Task 5

Suela Elezi, Nikon Ahamed.
Resources - Audio Track
The song we have chosen is “Right my Wrongs” by Bryson Tiller. We
chose this song because the song is talking about a man betraying and
cheating on his girlfriend and him wanting to make up for his mistakes
but she wants nothing to do with him.
The lyrics are very useful and beneficial for us to use in our music video
and because the music is unreleased and the lyrics have a strong
meaning we can create a meaningful storyline and express actions which
represent the meaning of the lyrics in our music video. Also, this
unreleased track allows our group to use actions which we can express
through the music video because we will be using the cast to be the
actors in the video and show the story that the lyrics are saying and tell
the audience a story.
Resources - Sources of finance
For our sources of finance we need to buy props that we will use in
our music video, we have thought of a budget of £40 overall. We
don’t need to spend money on equipment such as a camera or
tripod because the school is providing us with all the equipment we
need in order to make the music video. We are going to get clothing
that matches the type of music genre and the lyrics (storyline) for
example red for love/danger. We are not provided with clothing so
we will need to buy clothing or use our own for the music video. if
we want to get to a certain location we are going to need to pay for
travel we will be getting bus or train to our locations. We are going
to move locations to make the music video more entertaining for the
audience to watch. Source of finance is an important resource
because if we do not have finance we can not make the music video
realistic and it will not allow us to buy props that we can use to make
the video more appealing.
Resources - Video cameras
The cameras that we will need to use are going to be panasonic full HD video
cameras. Panasonic v750s which we will borrow from the school. Video cameras
will be used to film our music video and afterwards we will upload the raw
footage on the computers to edit what we just filmed. The video camera is very
important because if we don’t have them we are not going to be able to film and
without filming we can’t make a music video. When we are going to take a still
image for our music video we are going to leave the camera on a tripod so that
the camera doesn’t move and this is good because it makes it more professional.
Also by using a video camera we will have better quality and more storage than
using a video camera from our phones. We will need to get permission from the
school, from the Media department, as we will need permission to use the
equipment which have been bought by the school. We book the equipment out
for a certain amount of time allowing us to go out and film our music video.
Resources - Photo camera
Photo cameras are used to allow us to take photos of things such as what locations we
are going to use, for this we are going to go to our locations and use a photo camera to
take pictures of where we might film our music video, this will allow everyone in our
group to find their own locations and then we will decide as a group what locations we
will use. For the photo camera we will be using our phones and we will put them into
our folder and decide on what locations we are going to use.
The camera will be very useful to use because in our group we can
practice filming before we film the actual footage that we will use for the
music video. Also, the camera is a convenient tool to use because as
we are amateurs we will need a tool that is easy for use to use before
we record the final clips that will be used in the video to make our music
video more professional.
Resources - Filming locations
We will need numerous of filming locations because this will make the video less
boring and make the audience more attracted to the video thanks to the different
locations we will use for different parts of the song.
Location is also crucial as it needs to fit the target audience preferences based on the
genre which in our case is hip-Hop/R&B.
Some of the locations we will be considering to film could be a park or simply outside a
shopping mall because we will need a location that is public and is free to access.
In order to use a specific location for our music video, we will need to get permission
from the owner of the place as we need the consent to film in that location and by
getting permission, we will not be breaking the law or be causing any problems if we
are not allowed to film in the location as we have confirmed with the owner that
recording in the place will be acceptable.
We will be using Final Cut Pro to edit our final music video. This
editing software is very good and has a lot to offer, it has way more
features than other softwares like IMovie and MovieMaker. Final Cut
Pro allows us to use a HD camera which will let us have a high
quality music video. When editing we are going to be using different
features such as cuts and fades. Final cut pro is easy to use and this is
good for us because we have not had a lot of experience with editing.
