Clinical Decision Support System Analysis
A computer program that several doctors and hospitals are now using to manage patient care is a
clinical decision support system (CDSS). These programs theoretically will compile the patient s
medical history, access the long term treatments, and help in the diagnosis process with the
information accumulated from multiple areas within the program. The four main functions of the
program are administrative, managing clinical complexity and details, cost control and decision
support. The systems have been created for time management, to retain more precise records and to
assist in the diagnosis process for physicians. This allows for consistent and standardized care.
Multiple inquiries and apprehensions arise with the use of a CDSS program. The computer
program can only amass the information that is entered into the system. It is imperative that the

There is concern for the doctor/patient relationship, in addition to, how well the system diagnosis
s serious illnesses. Continuous and monitored training is also a necessity. What and who is
making those decisions? If a physician assistant sees a patient and the program gives a diagnosis,
is the patient truly getting the proper care, what about the accuracy of the invoice? Will this allow
a less qualified individual to make decisions in regard to the patients health care that may not be
within the scope of the job? Will there become a point that doctors rely too much on the CDSS? In
my opinion, the greatest fear would be a data breach with the amount of personal and medical health
information collected at businesses using a CDSS program. The most advanced and stringent
security measures would be imperative. Although having interoperability among the numerous
different CDSS programs could be beneficial, it also opens the door for increased

Kamala Markandaya s Nectar In A Sieve
The constant struggle between progress and tradition has plagued every society over the course of
human civilization. This struggle is represented in the Kamala Markandaya s novel Nectar in a
Sieve, through the tannery. The tannery represents modernization through multiple different
elements, such as industrialization and social change. The tanneryindustry brought a new way of
life to villager Rukmani and her family. Family values are a huge part of the traditional culture of
the village, but when the tannery enters the picture this all changes. As the reader sees in Rukmani
s family, the appeal of wage work it too much for many young sons to resist. As stated above, this
causes many of these young men to leave their family s tenant farm

Theme Of Expressionism In Bury The Dead
The characters, conflicts and physical settings in Bury the Dead are all carefully constructed to
initiate a specific emotional response. They are not created to be analyzed as being apart of
reality. However, expressionism is not a subset of complete fantasy, it is a distilled form of reality
in which an artist or author can focus specifically on an event, person or group of people and the
subsequent inner reaction he or she wants to make aware to the audience. Expressionismcan be
found throughout literature, art and theater, therefore it is not difficult to exhibit similar
reactions found in Bury the Dead in other mediums or even settings. A new transposition of
Shaw s work would ardently relate the stark themes to a modern audience. The second facet of
Shaw s play that stands out as essential is the use of sardonic wit in his dialogue. Verbal quips
can be described as sardonic if they are intended to criticize or demean a person or group of
people. For example, in Bury the Dead, the Doctor references the apathy of the Generals during his
examinations.
Shaw, primarily because the play is a form of propaganda, constructs the dialogue of every character
to carry the weight of his thesis of dichotomy. This realization connects the sardonic wit back to the
expressionistic characteristics. The characters and the setting are literary marionettes dancing to the
music of propaganda, holding no free intelligence unaligned to Shaw s themes. In a vast sea of
consumerism and

Essay On Group Recovery
Six Elements or Aspects for Group Meeting Recovery
1) Learn from other people s experiences: I learned that when other group members share their
experiences it usually incudes relapsing. If a client has no experience with relapsing he/she can
and probably will learn that relapsing is a part of recovery.
2) Learn coping skills: A client may learn skills that will help them from doing the same thing that
contributed to their addiction. They may learn that continuing to attend meetings, meditation,
exercising and in some cases medicine may avert them form using drugs again.
3) Get in touch with a higher power: Client may have never gotten in touch with his/her higher
power. Addicts have testified to how the belief in a higher than themselves has helped them through
the recovery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their story may guide him/her away from their routine shortcomings.
Six Elements or Aspects for Group Meeting Challenges or Barriers
1)May not be comfortable or accepting of a higher power: If your client is an atheist he/she may
be uncomfortable with support group members professing their belief and allegiance to God or a
higher power. Also, most meetings end with the Lord s pray.
2)Support Group maybe to advance for client or not the right fit: I have noticed that some support
groups are run like a family reunion, everybody knows everybody, accept the newcomer. I know
that the most important person in the group is supposed to be the newcomer but that is not always
the case. I have witness the regulars dominating the session while other group member just sit
back because they know that this is what this person does on a regular basics, leaving little time
for the newcomer to fit in. I ve learned that the counselor/clinician must consider the best fit when
referring a client, especially a newcomer who does not know what to expect from a support

Examples Of Participant Observation
Participant Observation The place that I chose to observe, was my daughter s karate practice.
Normally I am not the one that brings her, but for the sake of this assignment I attended the two
hour practice. The primary focus of study was; the physical setting, people and the patterns. Over
the course of two hours, the topic of participant observationstarted to come out and detaching
myself to a neutral point of view helped in providing a clearer picture. Here are the observations
that I made during karate practice. Sitting in a row of chairs the first observation I made
portended to the physical settings. The building was a large room with lots of open areas with
mirrors surrounding mats. These mirrors allowed the kids and instructors to observe each other
anywhere in the room. The adult seating area was separated by a low wall to still allow viewing,
but adds a physical barrier to keep the kid from running to their parents whenever they wanted.

