1. Final Edit Music Video
All in all my final edit went really well. The film crew and I managed to turn it around even with the
problems and consequences. I managed to finish all my editing and film all of the missing shots that
we were missing. I’ve managed to do all the re-scaling, the edit of the lighting and the contrast of
the video. In terms with the new filmed volunteers we had the original song playing in the
background so their lips will be more in sync with the actual song.
Even though the main problem we had with the project is that we couldn’t find volunteers willing
enough to help us we still managed to find people who are actually enthusiastic in staring in our
video and this really helped us because we had a very strict deadline date. It went so well that we
actually had spare time for our self after the video was completed.
In terms of the verses we found it easier if we filmed the whole thing at Olivia’s house. Olivia’s uncle
kindly volunteered to star in our video, the whole verses shooting went really well we managed to
film everything that we needed to film. The only problem we had during this is that we couldn’t
decide on what narrative story we should we go for when filming the verses. We didn’t know
whether to film it indoors or outdoors.
We didn’t know how to shoot the story and we also didn’t know how we were going to perform
them. The actors that performed in the verses were Chloe, Olivia and Olivia’s uncle. As for me, I
filmed the whole verse area. We had lots of ideas of telling the story but the one that we went for as
a group is using Olivia’s Uncle to be the gardener that they will ‘fall in love’ with. We went for this
idea because it was the clearest and most effective. Also it was the easiest to film. We didn’t want to
really make it complicated so we chose just to make it simple.
The other problem that we had in terms of filming is working the camera. At some shots we had to
shoot them again because the lighting wasn’t correct, the contrast of the camera was to bright and
sometimes it was really dark and out of focus. It took us time to figure out the setting of the camera.
Filming outdoor was the most difficult because the brightness of the camera increases when filming
outdoor. So we were always re-adjusting the settings so it was perfect to film. The other problem
that we had in terms of filming is the focus of the camera. Again, filming outdoor meant we always
had to re-adjust the settings and this really frustrated me because it took some time doing so. With
all the problems that we were facing we managed to film everything. At some points of the chorus
the brightness was a bit too bright but it never really affects the whole video.
The thing that made our video really look professional and eye catching is the program Adobe
Premier Pro. We gathered all of our footage and transferred it to this program. This program is
excellent in terms of editing all of your video footage. It is easy to use once you learn the basics and
some of the effects that you can use on this program really make it look professional. At first the film
crew and I struggled to use the program but with time we eventually managed to use it really well
with a lot of confidence.
Overall the film crew and I are very proud of what we have accomplished as a group. With this being
my first time producing a video this project has really helped me and prepared for more future
projects like this.
