 Explore silence because self-reflection is important
for learning and development.

education reformer – explained about the meaning
of experience through self reflection.
 Function of self-reflection : to make meaning at the
heart of what it means to be human.
 It helps us to develop the ability to reflect and grow.
It can lean to the purification of inner thoughts.
Strength and wisdom comes through the vow of
silence.
 For Mahatma Gandhi silence was both a physical
and a spiritual necessity.

 Silent behaviour of employees is very important for the
managers for successful interaction
 Albert Hirschman (1970), considers that silence can be a
response to employees job dissatisfaction when the
employees are loyal to company.
 If employees will remain silent then business progress will
slow down ,lack cohesion in working, business will not
succeed long.
 If a manager fails to pay attention to employees silence he
will miss a vital part of message.
 Sometimes silence signals disagreement, frustration, anger
or fear of speaking.
 It is also important to recognize that the decision to remain silent can
be an intelligent, strategic choice, that may be the "best" decision
available under certain circumstances.
 It can be an effective tool in communication when people can't use
words in order to express their ideas and feelings.
 The way of showing respect and modesty to the top management.
 It is wise to remain silent at discussions when you know nothing or
know very little than to get involved in baseless discussions.
 "Silence can facilitate problem-solving and learning", (Robert J.
Bies, 2000).
 Silence can never be a solution to a problem but is an indirect refusal
to solve the problem rather it creates unavoidable additional issues.
 A good listener - it is good if one is silent so that the speaker can
communicate effectively.
 Small pauses in speech are other forms of silence.
 The organ of speech is a very great distractor of mind. Talkative
people cannot enjoy the peace of mind.
 Talking makes the mind outgoing. Silence is the practical death for
a worldly person.
 Energy is wasted in idle talking and gossiping. This energy must be
conserved by silence and utilize for the purposes of divine
contemplation.
 Observe silence for one or two months then you will realize its
advantages. Then you yourself will not leave the practice.
 Silence develops will power, checks the impulse of speech. It is a
great help for the observance of truth and control of anger.
 Emotions are controlled and irritability vanishes. A silence
practitioner will use measured words and his/her speech is very
impressive.
 A silence practitioner first thinks whether his/her speech will wound
the feelings of others, what sort of impression it will produce on the
minds of others and so on.
 He / She weighs every word before it comes out of his/her mouth.
 A silence Practitioner can stay for a long time in seclusion.
 The advantages of silence are simply indescribable.
 Practice, feel the peace and enjoy the silence yourself.
 During the practice of silence you should not show gestures.
 You can do any work with silence mood.
 Silence will give more strength to your body and mind. Ur
concentration power will increase along with will power.
 Fasting also an important virtue in our life. It purifies the mind,
destroys a great multitude of sins.
 You will have very good meditation during fasting, as the mind is
calm.
 Avoid excessive fasting. It will produce weakness.
 Research has found that Silence……
Silence relieves stress and tension.
Silence replenishes our mental resources.
In silence, we can tap into the brain’s default mode network.
Getting quiet can regenerate brain cells.
 Silence will teach us the
Satisfaction,
Truth,
Appreciation,
Attention,
Thoughts,
Nature,
Space,