As the kids entered and line up on the mat the instructors made it a point to greet every child and
ask them some questions to calm them down. After everyone lined up they all said the Dojo
creeds and then pledged allegiance to the flag of the United States. Now as I observed the adults.
Most them were women that used the time as their kids trained to socialize in small groups. This
was interesting because they only conversed with the people of the group. They hardly even
acknowledged the other small groups of women. The few men that did attend sat by themselves and
only focused on the children training. As the training began it follows a set guidelines of stretching,
warm ups, then the training of the day. During the two block of training the thing that stood out
about patterns is the small groups of women made up by social class. Out of all the groups the
wealthy women stayed to together and the lower income women stayed in their

Ford Mustang Pros And Cons
2005 Ford Mustang There was a time, once, when it symbolized everything Americans loved
about their cars. Powerful. Fast looking, with a tough stance. Practical enough to be convenient,
and impractical enough to be fun. Affordable. It could gallop like a horse and a regular guy
could afford one. It was the people s icon of American car culture. Was. It s a bitter, lonely word.
And at some point, people started connecting it to the Mustang. While Ford executives will point
to the sales figures (140,000 last year) as proof that the Mustang has always been a great seller
with a strong following, there was, nonetheless, a fading love for the car that has been a part of the
American highway landscape for 40 years. The Mustang simply stopped conjuring... Show more

Extrapolation Lab Report
section{Measurement of oxygen consumption} The methods to measure oxygen consumption
either directly or by extrapolation can be classified into invasive and non invasive methods.
subsection{Invasive methods of measurement of oxygen consumption}
1. Bedside measure:
I will discuss Lactate, $PCO_{2}$ difference, and mixed venous oxygen saturation.
A. textit{Lactate}:
Normal arterial serum lactate ranges between 0 and 2 mmol/L. The production of lactate occurs
when tissues have insufficient supply of oxygen. The glycolysis for energy production is not
optimal in these low perfusion / low oxygen states. The body is forced to produce ATP (albeit
inefficiently) by anaerobic pathways. The end product of this anaerobic reaction is Lactate. Hence,
an increase in lactate can be a marker of low perfusion or low oxygen states.
B. textit{Mixed venous oxygen saturation}:
The true mixed venous oxygen saturation is measured from a pulmonary artery catheter placed in
the main pulmonary arterial trunk. Blood returning to the right side of the heart contains the
residual oxygen after utilisation by the tissues. This makes the $MxVenO_{2}$ an indirect measure
of whole body tissue oxygen consumption. Acute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In paediatric intensive care non invasive techniques are preferred for measurement of oxygen
extraction. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a popular method used in large research
units. Another variant is the functional MRI (fMRI) with blood oxygen level dependent effect
(BOLD). This technique has been widely used in the neuroscience
department.cite{Carlier:2006hg} Scientists are also able to measure oxygen consumption in the
brain in animal models by using fluorescence microscopy.cite{Dmitriev:2012kb} The only
available technique for use as a bedside non invasive measure in the paediatric intensive care
setting is Near InfraRed Spectroscopy

Body Image Concern In Adolescent Girls
Purpose: In the article Net Girls: The Internet, Facebook, and Body Image Concern in Adolescent
Girls Marika Tiggemann, Ph.D. and Amy Slater, Ph.D. (Clin Psych) questioned whether there is a
connection between internet use and adolescent body image concern. These researchers also
focused their study on one specific social networking site, Facebook.
Method:
Researchers in this study grouped together a sample of 1,087 girls aged 13 and 15 who were in
the first two years of high school, 8th and 9th grade. The sample of adolescent girls was selected
from 18 different schools across South Australia. In order to make this experiment as diverse as
possible, The Department of Education selected a wide range of adolescent girls that came from
different socioeconomic status. Additionally, they selected students from private and public
schooling (Tiggerman Slater, 2013).
Measures:
Internet Exposure: Adolescent girls were asked how long they spend on the internet each
disregarding hours spent for homework. The answers ranged from 0 6 hours. After measuring

China s Economic Growth Is Unstable, Unbalanced,...
In the National People s Congress press conference in March 2007, China s Premier Wen Jiabao
argues the biggest problem with China s economy is that its economic growth is unstable,
unbalanced, uncoordinated, and unsustainable. Since export and investment play unsustainable
roles in increasing China s real GDP, this study tries to testify how consumption enhances the
sustainability of China s real GDP in the short run over a long period of time. As Krugman
(1994) suggests, increase in the economic growth rate in the steady state can only be attained by
the technological progress. However, it is also true that the increase in consumption will
increase the real GDP in the short run. Based on the fact that the current ratio of consumption
over output in China is much smaller than that of other countries, such as Japan and the United
States, a higher ratio will increase China s real GDP in the short run. Since it takes several years
for China to change its economic structure toward consumption, the accumulation of each larger
real GDP in the short run will result in a much larger real GDP in the long run. In other words,
the increase in consumption will increase China s economic growth rate indirectly. Therefore,
this study uses a macroeconmetric model of Chinese economy to quantify what China s real
GDP would be in a series of increases in the ratio of consumption over output, spread over a long
period of time and predicts what China s real GDP level will be in the future

disney movies
Stereotypes Stereotypes are generalizations and overgeneralizations about the member of a group;
sometimes being positive, more often negative, having a resistance to change (Ziebarth, 2009). The
Disney organization does not create the stereotypes, they simply reflect them (What about Women
in Disney Movies?, 2008). Disney movies, however, are filled with stereotypes, ranging from
social stereotypes to racial stereotypes. Although Disney movies are filled with an abundant
amount of different stereotypes, the most common stereotypes seen in Disney movies are gender
stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are when a group is generalized based on gender (female or
male). In Disney movies the most common area to see gender stereotyping is... Show more content

