Jeopardy (
 Great way for students to review
before test/exam
 Fun way to help keep students
actively engaged
 Helps students figure out material
that they have sufficiently studied
for, as well as material they need
help with.
 Promotes Friendly competition

Jeopardy Example
 Break classroom into 4 teams
 Provide typical Jeopardy board with designated point values
 Take turns asking each team a question
 If the team gets the correct answer they win the points, if not they lose the
points
 Make sure that every student gets a chance to answer a question
 Team with the most points at the end of the game will win
Universal Design and Smart Exchange
 Has specific learning templates that help all students learn
 Provides an interactive way for people with mental disabilities to learn
 Very hands on learning
 Helps visual learners

One thing that I found was very useful was when we used it in Math class to conduct classroom examples. My teacher would allow students to go up to the board in order to work out homework problems. If the student made any errors, the Smart Board allowed easy access for the teacher to help correct the mistake. One of my favorite memories with Smart Boards was whenever we got to play Jeopardy as a class. It allowed for students to compete with one another in a friendly manner that also helped students learn.

Jeopardy Example  Break classroom into 4 teams  Provide typical Jeopardy board with designated point values  Take turns asking each team a question  If the team gets the correct answer they win the points, if not they lose the points  Make sure that every student gets a chance to answer a question  Team with the most points at the end of the game will win