Editing our music video allows all our footage to be in one place all
together, this allows it to be easy to download and make into our final
production, using a editing software can help us make the music
video as high quality as possible, this can include cutting our footage
to look professional and to also change the colours of some scenes to
help the music video match the mood and setting it is in.
Resources - Editing software
Resources - Editing software
It is important and essential to use an editing software as this
will give us great access to edit the video clips we have
recorded and have easy access to store the recordings. Also,
people will be able to download the music video or watch and
listen to it as the modern softwares have given people easy
access to get music quickly and swiftly.
We are able to access an editing software from asking our
teacher to use the computers, on the computers it has all the
essentials needed to edit our music video into the best product
possible. This is good because it means we do not need to pay
for the software because it is provided to us when we have
permission from our teacher.
Resources - Internet access
We need internet access because in the group we will need to communicate with each
other and use the internet to do research. We will also need internet to communicate
because we will need it for our phones so we can text each other and to email to others
the work. We will also be using the internet to keep all our work in a folder on google
drive, this allows everyone to access anyones work and for people to modify the work to
make it as best as we can.
If we do not have internet access, we will not be successful in communicating with each
other or to send each other work. Moving on, without internet access, my group and I
will not be able to do research or get the unreleased track for our music video since we
need the track to make the storyline and use its lyrics. Also if we didn't have internet we
wouldn't be able to download the songs and other effects to put into our music video
while editing.
Because the world has become more digitised, people are now able to get access rapidly
and listen to music portably as they can listen or watch the music vode anywhere they
go.
Resources - Desktop publishing software
We will use need to use desktop publishing software such as Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel, Photoshop and Microsoft Powerpoint. Microsoft
Word will help us to create our script and the planning in general for the
music video, in addition to that we are going to be using Word for our
minutes of meeting that will take place every monday and will be about
our ideas and thoughts for the week ahead of us.
Microsoft Excel will be needed in order to keep on track and see how
much money will be needed to create the music video. Photoshop will be
another desktop publishing software which we will need to use in order
to create our logo and make our visions of our products. Finally, we will
be using Microsoft Powerpoint to create a slideshow where we will be
putting all of our ideas about the video and we will use it to create a
storyboard.
Resources - Desktop publishing software
By using all these desktop publishing softwares, we
are going to benefit a lot as we will be able to vary
how to present our work based on preferences and
needs. For example, if we need to write up or script
or plan, we can use Word which will give us a blank
page for our work to be written on. We are able to
access all of these softwares from the computers
provided by the school, all of these computers
include all of the softwares needed to create all of our
pre production, such as word and powerpoint, this is
very useful because it means we do not need to spend
money or film other devices because it is all given to
us in school.
Resources - Props
When recording the music video, we will need to use props because they are going to be used
when the cast is acting in the music video. Props can make the scene feel more authentic and
realistic, it can also help the actors play their role better.
Props are beneficial in the music video because they can be used in a scene to make it more
interesting and the actor(s) can use them to show a link to the context of the video. For
example, many music videos and movies use props because they would need costumes or
equipment if their video has a specific genre. So, if the movie was horror, the cast would need
props such as masks or weapons to show the representation of the genre horror and they would
need these props to use when acting in the scenes. Props are so important when creating your
production they are the main items to make up your film because without them the production
may not make any sense and people may not understand what is going on, when you have props
you need to make sure they relate to what is happening in the production, for our music video
one main prop is going to be a bottle of alcohol, this is an important prop to us because we show
in the production the character is drunk so having the prop involved allows the audience to
recognise this.
Regulations
The BBFC are regulating music videos, BBFC stands for british board of film classification. We
will need to make sure not to break any rules from the regulatory board and this can include
copyrights too, so when we use the song in our music video we are going to contact sony and
ask if we are allowed to use their song in our music video. Therefore we will show the email
with their response so they know it is not copyrighted. We will also make it suitable for most
ages so we will be making sure that the music video doesn't include any use of drugs, offensive
language or sex scenes. Regulations are vital and important when making and releasing a music
video as people will need to be aware of the age rating and make sure if their age is suitable to
watch the video and if not they should get the permission from a guardian. Having all these
regulations on our products allows guardians and parents to feel safe with what their children
may be watching, it allows the market to run smoothly with people knowing what is suitable
and what is not.