Racial profiling is common within the Disney films. Where it is most commonly seen is within
movies where two races are mixing, such as in the movie Pocahontas. Disney is not necessarily
discriminating against a race through film, but Disney is making a point of portraying race and
culture through film incorrectly based on stereotypes. Aladdin is an original Disney movie
which brought racial profiling into question. Simply starting with the names of the characters
brings question about race into view. The two most questioned names were Aladdin and Jafaar,
names which were supposed to symbolize the poor Middle Eastern culture, are names that
originally originate from Russia. Also, since this movie was supposed to be in a Middle Eastern
city, the characters all had a dark complexion. The dark complexion was correct on Disney s
part; however, what was incorrect was that all the facial features were European. By having the
incorrect facial features with the dark skin tone it teaches children that they can sort people by
race solely on a person s skin color. Aladdin was portrayed as simply a white man was a dark tan
(Disney s Protrayal of Culture and Race in Film, 2009). Another Disney film which had racial
profiling in it is The Lion King. In The Lion King, white actors played the voices along with
African American actors. The fact that Disney had an interracial cast was good, but the white
voices played the good guys and the African American voices were

Steroid Use in Pro Sports is Unethical Essay
When you were a kid, didn t you want to play a professional sport? What would you give to be
one of the best athletes in the world? Would you risk your reputation? Your health? Would you
be willing to die? Although many studies have come out saying that steroids diminish one s
health, people still take them hoping to be the best. Imagine if you were a 28 year old who left
college early because a pro team guaranteed you that you would play in the big leagues. Yet you
just got stuck in the minors, and the only way you could get to the big s was to take a pill that

Athletics play such an important role in our society, but, unfortunately, some in professional sports
are not setting much of an example. The use of performance enhancing drugs like steroids in
baseball, football, and other sports is dangerous, and it sends the wrong message that there are
shortcuts to accomplishment, and that performance is more important than character. So tonight I
call on team owners, union representatives, coaches, and players to take the lead, to send the right
signal, to get tough, and to get rid of steroids now.
Steroids are laboratory made versions of the human hormone testosterone, which aids growth of
muscles, bones and skin. Testosterone is primarily a male hormone, though females produce trace
amounts. Doctors, for medical uses, may legally prescribe steroids. Steroids for muscle building
are obtained illegally; they are produced overseas or in clandestine laboratories in the U.S. For all
the health risks, research shows steroids do work when it comes to building muscle and power.
These things, in my judgment, work better than most scientists believe, says Gary Wadler of the
New York University School of Medicine, the athletes figured out how well these work long before
scientists. (pg. 13)
Steroids work as follows. When receptor sites don t have much testosterone, then get flooded with
it, they get activated.

The Game That Changed the United States
There is a difference between conceit and confidence. Conceit is bragging about yourself.
Confidence means you believe and you can get the job done. Johnny Unitas.
The conceit in people only assures them a strong attitude and a massive ego. Confidence on the
other hand will be the player who believes they are good enough and have the ability to play the
game with passion. Some professional football players believe that they are too good to not be

Another way the National Football League has affected the U.S.is a social matter. Whether it is
the tourism, advertisements or the advancements in video games and television, the NFL has
left a foot print on America socially. An example of the impact the NFL has on tourism is when
people all over the country travel to go watch their favorite teams play football. The majority
enjoy a cold beer and the intense roughness of the crowds during the football games. The
competitiveness and massive stadiums full of people are an example of the way the NFL has
changed the U.S. socially. Numerous people also enjoy watching the football games on
television. Today there are a huge number of advertisements and channels that have to do with
the football games taking place. When the big game is on television on Sundays, a lot of families
enjoy having small parties. Kids from California to Maine are enjoying the advances in

Analysis Of An Inspector Calls By Mendoza Okara...
It is fair to say that, Mendoza utilises Onofre Bouvila as a character to be portrayed as a direct
parallel to the development and aspirations of Barcelona. This is expressed in the novel, since; it
is irrelevant how rich and powerful Onofre becomes, he will never be accepted by the social elite.
This is due to the fact that, he can never be on the top rung of the social ladder literally and
figuratively, due to his impoverished upbringing and working class background. corriГі hacia la

scene, Onofre aspires to sit on the top table with the Czarina. Nevertheless, even though he is
incredibly powerful and considered to be the richest man in Spain, due to his deprived childhood
and lower class background, he will never be able to sit on that top table. Consequently, Onofre
will never reach the upper echelons of Barcelonas social elite. Therefore, it could be argued that
Onofre is a metaphor for Barcelona given the fact that,

