Presentation Prepared by Abhilash Alphonso Patience

“ A man who is master of patience is the master of everything else” -> Lord Halfin.
“ Patience is waiting. not passively waiting. that is laziness”. “But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience.” What is Patience?
Sitting back & waiting, without experiencing anxiety, tension or frustration. Displaying tolerance, compassion towards immature people Hanging on relation when trouble arises. Being Calm and considerate as you handle the growth in your committed relationship.
Negative consequence of being impatient Risk of being upset at yourself slow pace. Easily losing control on the slow paced people. Worrying about how slow things are going. Sacrificing relationship for your personal desire. Ignoring all the positive gains. Neglecting the blessings of our life.
How we feel when we are impatient Irritated. Ignored. Anxious Tensed Nervous Burned Out Frustrated. Forgotten. Misdirected. Misunderstood. Over stressed. Over-responsible.
Beliefs of people who lack patience I should be able to do this faster and better than what I am They should understand me. Why can’t they change quicker than what they are. If I change & grow, you should be equally change and grow.
I could never accomplish my goal of growth and change, so there is no use in even getting started. I am trying to change, but you keep on falling back into your old habits, that must mean you aren’t trying as hard as I am.
What new behavioral {traits} are needed for developing patience in your life. How can we increase our level of patience. Lets see…..
Develop a consistent philosophy of life. Take life one day at a time. Consider each day as a gift of life. Through this mindset we can get one step closer to our goal of growth and change.
2. Reframe your perspective Do not dwell on your past mistake and failings. Do not worry about what you will become or how you will act in the future. Begin to live each new day, as a fresh day
3. Break larger goals. Break larger goals down into components that are small term goals and objectives. Smaller goals can be more realistically and attainable in the near future.
4. Systematic in planning Be systematic in planning your path of recovery and growth. This will lead you to be more effective in your relationships.
5. Accept, Understand & Forgive Accept, understand and forgive yourself for being imperfect and weak. You need to become your own best friend and cheerleader. Love yourself…….as you love others.
6. Confront your fears Confront your fear about attaining your goal. Remember, the world was not created in a day. Beautiful works of art and literary masterpieces were not created in a day. A lifetime is not lived in a day.
7. Wake up to the realities of life Everyone with whom you come in contact is busy working thru their own struggle, weakness, setbacks etc. There is no one exempted from this journey. It takes a life time to compete this journey.
8. Modify your spiritual perspective Modify yourself to include your God as a guide on this journey. Be ready and willing face challenges as you strive for personal growth. Story
Hope this smallest effort from my side will help you to develop patience, which will bring tremendous changes in your life. Thank you