Regulations
If the regulations of the video are not suitable for the target
audience, they will need to change their tactics as they will
need to make the video suitable for the audience and make
sure that they put an age rating on the video so that people
will know if they are allowed to watch the video or not.
Regulations affects the audience and who the product is
aimed at, if you start to make your production for a young age
you will need to make sure all the footage is suitable for your
audience because the regulations can be for a different age
and you cannot have the same target audience as expected.
You will need to make sure it is all appropriate for your
specific audience. Regulations can affect the industry if you
say a film is for a different audience than it should be, this can
cause younger people to see things that may not be suitable
for them to watch.
Regulations
Regulatory bodies are organisations that supervise the content of specific media
industries and aim to safeguard the public from offensive/sexual content. BBFC in
particular (British Board Of Film Classification)work on safeguarding and their
mission is to:
- Protect the public and especially children, from content that might raise harm
risks
- Empower the public, especially parents to make informed viewing choices
- Responding to and reflect changing social attitudes towards media content
through proactive public consultation and research
They are doing this to music videos to ensure the safety of children when watching
Time
Time is crucial in making the music video because we will need to set a day
and arrange times for us to meet so we can make the music video quickly and
on time so it will be finished and ready before the deadline set by our
teacher/examiner. We also need to make sure we don't waste any time as
editing is going to take a long time and we don't want to go over our deadline;
to make sure we don't miss our deadline we are all going to work together and
do as much as we can in the limit of time we have.
Apart from deadlines, time is also crucial as during filming we need to time
ourself properly in order to act properly based on the beat of the song so that
then it’s easier to edit. Also, by having free lessons, it gives use to time to catch
up on work that maybe one of us have missed or it gives us time to finish off
our work before the deadline.
Contributors
Crew - behind the camera & Cast - in front of camera
We will need to contribute in the music video because we will need people to be the cast
and others to be the crew, although, the people in our group are all part of the crew and
some of us may be part of the cast as they will be acting so that we can have different people
doing different jobs in order to make the music video happen, also by having two different
groups, cast and crew, people will be able to go and do their jobs and save time by having
people doing different specific things. Not having specific jobs means that people in our
group will not know what to do and this will lose us more time when we could be doing
other things, so the cast and crew are important because they let everyone know what to do
and this will allow us to get in with our work and for people to do their jobs that needs to be
done.

Unit 1,16,29 task 5 Edited

  • 1. Unit 1,16,29 Task 5 Ben Karrass, Laura Hodgson, Suela Elezi, Nikon Ahamed.
  • 2. Resources - Audio Track The song we have chosen is “Right my Wrongs” by Bryson Tiller. We chose this song because the song is talking about a man betraying and cheating on his girlfriend and him wanting to make up for his mistakes but she wants nothing to do with him. The lyrics are very useful and beneficial for us to use in our music video and because the music is unreleased and the lyrics have a strong meaning we can create a meaningful storyline and express actions which represent the meaning of the lyrics in our music video. When we are going to take a still image for our music video we are going to leave the camera on a tripod so that the camera doesn’t move and this is good because it makes it more professional. Also by using a video camera we will have better quality and more storage than using a video camera from our phones. We will need to get permission from the school, from the Media department, as we will need permission to use the equipment which have been bought by the school. We book the equipment out for a certain amount of time allowing us to go out and film our music video.