The Overall Growth And Development Of C.p
Introduction C.P. is a 14 year old male that this nursing student saw on January 19, 2016 who was
admitted to Renown Health s pediatric floor to determine the cause of his cyclical vomiting. C.P.
has a secondary diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder. In this paper, I will discuss the overall
growth and development of C.P. based on four developmental theorists and other children in his age
range.
Overview of Growth and Development Growth generally refers to an increase in the physical
size of a whole or any of its parts or an increase in the number and size of cell. Development is
generally considered to be a continuous, orderly series of conditions leading to activities, new
motives for activities, and patterns of behavior (James, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
51). C.P. is fourteen years old, he is categorized in the adolescence stage and age grouping.
Parameters of growth provide information on how the child should normally grow. Data in the
determination of normal includes weight, height, and head circumference. It is suggested that these
should be measured at regular intervals throughout childhood to ensure the child is on track for
normal growth (James, et al, 2013, p. 51).
Factors influencing growth and development include genetics, environment, culture, nutrition,
health status, and family. Each factor contains information as to how the child s growth and
development can be affected (James, et al, 2013, pp. 52 54).
Developmental Theorists and Theories Freud s stages of psychosexual development. Freud believed
that early childhood experiences provide unconscious motivation for actions later in life (Freud,
1960). The basis of Freud s psychosexual theory is certain parts of the body assume
psychological significance as the focus of sexual energy throughout the development of the child
(James, et al, 2013, p. 57). Freud s work may help to explain normal behavior that parents may
confuse with abnormal behavior, and it also may provide a good foundation for sex education
(James, et al, 2013, p. 57). The stages of this theory include oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital
(James, et al, 2013, p. 57). Oral stage from

Environmental Ngos And Global Environmental Issues
How environmental NGOs use the media to shape global environmental issues Even though there
have been greatly public concerns about environmental issues since 1960s, practical action as the
solution seems to be useless due to the limitation of state and pressure from the corporation.
Moreover, the function of international organizations has also faced with difficulties in terms of
enforcement and regulation; therefore, there has been wide gap between actors responding to
the environmental issues. Environmental NGOs have adequately fulfilled this gap owned
multiple instruments to reach their goals, for example, conducting the environmental concerned
researches, lobbying in both domestic government and global governance and also TNCs, and
more importantly raising public awareness and collective action from below (McCormick 2005:
92). Environmental NGOs, agent of change works in all both levels; political sphere and civil
society (Ford 2011:27). At political level, environmental NGOs act as a pressure group and
lobbyist to government and TNCs. Another level is civil society in which environmental NGOs
acts in domestic levels within the nation boundaries, and also in global level, consequently there
is part of possibility of global civil society in which people are not limited by nation boundary, but
can share common value and perform collective action as a global citizen (McCormick 2005: 93).
In doing so, environmental NGOs always politicize the issues by shaping global

Cultural Influence Of Child-Rearing Practices In Early...
Human Developement 1 Culture and society have profound influences on a child s growth and
development and are important considerations for early childhood teachers if they wish to better
understand children and provide higher quality early childhood education and services to
children and their families, (Te Whaariki, Ministry of Education, 1996). One particular example
of the effect that culture and society can have on the growth and development of a child is child
rearing practices. Different cultural groups and societies have diverse styles of child rearing
practices which are uniquely influenced by a range of values, beliefs and dominate assumptions
(Berk, 2003). A significant factor in view of child rearing practices is the role... Show more content

Thus there is a clear link between child rearing practices, child interactions and children
developing a wide range of cognitive skills. Child rearing practices which include a lot of child
involvement encourage a child s exploration, extend cognitive development and help to extend
new skills (Zhou, Huang, Wang, Wang, Zhao, Yang and Yang, 2006). Many features of child
rearing practices are not only dependent on the education of the caregivers, but also how the
caregivers themselves have been raised. If caregivers were raised with an awareness of the
value of nutritious meals they will be more likely to provided good nutrition to their children
and help children reach optimal levels of physical growth (Berk, 2003) If caregivers value
physical activity themselves, or participated in it regularly as a child, they will be more likely to
provide an environment where a child can engage physically, such as a bike to ride, or sports
equipment. This is all dependent 4 however, on such factors as the health of the parents and/or
the level of household income which may be different from that experienced by the caregiver as
a child. Even the most physically active caregivers may not be able to support the child to engage
in sporting activities which require specific gear, fees, or costly trips to the local pools. If
however child rearing practices encourage children even to engage in simple outside play, such as
running, or climbing a tree a

Religious Views Of The Hippopotamus
ENG 380a
Prof. Vladimir Levchev
Arman Boyajyan The Hippopotamus: T.S.Eliot s Religious Views
Eliot s poem The Hippopotamus is concentrated on the differences and similarities between the
hippopotamus and a church. He chose this animal to make the comparison because he founds that
the animal has a lot of similarities with the church. He wants to make clear the characteristics of the
hippopotamus. The characteristics are not that every other animal has. It is the best to learn those
characteristics, as a person can do something through by learning a skill that another person can t. I
would personally advise students to have a goal and to do everything to reach them.

