So how do Badges and
Experience fit in with
all this?
• Each Team Member has a unique
“gamer” profile tied to their ID.
• Team Members can earn experience
for all game activities, as well as
other learning activities.
• xAPI statements communicate
activities to the LRS/GMS.
• Badges can be earned in individual
games as well as in the LXP for
completing tasks.
• Badges in the LXP can turn into
experience points in the GMS.
So how do we fit all of
this together?
• The ISM’s are 20 tenets that guide
the culture of our FOC.
• Learning the ISM’s are a large part of
our onboarding process.
• Every new Team Member attends one
of 3-4 yearly ISM’s Days.
• The ISM Arcade is a mobile app
containing 20 different mini games
based on the tenets.
• Built in .
• Published on and .
• Rolling out in September 2018.
• Team Members
attend ISM’s Day
orientation.
• Upon completion
of assignments,
scores and
completion data
are sent to LRS.
• Completing games
in the ISM Arcade
sends data back to
LRS.
• TM profiles are
created in LXP, and
LMS activities are
assigned.
• TM’s visit LXP to
get their assigned
courses.
• LMS triggers next
assignment, which
sends TM’s to
Gamecenter (GMS)
guides them to
download ISM
Arcade app.
• Experience points
are earned in the
Gamecenter,
leveling up the TM.
• Completion badges
are tracked,
reported, and
rewarded.
• Performance visibility available to
leaders via LRS/LXP dashboards.
• In-game leaderboards promote
organic competition and completion.
• Rewards are virtual and actual.
• ISM Arcade T-shirt.
• In-GMS Calling Card

  • 4. • 2011 – Started as a mortgage banker. • 2012 – Moved into Training. • 2013 – Started the Serious Games team with three interns and an idea. • 2014 – Transitioned to working on Serious Games full time; moved the team to IT.
  • 6. • 18,500+ Team Members in 3 main sites (Detroit, Cleveland, Scottsdale.) • Our team supports ALL training technology initiatives for the FOC. • 11 Full Time Team Members; 6 Dedicated solely to Game Development.

  • 10. LMS LRS LXP GMS Learning Management System Learning Record Store Learning Experience Platform Gamification Management System
  • 12. So how do Badges and Experience fit in with all this?
  • 13. • Each Team Member has a unique “gamer” profile tied to their ID. • Team Members can earn experience for all game activities, as well as other learning activities. • xAPI statements communicate activities to the LRS/GMS.
  • 14. • Badges can be earned in individual games as well as in the LXP for completing tasks. • Badges in the LXP can turn into experience points in the GMS.
  • 15. So how do we fit all of this together?

  • 17. • The ISM’s are 20 tenets that guide the culture of our FOC. • Learning the ISM’s are a large part of our onboarding process. • Every new Team Member attends one of 3-4 yearly ISM’s Days.
  • 18. • The ISM Arcade is a mobile app containing 20 different mini games based on the tenets. • Built in . • Published on and . • Rolling out in September 2018.
  • 19. • Team Members attend ISM’s Day orientation. • Upon completion of assignments, scores and completion data are sent to LRS. • Completing games in the ISM Arcade sends data back to LRS. • TM profiles are created in LXP, and LMS activities are assigned. • TM’s visit LXP to get their assigned courses. • LMS triggers next assignment, which sends TM’s to Gamecenter (GMS) guides them to download ISM Arcade app. • Experience points are earned in the Gamecenter, leveling up the TM. • Completion badges are tracked, reported, and rewarded.
  • 20. • Performance visibility available to leaders via LRS/LXP dashboards. • In-game leaderboards promote organic competition and completion. • Rewards are virtual and actual. • ISM Arcade T-shirt. • In-GMS Calling Card