  • 5. Resources - Photo camera Photo cameras are used to allow us to take photos of things such as what locations we are going to use, for this we are going to go to our locations and use a photo camera to take pictures of where we might film our music video, this will allow everyone in our group to find their own locations and then we will decide as a group what locations we will use. For the photo camera we will be using our phones and we will put them into our folder and decide on what locations we are going to use. The camera will be very useful to use because in our group we can practice filming before we film the actual footage that we will use for the music video. Also, the camera is a convenient tool to use because as we are amateurs we will need a tool that is easy for use to use before we record the final clips that will be used in the video to make our music video more professional.
  • 6. Resources - Filming locations We will need numerous of filming locations because this will make the video less boring and make the audience more attracted to the video thanks to the different locations we will use for different parts of the song. Location is also crucial as it needs to fit the target audience preferences based on the genre which in our case is hip-Hop/R&B. Some of the locations we will be considering to film could be a park or simply outside a shopping mall because we will need a location that is public and is free to access. In order to use a specific location for our music video, we will need to get permission from the owner of the place as we need the consent to film in that location and by getting permission, we will not be breaking the law or be causing any problems if we are not allowed to film in the location as we have confirmed with the owner that recording in the place will be acceptable.
  • 7. We will be using Final Cut Pro to edit our final music video. This editing software is very good and has a lot to offer, it has way more features than other softwares like IMovie and MovieMaker. Final Cut Pro allows us to use a HD camera which will let us have a high quality music video. When editing we are going to be using different features such as cuts and fades. Final cut pro is easy to use and this is good for us because we have not had a lot of experience with editing. Editing our music video allows all our footage to be in one place all together, this allows it to be easy to download and make into our final production, using a editing software can help us make the music video as high quality as possible, this can include cutting our footage to look professional and to also change the colours of some scenes to help the music video match the mood and setting it is in. Resources - Editing software
  • 8. Resources - Editing software It is important and essential to use an editing software as this will give us great access to edit the video clips we have recorded and have easy access to store the recordings. Also, people will be able to download the music video or watch and listen to it as the modern softwares have given people easy access to get music quickly and swiftly. We are able to access an editing software from asking our teacher to use the computers, on the computers it has all the essentials needed to edit our music video into the best product possible. This is good because it means we do not need to pay for the software because it is provided to us when we have permission from our teacher.
  • 9. Resources - Internet access We need internet access because in the group we will need to communicate with each other and use the internet to do research. We will also need internet to communicate because we will need it for our phones so we can text each other and to email to others the work. We will also be using the internet to keep all our work in a folder on google drive, this allows everyone to access anyones work and for people to modify the work to make it as best as we can. If we do not have internet access, we will not be successful in communicating with each other or to send each other work. Moving on, without internet access, my group and I will not be able to do research or get the unreleased track for our music video since we need the track to make the storyline and use its lyrics. Also if we didn't have internet we wouldn't be able to download the songs and other effects to put into our music video while editing. Because the world has become more digitised, people are now able to get access rapidly and listen to music portably as they can listen or watch the music vode anywhere they go.
  • 10. Resources - Desktop publishing software We will use need to use desktop publishing software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Photoshop and Microsoft Powerpoint. Microsoft Word will help us to create our script and the planning in general for the music video, in addition to that we are going to be using Word for our minutes of meeting that will take place every monday and will be about our ideas and thoughts for the week ahead of us. Microsoft Excel will be needed in order to keep on track and see how much money will be needed to create the music video. Photoshop will be another desktop publishing software which we will need to use in order to create our logo and make our visions of our products. Finally, we will be using Microsoft Powerpoint to create a slideshow where we will be putting all of our ideas about the video and we will use it to create a storyboard.
  • 11. Resources - Desktop publishing software By using all these desktop publishing softwares, we are going to benefit a lot as we will be able to vary how to present our work based on preferences and needs. For example, if we need to write up or script or plan, we can use Word which will give us a blank page for our work to be written on. We are able to access all of these softwares from the computers provided by the school, all of these computers include all of the softwares needed to create all of our pre production, such as word and powerpoint, this is very useful because it means we do not need to spend money or film other devices because it is all given to us in school.