Three Minute Training Drill
Here we will show a few training drills that you can practice to help improve your skill with the
karambit. When you are practicing your techniques make sure to train with intent, don t just walk
through the motions.
Remember: the way that you train is the way that you will react on the street.
Palasut (To Scoop) To begin the drill, player B (on the right) throws an angle #1 attack. Player A
blocks and slashes at the same time (#1) Player A then scoops the arm and tries to cut player B in
the ribs (#3 4)
Not wanting to be cut, player B steps back with his right foot, checks or blocks with his left and
cuts player A s forearm.
The 2nd drill starts the same but as player A scoops his partners arm, player B quickly strikes at...

Player A throws an angle #1 attack while player B blocks (using the back of his arm and slashes
downward.
This puts him in a better position to pass the arm. A pass goes overhead, if player B would have
sliced upward he would have scooped the arm. As player B passes the arm overhead he grabs it and
slices downward. Then player B returns an angle #1, this allows player A to block, cut and pass
Here player A passes, grabs to control and slices downward. From here the drill keeps repeating.
Scoop Drill For the scoop drill we are moving in the opposite direction as before. Player A attacks
with an angle #1 and player B blocks up instead of down. This allows him to immediately hook his
blade on the opponents arm
What we are looking for is expediency, you would not cut down, then up to scoop as that would be
three moves and the arm may not still be in the same position. You want to simplify it, by cutting
up hooking the arm and then scooping.
From here player B grabs the arm (above the elbow) for control and slashes up. Then returns an
angle #1 attack.
Player A blocks, slashes upward,

The Structure Of The Skeletal System
The skeletal system, while appearing inert at first glance, is a dynamic organ responsible for a
number of vital functions in the body; including but not limited to providing protection and support
to other organ systems, as well as permitting movement through collaboration with the muscular
system. At the cellular level, boneprovides a reservoir of growth factors and cytokines, maintains the
acid base balance and mineral homeostasis, and is the site of hematopoeisis. Like other connective
tissue, bone has both a cellular and an extracellular matrix component. The matrix is made up of
collagen fibers and noncollagenous proteins, with type I collagen accounting for ~90% of total
protein, and the noncollagenous osteocalcin, osteopontin, and bone sialoprotein, and others making
up the other 10%. In contrast with other connective tissue, the extracellular matrix of bone is
mineralized physiologically, though the deposition of layers of carbonated hydroxyapatite. This
mineral component, making up 50 70% of bone, provides bone s characteristic mechanical rigidity
and strength (Clarke 2008). Elasticity and flexibility are due to the organic matrix, which makes up
another 20 40%, lending bone incredible resilience without compromising its strength, and another
5 10% of bone is water.
There are two major types of bone; trabecular (also called cancellous or spongy), and cortical (also

Descriptive Essay About Cats
I hated cats, I disliked the way they smell or always want to cuddle and how they like to dig their
sharp claws into your leather chairs. Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it s coffee or
jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. Each day, my ritual begins at six in
the morning with me walking my ten cats down Canal Street to Pet Central to buy catfood. I used to
despise cats until I became their caretaker after a tragedy. This is my story about how I became the
man on Canal Street with 10 felines.
I remember going over to my Mom s apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall.
As I entered the house the foul smell of felines engulfed my nose and I began to sneeze all over
my Mother s furniture. I yelled to the top of my lungs I HATE CATS! to which she scolded me
and said At least they keep me company unlike you in a sarcastic voice. Then she went into the
kitchen to retrieve the roast she had been preparing all day. The smell of the golden roast helped
me forget the stench of her cats. As we ate she told me about her day and how she had bought a
new cat, to which I replied in a frustrated tone, You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count
after 7 and it can t be healthy for your breathing with all this dandruff and cat hair floating in the
air I stammered. She bypassed my remark, then blurted out I invited you over because something

The three purchasing strategies are summarized as below.
Exploit Make the most of your high buying power to secure good prices and long term contracts
from a number of suppliers, so that you can reduce the supply risk involved in these important
items. You may also be able to make spot purchases of individual batches of the item, if a particular

The Success Of A Recession
Warren Buffett, entrepreneur and investor once said, It s only when the tide goes out that you
discover who s been swimming naked. In order to know exactly what Mr. Buffett was talking
about when he said this line, you would have either had to be there or one day have the
opportunity to ask him yourself. However, in the context of comparing this quote to economics, or
perhaps banking, one could say that what he meant was that the choices that are made today might
not be judged until later down the road. For example, a recessionis not something that just happens
over night. In the event leading up to a recession, there are many factors and every recession is
unique in their own way. As for the great recession in 2008, the causes included subprime lending,
and greed amongst lenders and borrowers. Before jumping straight into the causes of the 2008
recession, first you must be informed of the history in previous recessions America has had to face.
Since the Great Depressionended in mid 1930 s, America has had to overcome around eleven
recessions. Now some might argue that not all recorded recessions were worthy of getting the tittle
as an official recession. Many will simply say it was slight hiccup in the economy because of the
short six to eight month duration of the smaller recessions. When divided over the years It seems
that the United Stateshas one to two recessions every decade. However, everyone of the short
recessions had a significant impact on the American

