Simple Sentence
     simple sentence  independent clause (a subject + a verb)
                      expresses a complete thought.



1. The car stopped.
2. Mark and Jeff were tired.
3. The train was late.
4.  I looked for Mary and Samantha
  at the bus station.
5. Joe waited for the train.
Compound Sentence
compound sentence  (independent clause + coordinator + independent
clause)
coordinators : for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so (FANBOYS)

1. You must pay your debt or you can have dinner at the
   hospital tonight.
2. James ran fast enough yet Zoey won the race.
3. I want to be good at football so I practice my skills
   everyday.
4. It was sunny so I put on my cap.
5. My elder sister went to town and had a reunion with her
   schoolmate friends.
Complex Sentence
complex sentence  (1 independent clause + 1/2 dependent clauses).
                 always has a subordinator (because, since, after,
                  although, or when) or a relative pronoun (such
                  as that, who, or which).


1. Although I was scared, I carefully crossed the
bridge.
2. When the bell rang, the children quickly lined
up.
3. After the wind stopped, snow started to fall.
4. Because it was raining, Lee put his hood up.
5. Though he was tired, the runner sprinted over
the line.