  • 12. Resources - Props When recording the music video, we will need to use props because they are going to be used when the cast is acting in the music video. Props can make the scene feel more authentic and realistic, it can also help the actors play their role better. Props are beneficial in the music video because they can be used in a scene to make it more interesting and the actor(s) can use them to show a link to the context of the video. For example, many music videos and movies use props because they would need costumes or equipment if their video has a specific genre. So, if the movie was horror, the cast would need props such as masks or weapons to show the representation of the genre horror and they would need these props to use when acting in the scenes. Props are so important when creating your production they are the main items to make up your film because without them the production may not make any sense and people may not understand what is going on, when you have props you need to make sure they relate to what is happening in the production, for our music video one main prop is going to be a bottle of alcohol, this is an important prop to us because we show in the production the character is drunk so having the prop involved allows the audience to recognise this.
  • 13. Regulations The BBFC are regulating music videos, BBFC stands for british board of film classification. We will need to make sure not to break any rules from the regulatory board and this can include copyrights too, so when we use the song in our music video we are going to contact sony and ask if we are allowed to use their song in our music video. Therefore we will show the email with their response so they know it is not copyrighted. We will also make it suitable for most ages so we will be making sure that the music video doesn't include any use of drugs, offensive language or sex scenes. Regulations are vital and important when making and releasing a music video as people will need to be aware of the age rating and make sure if their age is suitable to watch the video and if not they should get the permission from a guardian. Having all these regulations on our products allows guardians and parents to feel safe with what their children may be watching, it allows the market to run smoothly with people knowing what is suitable and what is not.
  • 14. Regulations If the regulations of the video are not suitable for the target audience, they will need to change their tactics as they will need to make the video suitable for the audience and make sure that they put an age rating on the video so that people will know if they are allowed to watch the video or not. Regulations affects the audience and who the product is aimed at, if you start to make your production for a young age you will need to make sure all the footage is suitable for your audience because the regulations can be for a different age and you cannot have the same target audience as expected. You will need to make sure it is all appropriate for your specific audience. Regulations can affect the industry if you say a film is for a different audience than it should be, this can cause younger people to see things that may not be suitable for them to watch.
  • 15. Regulations Regulatory bodies are organisations that supervise the content of specific media industries and aim to safeguard the public from offensive/sexual content. BBFC in particular (British Board Of Film Classification)work on safeguarding and their mission is to: - Protect the public and especially children, from content that might raise harm risks - Empower the public, especially parents to make informed viewing choices - Responding to and reflect changing social attitudes towards media content through proactive public consultation and research They are doing this to music videos to ensure the safety of children when watching
  • 16. Time Time is crucial in making the music video because we will need to set a day and arrange times for us to meet so we can make the music video quickly and on time so it will be finished and ready before the deadline set by our teacher/examiner. We also need to make sure we don't waste any time as editing is going to take a long time and we don't want to go over our deadline; to make sure we don't miss our deadline we are all going to work together and do as much as we can in the limit of time we have. Apart from deadlines, time is also crucial as during filming we need to time ourself properly in order to act properly based on the beat of the song so that then it’s easier to edit. Also, by having free lessons, it gives use to time to catch up on work that maybe one of us have missed or it gives us time to finish off our work before the deadline.
  • 17. Contributors Crew - behind the camera & Cast - in front of camera We will need to contribute in the music video because we will need people to be the cast and others to be the crew, although, the people in our group are all part of the crew and some of us may be part of the cast as they will be acting so that we can have different people doing different jobs in order to make the music video happen, also by having two different groups, cast and crew, people will be able to go and do their jobs and save time by having people doing different specific things. Not having specific jobs means that people in our group will not know what to do and this will lose us more time when we could be doing other things, so the cast and crew are important because they let everyone know what to do and this will allow us to get in with our work and for people to do their jobs that needs to be done.