King Louis XVIII agreed to the creation of a constitution and promised a constitutional
monarchy, with a bicameral parliament, religious toleration, and constitutional rights for all
citizens. However, the parliament was composed of extremely right wing royalists and was
dismissed in 1816 due to disagreements. Louis XVIII later died in 1824, but he spent the rest of
his time at the throne trying to heal the wounds of the Revolution. Following the death of Louis
XVIII, his brother Charles X took the throne in 1824. Though the people were optimistic at the
beginning of his reign, the opinion of the new king eventually turned sour. Charles X returned
the land to the enemies of the Revolution that had been during the time under Napoleon, largely
at the expense of bourgeois holders of government bonds. Charles X was also not religiously
tolerant. He was a devoted Catholic, thus giving a large amount of power to the clergy and
imposed the death penalty for refusing the Eucharist or any other religious sacraments. As Charles
X lost support in parliament and from the general population, he felt the need to suspend the
elections for officials because of radical motives. On July 26th, by Article 14 of the Charter,
Charles X was able to put into action the July Ordinances, which included four rules: censored the
press, dissolved the newly elected chamber, altered the electoral system, and called for elections in
September. The violation of the

Homelessness and Mental Illness

Homelessness and mental illness are linked. These two happenings have similar beginnings.
Homelessnessis influenced by drug and alcohol disuse, being homeless at a young age, money

first real solutions shown in reintroducing the once homeless into society. Haven for Hope homeless

Identity In Mirror Image And Flowers For Algernon
George R.R. Martin once said, Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it
your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be
used to hurt you. In both stories of Mirror Image by Lena Coakley and Flowers for Algernon by
Daniel Keyes they have a common theme of identity and about how you find yourself. For both
the characters in the story they find themselves finally by first losing themselves. For example in
the short story of Mirror Image, Alice is a character who struggles to find herself and tries to
understand if this is truly who she is. The situation of Alice is that she is the first to successfully

The Equity Method Records Dividends

College Professors Essay
College Professors
The first day of class for a college student is like drawing cards in a poker game. Just as the cards
that one receives determines their outcome in poker, the types of professors a student gets on the
first day will determine the success of their year. The difference between a helpful and a harmful
professor can easily result in a much lower grade. College professors have a wide range of

malicious, or uncaring.
One type of professor in the college system is the helpful professor. This professor can be
recognized right away by their smile and joyfulness in the classroom. These professors give upbeat

This professor has a sour attitude toward life in general; therefore they want the students to be
miserable as well. Their lectures are never to the point and usually stray off to make some
negative point about life. They encourage students to ask questions, but only so that they can
make the person with the question feel incompetent for asking it. They are willing to talk with a
student after class, but unlike the helpful professor, the malicious professor is only there to
criticize. They will emphasize the student s faults but never point out their strengths, thus
lowering the self esteem of the student. The tests given by the malicious professor are vague,
full of trickery, and composed of the most difficult material. These tests are not designed to
survey the student s knowledge of the subject, but rather to trip them up and make them fail. If
one works really hard it is possible to earn a good grade in this type of professor s class, but in
general the grades will be as low as the malicious professor can make them.
The third type of professor is the uncaring professor. This type of instructor has lost interest in
teaching; therefore, they do not put any effort into it. This professor can be recognized by their
monotonous tone of voice and lack of interest of the subject. Their lectures only cover the basics of
the material. They make no effort to appeal to the students interests; consequently, most students

Positive And Non Harmful Rewards
On the other hand, you also want to make the positive counter behaviour seem more attractive. You
should try to increase the attractiveness of the alternative, good behaviour by rewarding yourself
and turning the behaviour in to something more fun.
Self control can be quickly improved if you acknowledge the successes you make with little
rewards. Humans seek for that positivity rush, the release of dopamine, which can often be the
cause for bad behaviours. But instead of getting the rush from checking your Facebook every five
minutes, you can seek to turn it around and feel the rewards once you don t check your social media.
When it comes to rewarding the right behaviour, the focus should be on positive and non harmful
reward. For instance, even if over eating isn t your problem you don t want to replace smoking
with eating a cookie, as this can quickly cause you another problem altogether.
What could positive and non harmful rewards be? It should be an action you love and it s a good
idea to swap between a few ideas, to avoid being stuck with another behaviour. For example, you
could go to movies if you avoid being late from work for a whole week. You could buy your
favourite magazine or sleep an hour longer on a Sunday morning. At work, you could take ten
minutes off to chat with a colleague if you finish a task in a specific amount of time.
The key is to find a reward that gives you the feeling of accomplishment and which you don t take
for granted. For instance, if

Kim Phagan-Hansel s Argument Against Transcultural Adoption
Introduction
When adopting a child, you can adopt from many different backgrounds and countries. Historically,
it is uncommon for white families to adopt a child of colour or a child of a different culture than
their own. Until recently, it was uncommon for white people to even be friends with people of
colour. Transcultural adoptionhas many issues as well as well as many benefits. The goal of my
research is to explain all the effects, both good and bad, and evaluate whether it s ethical to adopt
transcultural.
Arguments against transracial adoption and the ways we can fix it

