 A network defined as ‘an interconnected collection of autonomous
computers’.
o AUTONOMOUS: in this context no computer on a network can start, stop or
control another.
o INTERCONNECTED : Two or more computers are interconnected if they can
exchange information.
 A network may be composed of any combination of LANs, or WANs.
