What is LAN?
• A local area network (LAN) consists of a
series of computers linked together to form a
network in a circumscribed location. The
computers in a LAN connect to each other via
TCP/IP Ethernet or Wi-Fi. A LAN is normally
exclusive to an organization, such as a
school, office, association.
What is Ethernet?
• Ethernet cables are used to connect your homes or businesses
networking hardware. Cables such as Cat5 can be used to power
your computer, modem, routers, gaming system, printers, faxes
and just about anything with an Ethernet port.
• RJ45 connectors are often used for Ethernet networking.
Network in Computer
• A network consists of two or more computers that are
linked in order to share resources (such as printers
and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic
communications.
• The computers on a network may be linked through
cables, telephone lines, radio waves, satellites, or
infrared light beams. ... Local Area Network (LAN)

What is IP?
• IP address stands for internet protocol address; it is an
identifying number that is associated with a specific
computer or computer network. When connected to
the internet, the IP address allows the computers to send
and receive information.
• IP Address Consist of 32-bits, separated by a dot. The
Maximum value of a 32-bit number is 2^32 or
4,294,967,296. So the maximum number of IPv4 address,
which is called its address space, is about 4.3 billion.
• For example: 192.168.1.1
Default Gateway?
• The Default Gateway is a point from our data traffic is
going out/in.
• A default gateway is an IP address that is specified in a
device to enable it to communicate with other devices
that are not in the same network. Normally it is an
address of the router interface that is connected to a
network. The default gateway is always same as the IP
address, the last byte or number is changed.