This source helps to understand how there are things out there to bring children closer to their
culture. The American Adoption Agency has an article named Transracial Adoption in America. It
gives examples of each type of transracial adoption and the way that they should handle adoption
from this culture. It also states tips given by experts in order to help the parents understand the
differences in culture. Families considering transracial adoption should also note that adopting a
child of a different race also comes with its own set of unique considerations. They should be
prepared to teach their adopted child about their ethnicity and should foster a home environment
that is open and loving of all races and cultures. As the child grows, adoptive parents should be
prepared to answer questions their child may have about their own ethnic and cultural identity

  • 2. Clinical Decision Support System Analysis A computer program that several doctors and hospitals are now using to manage patient care is a clinical decision support system (CDSS). These programs theoretically will compile the patient s medical history, access the long term treatments, and help in the diagnosis process with the information accumulated from multiple areas within the program. The four main functions of the program are administrative, managing clinical complexity and details, cost control and decision support. The systems have been created for time management, to retain more precise records and to assist in the diagnosis process for physicians. This allows for consistent and standardized care. Multiple inquiries and apprehensions arise with the use of a CDSS program. The computer program can only amass the information that is entered into the system. It is imperative that the managing, monitoring and updating of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is concern for the doctor/patient relationship, in addition to, how well the system diagnosis s serious illnesses. Continuous and monitored training is also a necessity. What and who is making those decisions? If a physician assistant sees a patient and the program gives a diagnosis, is the patient truly getting the proper care, what about the accuracy of the invoice? Will this allow a less qualified individual to make decisions in regard to the patients health care that may not be within the scope of the job? Will there become a point that doctors rely too much on the CDSS? In my opinion, the greatest fear would be a data breach with the amount of personal and medical health information collected at businesses using a CDSS program. The most advanced and stringent security measures would be imperative. Although having interoperability among the numerous different CDSS programs could be beneficial, it also opens the door for increased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Theme Of Expressionism In Bury The Dead The characters, conflicts and physical settings in Bury the Dead are all carefully constructed to initiate a specific emotional response. They are not created to be analyzed as being apart of reality. However, expressionism is not a subset of complete fantasy, it is a distilled form of reality in which an artist or author can focus specifically on an event, person or group of people and the subsequent inner reaction he or she wants to make aware to the audience. Expressionismcan be found throughout literature, art and theater, therefore it is not difficult to exhibit similar reactions found in Bury the Dead in other mediums or even settings. A new transposition of Shaw s work would ardently relate the stark themes to a modern audience. The second facet of Shaw s play that stands out as essential is the use of sardonic wit in his dialogue. Verbal quips can be described as sardonic if they are intended to criticize or demean a person or group of people. For example, in Bury the Dead, the Doctor references the apathy of the Generals during his examinations. Shaw, primarily because the play is a form of propaganda, constructs the dialogue of every character to carry the weight of his thesis of dichotomy. This realization connects the sardonic wit back to the expressionistic characteristics. Extrapolation Lab Report section{Measurement of oxygen consumption} The methods to measure oxygen consumption either directly or by extrapolation can be classified into invasive and non invasive methods. subsection{Invasive methods of measurement of oxygen consumption} 1. Bedside measure: I will discuss Lactate, $PCO_{2}$ difference, and mixed venous oxygen saturation. A. textit{Lactate}: Normal arterial serum lactate ranges between 0 and 2 mmol/L. The production of lactate occurs when tissues have insufficient supply of oxygen. The glycolysis for energy production is not optimal in these low perfusion / low oxygen states. The body is forced to produce ATP (albeit inefficiently) by anaerobic pathways. The end product of this anaerobic reaction is Lactate. Hence, an increase in lactate can be a marker of low perfusion or low oxygen states. B. textit{Mixed venous oxygen saturation}: The true mixed venous oxygen saturation is measured from a pulmonary artery catheter placed in the main pulmonary arterial trunk. Blood returning to the right side of the heart contains the residual oxygen after utilisation by the tissues. This makes the $MxVenO_{2}$ an indirect measure of whole body tissue oxygen consumption. • 11. China s Economic Growth Is Unstable, Unbalanced,... In the National People s Congress press conference in March 2007, China s Premier Wen Jiabao argues the biggest problem with China s economy is that its economic growth is unstable, unbalanced, uncoordinated, and unsustainable. Since export and investment play unsustainable roles in increasing China s real GDP, this study tries to testify how consumption enhances the sustainability of China s real GDP in the short run over a long period of time. As Krugman (1994) suggests, increase in the economic growth rate in the steady state can only be attained by the technological progress. However, it is also true that the increase in consumption will increase the real GDP in the short run. Based on the fact that the current ratio of consumption over output in China is much smaller than that of other countries, such as Japan and the United States, a higher ratio will increase China s real GDP in the short run. Since it takes several years for China to change its economic structure toward consumption, the accumulation of each larger real GDP in the short run will result in a much larger real GDP in the long run. In other words, the increase in consumption will increase China s economic growth rate indirectly. Therefore, this study uses a macroeconmetric model of Chinese economy to quantify what China