The document discusses the reasons for the Scots' defeat at the Battle of Falkirk during the Scottish Wars of Independence. It states that the Scottish cavalry left the battle early after being charged by English knights, leaving the Scottish army defenceless. Additionally, the Scottish leadership and tactics were less effective than at the previous Battle of Stirling Bridge, and the English army was larger, more organized, and led by the skilled King Edward.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. In today’s class, I am learning to:
• Explain why the Scots lost the Battle
of Falkirk
The Battle of Falkirk
3. Although William Wallace led the Scots to victory at
Stirling Bridge, his army was completely overwhelmed
by King Edward’s army at the Battle of Falkirk.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
4. There were various
reasons for the Scots’
defeat at Falkirk, including:
• Scottish cavalry actions
• Scottish leadership
• English military strength
• English leadership
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
5. Early in the battle, English
knights charged at the
Scottish cavalry.
The Scottish cavalry left
the battle after this attack
(some people even say
they were bribed to do so).
Scotland’s remaining army
was then defenceless.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
6. Victory at Stirling Bridge
was achieved with William
Wallace and Andrew de
Moray as leaders.
Many people believe that
Moray was actually the
more effective military
leader. However Moray
died after Stirling Bridge so
was not at Falkirk.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
7. Wallace’s Falkirk decisions
have been criticised.
Some people say that the
Scots should not have
taken part in the battle.
They were not organised
to fight, and had not
trained at the battlefield,
unlike at Stirling Bridge.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
8. Others have suggested that
the schiltrons were not an
effective tactic at Falkirk.
The muddy, marshy
ground in front of the
schiltrons made it difficult
for them to move or attack
the English. However it left
them open to archer attack
by England.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
9. The English army was
much bigger than
Scotland’s, with around
14,000 soldiers, compared
to Scotland’s 7000. England
also had more longbows
and knights on horseback.
All of this made it much
easier for the English army
to fight and win.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
10. The English army was not
just bigger than Scotland’s,
it was also more organised.
Many of the English army
were professional soldiers,
receiving daily wages for
their work. Some Scots on
the other hand were
farmers forced being to
fight by their landowners.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
11. Unlike at Stirling Bridge,
England had a very strong
military leadership.
Not only were many of
England’s most
experienced army
commanders at the battle,
they were led by King
Edward, himself a very
skilful soldier.
Why the Scots lost at Falkirk
