With the disruptive effects of technology on education in the millennial world, eLearning application solutions make a mark globally by replacing the traditional chalk & blackboard, pen & paper classrooms almost completely in many countries technically advanced and with others in strong pursuit. Digitized learning delivered by various electronic mediums take students to virtual classroom environments with engaging & flexible experiences.

Boise State University adopted Digication in 2013 as the official e-portfolio tool for faculty and students. Our instance of Digication is simple to use, provides no limits on how many portfolios a user creates, is connected to our SSO system, and offers a robust assessment backend. We have added the General Education University Learning Outcomes (ULOs) with their connected rubrics as well as specific program ULOs such as First Year Writing, ABET (engineering), and CAEP (education), to name a few. The simple, yet rich Digication interface allows for curation of video, Google Docs, PDFs, images, written content (which includes mathematical equations). Our usage on campus is expanding rapidly and we offer support in the form of online documentation, technical assistance via our Help Desk, and pedagogical guidance via the IDEA Shop (a department under the Center for Teaching and Learning). Our aim is two-pronged: 1) to provide a stable and secure interface for students to curate learning artifacts that will promote reflection over time and 2) to assess student learning in courses, departments, and programs.

What is Blended E-Learning? With the government’s focus in re-designing the Professional Learning Development (PLD) programme for our schools, there has been a re-shaping in how this support will be addressed.
From a Blended e-Learning perspective, one of the main tools being offered for schools to consider, is the e-Learning Planning Framework. There will most likely be a need to scrutinise this further and unpack with schools how the framework can be utilised to enhance their current practice in e-Learning.
The target groups of Māori, Pasifika and Special Education needs students, are to be kept to the forefront and whatever PLD is offered to schools, the outcomes must be seen in raising student achievement.
This session will look at the following
- Illustrate what Blended e-Learning (BeL) looks like in schools with students, leaders, teachers, communities
- Demonstrate what the e-Learning Planning Framework is and how it relates to programmes/initiatives in schools
- Explain what the BeL project is: who is involved; organization
- Explore strengths, areas to be strengthened, opportunities and areas to be aware of in order to be explicit about the way we work; could/should work; and identify opportunities for collaboration and sharing within BeL and across the Te Toi Tupu consortium, as the lead providers of E-learning Professional Development across New Zealand.

Dairy foods courses have traditionally offered a multidisciplinary framework for providing a successful learning environment. The application of classroom theory to realistic situations has been a product of knowledgeable faculty and strong daily industry cooperation through site visits, guest speakers and internship co op programs. This paper presents examples of traditional problem solving and hands on teaching models and examines the developing resources related to computer technology. The modern facilities at the Michigan State University Dairy Foods Complex are used as the basis for demonstration of the commingling of traditional educational opportunities with modern process control and multimedia teaching resources. The examples demonstrate the continued ability of dairy foods courses to be foundational learning experiences for both dairy and food science programs. Hybrid delivery describes a situation where some of your students are in the class with you, while others are joining remotely. I've never taught like that, but I have been in many meetings where those joining online have been the 'poor cousins' in any interaction. It's definitely easier to have everyone online or in the class.
Further restrictions and/or the need to self-isolate means that hybrid delivery might be a very real option for many. I've spent a little time looking at some of the advice offered around this approach to learning and teaching and will share what I've found.

For many managers, there is a real challenge both in managing remotely, and having confidence about the quality of remote or online delivery. Most managers have years of experience of managing campus based learning, and have had the benefit of peer and specialist support on site. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing.