s real GDP would be in a series of increases in the ratio of consumption over output, spread over a long period of time and predicts what China s real GDP level will be in the future ... This is due to the fact that, he can never be on the top rung of the social ladder literally and figuratively, due to his impoverished upbringing and working class background. corriГі hacia la mesa presidencial... Child rearing practices which include a lot of child involvement encourage a child s exploration, extend cognitive development and help to extend new skills (Zhou, Huang, Wang, Wang, Zhao, Yang and Yang, 2006). Many features of child rearing practices are not only dependent on the education of the caregivers, but also how the caregivers themselves have been raised. If caregivers were raised with an awareness of the value of nutritious meals they will be more likely to provided good nutrition to their children and help children reach optimal levels of physical growth (Berk, 2003) If caregivers value physical activity themselves, or participated in it regularly as a child, they will be more likely to provide an environment where a child can engage physically, such as a bike to ride, or sports equipment. You want to simplify it, by cutting up hooking the arm and then scooping. From here player B grabs the arm (above the elbow) for control and slashes up. Then returns an angle #1 attack. The Structure Of The Skeletal System The skeletal system, while appearing inert at first glance, is a dynamic organ responsible for a number of vital functions in the body; including but not limited to providing protection and support to other organ systems, as well as permitting movement through collaboration with the muscular system. At the cellular level, boneprovides a reservoir of growth factors and cytokines, maintains the acid base balance and mineral homeostasis, and is the site of hematopoeisis. Like other connective tissue, bone has both a cellular and an extracellular matrix component. The matrix is made up of collagen fibers and noncollagenous proteins, with type I collagen accounting for ~90% of total protein, and the noncollagenous osteocalcin, osteopontin, and bone sialoprotein, and others making up the other 10%. In contrast with other connective tissue, the extracellular matrix of bone is mineralized physiologically, though the deposition of layers of carbonated hydroxyapatite. This mineral component, making up 50 70% of bone, provides bone s characteristic mechanical rigidity and strength (Clarke 2008). Elasticity and flexibility are due to the organic matrix, which makes up another 20 40%, lending bone incredible resilience without compromising its strength, and another 5 10% of bone is water. • 28. Descriptive Essay About Cats I hated cats, I disliked the way they smell or always want to cuddle and how they like to dig their sharp claws into your leather chairs. Everybody has their Monday rituals, sometimes it s coffee or jogging through the park, but mine is a little out of the ordinary. Each day, my ritual begins at six in the morning with me walking my ten cats down Canal Street to Pet Central to buy catfood. I used to despise cats until I became their caretaker after a tragedy. This is my story about how I became the man on Canal Street with 10 felines. I remember going over to my Mom s apartment on that cold and soggy day in the middle of Fall. As I entered the house the foul smell of felines engulfed my nose and I began to sneeze all over my Mother s furniture. I yelled to the top of my lungs I HATE CATS! to which she scolded me and said At least they keep me company unlike you in a sarcastic voice. Then she went into the kitchen to retrieve the roast she had been preparing all day. The smell of the golden roast helped me forget the stench of her cats. As we ate she told me about her day and how she had bought a new cat, to which I replied in a frustrated tone, You need to stop with all this cat stuff, I lost count after 7 and it can t be healthy for your breathing with all this dandruff and cat hair floating in the air I stammered. • 30. The Success Of A Recession Warren Buffett, entrepreneur and investor once said, It s only when the tide goes out that you discover who s been swimming naked. In order to know exactly what Mr. Buffett was talking about when he said this line, you would have either had to be there or one day have the opportunity to ask him yourself. However, in the context of comparing this quote to economics, or perhaps banking, one could say that what he meant was that the choices that are made today might not be judged until later down the road. For example, a recessionis not something that just happens over night. In the event leading up to a recession, there are many factors and every recession is unique in their own way. As for the great recession in 2008, the causes included subprime lending, and greed amongst lenders and borrowers. Before jumping straight into the causes of the 2008 recession, first you must be informed of the history in previous recessions America has had to face. Since the Great Depressionended in mid 1930 s, America has had to overcome around eleven recessions. Now some might argue that not all recorded recessions were worthy of getting the tittle as an official recession. Many will simply say it was slight hiccup in the economy because of the short six to eight month duration of the smaller recessions. When divided over the years It seems that the United Stateshas one to two recessions every decade. However, everyone of the short recessions had a significant impact on the American ... King Louis XVIII agreed to the creation of a constitution and promised a constitutional monarchy, with a bicameral parliament, religious toleration, and constitutional rights for all citizens. However, the parliament was composed of extremely right wing royalists and was dismissed in 1816 due to disagreements. Louis XVIII later died in 1824, but he spent the rest of his time at the throne trying to heal the wounds of the Revolution. Following the death of Louis XVIII, his brother Charles X took the throne in 1824. Though the people were optimistic at the beginning of his reign, the opinion of the new king eventually turned sour. Charles X returned the land to the enemies of the Revolution that had been during the time under Napoleon, largely at the expense of bourgeois holders of government bonds. Charles X was also not religiously tolerant. He was a devoted Catholic, thus giving a large amount of power to the clergy and imposed the death penalty for refusing the Eucharist or any other religious sacraments. As Charles X lost support in parliament and from the general population, he felt the need to suspend the elections for officials because of radical motives.
