What went well in pre- production
During pre-production I made sure our group had well divided workloads, playing on
each group members skills and due to this we were able to swiftly finish and move on to
the other tasks and start the production right on the start deadline. In addition to this our
group worked quite well with one another though we did have a few disagreements, we
were able to work them out and get back on task on time. When one group member was
having difficulty completing a task another member would be assigned to help them out
and we all proof checked one another’s work before posting it on the blogs. All of our
work was up to standards and this facilitated the production and post production. I was
the director for the pre-production and I think I did a relatively good job keeping the
group in order.
Improvements in pre-production
I feel that in pre-production I should have worked in closer tandem with the group
because this could have helped the rest of the group to work faster and finish the work
ahead of time I think I was one of the people that caused the group to delay. I plan to
keep up with the group and improve on this so in the next task we do I am working with
my group opposed to against them. Next time I’ll be careful to keep up and ask for help
if I’m struggling with anything at all so that we can all move on in unison just as fast and
in turn get on with the rest of the work earlier. I feel that I was at my best when I directed
in pre-production however this was quite the task for me since I had never been in such
a position before I had difficulties and the disagreements were something I’d never dealt
with before but It was overall an enjoyable experience though in production I gave the
position to Alistair as he understood it better than me.
What went well in production
In the production I made sure to use my experience with face paint to age the
protagonist so she fit the part of the older women due to my experience in horror and
other forms of face paint I was capable of finding a site which taught me the basic steps
to ageing someone through face paint. I was able to film a scene and set up the
equipment for a shot to be taken appropriately. We also had to decorate and changed
the settings to fit in with the images and setting we were trying to give off. We had a new
leader that co-ordinated the group better and this helped us work at a faster pace
allowing us to complete filming efficiently.

Improvements in production
In a shot or two we should have zoomed in correctly on certain parts we did edit this
during editing to make up for the mistakes though this also lowered the image quality in
the shots but we think it made up for the lack of zooms though our video looked
unprofessional because of these few mistakes made the music video look off but we
fixed it and it looks natural. The zooms were meant to add more shot types to the video
but it messed with the image quality. I think we should have re-shot these scenes but we
had no time for it and instead worked with what we had.
What went well in the post production
We edited the music video well and with the deadline closing in we all worked to make
sure we were ready for it as we worked on improving the music video everyone in the
group had the chance to edit the work and this helped us gain experience we worked on
other tasks while one person in the group edited e.g. minutes meetings and production
schedule. We helped each other learn to edit and due to this we all know how to work
with the editing software we all got equal chances to edit the work.
Improvements in post-production
Editing the music video took longer than it should have as we were still unfamiliar with
the software and how to use it this held us back a bit while we edited and in turn we
happened to delay the editing process a bit. Errors made while filming were also only
noticeable when it was too late and this seriously hurt our video as it made it look
unprofessional. I think we should have learnt to use the system first before diving in and
learning along the way as this cut down on the editing time and dragged it out for too
long.
