1. Self assessment media studies
Pre production:
WWW: One of the things that went well in the music video for the Pre production was that
me and my group had many ideas for the music video. We also worked well as a group and
a cast, however we have prepared and I made sure that the script was right, and we had to
make sure that everything written should be on the music video, so, I filled the call sheet,
location release from, budget template, risk assessment, and the notice of filming, so
everything was ready and good to go, however back then we had 4 members in our groups,
so we divided the work between us so we were doing quite well on the timing. Me and my
group were confident throughout the planning and we was ticking off all the tasks in the
panning bit.
EBI: If I knew that a member was going to leave we would have planned for it but it went all
wrong, however we did not expect it so then it took us a while to get used to it and we had to
make new plans for the music video, It would have been better if I planned the script
because my group and I wrote the wrong script because we chose the wrong music and it
did not suit our genre. We used Drake for our first choice because we thought he was really
good, however we couldn’t chose him because as it had inappropriate as we are in school.
Furthermore it would have been better if we planned what we was going to do throughout
the filming process.
Production
WWW: Throughout the filming we had a lot of fun and it was really funny to watch the
bloopers that we have recorded, however when we went to the forest to record our first
flashback it was quite dark and the forest was dark so where were quiet scared and
watching us getting paranoid in the forest was fun to, the first day of recording was really
long and took us about 4 hours to record 20% of the music video, second day of filming we
went and recorded the same thing to make multiple of the same copies so we have more
option to include into the music video. However I have learnt many camera skills, I have
learnt to work with my teammates and in group, I have learnt to be a competitive with other
groups. We went to three different locations to film and there was no problem or issues
recording the footage. It took us a while to film the whole video as some of us were busy at
certain days but we have finally managed filming
the music video.

2. EBI: We had a lot of problems on planning for the filming and planning for the days we were
going to meet up to finish our project. However had some arguing problems too so the
project really slowed down, we couldn't finish the project on time so this might affect our
grades towards to the music video, we started editing quiet late as well but the music video
wasn’t finished at the time, so we edited and filmed at the same time, this was luck of
balance in timing. Every other group finished on time and we were the only group still filming
and editing, we needed some help from the teacher because at one time we wanted to give
up and just fail the project. However another member from another group had to help us film
one of the scenes as all of our members needed to be on it so we needed help. So to be
honest i think we obtained quite a lot of help from teachers and members from other groups
in order t finish everything in time, but unfortunately we couldn't so we missed the deadline
so this will affect our grade.
Post production
WWW: When we knew what we were doing everything started flowing smoothly, we got
enough help from our teacher to make a start, we made a start then our member groups and
I got a little bit more comfortable as everything it's connecting to the dots.
Units 1,16,29 has been a great experience for me to learn the skills that we have to know for
our horror trailer. However looking back to what we all have done towards this music video i
I see effort, good times, enjoyment, arguments, up and downs, but after all i see friendship
and collaboration. However seeing everything in my blog put all together it makes me really
happy because i didn't expect myself to achieve something that i never thought off.
EBI: It would have been better if we have planned for everything from the beginning because
we slowed down a little bit throughout the filming and the editing, not if we planned it
everything would have been on time and we would have had a secured “ DISTINCTION”,
when we was editing we realised that we had to include more footage because it wasn’t
enough to cover the whole music video, but our teacher decided to cut the intro because it
was useless, we’ve cut about 30 seconds off the music, however we made many last minute
decision which is not good because after a while you will regret it that’s while you need to
plan in advance.
