The document discusses questions about how places that move large numbers of people, like airports or train stations, are physically organized and whether they effectively facilitate the flow of people. It also asks how navigational information is communicated to individuals and groups, and if there are common logistics or characteristics of a culture that contributes to successful travel within these spaces. The document suggests discussing these questions by writing down ideas and sharing them in pairs and groups.

Teaching is a very important job and once you get your classroom management skills in order you will be enjoying teaching more and will have a more productive teaching career.
The most important element of classroom management is allowing your students an opportunity to understand that your rules are a part of giving them the best education possible.

Understanding learner diversity for calicut 24 5-2018andrewkannittayil

This presentation elaborates the importance of Understanding the Learner Diversity which is a
slight adaptation of John Hattie's Visible Learning. The presentation not only gives an idea about
learner diversity but also explains about Precision Teaching Probes etc.
For the past few years, reading has taken center stage in PDāspecifically because this is an area that has been deemed as being one that most of our students struggle with as evidenced by ISAT performance. For the past couple of years, teachers have been exposed to the concept of Reading Across the Curriculum. At first, Haugan received PD from an outside consultant and then last year, most of our PD was delivered on-site by our Master Teachers. This year, we are going full force with Reading Across the Curriculum and marrying it to the Differentiation conceptāHaugan personnel will be the driving force behind the initiative; in terms of providing all PD ourselves. So far, we have delivered 4 PowerPoint presentations that have some type of literacy/differentiation element embedded into it: Ex: 1. Formative Assessment; 2. Word Maps to Build Comprehension; 3. Summarizing; and 4. Differentiation.
Differentiation ppt: We opened the year with a PD session on differentiation. Although many of our Haugan teachers have been to conferences/workshops that delve deeply into this concept, we felt that we needed to present teachers with practical techniques that they could immediately put into practice the first week of schoolātechniques that would help them get to know their studentsā interests and learning styles. In having an idea of studentsā interests and learning styles, teachers are better able to engage students.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation āBlue Starā is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
Ā
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasnāt one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

14. Discuss the following questions, writing down your ideas.
1.How are such places physically organized? In your experience,
are they effective at moving large numbers of people quickly? Do
they encourage people to communicate with each other?
2. How is information about navigating through these places
communicated, both at the group and at the individual level?
3. Is there a set of logistics that are common to such situations? If
so, list some. If not, list some that you think might be useful.
4. Is there an airport or railway station or market place culture? If
so, what are some characteristics of it that contribute to successful
travel? If not, is there away such a thing could be established to
facilitate travel ?

In a classroom, this can be a

hold a negative view of
teaching English in large
classes.
Often can we hear them say such
words as :
It's difficult to keep good
discipline going in a large class.
45. How can you develop a good
discipline in a large class ?
46. 1. A good lesson
preparation helps you to
dominate the class.
47. 2. Setting up different
teaching objectives or
assigning different
homework for different
level of students.
48. 3. Providing more chances
for students to participate
through individual work ā
pair work ā group work
and whole class work.
52. 7. Establish a code of behaviour
that is created by teachers and
learners together.They should
state clear basic rules of conduct
that learners understand, such
as :
. They have to work quietly.
. They may talk but not loudly
. Children who have finished the
lesson task can read a book to keep
them busy.
53. 8. Appoint responsible
group leaders who can
help maintain discipline.
They can give out and take
in work for the groups and
explain what the groups
must do.
54. 9. Plan the group work
using the seating plan
(regular groups)
55. 10. Organizing cooperative
learning activities such as
think-pair ā share, Three

to develop studentsā
comprehensive language
competence and
cooperative skills.
56. 11. Making use of modern
teaching means e.g using
multimedia instructions,
using internet techniques
59. * To keep good discipline of the class.
* Lack of individual intention
* Hard to organize class activity
* Lack of time and space.
* Difficult to provide equal chances
for the students to participate and
practise.
* Difficult to evaluate.
* Difficult to teach students with
mixed abilities.
* You may not have enough teaching
and learning aids.
62. More students mean more
ideas and therefore
provide more opinions and
possibilities
63. Provide more opportunities
for co-studentsā interaction.
Foster an atmosphere of
cooperation and encourage
creativity and innovation.
64. Bring not only challenges
but also opportunities for
teachers.
65. During project work, children
can learn to share
responsability and help each
other. This also brings variety
and speeds up the work.

Classroom Management.
Are women better at cooking than men ? Are women
more skillful at housekeeping than their rivals ? Are
women more intelligent than men ? Can women
teachers master their pupils and classes better than
